Recently stay here. It’s great location near everything by the San Marcos castle. The room was clean and the staff was very professional. The properly is out date it but I think that’s just Venice style

Great location, but disappointing breakfast service
The hotel’s location is excellent and perfect for exploring the city. The room, as is common in Venice, is old-fashioned but well maintained and clean. Overall, the cleanliness was good.
Please note there is no elevator and you need to climb three flights of stairs. This was not a problem for us as we are in good physical condition, but it may not be suitable for everyone.
Breakfast had a great variety and everything was very tasty. Unfortunately, the attitude of the lady in charge of breakfast was very disappointing. Breakfast starts at 7:00 a.m., and although we normally don’t go that early, we had a flight and needed to. When we politely asked if we could have breakfast because of our flight, she responded with a bad attitude.
When we asked for coffee, she placed the plate and spoon down very roughly, almost slamming them on the table, and gave us unfriendly looks. Her behavior made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
It’s a shame, because the hotel has many positive aspects, but this experience negatively affected our stay.

When we arrived we were greeted by the desk clerk Kate who was very welcoming, informative and efficient. First impression- When we saw our room, we were disappointed that our room and bathroom were so tiny; there was a musty odour and the shower stall had quite a bit of mould. However, the bedding and towels were clean and the bathroom was clean. The bed was very comfortable and it was so quiet. A fabulous breakfast is included complete with freshly baked pastries. The location is really convenient. This is a great place to stay!

The hotel was disgusting, the room was so dusty and musty and full of mould on the walls and in the bathroom. The toilet seat did stay up, there was broken shelves in the shower and exposed wiring in the bedroom (to name a few issues).

The staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient, and the location is very convenient, but that was where the positive aspects ended.
It was not clear upon booking that there is no elevator at this hotel, and only one narrow winding staircase to get up to our room.
The condition of the room, the bed, and the bathroom were all very poor. They are old and not well maintained. For example, when you try to unplug a charging cord, the entire electrical outlet falls out of the wall.
The bathroom is right beside the bed, and is so small that my 6’6” husband could not fit inside. It’s about the same size as an airplane bathroom with a narrow shower stall attached.
Then, although it appeared to be a double bed, it was two twin beds pushed together, and we suspect that the mattress my husband slept on was infested with bugs, as he woke up with itchy, swollen red insect bites all over his body. It has now been 2 days since our stay, and he is still covered with them.
Additionally, the room smells mouldy, and turning on the air conditioner does bot cool the room, but rather makes it smell worse and feel more humid.
The convenient location is not worth the drawbacks of this hotel. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

Hotel was comfortable and right in a main thoroughfare, so lots of shops and restaurants as soon as you step outside. Great location with quick 2 minute walk from the vaporetta. Good breakfast and great view of a canal and gondolas from the breakfast room

Scam we were rebooked at a worse property that was far from thr city center and had no AC. You cannot sleep at night because you need to have the windows open (since no AC) and mosquitoes will not let you sleep. This will ruin tour vacation.

Staff was excellent. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Wide variety of choices and we could watch the gondolas go by as we ate. Neither of our rooms had canal views, but breakfast room right on canal. Coffee machine, could make however we wanted. Wifi is extremely limited. Only works in small sitting area with 5 chairs. It did not work in rooms or breakfast area.had to be careful in shower doors did not meet up so water could spray out if not cautious. We lwft luggage bo broblem, left in lobby area.

Really appreciate and deeply thanks for the hotel to help us to adjust our booking mistake. We forgot the timezone difference and booked hotel one day before our actual date with non refundable option. Even the hotel is not available for our dates, they arranged us to their sister hotel with no extra cost. The hotel is in a perfect location for walking to almost every place we like. Just the corridor is narrow and no elevator. Otherwise I will give top rate for everything.

The best was location. Breakfast was good, amazing coffe. Staff was kind. No elevator, no door in the shower, it was broken by previous customer and never fixed. We never leave the key at reception while out, I just took away the heavy piece. If you have the opportunity choose for another hotel.

Kind of a bummer

The stay was fine. The problem was with booking. I needed to change an arrival date. The Alcyone handled that not Hotels.com and I don't know why. I had five reservations at this hotel. The Alcyone cancelled two of them without my knowledge or approval. When I found out I had to rebook at a new much more expensive rate and one of my room types was sold out so I had to book a triple room that I didn't need. What a racket! Now because the Alcyone took over those two reservations, Hotels.com only has three of them on file and I missed out on the Rewards points.The stay was fine although the in room free Wi-Fi didn't work. We had to find a place outside for reception. The employees were pleasant. Frankly worrying about my rooms being right and available and the trouble I had to go through for repeated follow ups took some of the joy out of our stay for me & my family.

Upon check in on September 9, we were told by the lady at the desk to pay €6.50 in cash for service or some other city tax, which we did not dispute and paid. Next day upon check out, same girl asked for €10.50 for city tax. When we told her we had already paid the day before €6.50, she totally denied that we had paid and since we had not gotten a receipt for it, we could not prove it. €6.50 is not worth fighting for, but the attitude and denial of the same girl whom we paid 6.50 in cash made us very angry.
We request that the management look into this and while disciplining the girl at the desk, credit our credit card with €6.50.

Wifi is only available in the lobby and not in the rooms. This is not very convenient when you're on the fourth floor and there is no elevator.

After being there 2 nights we were quite rudely informed by the woman at the front desk we were not allowed to take the key off of the property. We had come and gone multiple times without turning in our key prior to this. If it is their policy, they should have told us at check in and not scolded is in the presence of other hotel guests.

Property is old and not maintained air condition was horrible loud we could not sleep at all. Bathroom is very tight and no toilet seat and flush was broken we asked the front desk to change the room she asked us to pay another 30 euros per night to have another room.after long discussion she changed us on the next day to another room which was better bathroom and AC.
The hotel mentions that they have WIFI they don’t have in the rooms only special spot near the reception

There is no wifi in the rooms it lies. The fish tank is disgusting. The room smelled odd. The AC didn't work. The bed had indentations where people have slept and was uncomfortable. They wouldn't move me or refund me so I just left and paid for 2 nights that I wasn't there. Got a different hotel and had a great time.

We arrived late after our flights to find our hotel to look like an abandoned trailer. Stains on the rug. Shower door busted off completely. Trim missing and piled in the corner. Toilet paper holding up a shelf. I can’t make this up. They had nothing else to transfer us to and we booked a different hotel for the duration of our time in Venice. They wouldn’t refund us or comp us in anyways. Major let down. The photos they post are not true to how it looks. No elevators also.

I am easy traveler, as long as the room is clean, with a private bathroom and wifi, I am happy. Multiple things went wrong with this hotel. #1 Free wifi is advertised, BUT only for a small common area and it doesn’t always work. Nowhere it says that!! I had to work and attend conference calls, which was very challenging. I mainly booked this place because of the wifi and that it was close by to where i was staying previously. #2 At night, i asked if they had water and I was handed a bottle, I was not even informed I had to pay it during checkout, what if i didn’t have any money left? #3 The staff was rude, with the exception of the boy in the afternoon and the breakfast staff.
I decided this was not going to ruin my last day in Venice, so I took a few deep breaths. I will never stay there again, and do not recommend it.

The hotel is very miserable

The hotel is very miserable in the true sense of the word for the price. It does not deserve to be a tourist hotel. It is just a non-existent room. It is not worth more than ten-twenty dollars. The rooms are very small. The bathroom. I do not know what to say about it. The breakfast and the treatment of the employees are very bad. look if you are begging, they raise the food and hide it during breakfast time. The paralyzed and the great disaster without an elevator, and I had to carry my bags to the third floor, and I am 65 years old, and this was not mentioned in the details of the hotel. The only advantage is the location, but it is not worth the price ever
I ask you to compensate for this because of suffering, effort and fatigue, not recreation.

This hotel is in a good location and has good breakfast, that’s about it!

The decor is as advertised and extremely outdated. It looks like an unstylish grandma barfed all over the place with the decor. Also - if you were like me and wondering how they matched the couch fabric and the wallpaper EXACTLY, it’s because the wallpaper IS fabric haha

No internet in the rooms, only crappy internet in the lobby. The front desk entrance looks like it could be used for a school bake sale, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it was fine. Staff spoke English and were helpful.

Location of the hotel was excellent - 3 minutes from Rialto bridge and waterbus stops and easily walkable to San Marco and the train station. Great area with bars, restaurants and cafes plus great shops.
Staff were friendly and spoke good English and they let us store our bags at the hotel on check
Our day. The morning buffet breakfast was great.
Good information offered for tours and activities if required.

The room was very dingy with basically no natural light, and was quite dirty on check in with a squished mosquito on the bathroom wall, stains on the fabric walls and a very fusty smell in the room.
The squished mosquito remained on the wall until check out despite the room being cleaned twice.

Overall at almost £100 a night and outside of peak season I was a little disappointed by the standard, though it should be ok if you don’t plan to spend any time in the room.

The add-on bathroom in the room was disgusting, you had to sit sideways on the toilet because your knees touch the wall, more of a problem if you are tall. The shower drain was clogged up and therefore the water overflowed onto the carpet in the bedroom. The carpet in the bedroom along the bathroom door was black because of water constantly overflowing from shower spilling into bedroom. Buffet breakfast very basic but the cold meats, cheese and yoghurt is not refrigerated, always warm which is very concerning.

Great place for the price. Kept clean. Hotel staff are friendly and very good at English. Shop next door will open some wine which you can take to your room. Unfortunately the terrace isn't open but that doesn't matter so much as the air con is great. Breakfast is good. Location is excellent for travelling to San Marco square and the Rialto bridge. Be careful of the doors when you leave. They don't lock by turning the key. You have to slam them shut. Other than that. Very impressed

The location of this hotel was great, that, along with the price, was why I chose to stay here.. The staff were nice and friendly but my room was a bit on the small side and although clean, things (the shower, aircon, decor, etc) could have done with an upgrade..

The hotel is in a perfect location ibeteeen Rialto and San Marco . No elevator so if you stay on the third floor you have to drag your bags 3 floor but that’s just on arrival and departure. The AC in the room is awesome rooms are very cold. The smell of humidity in the room is very strong but I think because is surrounded by water.

Disappointing Yet Centrally Located

We stayed here in January 2018. The hotel is conveniently located between Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. Unfortunately, they do not have a lift which wasn't an issue for us, but definitely a problem for older guests and large families. They only offered Wi-Fi in the lobby which was always crowded with guest trying to access the internet. To make it worse, the Wi-Fi was slow. Our room and particularly the bathroom was ridiculously small. We had to squeeze between the stool and wall to enter the shower, which had an accordion type door that leaked. The hotel, like other hotels in Italy, required that you leave the room key with the front desk whenever you leave the hotel. Upon return, we would request the key. More than once the female attendant was annoyed with us asking for our key. Seriously, this is your policy not mine!! Plus, the keys were often left hanging unattended while the front desk staff also served as the lobby bartender. Anyone could grab an unattended key and enter a room. Not at all the type of security I had expected.

Small hotel in great location for all the main areas of interest in Venice.

The hotel itself is somewhat dated and requires upgrades in several areas. These include in relation to the room we had of changing the mattress as it was more than past it’s best making for a slightly uncomfortable sleep. Also the shower cubicle requires maintenance to stop it leaking onto the floor of the bathroom that was not big enough to swing a cat in.

The room itself was a bit disappointing as it was much smaller than anticipated with just enough room either side of the bed to walk round. Furthermore on opening the room door it was no more than 3/4 steps until reaching the bed itself. I realise space is off a premium in Venice, but felt a little like a sardine packed into a tin hotel room wise.

However some of these issues were made up for by the cleanliness of the room and hotel along with the friendly and help staff working there.

So if you wish a hotel in a great location close to St Marks Square and Rialto Bridge and don’t mind having a hotel room that is compact then this is the hotel for you.

Good location, tiny rooms with uncomfortable beds

Good location and polite staff. Disappointed with the size of the room. Claustrophobic rooms and ensuite. Could feel the bed springs at night. Wifi only available in corridors and no ironing facilities was a let down. Free breakfast was good.

Budget hotel in good location in Venice

Room very compact but clean. Fresh towels daily. Breakfast fine and staff friendly. 24 hour front desk meant that our delayed 2am arrival was ok and still welcoming. Easy to find position. Near to the Rialto and therefore, easy transport to airport and Grand Canal water buses. Steep stairs and no lift. Wifi only in the reception area but it did at least work fine. Sun terrace totally out of action. All in all value for money. As a base it was fine and we had a wonderful stay in Venice.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in

There are only 2 positive aspects of the hotel; location and breakfast provided in the morning. Other than that, horrible! I was terrified when I saw the blanket on the bed. It looked so old and tattered. Then TV was not working and lots of dust all around the cables. Holes in the walls, broken chair...

I requested a room on first floor and got it no problem. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable and clean.

Staff were very helpful at reception and in the breakfast room.

Venice is a cool location i spend 3 nights there in Alcyone Hotel..
I visited Murano and burano by boat it was fantastic...
No a lot of places to visit in venice maximum it needs 2 nights and everything is expensive there...

No WiFi in the room was a big disadvantage and the upstairs area was closed and didn't open during the fireworks display during the best able (3rd weekend in July) which was very disappointing apparently no one had a key. Good location and value for money.

Good sleep.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. the bed was amazingly comfortable and the room got cleaned and new towels every day. We had a lovely view of the canal from the bedroom window. It is a little difficult to find so make sure you have a good map printed out to get there your first time. The staff are very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was a nice continental buffet, don't expect to pay extra for a English breakfast. Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice. Only negative is no tea/coffee facilities in the room but the lady on reception was happy to turn on the machines and make us hot drinks in the evening.

Someone tried to escape through the ceiling.

When we arrived we did not feel welcome in the hotel the receptionist was rather rude. The room was nice however there was a lot of handprints and scrapes on the ceiling which indicated that someone was trying to escape. We were scared. Breakfast was very poor, little to choose from and they were very strict on how many croissants you could eat and even made us take one from our plate and put back on the table. I was shocked to say the least. There was no wifi in the room meaning we could not watch any p o r n so I wouldn't stay here again.

Great location, nice hotel, good for the price

We came to Venice for a long weekend during the carnival. The hotel is in a great spot, easy to find and very central. As other people have said, the room wasn't big, but was clean and vibrantly decorated. It was quiet at night and the curtains blocked out the light very well.
Breakfast was a cold buffet, plenty of choice and more than enough to keep you going all morning, and you can watch gondolas going past as you eat.
The facilities are basic - no tea and coffee in the room, and just a small seating area downstairs, but it's right in the centre of Venice - you would pay a fortune to get something big.
We stayed in winter and it was warm and comfortable. We didn't bother trying the sun terrace in the mist and rain...
The staff spoke a variety of languages including good English.

Great location, need upgrade

The hotel location is great, right next to the Rialto Bridge and a 10 min walk from Piazza San Marco. Coming from the train station, take the water taxi if you are 5-6 people if not take the vaporetto (water bus) as it is more cost effective.

The breakfast is ok, and the staff is nice. The hotel does not have an elevator, the stairs are pretty steep, and the staff does not help you take your luggage upstairs. The hotel has 4 floors so take this into consideration.

The hotel is clean however the rooms needs a major upgrade. They look like Napoleon's room and the beds are need to be replaced. The bathrooms are tiny as well. We usually left the hotel around 10 am and came back around 10 pm the 3 nights we were there so it did not bother us too much. But if your plan is to go to Venice do a little walking and relax thank it is not the hotel for you.

Great location

This hotel has a wonderful staff, a decent breakfast and pretty comfortable beds. The rooms are a bit tight, but you'd be hard pressed to find a larger room at a decent hotel in Venice (it's just the European way, and it isn't bad). However, there was an extremely foul smell from our bathroom. The toilet wasn't clogged, but terrible sewage fumes were filling up our room with a disgusting odor. Sadly, the bathroom didn't have a window, and I am sensitive to smells, so we couldn't even let the night desk person spray anything to cover it up. We had a lovely stay, except for the smell. I'm sure that other Venetian hotels have similar problems and to an extent, we can forgive it, but it was pretty bad for a few days.

Great Location, frendly and helpful staff 24hours,great value for Venice, only down side was no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor,be warned if you have luggage you have to carry it up.
