The hotel itself was very nice; modern styling to the building. The staff at the front desk were very polite and helpful (and I appreciate them speaking to me in Japanese and stating what word meant what between Japanese and English so I could learn more!). The hotel room itself was the usual Japan hotel size, but the view of the snowy mountains was beautiful. The public bath was really nice, but a bit smaller than expected. The only complaint I had was the odor coming from the bathroom. We left the vent on the whole time but a \"sewagey\" odor still persisted, but when the bathroom door was closed it wasn't noticed. The breakfast was also really good, food tasted great and was kept warm the time we went. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was well placed to use as a base for out exploring of the city.
The staff were very helpful, the facilities were clean, but the room had issues.
Our fridge wasn’t working, the bidet wasn’t working, the bed was extremely hard, the pillows were very uncomfortable and the room air conditioning was centrally controlled meaning you had no control over room temperature, only fan control, even on low the room became very cold very quickly, but turned off, it warmed up very quickly so you needed it on.

This property was a real Gem, a nice clean hotel, close to a station, shopping and fish market nearby.

The onsen and restaurant in the hotel were fantastic!

Easily my nicest stay so far out of my japan trips!

NEGATIVE - Outdoor pool was inaccessible due to maintainance, bathroom not fully cleaned properly before occupying. Bathroom very small for north americans.

This hotel is in bad need of an upgrade.
Rooms are small, bathroom has a big step up from bedroom floor and is tiny.
Lots of noise from the street at night. Good point is hotel is close to Kanazawa station easy walk.
Only stay if you are desperate.

Okay stay for price

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station and Omichi Market. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby was welcoming and clean. However, once we got to the floor our room was on, it wasn't so clean compared to other hotels we'd been staying in across Japan. The a/c is seasonal, so in Oct it's only a heater, which meant we had to sleep with windows open to keep cool. It wouldn't have been a problem except it was noisy outside late into the night and starting early in the morning. The breakfast buffet was very good.

Very good budget hotel. Perfect for a couple of days sight seeing trip when you're spending very little time at the hotel and don't need lots of space. Having said that, it was very comfortable with a good bed, good shower, effective air-conditioning and quiet; all things I look for in a hotel, whatever the budget. The location was fine - very convenient for the train station - but not next to Kanazawa Castle as the name suggests (maybe 15-20 mins walk away).
I'd definitely recommend though and will use this hotel chain again.

This can be a great place…

Very close to the train station. The location was excellent and the staff was super nice, however, the room we were in had an ant problem even though the room was on the second floor. The curtains were broken and the window sills were so dusty and dirty. They definitely need to pay more attention to details. This place can be an excellent place to stay if they would fix the issues that I mentioned.

Excellent price at around Aud seventy. Very close to station. Clean and comfortable. I had a nice, well laid out room facing on to a public park with distant views to mountains, on the 6th floor. A friend was not so lucky and got a room facing the street which was noisy with the window open.
It paid off for me to ask for a room on a high floor, not facing the street and away from the elevator and a window that opened! All my requests were fulfilled, and I enjoyed my room (Standard twin - renovated).
About a 25 minute walk to most tourist destinations - but easy flat walking and the bonus being easy to get to and from the hotel from the station with bags.

We arrived early knowing we weren’t able to check in but was hoping to leave our luggage and use the toilet in the lobby to change our girls nappies. We were able to leave the luggage but were told we weren’t allowed to sit in the lobby or use the toilet til after we check in. So had to go outside and change a poo nappy in 7 degrees! I think it’s ridiculous you can’t use the bathroom in the lobby when you are going to be guests!

The only bad thing about this hotel was that the bathroom smelled like they have a plumbing problem.
That was unpleasant. If they fix this, it is a nice place to stay.

Good Hotel, Great Value, parking can be an issue

Hotel is quite ok, but great value for money. Deluxe Twin didn't look as impressive as in photos, but was very spacious. Bathroom was too small for even Japan.
Had a bad start as Hotels.com had given the impression that parking was booked for us, however, staff denied all knowledge. As we were late to arrive, we were not going looking for parking, so insisted and the staff let us park in the premises but not in a designated area and still charged the full amount about 1100 yen. The AC was running in hot, but the manageress was quick to come and sort out the setting (remote controls are in Japanese). There was some smell in the room, again, she offered to clean further, but we declined and it was ok afterwards. Plenty of good quality (as normal for MyStays) cleansers, moisturisers and other amenities at reception free or charge and self service. Public bath is good, but not the best or worst we have come across in Japan. Did not have breakfast as we didn't want to rush to get ready early.

Clean, spacious rooms. Triple room -3 twin beds with extra space for a small desk and luggage- larger than other rooms I have stayed in. Easy walk to JR station - 5 minutes. Short walks to other site seeing areas. Great watch repair shop a few doors west of hotel, friendly owner!

Two nights in Hotel Mystays Kanazawa Castle

Great stay. We paid for an \"eco\" hotel so there was no room clean up every day. The room was of a decent size compared to other hotel rooms in Japan. Very well appointed, good quality linen and a very pleasent front desk. Very good experience.

We ended up here for a night due to the typhoon. It was very close to the station and restaurants. The service was good and helpful. Terrible wifi, but maybe because so many were using it. Beds not comfortable, but didn't find any comfy beds in Japan. Small rooms and bathrooms - typical. Clean, provided what you needed, updated facilities, laundry available, nice staff, clean hotel! Good stay!

Great hotel in Kanazawa with a great price

This hotel was great. It is listed as a \"budget hotel\" but I feel that gives the hotel a bad rep, because the quality of this hotel is way above \"budget hotel\" status. This location was absolutely perfect for us. It was 2/3 blocks down from Kanazawa Station and had many nice restaurants around, including a great sushi restaurant and ramen restaurant practically across the street. I think the highlight of the hotel was the public onsen that connected to the hotel that was free for guests to use. It would have been nice to have a convenience store closer by, but that would be my only complaint. Room was nice size, clean, and nicely decorated.

Everything was okay, I waited at the lobby to check in at 2.30 to check in and I was told check-in time is strictly at 3pm. However a group of white foreigners came in at 2.45 and they got the room. hmmmm...

The toilet smells a little in the mornings, rooms very small, breakfast was ok.

For the price, we are happy and will not hesitate to stay here if we visit again.

We stayed at the annex which I think is newer. It's just steps away from main block so no issues.
Rooms are bigger than Tokyo, there's ample space to open 2 luggage on the floor . Beds are comfy and hot spring was good after a day of walking around.

Hotel is within 5 mins walk from train station, so it's convenient.
The train station and nearby malls are where food, shopping, transport to Kanazawa sights are easily accessed to.

Tip: There is a sushi shop at ground floor of hotel annex and the food is really fresh, sumptuous and easy on our pockets! It's a local shop so they don't speak English. But no worries, there's pictures in menu and neighboring tables to refer to!

This hotel is a bit run down and the staff, while they try to be helpful, are not able to speak any other languages. Also, not the cleanest of hotels. The info on their Expedia says they speak English, but they do not.
I would not be able to recommend this hotel due to the condition of the rooms and the staff.

Value for money near station. Big rooms. However during winter the room heating is slightly not sufficient to keep the bathrom at room temperature. Onsen is good ...not crowded. Coin laundry to drying at 500 yen is a great facility.
