Its beautiful. Its affordable. It has nice amenities. But DO NOT give this property the time of day, go elsewhere!!! I promise you none of it is worth it. Long review, but at the very least, just know, if you like to sleep, STAY AWAY from here.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night, as we were in the Philippines for her sister's wedding. We stayed here the night before the wedding day. Our room was located near the property entrace, by the secondary pool. That night, around 50 Americans took the opportunity to party, play music, and sing karaoke from 11:00 PM until 6:30 AM. Yes, the entire night, no exaggeration. And as loudly as they possibly could. This property gave them 5 tower speakers and a microphone, and clearly no rules or guidelines to follow. My wife and I didnt sleep for 1 minute. It was impossible. As furious as we were with the people screaming into a microphone and blasting music for 7 hours, until SIX THIRTY AM, we were even more upset with the property. 1) for putting us in a room next to this bullsh** without giving us any warning (its a very large property with many options). And 2) for allowing like the 50 most inconsiderate people in world to do this, with absolutely no rules, time limit or consequences. This place is a total joke. All night my wife and I kept saying \"How are they allowing this?\", \"Is anyone going to stop them?\". \"Can someone at least ask them to turn it down?\" You can talk, laugh, enjoy your night till whenever you want, its your vacati

The location is excellent and we really appreciated the lakeside view we were given. The grounds are also very beautiful.
However, we felt that the resort really caters more for corporate and large parties. All 3 of the restaurants closed at 8pm. However they would happily stay open for a large party. We asked if there was anywhere on site to get a drink after 8pm and were told to go outside to the 7-Eleven and drink it in our room.
We had a reasonable stay, but most definitely would not stay here again.

MISINFORMATION

I wanted to warn everyone that what you see in the photos might not be a correct information. I booked 2 nights stay for New Year’s Eve and Jan 1. I booked lakeshore view family room, included in this particular room was a photo of kitchenette and I was expecting that we are able to use it since that’s a priority and necessary for New Years eve as we will cook and reheat whatever food we have for NYE. To my surprise, they wont let us use the induction cooker. So unreasonable they told us that the unit owner wont allow it, then why post the kitchenette photo if it’s not allowed to use? There was no indication that it is NOT allowed to cook prior my booking confirmation, we were only told when we were preparing for NYE dinner. It actually spoiled our night and the New Year. It’s crazy. ANd this reservation was prepaid.

The fridge won’t close completely. Wifi was weak. The AC was leaking water. I will not book to this hotel again, although the view is nice.. but everything else is not okay for me.

Please be specific in your info that some rooms are under UNIT OWNERS. And that they are not allowing to cook using the kitchenette!!!

I will definitely escalate my experience to any supervisor in hotels.com

Although the staff appeared to be friendly, it was obvious it was face value only.
The mattresses were rock hard and when the pillowcases were removed from the pillows, they were covered in mildew.

I arrived on a rainy day. From the reception, an e-vehicle ferried me to the residence/hotel building. To my surprise, there was no elevator and I need to go up to the fourth floor with my large luggage. No one helped me. The room smells like molds. Also, it was dark. There is no cellular network signal. I was trying to call the front desk to ask for help for a room change but no one was answering. I had to walk under the rain to get back to the reception area. They apologized and transferred me to a different room, an upgraded one. However, the room also smells like molds. During my first night in the upgraded room, two cockroaches were flying around my room. I was able to kill one but the other one escaped. The staff requested me to leave my room so they can disinfect and prolly kill roaches. It was a stressful experience.

Great community on the water. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and there was security in parking areas. The room and patio was clean. The patio door was a little hard to shut but we got it. The ac worked great and there's hot water! We only stayed one night but I'd love to come back and stay for at least 3. The restaurant near our room served a nice breakfast and the view of Taal Lake was beautiful.

The place is still closed. Somehow i was able to book a non-refundable booking there. I tried reaching them for confirmation but the 3 phone numbers I was given didnt work or no answer. I also tried reaching them by email with no response. They finally responded 5 days later in instagram that they were closed one day before my reservation. I want my money back.

Perfect getaway destination

Less than one and half hours drive from Manila, Club Balai is now my favorite weekend getaway destination in Luzon! We stayed in a premium room overlooking the gorgeous Taal volcano and lake. There is no in-room wifi which makes it perfect for family to bond. Safe location and tight security. Lots of trees for a breezy nature walk. Very relaxing and quiet surrounding. Beautiful houses too.

We only had issue when ordering breakfast. The staff does not seem to understand the continental set and other breakfast sets which took more than 15 minutes just to get our orders correctly.

Rip off transportation beware!

All good, almost 5 star but no transport available. Any taxi service will take about 2 hours to arrive and cost $100 even for 1-2 kilometres. It is incumbent upon all serious hotels to make provision for their clients to travel not to rip them off like this.

Stayed here as we attended a wedding. The venue for the wedding was absolutely gorgeous! The ambience of the resort is nice and looks great in photos. The food was good and the service was good. However, it is outdated and dirty. We booked a room with a supposed view but was given a room on the ground floor; a view of the sidewalk and parked jet skis rather than the lake. The a/c controls were broken and the a/c was on full blast. They “upgraded” us to their veranda, but it was crawling in ants. The third room we moved to was on the third floor and it was decent. Breakfast buffet was decent and the pools were nice.

Check-in was ok though we spent about an hour to do it. No assistance to go to our room assignment rather, a map was given and we located it on our own. Room was big but there was nothing except for the beds. Cable connection was bad and the favorite shows of my companions were not available. No comfortable seating area inside the room. There was a small table with 2 chairs and it's situated near a leaking air conditioner. No foot rugs hence when you come from the pool/lake you will practically make the entire room wet. Also, when we arrived there were no towels provided. Called the reception/front desk a few times and until I was scolding the receptionist real hard that's the only time the towels arrived.

The room given to us was near the water tank & pump, so the noise was really very very bad! Getting a good sleep was almost impossible. I wanted to transfer to another room but my parents who are already seniors were too tired so we just had to bear the noise.
We stayed for 2 nights and they don't offer daily cleaning of the room. They just gave us a set of towels on our 2nd day. I asked for bottled water which the attendant never delivered to us.

The pools were very nice. Their biggest pool was nice except that a bigger portion of the pool was deep so the people were concentrated on one area and 60% of the area was unoccupied since it's deep. Water quality at the aqua park will make you sick and will make you think twice to play.

Lake water is dirty.. facilities sucks

First of all, i bookd a room on the first floor because my mom is 87 and she cant go up and down yhe stairs. But they put us in on yhe 4th floor. Its ok because they had an elevator. But in the room itslef, all the beds ar upstaurs so my mim had to ho up and down.. so no use. And they wouldn't let us transfer because they said its full. I paid 34k for that? Good thing nothing happened to my mom.

Lake water is so dirty you wouldn't want to swim there. They should maintain the cleanliness of the lake. Its such a shame to foreigners to see that kind of water.

Room was ok but there was no towels. ( had to ask for it.) AC in one room was not working. Oh my TV was not working. Curtains were a little bit dirty and they just made up a rod to hang the curtains so if we pull the curtains the rods would fall. NO HOT WATER . WATER WAS COLD. i was with my mom who us who again is 87 yrs old and she had to bear the cold water because they can't fix it. So dissapointing..

Good side, pool was big and not to crowded. Food was ok and affordable. They lack staff to attend to customers. Over all stay was dissappointing but we cnt do anything but just make the most out of the P34,000 pesos that i paid.

The receptionist just gave us a map and left us on our own to find the place which was not properly described. Timeliness and subpar customer service

Booked our stay at Club Bali on Expedia but when we arrived at the hotel, they can't find our reservation so they made us wait outside for almost 2 hrs for a check-in. We are just waiting there under the heat of the sun for check-in with no updates and not even an apology from the staff. There is no sense of timeliness from the staff and they avoid answering questions. If you ask them one thing, they forget about it until you follow-up.

Not only did we wait for 2 hrs for our room, when we got there - the room was a mess and has a lot of ants and dirty ceiling. The overall ambiance of the resort was nice but the sense of TIMELINESS and urgency is pretty much non-existent. Not even an apology or complimentary sorry for all the inconvenience we had. Flew 15 hrs to visit the the island but it was a disappointment.

There are some aspects of this hotel that were nice- like the hotel amenities and good location. The other aspects need improvement on. First of their staff- when at their restaurant, it takes forever to get someone’s attention and service is really slow. I would be still eating and having drinks and they would close up the bill while eating- it was really frustrating when I wanted to order more drinks and i would have the bill back to be corrected. Second, the room. yes it was clean for the most part, but our air conditioner emitted a very strange smell, the smell of mold. They probably don’t change out the filter every now and again so it gave that old moldy smell. The bathroom was okay- the glass door of the shower looks like it hasn’t been cleaned and can see old water markings. Water pressure was weak as well. It may be a good day trip place to go, but not for a long time stay

But the services are not ok. Most of their facilities were closed during weekdays! The spa was closed! The coffee shop beside the pool was closed! As per them, they only open those on weekends when the resort is full. This is a good place to swim and sleep only. Food choices were not impressive as well. I will come back here only for the Aqua Park.

This place is quite expensive but has terrible room. Dirty, old, infested with pest, tap and flush are out of order, aircons are old and noisy (still cold though). Ylang-Ylang villa should be abandoned. Requested for a change in room but to no avail. Some positives: food and the view are great. Definitely not coming back.

If you are looking for a resort with lots of activities then this one is for you. There are areas for jogging/walking, biking, basketball, billiards, etc. There are at least 3 pools and an aqua park. The rooms are clean alright but dirty beddings and garbage are sometimes found just outside the rooms.

We booked 3 standard rooms on the 3rd floor . All rooms were spacious and has its own balconies. Towels were provided. Soap , shampoo and body lotions were the only toiletries available in the rooms. Room #1 is good for 4 people , 2 queen size beds . View was not good as it was facing the roof of the other villas. Aircon was noisy . Room #2 was ok, 1 queen size bed plus a sofa bed with pull out . Room #3 is like the 2nd room . It was facing the main road which means you hear the passing cars and tricycles all day. Buffet breakfast was average. We arrived early and they allowed us to check in our rooms. Check out was no problem.

The customer's service are just fine,
The panoramic view of taal lake is perfect!
Most staff are courteous and approachable.

Some furniture and appliances (eg. remote controls and air conditioners are not working well!)

My advise is not to try to book in their Recto building (hotel) 4th floor especially room# 401.
May be other rooms and building are better. .
Quite pricy but you've got a perfect view. My disappointments are: no elevators (it seems like its an old building), no toilet bidet, remote controls of television and air conditioners are not working, AIR CONDITIONERS are NOT COLD !!! and I have to request for an electric fan just to change the room temperature, some stuff are not in your room compare to other rooms, daily room service (cleaning and change of bed linens , refill of tissues, soaps and complimentary bottled waters are by request - so you have to call).

Great location, our room had a view and veranda overlooking the lake and volcano which I loved. The room had a lot of woodwork giving it a charming cabin feel. There's a huge pool. It's an excellent property but a little run down. Much of it is in disrepair. One of the showers had no cuirtin.

We booked via expedia and my friend called the hotel 2 days before to finalize our rooms, that 4 rooms will all be together as we were all going to the same party. The day arrived and there was a loooong wait. None of the guests names seem to appear on their system so we were all just waiting in the lobby. They don't seem to be systematic in that sense.

Does the job, I guess...

A large property with great potential and nice swimming pools and views. However, lacks services and initiative. There are no bars or pool towels or anything else around the swimming pools. Wi-fi is only available around the reception area and even there a lot of time is wasted with dysfunctional (necessary?) logging in and passwords. Large rooms but catering for the local taste with a lot of space but not much else. I stayed for one night and it was very difficult / impossible to sleep with a large family in the neighbouring rooms, being noisy throughout the night and slamming doors. A floodlight was on outside all night, shining through a curtainless window. Also, as the facility seems to be used for wedding functions a lot, a lot of louspeaker music durind the day and evening, making it hard to relax around the main pool. Restaurant was ok but several items unavailable and menu requires google translate unless you are fluent in Tagalog. Overall nice place but could be much better.

Nice hotel with a good view of Taal Lake

There was a delay in the check-in process because the receptionist thought that my party only had a reservation for 7 people instead of 9. After few minutes, 9 people were allowed to check-in. We booked 2 rooms and during check-in, at almost 5pm, only 1 room was available and they still had to prepare the other room. There were very few guests so they should have prepared for our arrival considering that we came in 3 hours after the start of check-in.

But other than that small hassle, the place was great. We were able to attend 'Simbang Gabi' because the resort has beautiful church inside.

Nice hotel close to lake you don't want to swim in

Francis the bartender was fantastic! Very personal, fast, efficient, friendly great service!

The hundreds of ants in the hotel room was a nice touch! Thousands were residing on the balcony, under the tiles and in the wall/ceiling. Girlfriend got numerous ant bites on her face and neck, the big welts were a bonus for our pictures!

If you like swimming in weeds then this is the lake for you! I would say stick with the pool.

The sewage smell from the toilet was always a gagging experience!

I found it hard to believe that this hotel ran out of fresh coconuts when I saw workers harvesting them every day from the dozens and dozens of coconut trees on the property. They must have been for the hotel next door?!?

Needs improvement!

Check in was terrible. Made us wait for 2.5 hrs.
The room was ok, spacious for a family of 6. We got Agoncillo #408. Somethings needed to be fixed though just like the leaking AC on 2nd fl room. Curtains were filthy and the 1st fl bathroom smells terrible!
The staff were great, from the guards to the waiters in their restaurant. Food is ok! They have a lunch/dinner buffet ( 500/adult ) or ala carte. The resort has a classy ambiance.

It was a nice resort and our room had a great view of the volcano. The only real complaint I had was that they had a notice by the sink that said the water was not potable; however, they only provided two small bottles of drinking water for two people. If they know their water is not potable, they should provide unlimited bottled drinking water, or at the very least, significantly more than what they did supply.

Very good place...but

I booked on line at hotels.com but when I got there the check in staff was not aware of my reservation, and although they took the email confirmation as proof of booking, I think this is why we were placed on the furthest unit from the shore while it was obvious that there were other many units available that could have been in better location. Also, the lake is not for swimming although this resort more than make up for that shortfall for having 3 swimming pools, one is an infinity pool with the taal volcano as a back drop so awesome photo op location. Another minus is the dinner buffet. Being that there are no other restaurant in walking distance, the P650 price is a bit steep in my opinion for a non-5 star resort. Although I must admit that the quality of food was excellent. It's just not the 5 star ambiance where the price level is located in my opinion. Most guests during my stay opted for the take out pizza as the other option since the buffet line was pretty empty when we went through. Otherwise this was a very good place thus I'm giving it a 4 star.

Club Balai Isabel is the perfect place for our family to relax and enjoy fresh air. It is a quick drive from Makati via the skyway + SLEX and if without traffic, it's just around 1.5 hrs from home. The place is well-maintained, the rooms are large. They have 3 pools to choose from. They also rent out bicycles.

My favorite thing in that place is the fresh air and life outside the city. We will definitely go back

Never gonna stay or recommend.

No wifi, they have a room service but u can only get pizza in a box and sandwich to be sent in ur room with 20% charge. If u order other food u have to go pick it up urself in their restaurant. When we were at the restaurant the ordwr is very slow and when we asked for our bill the waiter told my gf to get it in the cashier as he is busy. Not acceptable!

Nice hotel but needs work

Beautiful scenery and not a thing to do there! The club itself has no events and the supposed water sports are always unavailable. The tennis courts use fishing nets. There is nothing to do in the surrounding area and the hotel staff have zero knowledge about the area. Seriously, I knew more about the town than they did.

Hotel could be nicer but it has deteriorated a lot. Pool is full of sharp edges which cut our feet up badly. Plenty of staff on hand but they still manage to take hours to server anything. Five guests were burgled during our stay (as you would expect).

The hotel puts on corporate karaoke on the beach at 130decibels until 1am most nights.

Nice volcano though.

Friendly resort on Taal Lake

Our room had a picture-perfect view of Taal Volcano. Furnishings were a bit worn but the room was clean enough and the air conditioning was nice and cold. Housekeeping did leave a used towel in the bathroom. There were two bath towels for the two of us and no face or hand towels or bath floor mat. We had to request for those and were eventually supplied with one hand towel and a floor mat.

Service all-around was very friendly and accommodating. Food quality was alright. The breakfast buffet was a full spread of hot and cold selections. Tip: Order the rich and thick hot chocolate from the kitchen. It's not on the buffet but apparently included if you ask for it since we were not charged extra for the two mugs we ordered.

They had Sunday Mass in their lovely chapel on-site. The chapel had the strongest cellular signal. Hotel wifi was free but practically non-existent in our room and in the restaurant. Cellular signal from our providers (the top two Philippine telecoms) was spotty.

Many families with kids the weekend we stayed and the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves in the pools and spacious grounds.

A beautiful and peaceful place to rest!

I love the place!It is perfect for couple and also for family who wants to rest and feel the beautiful creation of God. It's good to wake up with the view of Taal and the sounds of birds and water...Very peaceful! The room and surroundings are clean. The people are very friendly and accommodating. We would love to visit and stay again in Club Balai Isabel! God bless!
