We were generally satisfied with our stay at Scandic Lahti City. The hotel has recently undergone a major renovation and looks clean, modern, and fresh throughout, which made a very good first impression.

However, the sauna facilities could be much more inviting. At the moment, the sauna area feels more like entering a large sports hall locker room than a relaxing hotel spa. It is also completely separated from the hotel, and you have to access it partly through the shopping centre section — not directly through stores, but via cold, echoing corridors, which takes away from the atmosphere.

There were no typical relaxation areas or cosy lounge spaces besides the main hotel lobby, which made the wellness experience feel incomplete.

On the positive side, breakfast was absolutely on par with the Scandic chain’s usual quality — a good variety, tasty options, and everything well organised. The breakfast staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating, which added a very pleasant touch to the morning.

Parking is convenient in the warm underground garage for €18 per day. It’s also a nice perk that you can walk directly into the department store from the hotel without needing to put on outdoor clothes.

Overall, Scandic Lahti City offers a pleasant and freshly renovated environment in a great location, with excellent breakfast service — though the sauna facilities could be made much more comfortable to match the rest of the hotel’s quality.

Ok, but in a need of remake

Check in was quick and friendly despite the late arrival. Room was clean and easy to find. However the hotel has already seen its best days and in a need of major remake. The rooms are kind of standard hotel rooms from -90s, kind of ok, but definitely far from fancy. I would also appreciate better mattress and especially the pillow, which had all sorts of uncomfortable lumps inside (I was too tired to complain about it though). Furthermore on site electric car charger would be superb, as the nearby shopping mall charger is only available during the mall opening hours.

Clean basic hotel, the room was a bit hot and we could not figure out how to turn down the heating. A small fridge, good TV, etc. A good thing the kitchen was open until 9pm. :)

Kylppärin suihkusta lensi vettä joka suuntaan. Kylpyhuoneen pöytä lainehti suihkun jälkeen vettä. Taso on Scandicilla valitettavasti romahtanut isosti. Tuohon hintaan ja neljällä tähdellä olisi hyvä tehdö joku remontti ainakin huoneisiin? Muuten ihan ok paikka. Keskeinen sijainti.

Room cleaning was a bit haphazard.
Superb shower.

Nice peaceful hotel

Nice hotel and well looked-after. Comfortable room and good service from friendly staff. It's nothing fancy but it's good value for a hotel in this region. Didn't have an iron in the room, which is unusual for a Scandic, but they did have an ironing room downstairs with the saunas. The restaurant was closed on the night I arrived as it was a Sunday, and Lahti itself isn't the most vibrant of places for eating out on a Sunday night! It's a quiet hotel in a quiet town, but it is well-placed in the centre and was very handy for my appointments. Easy to get to from the station too - nothing is far away in Lahti.

The hotel is open 24 hours to any time arrival is a big plus point along with park, but this costs around 10 Euros a day or every 24hours, not bad if in the centre of Helsinki, but a bit expensive for a car park that's mostly empty. However, a strong point is that its on site, and that's the best aspect of this hotel.

The room condition is poor with worn floors and leaking showers, however, they do clean try can clean what's there. However, in my room they emptied the bin and left the bag on top of my luggage, so they got a poor rating for this. also, on my 5 days there my room was cleaned once and towels never replaced.

The breakfast is below average and the condition of the resturant lower half near the bar is very poor, the carpet has not change in 10 years since I've was once there, if not 10, at least 8 (2009). The resturant area near the reception is better, average, the rest is below par.

I would rate the hotel as a 2 star.

The Staff are polite and nice, so with Parking - 2 stars

A Practical Business Hotel in Lahti

I stayed at the Cumulus to attend the annual Classic Motor Show. The hotel is located downtown and was a convenient place to stay. The large parking garage was secure and very easy to access.

The hotel is clean with friendly staff and a large restaurant and lobby bar for easy meetings.

Arriving blind for the unknown

We arrived for the annual Finlandia X country ski race, not knowing how 3 Brits who have never x country skied would fare. The comfort of a well positioned, well run and with a good social restaurant and bar scene with good food and drinks certainly made it all the easier on us. Perfectly happy to recommend this hotel as long as you are not seeking 5* luxury.

Lived there with a co-worker. The hotels location makes it very comfortable to reach everything and at mornings and evenings - the taxi cars were always standing outside the hotel.
Overall the hotel is really worth the money. Will revisit it again.

Great location and good value for money

The hotel is nicely located in the city centre, with plenty of taxis across the street.
My room was clean, and quiet until my neighbour started to shower at 6am.
Hotel staff is helpful, and breakfast good and varied.
I might try another hotel if back to Lahti, but still think this one offers a good value for money.

Excellent Centrally Located Hotel

I stayed here with my wife in June 2013, visiting friends in Lahti. This is an excellent centrally located hotel. Complimentary Buffet Breakfast is included and has typical ample Scandinavian choices. Would recommend this modern hotel for both leisure and business. Staff all spoke excellent English and went about their business very efficiently and courtiously. Would definitely stay here again.

Very average hotel in scruffy location. Rather expensive for the standard of room and facilities you get. The hotel is run down and in desparate need of a revamp. Room ready when we turned up but we had asked for a cot and kettle as we were travelling with a baby. We were told kettles were not available in standard rooms. We only wanted it to make baby milk but they made us upgrade to a superior room so we could have this \"luxury\" facility. We had a superior room but it was very average. No wifi, movie channels or any other facilities included with superior room. On our return from being out on Sunday seeing friends I went to reception as the room had not been cleaned and no new towels which had been left on the bathroom floor as requested. The receptionist stated that there are no housekeeping staff on Sundays. You collect your own towels from reception and the room stays uncleaned! The room rate remains the same and no where is this stated upfront. My wife is Finnish and we stay a lot in Finland when we visit there from the UK and this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. I don't recommend it. Stay elsewhere.

Ravintolan palvelu todella huonoa. Ceasar- salaatin ja täytetyn leivän tulemiseen meni tunti ja ravintolassa oli muutama asiakas, naapuripöytään luvattiin jälkiruoka myöhästymisestä, meille ei.
Ei ole nykyaikaista toimintaa, myöhästyä voi ja voi olla myöhässä mutta siitä infotaan ennen tilaamista ja snaksit on keksittty jos pitää odottaa

Hotelli oli täysin hiljainen, mikä oli hieno asia. Koko vuorokauden ainoa moite koskee sänkyä: se oli liian kapea, unessa jopa häiritsi pelko siitä, että sängystä saattaa pudota lattialle. Olen varma, että valtaosalla vieraita on kotonaan leveämmät sängyt, joihin he ovat tottuneet. Aamiainen oli maukas ja monipuolinen.

Erittäin hyvä perushotelli

Juuri sellainen hotelli ja majoitus kun vanhalta Scandicilta odottaa. Henkilökunta oli oikein mukavaa, yleiset tilat ja huone siistit ja opasteet kaikkiin paikkoihin löytyivät helposti.

Aamupala on sama kaikkialla, mutta tässä hotellissa pääsääntöisesti mikään ei ollut missään välissä kokonaan loppu. Siitä siis iso plussa että ainakain tänä viikonloppuna aamiasipöydästä pidettiin hyvä huoli!

Huoneen numero 354: vessan ovi ' naukui ', varmaan kuului naapuriinkin. Televisio-ohjelmat katkesi vähän väliä ja aamulla ei saatu enää auki ollenkaan. Nuoriso melusi yöllä kadulla ja kaasutteli vähän väliä autolla. Ei saatu nukuttua edes korvatulpilla. Aamiainen oli hyvä ja ystävällinen palvelu respassa. Arvosanaksi antaisin 7.

Kulahtanut hotelli, huoneissa ei ilmastointia vaan tokmannin halvin tuuletin mikä pitää karmeaa meteliä. Kaikki pinnat kuluneet ja todella epäsiisti yleisilme. Vessan lamppu vilkkui kuin paremmassakin diskossa. Hinta ja laatu ei todellakaan kohtaa, kaikki edellä mainitut on ok alle 100€ / yö maksavassa majoituksessa aamupaloineen, ei melkein 200€ maksavassa.

Aamupala oli ihan ok.

Huoneessa ei toiminut ilmastointi eikä huoneessa ollut jäähdytystä. Huoneen lämpötila oli 30 astetta, joka teki täysipainoisen nukkumisen mahdottomaksi. Huoneessa ei ollut jääkaappia eikä minibaaria. Huoneen ikkunoista oli näkymä rakennuksen katolle, joka oli sammaloitunut ja johon oli jätetty lojumaan kattohuopapalasia. Hotellissa ei ollut sähköauton latausmahdollisuutta.

Hotellin aulatilat ja ravintola ovat vielä siistit, mutta muuten majoittuminen täällä on kuin aikamatka 90-luvulle, ilman mitään kivaa nostalgiabuustia. Suurimpana miinuksena paikalle on ilmastoimattomat huoneet, minkä vuoksi huone oli 30-asteinen pätsi.

Loistavaa asiakaspalvelua, herkullinen ja sopivan monipuolinen aamiainen. Huone oli mukavan kokoinen ja kylpyhuoneen taso ihanan iso. Huoneessa oli aika kuuma, piti tuulettaa ikkunan avaamalla huoneessa ollessa. Tyynyt oli aika huonossa kunnossa, niska oli jumissa yöpymisen jälkeen ja pää tuli kipeäksi.

Hotelli on pahasti jäänyt jälkeen nykyvaatimustasosta. Huoneet ovat epämukavat kaikkinensa. Verhot, valaisimet, kylpyhuone - ei enää tätä päivää. Alakerran vastaanotosta pitää kävellä ruokailualueen läpi hisseille/portaikkoon. Sama toistuu aamupalan yhteydessä. EI hygieenistä eikä mukavaa. Ravintolatilat ja aula on erittäin synkkä mihin vaikuttaa valaistus sekä valitut materiaalit.

Epäsiisti, kulunut huone. Kaikki elektroniikka huoneessa oli rikki, mm. oven lukko ja sisäpuhelin. Huoneen haju ja lämpötila olivat epämiellyttäviä. Likaisen tahmeat hanat ja homepilkut kylpyhuoneessa loivat mystistä tunnelmaa. Asiakaspalvelu ok, mutta muuten hintaansa nähden huono kokemus. En suosittele.

Muuten hyvin toimi ja palvelu pelas. Sisäänkirjautuessa asiakaspalvelu oli huonoa, ei törkeää, mutta huonoa. Asiakaspalvelija ei ollut vastaanottava ja teki kaikki asiat aikalailla pieleen palvelukokemuksen puolelta, tuntu olevan myös kiire vaikka ei ollut muita jonossa. Yleiskuva hyvä hotellista.

Saunassa saisi olla jakkara pesutiloissa, että huonokuntoiset pystyisivät peseytymään kunnolla.

Baari ja ravintola eivät olleet auki, niin olisi odottanut, että Lobbybarissa olisi ollut kaikkien suosimaa lonkeroa tai edes olutvaihtoehtoja. Lähtiessä 25 yli 11 siivooja tuli huoneeseemme koputtamatta... ja parrn min päästä oveen koputti 2 naista. Luulin, että checkout aika on muuttunut ja lähdimme heti huoneesta, vaikka edessä oli useamman pysähdyksen matka Saloon ja piti levätä loppuun asti, siis klo 12 asti. Harmitti ! Ennen oli paremmin !---

Yö Scandicissa

Hieman kuuma, kunnes hoksasin avata ikkunan. Sänky ei ollut paras mahdollinen selälleni. Ravintolan päivällinen la 15.8. oli erinomainen.

Kaksi yötä elokuun 2020 alussa

Majoitus sijaitsi mukavasti keskustassa. Kauppatorille 5 min kävelymatka. Hotelli oli nähnyt parhaat päivänsä jo jonkin aikaa sitten. Parkkihallista pääsy vastaanottoon oli mutkatonta. Huoneen ilmastointi ei ollut riittävä, kun ulkona lämpötila kohosi +25°C tasolle. Huone oli puhdas tosin kulunut. Ikkunat olisi voinut pestä useammin. Aamiainen vastasi hotellin kuvauksessa kerrottua tasoa.

Huoneessa oli hiukan liian kuuma. Tyynyt meidän makuun liian korkeita, joten yöunet eivät olleet parhaat. Aamupala oikein hyvä ja järjestelyt sujuivat. Asiakaspalvelu ykkösluokkaa, kiitos.

Huone oli tunkkainen,eikä siellä ollut jää- tai baarikaappia. Scandicit mainostavat ottavansa aamiaisella hyvin huomioon erityisruokavaliot. Pöydässä ei ollut oikeastaan mitään. Missä tahansa muussa hotellissa tähän mennessä on gluteenittomuus otettu paremmin huomioon.

Hyvä mutta kaipaa ilmastointia

Hotellin sijainti on loistava. Parkkihalli on hotellin alla. Henkilökunta on ystävällistä. Mutta ilmastoinnin puute tekee nukkumisesta kesällä aivan sietämätöntä...vaikka ikkuna olisikin auki, niin huoneet lämpiävät päivällä ihan saunoiksi.
