This a tour bus / volume hotel. Location to Kanazawa and Onsen on property were the two highlights. We asked for larger room and willing to top up but what was offered was an amount close to what we were paying. Asked for a room away from the train tracks only to be given a room as with a full view / sound experience

Good location for short stay

The AC cannot choose either cold or warm, default as warm due to its autum, but makes the room so hot even choose lowest setting.
The room is close by the rail then expected, a bit noisy sonetimes.

The hotel is 10 mins’ walk from the main train / bus station. A little on the quiet side but there is a 24-hour convenience store nearby. Reception lobby is beautiful. Front desk staff are exceptionally kind and helpful.

Perfectly fine hotel. Location is great. The only drawback was that the room got really hot and I couldn't find a way to turn the heat off other than opening the window. The airconditioner only made it worse. Other than that, it was nice.

Within walking distance of the railway station

Convenient location and though we could hear trains the noise was not a problem for us. The room as usual in Japan was small but comfortable. Breakfast is an additional cost. The restaurant also serves evening meals that are very reasonably priced if you don't want to leave the premises. Very helpful staff.

I booked into a smoking room by mistake and was with a 3 year old. The staff didn't bother to change room for me...maybe b'cos too much extra work!

Considering the price tab, the hotels needs some TLC and refurbishment.

There is a choice of either Japanese or American breakfast.
Japanese food looks very nice.

The hotel is located about 5 min walk from Kanazawa station.
The best thing is that they have a great hot spring! We can enjoy it night and also morning.

Overall the stay was fine however it was a very tiny room, even by Japanese standards. The bathroom smelled rather unsavoury which I can only put down to the drains. It was 5-10 minutes walk to the station - I would recommend accessing from the east exit if you are on foot as it was more direct.

Quite clean hotel

This hotel is 5 mins walk from train station, and main bus station is on another side of the train station. So it's very easy to get around the city by bus. This hotel has public bath and steam room. It's a clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staffs who speak English. Since it's on the back side of the train station, the area is pretty quite, with a convenient store in half a block. Room is quite standard and the bed is comfortable too.

Great location, very close to train station, about a five minute walk. Exit out of the west side of the station (opposite of bus terminal area). Some staff seemed a bit more frantic then the rest of the hotels we stayed in, other staff here were lovely and gave great restaurant recommendations. Floor needed to be vacuumed in our room (found some tonenail clippings next to the bed) otherwise very tidy. Can faintly hear trains at night. Room comes with a back massager!
Convenient location for buses. Overall a great stay. Sad I didn't have time to use the public bath, it looked GORGEOUS.

Do the Fukumitsuya Sake Tour if you are visitng on a Friday!!!!!!

The hotel is clean but room is very small. I am glad that I took a double room although I am alone. Still I felt a little suffocated. The room was too hot for me but there was no way to adjust the room temperature. Do not expect toiletries that you usually see at the other hotels. There is only powdered green tea and no coffee or tea in the room. Breakfast was OK.

Nice hotel, close to the train station. Westerners with tattoos (even little ones) are not allowed in the on site bath.
I'd suggest skipping the breakfast, you can get much better from the station or from the food court in the nearby Forus shopping centre.

convenient and clean hotel

Close to the train station which was what we needed to for an early start on the alpine route. Not much in terms of extra amenities and it's also on the quieter side of the train station. We had stayed on the other side the day before and probably would have picked the former location if they had availability for two nights, but this one was fine. It would only be an extra five minutes walk to the castle, markets, and garden. The hotel was otherwise clean.

The hotel is a little far from the station if customers are with large luggage.
Suggested to provide shuttle bus services (hourly/half-hourly).

The artificial Onsen is value added for tourists after daily trips.
Overall, Manten is good with reasonable pricing.

A bit long but easy walk from station. Room is about Japanese standard business hotel, which is definitely small for American standards. They have huge public bath that you can soak in. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty.

5 minutes walk from Kanazawa train station.
The lobby was huge, the staff was nice.
The room was small, but good. The window was ridiculously complicated to operate and not practical at all.
I would not recomend breakfast here. It was a set course, to choose between japanese or western. The portions were small. I chose the western, on which I had to choose either 3 small sausages or a small ham steak. I chose the ham and asked for one sausage to taste. The staff declined my request.

Fantastic Manten Hotel Kanazawa

Fantastic hotel for any length of stay - the staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious with a bath/shower, tea/coffee making facilities, TV, great views of Kanazawa, and very close to the shops, the JR railway and local train and bus service. I would definitely stay here again and for longer.

Surpassed our expectations

We were surprised when we first walked into the hotel. It was much more clean and classy looking than we expected it to be. The room was of average size but the WiFi was the best on the entire trip. The onsen is also very nice with an outdoor one as well and a mist sauna that rotates fragrances at night. The only thing is that the closest convinience store is on the far side of the station so it's recommended to get some food or drinks if you haven't already before going back to the hotel.

Great value hotel. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We had both night's dinner at the restaurant. Although we would've loved to order the 'crab course' but not enough information to let us know that we need to book 'in advance'. Onsen was good. Our only complain was the blanket being 'tainted' which looks like 'drops of blood'. The front desk night staff(lady) was extremely helpful in solving the glitch by offering us room exchange. But we decided on exchanging the blanket instead.

It's a bit far from JR station and bus station but still in walking distance, but i like the Onsen in this hotel. The room is clean and typical Japan Business hotel room. it's got a K Circle(convenience store) in 3 minutes walking distance. The hotel staff is quite nice.

Excellent hotel and good value for money. Its located close to Kanazawa Train Station (5 minute walk). It isn't centrally located to the main tourist areas though. It would take about good a few minutes by bus to commute to central Kanazawa. A bit noisy from the train station being so close. I awoke to a announcement on the intercom (try and ask for a room on the other side might be better). Good facilities and the breakfast provided was really big and filling. I would stay here again.

The room is Japanese size. It is small, but efficient. You have a bed, TV, free internet and manage to have bath room and bath tab. The room is not so sound proof, however you are OK as most of the Japanese tourists are polite and hardly makes loud noise in their rooms. You can also enjoy big public bath which is very relaxing. The train station is nearby as described. Mori Mori Sushi in the Forus shopping mall is the best in the world. You can pay 10 times of their price on everywhere else, but you will not get the qualify and freshness of this sushi place, but expect to wait for 30~40min on weekends. Their computerized order system can display in English, Chinese, Korean as well. So if you think you know what the sushi is in your own country, try this place. Many of my non-Japanese friends repent saying \"I thought I was eating sushi all this time, but now I know the sushi I eat in my country is not sushi at all after eating authentic sushi in this place!\"

Close to Kanazawa station, great bath house

\"Ekimae\" in Japanese apparently refers to the hotel's close proximity to the train station, it was only about 5min away on foot.

Certainly a better class of hotel with an extensive, well-appointed bath house (free for hotel guests). Our room was clean and compact, requiring a degree of organization to remain practical. Nevertheless, our single night here was comfortable and trouble-free, with friendly and accommodating staff.

A relaxing stay at a very professionally run hotel

Great breakfast and very efficient service all round. Room spotless and modern. Great value if you book early. The restaurant served Japanese tapa-style dishes which were very reasonably priced and delicious. The hotel is a little walk from central Kanazawa although it's quite close to the station.

Not only us but also another couple had the trouble getting non-smoking rooms although requests were made at the booking.

Beautiful hotel

Manten hotel is a very beautiful hotel, with the lush greenery that surrounds the building, giving the lobby and breakfast lounge a peaceful, relaxing zen atmosphere. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There's also a public bath at level 2. I've not used it, but it's supposed to be surrounded by greenery and give you the 'open-air' feel. The place is a short 5 minute walk to Kanazawa station. Overall, I've had a wonderful stay at Manten, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kanazawa.

quite comfortable, from a few americans.

the Stay was great. the room was small, without room to unpack any clothing. but the bed was more than sufficient, shower/bathroom was good. small but good enough for two people to get around each other. very clean. location was pretty central to kanazawa however the train doesnt go to the nightlife spots so a short cab was necessary. if you have your own car its great. about an hour from many ski resorts, near a few malls and the main train station. as well as many restaurants within waking distance. we had our own car and the parking situation was a little confusing since some hotel attendants didnt speak english. eventually there were a few that spoke enough to know what i was trying to ask, and they worked with me to get it done.
