First off, the resort was not easy to find since none of the people around the resort even knew where Club Punta Fuego was. We drive around the area for several times after being told about the direction by the locals themselves and the guard outside didn’t know how to redirect us. The rooms were too dusty and the bathroom shower heads were filthy and rusty, we had to ask the staff to clean them upon arrival to which they gladly resolved the issue. I thought there would be a beach access from the casitas itself but we had to go to the front desk first and be shuttled off to the beach area where we could swim. That was really a bummer.

What a great time! Great staff, fun facility and god the view was great. Did the infinity pool at night and I was the only one in there. Not sure why. Probably a rarity but it was sooo serene. Highly recommend. The golf course is a challenging executive course. Well, at least it was challenging for me.

Lovely place, very hard to get to.

The facilities were simple but nice. The double infinity pool was a spectacular sight and nice to swim in. There was a nice private beach where you could swim and also see plenty of fish if you brought snorkeling gear. There was a squash court, tennis court (not sure who would want to play that in the hot Philippine's sun), golf course, and a mini theatre (which was unfortunately closed as I was told it had fallen into a state of disrepair). There were various boat trips and water activities available from the hotel however the prices were borderline extortionate (20,000 pesos for a snorkeling trip!?) so I didn't bother with those.

The worst thing about this place was actually getting there as it is right at the end of mountainous terrain far away from anywhere else. I was horrified to be quoted a fee of 13,500 pesos to get there from NAIA, and was able to get a better price of 6000 back to Manila at the end of my stay, which was still quite a steep price to pay. Overall, unless you are actually living in the Philippines and have your own car, it is simply not worth the price and effort of traveling to this place. This was reflected in the very low guest numbers staying here.

We had a wonderful stay. The place is nice. The swimming pools in the clubhouse are big. There is a pool which is 5.5 ft. deep where swimmers can do their lapping. There are also swimming pools near the main beach. The beach's shore line is not that long but the sand is fine. All the staff are accommodating and courteous, be it at the reception or restaurant, including housekeepers, lifeguard and other staff. The food in the restaurant tastes good specially their sisig. The balcony in the room offers a nice view of the beach. The unit is spacious and clean. We are satisfied!

The common areas in the resort are beautiful. The views from almost every area is stunning. Infinity pools are a perfect size. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Massage was one of the best I have had, Mona did mine and Terry did my sister. The rooms need updating as well as the bathrooms, and the beach needs to be cleaned up, as there was a lot of trash on it.

Surprisingly Good, but not great

Our party of seven stayed for 3 days. All things considered, the resort is among the better ones you could pick to spend a family vacation that is within a few hours away from Manila. However, this had exclusivity to it with club membership requirements, and came with quite a large charge with the booking that was unspecified. The staff was very attentive so highest marks are deserved. The rooms were above average, breakfast was good, but the views of were top notch.
The resort has other amenities including golf and a couple of well maintained pools, but the main attraction for our stay was the water sports offerings - jet ski, scuba, snorkeling- very cool.

Overall value would be superior with more attention for pest control inside the rooms and facilities was observed, and Wifi was at least working. Neither were deal breakers for us to return here for another booking, but working Wifi would have made it a far better experience.

Wifi was very poor, many of the facilities were non-functional (media room, billiards room, no gym, mini-golf equipment-which we had to pay for-was in poor condition), spa was a little run down as well - but the massage was excellent and well priced. The various pools were magnificent for sure, that was a highlight. The beach at Terrazzas Punta Fuego (15 minute drive away) was the best beach by far, but not convenient unless you have transportation. The service staff were very nice and pleasant but reactive versus proactive.

We had a wonderful time in the swimming pool and the sea side.Down fall is the internet very slow, we need to arrange our own transportation to go to another club property, only one restaurant available, most of the food that we like to eat are not available from the menu, bar closing time is too early which is 11am as we wanted to enjoy the view of the sea side later at night with a nice wine and a cold beer.Most of the staff are friendly and helpful which is a very good point.

This is a self contained resort community. It is mostly for home owners but the hotel and nearby condominium tower at Terrazas offer accomodation. What makes it special is a feeling that its not really a hotel but part of a club. Very relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff and spectacular setting not too far from Manila. You really must have a car to get there though and its good to have one to see nearby sights as well as visit the other resort property at Terrazas where the best beach is. Property has a restaurant, bar, small spa, large swimming pools, squash court and 9 hole golf course. It is right on the ocean but not a good swimming beach. There is a shuttle that runs every half hour to the swimming beach but the best one is at Terrazas. Beautiful setting.

Club Punta Fuego - A Hidden Gem

We have travelled all over the Philippines including Bohol, Cebu, and Borocay, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel resort on this very scenic peninsula and to think you are only about 2.5 hours from Metropolitan Manila by car.... The resort overlooks the South China Sea. Fantastic sunsets. Good food in the main dining room with a separate bar up the hill, a mini movie theater... All reasonably priced.... We planned a one-night stay and changed it to two upon arrival..... Highly recommend...

Visiting Punta Fuego after 5 years, this time with family and it provided everything we has wished for. From the scenic casitas to the facilities and ambiance it provides and vegetarian food options. Facilities are well maintained. Staff is very polite and accommodating. Everything went extremely well and we are happy with our stay.

Couple of improvement points - lifeguard should be present at the beach and infinity swimming pool at all times, which wasn't the case both days 16th feb and 17th feb respectively. Gaming room needs an upgrade for sure.

Average With Amazing Views

Nice place with fantastic views. Great for a couples getaway if you’re lucky enough to enjoy the peace and quiet there without large families with little children taking over the pool area. Unfortunately, we did not. With a little polish (rooms and furnishings showing their age and wear) this place could be an amazing resort. Unfortunately, it comes up a bit short. It’s more of a destination. Like a lovers or honeymoon getaway. I was unaware that it was a gated resort with no nearby restaraunts or shops. This actually turned out better for us. We really liked it except it took us 4 hours to get to Manila due to roads and traffic.

Fabulous location but the hotel needs some work. No umbrellas poolside, no food & beverage service poolside either. Beach closed, Italian restaurant closed, no gin & tonics, just felt a bit neglected. Food very average. The pools are fantastic here, there's about five in total at different locations, which the hotel take you too via shuttle bus (only a few minutes).

The beach is nice, with water sports available. The restaurants are good, and buffets are served which adds a bit of extra variety to the menu. The breakfast buffet is good.

The overall location is fantastic.

Travelling to and from Manilla takes 2.5 - 3 hours.

The staff at the hotel were absolutely great, they couldn't do enough for us, they were fantastic with our 7 month old baby, and really helped out (they even took care of her whilst we ate). They have a nice little play room as well for babies and young children.

if you're in Manilla, I would certainly spend a few days here at least.

It would have been nice to beach comb closer but the staff got us down to lower beach. Our only incident was being bitten by red ants at Pizzeria down at lower beach.

Me and my girlfriend really had a great time in punta fuego, we celebrated her birthday and everything was perfect, the room, the pool, the beach, the staff and the food. We couldn’t ask for more, they even upgraded our room since the location of our original room is bery far from the mainhall and also the people at the bar was so nice they gave us a choice to order rice ( youll know what i mean once you get there) One thing though, is the light on their room is cery dim, but overall i highly recommend punta fuego especially for couples.

Discounted Luxury at it's Finest

My wife and I needed a break from a work based life. I had browsed and created an account with Expedia, so it was natural to visit their site. I have lived in the Philippines for 5 years now and we wanted to try a beach resort in Southern Luzon. I was attracted to the double Infinity pools extending out to the West Philippine Sea.What made the place more attractive was the approx. 60% discount/off season rates.We reserved a Casita Seaview Room for three days in late September2017. We took a bus and a tricycle since we are retired and didn't need the expense of car ownership. It was a bit hard to run the hills of the peninsula in a tricycle but it was still doable. Upon arriving at the resort, we found our room had a few defects (see below). We called the front desk and within the hour, they placed us in another room, bright, shiny, and clean. We loved the double infinity pools, the view of the cove, and the looming sea vista.
We had to use another location for beach access. But it was only a three minute free shuttle bus ride away. There was another pool and restaurant there, so the amenities kept on coming.
The food at the restaurants was excellent (3 mornings of bountiful free breakfast buffet also helped), the staff was superb, polite, friendly, and competent. Our room always clean and cool.My wife and I would have absolutely no hesitation about encamping the this resort again. In fact, the sooner the better.

I did not get to enjoy much because we were supposed to check in at 2pm however we were told the rooms were not ready. We were able to check in our room at around 2:40pm. You are not going to be able to get your room unless you remind the staff, they will not check until you come to them. The food is pricey and does not taste good. You do not have much choice with your meal since there is no nearby restaurants outside so you really have to eat inside. Overall experience was ok. The pool is nice.

Can't wait to go back

I had a great time with my siblings and my mother when we first visited last year that I resolved to take my own family to Punta Fuego. I finally did last week. It did not disappoint. We had lunch first while waiting for our room and were warmly waited on by Efren. That was a good start.

My hubby and my children immensely enjoyed the beach and we sometimes felt like we had our own private beach - not crowded the time we were there . I could have also just stayed in the casita with my book and would not have minded - it was that homey.

One thing, the hotel might want to get new duvet covers. Although I'm sure they're clean, they're probably 50% less white than when they were acquired.

Hope to see visit again.

Roach infested room with rat droppings in closet.

We booked a few days after the holiday season and they still had holiday prices- $260++ per night on a standard room. I had great expectations on this place because of the reviews. I was horrified at the room I was presented with... It was in the far corner of the line of patio rooms, had no window, was muggy, floors were slimy and had dead roaches, the shower wall (entire wall) rattled when you turn on the low pressure shower (very low pressure trickling water), and the sliding patio doors do not seal completely and if you wiggle the whole glass door a bit, the lock comes off. It looked worse than those cheap motels you see in horror movies- certainly not the almost $300/night after tax rate.The kiddie pool tiles were not cemented in place so some kids were taking them off and playing with them. The rest of the tiles wiggled when stepped on. The lifeguard for the kids area? Well, he was nowhere to be found and when I demanded one had to be there, they called him over from the tennis court. When I complained to the room manager, he said I have no choice because they were fully booked and I was stuck on that resort anyway since we were 3 hours (without traffic, 5-6 hours with traffic) from the main city. He was smug and curt. The next shift female room manager had worse attitude. When I said if that we are leaving, he said \"Go ahead, we can't stop you. I will just charge your card on file the full amount plus the hassle fee for cancelling.\" (FYI, CC is safe with Expedia)

Additional light is needed in side the room and bath room, the water in the shower get stagnant half way off the shower beside the door. for the price towel should be included not charge additional 50.00 pesos. The surrounding is clean the staff are courteous. I work from 7pm to 5am wifi connectivity is terrible.They have business room but you cannot access it until 10am and close at 5pm terrible. We are a group of 16

10 years ago we've always wanted to try and check in at Punta Fuego but before it used to be exclusive for members/home owners only. And now that we've finally managed to book, I believe that it really was an amazing place. I mean the location in itself, the view, the facilities it was great. But maybe because it is an old place some of the amenities are already not operational and the facilities are not well maintained. Like the faucets and shower heads that are already stained with water marks, the flush in the toilet bowl that needs a little kicking first before it works properly, some floor corners that has a stained grout and others. But all in all we enjoyed our stay and are still in awe with the wonderful place. Its just sad to see such a great place to not be maintained well after all its glory. I hope Management does something about it.

great way to enjoy nature in comfort

Great experience, really nice rooms, very polite & professional staff, great food. Never imagined we'll enjoy the place so much. Quiet place with sound of the waves to wake up to, this is how nature should be enjoyed. Not crowded. Enjoyed playing golf with nice ocean views. Highly recommended!! We'll come back for sure.

Upscale casitas and infinity pools

We said \"wow\" as soon as we enter the casitas. The place smells clean and luxurious (I guess lavender scents) and tastefully furnished with premium furnitures and designer beddings, upscale bathroom with rain shower and outside zen garden-like space. The beach is ok for Batangas standards but we stayed in the pools much more anyway. The children love the kiddie pool and the infinity pools are just fantastic! Breakfast buffet was great and the restaurant is overlooking the cape, very relaxing. All the staff that we've met were very cheerful and eager to help. Not crowded at all so we enjoyed our stay very much. I've been telling my family and friends about this hidden gem, it certainly exceeded our expectations. We plan to come back soon.

Very relaxing and romantic get-away.

Our room was quite clean and comfortable. The resort grounds and pools are very well kept up. There is a shallow kiddie pool if you bring your little \"curtain climbers\". The double infinity pool is very refreshing. The onsite restaurant has a fair variety and you can also go to the Lower Beach Club or the Yacht Club also for more variety.

I am a avid snorkeler and free-diver. There is reef access at the resort, but not much for just swimming as the reef is very shallow up to the shore and you need high tide to get into the deeper areas. Well worth the effort. The lower beach that the shuttle will take you too has a very nice beach with restaurant, pool, and shower facilities. The corals and other sea life there are amazing.

Really bad service for a classy resort

The aircon! We wouldnt know it was dripping until my son of 2 years old slip on the floor!
2nd, the wifi. It says here, there's free wifi, nope. Not true!Nosignal!
3rd,The ref is already at #7 coldest, it is not working! It sucks bigtime having to drink water at room temp on a hot weather!
4th, the sink in the bathroom! Clogged! Awful!
5th, why would they give us this room where the room next to us- 9c is under renovation, after a long road trip, all you would ever want is to take a short nap,We didnt get to nap coz of the hammering of the walls, banging and all kinds of construction noises, loud drilling! my much needed r&r - FAILED!
6th; the bathroom! So filthy! Needs a looot of cleaning!Yucky! Plus the bathroom towels, they're close to being rags, and the bath robes, too! No good!
The staff here should be more friendly! They look stiff and strict as if you're doing something illegal or is it discrimination?!sad to say that your fellow filipinos discriminate you as if you dont deserve any good service at all,a lot of foreigners are here but you should be courteous to everyone!
I wouldnt recommend it!
The beach? You would have to wait for the shuttle going to the beach every 30 mins which is not convenient, the beach doesnt have any umbrellas or those resting cabanas we can relax, you put your things on the sand
It is classy, the view is nice, but the service? It sucks! For the price we paid,it is not worth it! Stressful! Give yourself a favor, Try other resorts!!

Poorly managed.

Great place with stunning double infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Poor management cheaps out with slow internet, breakfast buffet with stale bread and no cook for eggs or omlets. Only mass produced eggs of low quality. Silly nanny pool rules mean no fun there. We stay every year for one night as we honeymooned there. We have told them these things before.

Good, but could use work

There were ants in our first room, didn't look like they cleaned it well before we checked in. They moved us to a different room and that was ok. Our family was in another room, and they had room service plates outside their room when they checked in. It wasn't theirs. They asked for them to remove it, and no one cleaned it up during our 4 days. Service was good, only issue was that they were not good at cleaning or resort maintenance.
