The room seems like it was not ready when we got in our room. There were no bath towels, and no other toiletries set up. I just booked a standard room and it should have included robes, slippers, and hair dryer. None of these were available upon check in. I waited for more than 40 minutes after I requested the towels and had to do a follow-up phone call because I’d really wanted to take a shower. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast buffet isn’t the best either. The facility is gorgeous. We also own a property at the Misibis resort and wanted to visit our property. At first they said the person that holds the map isn’t available. Until I was very vocal with my disappointment, and miraculously, they found someone that took us to see our property.

Another complaint is that, they told us there is no wifi where our room was. They gave us a ridiculous/ stupid reason This is the 5th accommodation I have been for the last 3 weeks of my vacation and all of them had wifi. Even restaurants in the area offered free wifi and this high end resort did not.

My pros and cons about this hotel/resort

Pros: I flew down from California to stay here at this wonderful place and I have to say it was just all amazing don’t listen to the reviews online I stayed in a sea view room for a week and I felt like home everything was so convenient and the staff was amazing and fast I would highly recommend this place..

Cons: there isn’t much Cons besides the shower head being odd and shooting water all over the bathroom and getting everything wet so we used the hand shower head which is ok.. another con was the insects, occasionally we would get these big spiders all over the bathroom and centipedes crawling everywhere and my girlfriend would completely go crazy because she seen one lol another con was the inconvenience of the security guards almost getting me for coming into the security gate in a taxi because we went into town I mean it’s good the have really amazing security but come on we passed the security check checkpoint and they knew us lol but yea overall it was amazing! Highly recommend it!!

Nice resort. All different price levels of accommodation. We were in a premium sea view room which was very nice. The food in the restaurant was very nice and great service from the staff. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to stay and relax which is what we wanted.

Misibis Bay has improved so much based on previous years customer reviews I read. The staff services , cleanliness and the refreshing smell of the Villa room and all its linens and robes are very soothing . The quiet serene place is pure relaxation. I truly appreciate ALL the staff communication, excellent service in catering to my family private dinner by the beach in celebration of my 50th birthday . All 17 of my family were served with delicious 5 course gourmet plated dinner in a very timely manner , well decorated long table and well mannered staff . I love the huge bonfire wood set up that they surprised me . There are so much excellent things and meaningful experiences we had and would like to share to others so they too would experience the same . I wish to go back to this lovely place and be pampered again . We love you Misibis Bay staff . We are so grateful for the wonderful time and experiences you made us feel so special. It is embedded forever in our memories.

We stayed in a Beachfront Villa. The view was nice. Having our own plunge pool made it extra special. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was well taken care of.

The food was good, definitely an improvement since our previous visit. We arranged to have a private five course dinner setup by the beach, and the staff delivered above and beyond what I asked for. We opted for early check-out, and the staff offered packed breakfast to go.

There’s plenty to do. We swam by the beach and in their pools, while my partner rented a kayak. They’re repainting the resort and upgrading several facilities at the moment. I am hoping the upgrades are finished by the time of my return.

Overall if was a very pleasant stay. The staff truly made this a memorable visit. Special mention to Melanie at the front office for going above and beyond. Will definitely return.

Realty vs. expectations..

I used to love Misibis Bay resort but they failed to meet my expectations this time... e.g. Like some areas are dusty, the tea have molds already. The aircon system in the resto were not working, limited choices of foods, 1-2hours check-in and check-out process are not world class qualities. I understand that during this pandemic, they are understaffed but they can do way better... I hope that on my next visit, the services are already improved..

The amenities, location and scenery was spot on as a destination for an out of town vacation. We were lucky because there were very few guests when we were there and we had the place to ourselves. Only downside was the "kakanin" that was offered was limited to "kamote cues" - we were expecting more variety. Also, the corrals around the area used for snorkeling are showing signs of the global warming - like all other corrals in most places.

that high amount of price to stay I will say it’s missing a lot. The staff was excellent but the place is a bit old and also the brakefast was very simple. Nice pools but that’s about it.
Sorry to say but you have much to learn from better hotels.

This property is remote and therefore very quiet. One can hear natural sounds and chirping of birds and insects. Very relaxing. However, if one is looking for varied activities schedule your trip during the peak times. Hardly any activities to keep one occupied...except swimming in the ocean and in the three swimming pools around the property. Overall if one is looking to just kick back and relax this is the place to be.

The check in/out process took a long time, but good thing the front desk staffs were very approachable and accommodating. We had a nice view of the beach in our room. Our room was clean. The location was great. I appreciate the use of local materials made by association (sleepers and bayong for wet clothes) We enjoyed the snorkeling and wind surfing. Very accommodating staff. Chocolate mouse was delicious. However, sizzling sisig was overcooked in the hot plate. Overall, so far the best family trip.

No late check out even though the resort is 75% empty - Jude says the hotel is fully booked well in fact another staff said there are only 40 customers staying in the resort at that time. The bathroom is clogged and the shower is not working properly. No sinigang available whole day. But it is noteworthy to know that Jhay gave us attentive service. He is a great addition to the team. I’ve stayed in many legacy and luxury resorts around the world - Bali, Maldives etc so I know how service should be done. Overall, Misibis is just good but it could’ve been better.

Good place to unwind with family. Amazing view of Mt Mayon on the way, sunrise & sunset We stayed at a one bedroom beachfront villa & one deluxe room (pool view). Beach area is very small, you also cannot snorkel without a fee. Same as the other water activities - the only thing you pay for is the lodging, everything else has a fee. The resort is around 24km from Legazpi City. Will I go back? No, considering there are better beaches in the Philippines (cheaper too), nearer to civilization too.

This resort was an absolute disaster. Booked and paid for 3 nights but left after 2. No real beach, just crushed rock and shells. The food was a disgrace, first night I had linguine marinara. No shrimp, No mussels, No fish, No squid, just one pathetic tinned clam sitting on a mush of tomato soup and cold linguine. Next night ordered 3 entrees to see if could cook anything. Left all on table and left this place next morning. This place was empty, complete darkness after 8-30, it is on the slide, dont be one of the last suckers.

Check-in no problem. Huge cobweb in cr, probably there for months, otherwise room was clean, comfortable and housekeeping good.
Quality of food was mediocre, choices from buffet were limited and quite often patrons had to wait for some dishes to be replenished, the cheese-board disappeared for 30 minutes!! and it was obvious that some food had been recycled from the previous day. Last morning not enough cups for coffee, 3 of us were waiting for a cup each and the waiter brought 1 cup!
Very limited activities for active children under 12 years old.
Best facet: smiling and very helpful staff.
Overall: very disappointing

Favorite resort in Albay

Always a great stay here. My kids love this place and always sad to leave. We had our wedding here and been coming back since. Unfortunately this time the wifi was not working in the Pacific View rooms. However, with one issue I still don’t mind. We’ll definitely come back here everytime we are visiting the Philippines.

This is the best time to visit Legaspi. The January Mount Mayon eruption has scared off most tourists. Flights and hotels are clamoring for customers and you can get a great deal and very personalized service in one of my favorite areas of the Philippines. As an added bonus, on a clear night you can watch the orange glow of lava as it flows down the volcano. This is addition to gorgeous jungles, beautiful lakes, caves, waterfalls, surf beaches and whale shark tours. Is like a Disney fantasy image but real.

Misibis bay is expensive, but worth it. Given the age and quality of the other hotels in Bicol, Misibis bay is a real oasis, and now you'll probably have the whole resort to yourself!

OVERVIEW
Overall a very relaxing stay if you are just looking for a relaxing stay away the city life and just want to get away for a few days. But if your main goal is to relax on the beach, then this isn't one of the best ones, as the sand is not very fine.

ROOM
We were able to stay in the Pacific View Room on the 3rd floor and the view when waking up is just pristine. I would find myself just staring out the window and having a cup of coffee without a worry in the world.

STAFF
Stong point was the staff was polite and very accommodating to all our needs.

FOOD
The food was just alright for the most part. I did like the breakfast buffet selections for the 3 days we stayed there. They have the staple go-to items (eggs, omelette, pancakes and waffles, bread with butter or assortment of cheese, while mixing up the mains from day to day.

There was nothing special with their ala carte menu to note.

Good resort worth the visit

Relaxing off season visit quiet and hassle free. Only issue was a very limited menu not much selection. Great Margaritas and cold beer bliss!
Very helpful staff, clean good sized room, nice bathroom. Maintenance ongoing to the resort as to be expected but not intrusive.
All in all a good place to unwind as long as you want peace and quiet.

Amazing staff , locals are very hospitable .. being a bikolano I shouldn't be surprised . My only comment they should be aggressive in manitning the facility shouldn't wait till paints and wood like doors and siding start chipping away or start getting rotten knowing it's a tropical island rainfalls are expected, other than that this place is highly recommended . And maybe they should offer more promotion like free breakfast .. buffet are super expensive knowing they don't have a lot of choices .

Place was nice. Room very clean. Might need to improve the service- requested assistance for golf cart for check out but no one came. Multiple calls but none showed up. We end up carrying our own luggage to check out. Need more staff to oversee service team. It would be nice if there is a map and instructions for information of locations for the whole place. Garden view area needs attention for curbside appeal. Most of the staff are helpful and courteous. Otherwise nice experience for the family

Local staff are friendly. Location is great. However the rooms especially the bath/shower rooms are not well maintained. Lots of calcium build up and dirt along shower walls and doors does not line up so it is hard to close and some rooms you can't close at all. Not good for a high end resort.

The place and staff are nice but the staff are slow when you ask them for something and the front office struggled finalising the bills. There are plenty of wrong charges! Food are overpriced for its quality and choices. Especially for the new year's eve buffet there are very limited choices and the tastes were not great and they charge Php 1850 per person. Having been to Boracay and visiting Misibis Bay was a welcome contrast. What Misibis Bay has going for it is the serenity of the place and it's staff. Friendly smiles and the willingness to go the extra mile. Shout out to Conell and Jovelyn on the Dining Staff and the Front office staff who received us on Dec. 19th and helped us get to the room choice we wanted. They made up for the rainy day that almost spoiled it. The rooms were spacious, clean with the pool just outside your back access. Enjoyed the sunrise and the sunset when the opportunity presented itself. The resort offers beach activities, such as snorkeling, beach volleyball or soccer, jet ski, catamaran sailing to massages and city tours.

Dinning choices were limited to Ala Carte or Buffet and prices were skewed towards Buffet, on the Buffet the selections were limited and found the prices to be expensive. Food was a captured market in the resort as the town was an hour away drive each way. Night life is quiet, dining did offer a bar but would close too early for party owls.

In summary, Misibis is a great get away for couples, families or individuals who want quiet time on the beach cove setting. This a place for party animals as you will caged up. Food variety is the biggest downside of the place and the dining staff goes the extra mile to make up for this through their attentiveness and great service with a smile, Again, can't say enough for Jovelyn and Conell, the dining staff who were superb and h

Though our villa was comfortable, it was not the villa I paid for the stay. We were assigned to a different condo because the one villa assigned to me was not ready on check in. Villa 22 was a lot bigger and maybe nicer than where we stayed. Overall I think it was expensive for the price I paid.

With the restaurant .Disorganized.Make sure when you book for the hotel to indicate how many guest will be occupying the room or else they will charge you extra even though the room can occupy 3 persons max when you book.Pillow covers are old and faded.Buffett dont have much to choose from and expensive for only few choices.

Wonderful family vacation! Truly special treatment

We had a wonderful family time at Misibis! Thank you to the wonderful staff. It's like a never-ending road to get to the property. When we got there, we were greeted by the managers. We love the welcome drinks and the Misibis bracelet.

Rooms: We were then ushered to our villas. We love the decor, the layout and being able to jump to the pool from your outside sitting area. We had a couple of villas as it was a mini-family reunion. We had one right by the beach and the stand alone villa overlooking the beach has the perfect privacy.

Beach/Pool: We love the beach. It was not your white sand but it was clean. The aquatic staffs were very friendly, polite and nice. They are very detailed in instruction for your safety in the water. Thanks Mr Jake and Mr Alex. Our family thank you for a fun adventure in the banana boat. We will cherish those moments forever. The pool was lovely. We enjoyed the evening swim and the accessibility of it from our villas.

Restaurant: We appreciate you all! Andreas, the F and B manager made sure our family was well fed. The food was excellent. Love the variety. Thank you, Robert, Albert, Connell, Khevs and everyone. Continue to do a wonderful job because you are all good at it. I truly appreciate the birthday breakfast for our family and the birthday cake. You all made our vacation wonderful.

This place never failed to dispappoint from checkin 'til checkout! When we arrived as we went out our car we were greeted by 2 fine ladies and were handed drinks under the hot sun. Would have been nice except that we were expected to carry our own bags to our room while carryng our drinks.You really need to be good at multitasking as while we were walking we were being briefed about our booking which is part of the checkin process itself. Room was not as described in the website. We asked for a junior suite with 2 double beds but there was only 1 queen bed. The room was also supposed to have a washer/dryer but did not have any. When we asked the hotel reception about this, she came up with a brilliant lame excuse that they were referring to a hair dryer. Nice try! The room also did not have any coffee. We had to call 3x to finally get it. There were teas but no kettle for hot water. There was a computer speaker. Would have been ok but there was no 3.5mm jack provided. There was a big mirror but being blocked by a huge tv! The bathroom was huge. Double vanity but the other sink does not drain at all.

Bad points: Room was small for the price that we have paid. No microwave, electric kettle (though there's coffee brewer), nor luggage stand in our room. Took 2 hrs from initial call to actual food to be warmed up by the staff. Hotel food too pricey. If family wants to visit us in the resort, they have to pay entrance fees!!

Message to management: if you're taking microwave facilities out of the room, at least have prompt staff to attend to our request.

Great vacation but....

The food was very expensive! The room size and the amenities were great. The staffs are very polite and helpful. But they have to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms or villas. We stayed in villa 23 and I saw some water damage on the ceiling. I was bitten by cockroaches while sleeping on the day bed (it's not a pleasant experience!). I would say the white beach is small but very beautiful and the pools are well tended.

Exclusive hotel far from town

I received the warmest welcome here at Misibis. Staff are nice, polite, etc. However, you may be marooned at this place so better align your budget as some items are very pricey.

some bad reviews for misibis bay

Inside the room was ok but outside the room was dirty, we can see the moulds & other dirt because they have this glass wall on the sofa. I was expecting a wood flooring but instead it was a tiles. It has also some leaks on the window. On the shower, water will drip outside because it cannot be totally closed. for short need maintenance & repainting. Service was just so so. The beach was awful. Food was also so so
