The hotel is so big and has a large indoor and outdoor onsen plus sand steamed bath. It is quite entertaining. It is located right in front of the sea and the view is spectacular. It is very remote and quiet area so nice place to relax.

My 10 yr old did her own thing. I felt she was safe on her own and that’s saying a lot. I wouldn’t give her such a long leash in Austin Texas. No way.
We were the only foreigners over a two night stay and everyone was so nice and polite and accommodating.
The western style rooms are outdated and they’re still rocking the stiff mattresses they got in the 90s lol
The Japanese style rooms looked updated and they have ocean views but also 18K yen more dear.

The onsen and the sand bath is wonderful. The facilities, like shower, towel, shampoo, hair dryer etc. available after the above activities is good and convenient. The place is big and you won’t feel too crowded. The dinner is OK. The staff is very helpful and sincere, English and Chinese speaking is not a problem at the reception. Again, this is a good place to try the sand bath cause u don’t have any difficulties in cleaning up yourself with a mess.

Beautiful and welcoming entry path. Excellent traditional Japanese Kai Seki. Food was the highlight. The room is dated and small but acceptable. The whole property is so huge and you can feel a little bit lost. Not for travelers who prefer private and intimate feel. Overall, it’s a a good traditional onsen inn.

We were there to try the sand Onsen. Hotel property is huge. For a short stay one may not get to enjoy all the hotel can offer. I find it too big and impersonal. But staff members are ever so helpful.
Food was to expectation. For the sand bath, the added charge is Y1080 per pax in a all weather big shelter.

The western twin room is very bad. Strong smoke smells, mattress is hella worst can’t sleep well and made me up at 4ish am. Onsen hot springs and Services is great but not works for over $200 room per night. If you nice this beautiful hotel I recommend to pay more higher level Japanese room.

Luxury hotel, slightly old

Hakusuikan is a Japanese style onsen hotel. I loved the place because I like onsen very much. Because hotel has been expended for years, it takes time to find where I am and where I am going. It takes 10 minutes from my room to the onsen pool. The staffs are very kind and diligent. Kaiseki ryori was good and the servers were excellent.

Ibusuki Hakusuikan

Ibusuki Hakusuikan is an excellent onsen hotel that offers a complete spa experience with great service and hospitality. The onsen is located about a 10 minute taxi ride or 30 minute walk from Ibusuki train station. Upon arrival the onsen staff welcomes and assist you with checking in. The onsen facilities are one of the best that I have experienced. One must experience the hot sand bath which this onsen is famous for. All other spa services are available for reasonable costs. The food at Ibusuki Hakusuikan is excellent and well presented. My room was clean, spacious and had a great view of the ocean. Ibusuki Hakusuikan was the prefect place to relax and recharge my health. I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next visit.

Scenic and relaxing

We stayed at Hakusuikan in early spring. The train ride to the hotel was scenic, the hotel itself is located by the ocean and designed to include gardens and a museum featuring historical artifacts of Satsuma (Kagoshima). The onsen facilities are amazing too! There is an in-hotel hot sand bath - a must-try for travellers to Ibusuki.

The original room is very old and poor (they have 3 different buildings, old one cannot stay). The staffs are not helpful in the beginning and insist us staying in that room, since they don't have any room left and we can only upgrade paying surcharge. I was very unhappy as that room is not reflecting what I saw in hotels.com. We ended up talking to senior manager and he upgraded the room for us at around 9pm at night.
The new room is very nice, but the process of us getting into the good room takes too long, and too many arguments. Would provide higher score if they changed the room immediately.

Quite a lot tours staying in this hotel.

Onsen is wonderful. Good dinner.

This hotel is the most expensive I booked during my trip but the poorest experience. I emailed to ask if I could have refund if I were unable to come because of force majeure, the staff just cancelled my booking without explaining if there would be refund, and it took us some time for the room when we arrived (luckily there was still rooms left). In this case, we could not enjoy the dinner which was included in the price but they refused to make discount because of this. Fortunately Mr. Lai from HK is very helpful.

I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ibusuki!

Great onsen hotel and the dinner was spectacular. The indoor onsen was big and nicely decorated while the outdoor onsen facing the sea was great too.

Hotel staff were super friendly and they had staff members who spoke good English that made my stay super nice!

Great onsen resort for a relaxing break

We enjoyed our first experience of sand spa. Onsen facilities spread over a spacious setting with different functions for you to enjoy. Japanese restaurant was great, great food with nice presentation and taste, highly recommend. The vast green area with trees and sea facing view was excellent.

A big hotel with all amenities available in house including sand bath, water bath, swimming pool, many restaurants and food types. Hotel was very busy when we were there but staff handled the crowds well, clearly well trained.

Wifi ccan only function in assigned room, once guest leaves room connection is lost. Not sure if hotel can look into this.

One of the Best Onsen Ryokan I've visited! Amazing Onsen facilities and the Japanese chef serves first class cuisine. They also have Italian restaurant that serves very good Italian food if one get tired of having Japanese food after few days of stay. The Satsuma Denshoukan museum next door is a gem! Will go back for sure!!!

砂むし温泉の入り方については、事前に、もっと具体的に説明してほしかった。
長い髪が砂だらけになった。
小柄なため、浴衣の丈を、たくし上げることで調整せざるを得ないにもかかわらず、たくし上げに必要な紐が用意されておらず、帯一本で、上から無理やりしばることになり、前がはだけないか、とても心配だった。
写真のサービスがあるなら、利用したかったが、事前にきいてなかったので、申し込めなかった。

前の宿泊者が食べて落としたのであろう、アーモンドが落ちていました。

チェックイン後案内がスムーズで良かったのですが、もう少しウェルカムドリンクを頂いてゆっくりしたかったです。あとは朝風呂のオープン前に待つ間中庭を見ながら待っていましたが、もう少しゲートが奥になっていればベンチに腰掛けながら待てると良かったかなと思います。

是個適合放鬆吃喝泡溫泉

1.指宿的景點都很分散，如果不是自駕，搭乘大眾運輸很難逛幾個，雖然感覺蠻適合騎單車，但沒有看到在推廣。
2.白水館是薩摩藩有名的旅館，館區範圍很大，有2個溫泉區、1岩盤浴，付費沙浴溫泉體驗，也有一個戶外泳池(入住時間天氣還很冷沒有開放)。戶外區松樹造景很有意境，沿館區散步看海，也可以走入旁邊臨海步道。基本上，住進這就是放鬆吃喝泡溫泉。
3.從旅館到指宿車站搭計程車大約5分鐘車程，跳表不到900日幣，館方接送車只有去程15:15一班，離程9:30、10:10二班。如果搭配不上可以搭計程車。
4.館內的"薩摩傳承館"很值得付費一看，晚上拍建築物很美。
5.想要體驗燒酌，強力推薦旅館下午4點到6點的免費體驗。

部屋の窓から全面海が見えて朝日も正面から入り素晴らしかった。砂蒸し風呂は　とても気持ちよく大満足でした

しかし、砂蒸し風呂のすぐあとは　体がぬくもってるので気にならなかったのですが　夕食後に元禄風呂だけ入りに行ったとき　風呂場が露天風呂かと思うくらい寒かったです。体を洗う時もシャワーを体に当てておかないと　震えるくらいで　残念だった。

朝も　もう一度行こうかと思いましたが、あの寒さを考えると　行けませんでした。別の内風呂を利用しました。

趣味の将棋と砂風呂に興味があり年末休みを利用して二泊しました
砂風呂は温泉施設と直結してたのはありがたかった！
食事は夕食で和食とフレンチを選べてどちらも美味しかった！
