Hotel was well located and rooms were fine. Shower was over bath and there are no grab rails or bath mats - so great care is needed- my husband slipped and fell.
Some of the staff have very limited English but we got by.

Great place to stay in Laval

Decent hotel in the heart of Laval kust ten minutes walk from the train station. All essentials provided with a comfy bed and a decent hot shower. Breakfast was OK but fairly limited selection. A good no frills option

We were two women friends we ordered twin rooms and we had a double bed. We were too tired to complain. Only one large mug in the room and didn't know how to work coffee machine. The girl who delivered the breakfast had to show us .l also found the room dark as it only had wall lights and a standard lamp

This was a small hotel with a pleasant staff. The room was fine but the elevator was the smallest we had ever seen. Barely room for 2 people and no bags! Twice when we got the elevator it was filled with mops/buckets and cleaning supplies. Apparently the staff transports supplies between floors but no one was to get the materials out!

Room location was excellent… amazing view of the street with Christmas lights. Friendly staff. Limited local parking due to seasonal event and blocked streets also limited access, parked 3-4 blocks away upon arrival. No hotel parking availability.

The one right next to this hotel was the one I chose.
It was very good atmosphere with varieties of French cuisine with wines and beers.

Our booking for this hotel ended up being at the time when France was in complete lockdown and we had to rush back to UK before complete shut down of French borders. We arrived in Laval which looked like a ghost town and all hotels and restaurants were closed. We parked outside the Best Western and the owner was at reception waiting for us, as they had honoured our reservation. We were the only couple staying at the hotel and were given use of a microwave oven should we wish to cook any food. We were given a couple of mobile numbers and the entry code to the hotel and the owner left us after ensuring that we had everything we required. We left the next morning after a refreshing night's sleep in a warm comfortable room. We were extremely grateful and wish to say a big MERCI BEAUCOUP to the people concerned.

Great stay, friendly and clean

They were very accommodating and I contacted them prior to ask for a parking space . They only have 6 spaces so it is very small car park and very tight but worth it if you are there for a few days. Staff firendly, we didn't have breakfast so can't rate that. Room was clean and we were at the front where we thought it would be noisy but it was not as double glazing. Modern and clean and would stay again.

We were given one of the smallest rooms in the Hotel, there was only a small amount of hanging space for clothes so all other clothes had to be left in the case on the floor and that was in short supply, there is very little car parking at the hotel so that is a big problem as parking on the road is charged for.

Room small and local area quiet

Room too small to be in for 4 days when not paying a budget price but serviced well and reasonably well equipped. Laval is nice but too quiet for me and opening / food service times of cafes and bars was restrictive although we did get used to it.

Somewhat disappointing for a Best Western hotel.

Breakfast was utilitarian. Hot drinks were not good. The ambiance of the room was poor. No linen, no cutlery on the table and chairs so heavy you had to be strong to move them. It was an expensive meal for what was on offer. Even though I had paid for a better room it was still small. The bathroom had been refurbished to a good standard. However, a small person would have difficulty getting in or out of the bath!

Clean and adequate

Perfectly adequate three star hotel that has been recently updated. Rooms small but clean. Air conditioning not working and leaky shower. Beware breakfast which is an extra charge but not advertised as such.

Extra double glazing fantastic. Quiet Friday night/Saturday morning. Good welcome, very clean, comfortable and great breakfast. Easy to find from the station and to the market and historic quarter the next morning. Perfect.

It was unfortunate that the original booking in Laval was not to a good standard. I quickly found a room at the best Western which was clean and modern although small. Ten times better than the hotel we had to walk away from. Ideal loca5 for restaurants etc.

Nice central hotel

We enjoyed our stay very much in this hotel. Even though our room overlooked a very busy town centre street, we slept very well because of the good double glazing. The room was very clean and comfortable, and in the evening we had a wide choice of restaurants within a short walking distance.

Nice place, excellent location

A lovely two night stay at this hotel in Laval. A great location approx ten minutes walk from the train station and very close to the centre of the town.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. There were a few communication problems as not very many of the staff have much English knowledge (and my French is not good), but they always made an effort to understand. The walls are quite thin so I could hear the people in adjoining rooms. Breakfast was a simple buffet selection but with plenty of choice.

Extremely central to main town and Laval trains

Hotel has restaurant next to it and is situated very near to main town, just a short walk across river. Busy brasserie near by but not noisy. Hairdressers down road to left of hotel. Going from the right of the hotel the LAVAL main railway station is about a 15 minute walk away or there are taxis and buses that run there. The hotel does breakfast but is rather expensive for the amount of food offered Pleasant staff and always helpful but not many speak that much English, good practice for any would-be French speakers. Launderette up main road to the right, although hotel does do laundry service.
I found the hotel to be extremely central and probably the best situated for restaurants, small eating places and atmosphere with good bus services opposite and plenty of car parking around the area. There is a cinema across the river and for English visitors, the newsagents on the main road opposite the tourist office, sells some English papers, but be quick because they are snapped up! Also bookshop M'Lire on way to river and town sells English books, but you have to go downstairs to find them.

The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The general atmosphere was very welcoming and everywhere was tidy and clean. The location was excellent. There was a good variety of food available for breakfast which was very well presented and a reasonable price. We would have preferred better quality cups in the bedroom rather than the plastic ones which were provided and a few more complimentary biscuits would have been nice too. We would book this hotel again.

Good hotel, but only if you can get in!

My only problem with this hotel was that, after driving for 8 hours, I was not please to have to wait 2 hours for the hotel to open!!!

I arrived on Sunday at approx 15:30 and then had to wait around until 17:30 until the reception opened.

Even when the receptionist arrived at 17:00 the doors were not opened to let me in.

Médiocre, acceuil déplorable, le personnel est plus occupé à récupérer les données personnelles des clients qu'à faire leur travail, prix des chambres extrêmement élevées, totalement déconnectées du niveau de l'hôtel et du service offert, chambres neuves et globalement petites, ventilation impossible à éteindre, bruit de la ventilation permanent qui empêche dé dormir, petit déjeuner déplorable, croissants pas suffisamment cuits, fruits pourris dans la corbeille en quantité extrêmement réduite, machine à café défaillante, etc etc

L’hôtel est situé idéalement en centre-ville et propose une restauration en chambre très correcte, ainsi que le petit déjeuner. La chambre est décorée avec goût et la literie est de bonne qualité. Le personnel est très attentif au bien-être de ses hôtes. Je recommande !
