Sheedy's Country House Hotel has true character and an intimate atmosphere. You will be made to feel perfectly at home in this 18th Century country house in Lisdoonvarna, close to Doolin in County Clare where John & Martina take great pleasure in welcoming their guests.
Nearby attractions include the Burren, Doolin, the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. John Sheedy is an award-winning chef whose cooking has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for the past number of years.
John makes all the jams, marmalade and breads served at breakfast. For Dinner you can choose from the A La Carte Menu in Sheedy's fine dining restaurant or from the Bar Food Menu and relax by the fire.
It is advisable to reserve your table in the Restaurant in advance. The restaurant is closed on Sundays for dinner.

By far my favorite accommodations on our two week trip. A truly beautiful setting and wonderful rooms, we had a restful and peaceful time. The dinner we ate upon our arrival was spectacular, I wish I had asked to meet the chef, my husband said the appetizer was the best scallops he has ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was sublime!! The woman who appears to be in charge of all aspects of the facility was very professional and friendly. If I am every lucky enough to get to Ireland again I would definitely stay here!!

We only spent one night but it’s somewhere I wish we could have stayed longer. Only about 15 mins from doolin it’s all a very charming part of the country a must stay! The two women at the hotel were so kind and welcoming and made the most scrumptious breakfast for us! Stay here you’ll love it.

An absolute gem of a hotel in a lovely part of Ireland. Lots to do in the local area and a typically Irish warm welcome. Food was great, the room was spacious and comfortable with good facilities. This had a nice old-fashioned country hitel feel, but with all the modern conveniences one could want. I cannot recommend Sheedy's highly enough.

There is nothing i didn't like. On the contrary, i found many things i totally loved. As Martina's hospitality, and warm smile, John's cooking (oh wow), the home feeling in the whole residence, the unique ideas they have for their guests (as amazing light woolen blankets instead of duvet!!!, so you can add or take off as many as you want), as the cozy feeling in all over the hotel,(living rooms, library, bedrooms) and i could go on and on.... I only wish i will return as soon as possible with all my family.

One of the Best!
Sheedy's is my first choice when visiting the Burren, the Clifs of Moher and County Clare's historical sites. I love staying in period properties so I can experience history and Sheedy's has retained that feel while providing updated facilities designed to make one's stay more comfortable. I have experienced some of the best meals in Ireland at this locale. I highly recommend this lovely manor house facility.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Sheedy's. From the moment of our arrival, it exceeded our expectations. First and foremost, Martine (the owner we assumed) greeted us like we were old friends as she welcomed us into her home. Our room was so comfortable and inviting. When we were in Ireland everyday was sunny and warm. There is no air conditioning because it is rarely needed in Ireland, but I asked Martine if she had a fan that we could borrow and Martine gave us one immediately. When we arrived for dinner, Martine invited us to sit in the large, open foyer and gave us complimentary drinks and olives and told us to relax. The chef is excellent and the food and service is something you would expect at a fine New York city restaurant. Sheedy's was our favorite hotel we stayed at during our Ireland vacation. We will be back.

Delightful old-style lodge near the wild Atlantic
Sheedy's offers a modern feel for the old ways of life in one of the most unusual parts of the Irish west coast. First built in the 1930s, Sheedy's is still run by the same gracious family. The inn has been very tastefully updated with period furniture, fine beds, and modern en-suite bathrooms. Sheedy's has a fantastic restaurant that serves locally sourced ingredients. An old-time pub with live, traditional Irish music is a short walk. It's an easy and scenic drive to the coast and its magnificent cliffs, a variety of 15/16th-century castles, and the \"Burren\" -- an expansive national park. Enjoy a great traditional Irish lunch with the friendly locals at Bofey Quinn's pub in Corofin. Galway is an hour+ north if you're in a hurry. Several ruins worth a visit lie along the way.

Amazing hotel near cliffs of mother/Aran islands
Martine, the owner, greeted us to her beautiful hotel near Doolin. It was clean, comfortable, charming, and an overall great place to spend the night between cliffs of moher and doolin for the ferry to the Aran islands. The dinner here was the best meal we had in Ireland and the breakfast was just as delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to any friend/family member!

We had a vèry nice stay,the bedroom was very nice, clean, and spacious,we had a very tasty dinner( rack of lamb). The breakfast was delicious, I would recommend forget about the traditional Irish breakfast and go for one of the other choices, like fresh Hake,or scrambled egg and smoked salmon.The host Martina was very nice , and appeared to have very high standards for the hotel.

Wonderful inn near the Cliffs of Moher
Stayed here as a stopover on the way to the Cliffs of Moher; it was so comfortable and charming. Every little detail was thought of - it was like staying in someone's home and the hostess thought of everything. It is located in a fairly small town but there are a few restaurants down the street and the inn also serves a very nice meal. The breakfast is wonderful. Would definitely recommend this inn.

An oasis of calm
We were greeted by Michele when we arrived and brought a welcoming cup of tea in out room. Michelle was very knowledgeable about the area and the hotel was well-equipped with books about the area, in particular the Burren, the object of our visit. The hotel was very peaceful, an oasis of calm. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was excellent, to a very high standard. Breakfasts were very good too. Michelle keeps a close eye on everything and we felt very well looked after.

We arrived quite late after driving all day. Martina was so lovely and gracious. Our room was huge and gorgeous. We hadn't eaten since the morning and Martina suggested a place to eat two doors down, which was perfect. The next morning we had the absolute LARGEST breakfast we'd ever been offered! Absolutely loved this place and wish we had stayed longer!

Martina is lovely, very welcoming and helpful when it came to advice on places to go. Food was excellent... both evening meal and delicious breakfasts, largely locally sourced. Room was large, shower hot and strong, well kept. Nice to stroll into the village in the evening and sample some lovely and lively local pubs with music. Highly recommend.
