This hotel itself is very nice but the location is also the star. It sits on an incredible seaside walkway that has incredible beaches and views. The road down to the town and hotel was narrow and winding but well worth it! Great breakfast and beautiful pool areas. We went in October so we missed the crowds which was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Updated room with great view of the sea. Beachfront property on some of the nicest stretch of beach in Croatia. Close to restaurants, shops, market, bakery, atm, marina, boat rentals and excursions. This was our second time at a Bluesun in Brela and we’ve already decided to return in the future. Staff and location were VERY kid friendly. We loved the proximity to the playgrounds and kids attractions.

Beautiful location, great property and staff. Our only criticism is that it feels very tight. Whether it’s the valet parking (takes at least 30 minutes), the crowds at the buffets or - the worst - the crowds at the pool. One urgent plea to Management: PLEASE prevent folks from blocking pool chairs without lying down. After 9 am everything is blocked and nobody is there! This really tainted our vacation negatively.

We loved everything BUT
The first night we had control of the air conditioning
However the second night we did not and it was uncomfortably warm (23) we went to the desk because the phone in our room did not work and they said they would be up to adjust and never came so we went down 3 times and the man said it cannot be adjusted so we had a horrible night sleep because of that!!!!!! We loved the food and location but this left a bad taste and when we told the front desk as we checked out he said nothing!!! Very disappointed with that but servers were all very kind, better than the front desk. We should be able to adjust our temp in the room we paid for !!!!

Okay experience - could be much better!

Good design/architecture, comfortable rooms (we slept well!) and some nice staff members, shout out to Krishan who works on the pool bar - he was very welcoming everyday.

Pool is too small for hotel and never possible to get a sun bed due to typical reservation tactics and the hotel does not monitor or enforce its policies of this not being allowed. I mentioned the issue to the hotel reception - they acknowledged the issue but didn’t want to be involved and said I have the right to remove the towels.

Food was okay - breakfast is great selection and no problems here, whilst the dinner is very average. Worth noting that on penultimate day of holiday I was struck with severe food poisoning and was bed bound on the final day.

Location is great if you want to relax and enjoy a pebble beach with crystal clear waters. Good snorkelling spots and paddle boarding. Go in September as this area is far too busy in peak summer. Be warned that it’s 22euros for 2 beds and a parasol! Nice promenade for walk with some restaurants and bars, but no traditional shops or streets to explore. The mountain provides good hiking and cycling trails but make sure you are well stocked with provisions.

Hotel is newly renovated and in great condition, but there are a few odd things missing - why they didn’t paint the outside bleak concrete to make it more appealing? Once inside the hotel is beautiful. Rooms are very small - NYC small, and double room is two twin beds ( together or apart). Bathroom has a weird 1/2 glass wall that looks into the room - couldn’t understand the purpose of it. Privacy is not an issue since they put the curtain over it, but the issue is if you need to use the bathroom at night - the light will wake up your travel companion. It could be easily remedied by blackout curtains but no one thought of it. The whole set up also makes the mirror almost unusable. Only 1 small and 1 large towel per person, although maid was always happy to give extra if asked. No beach towels - or at least no one informs you how to obtain them - I found by chance that you pay 5 HKN per towel and you can get them - again odd for a 4* beach property. Breakfast buffet was good but closes early 10am. Restaurant on site was tasty. Very friendly staff everywhere. Lovely spa and indoor/outdoor pool. Gym is small and lacking some basic equipment but overall not too bad. Hotel has no beach chairs or loungers for the guests so you are on your own finding the place on the beach. The best part is the Brela itself and the amazing nature around the hotel. All in all, lovely stay, would likely to return.

Amazing location and nice atmosphere but service could be improved. You need to rent beach towels and they don’t seem to have everything under control when you ask for assistance with transfers or excursions. Overall satisfied with our stay! Ask for a room on the northern side if you are a light sleeper as there is a church bell close to the the reception which rings every hour and morning call at 6 am.

Beautiful hotel in prime location. We did half board and the food was average. Breakfast was decent, dinner just ok. The room was spacious and clean (We booked a junior suite). The view is covered by pine trees, so don’t select this property for the ocean view, although just as wonderful. The main issue for us was parking. The hotel is an hour away from Split airport, so we rented a car. There is no parking on property and valet will drive your car to a parking lot two blocks away, but they refuse to bring it back, so you have to walk and get it yourself. Keep in mind this is a walk on the hills (Not easy and very narrow roads in and out of the parking lot). Beach towels are not free and you can only rent them at the spa. Even though they are a beach front property, you have to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas (Public beach). We would stay there again if they had better prices, not worth what we paid for.

Incredible service, lovely setting.

Bluesun Hotel was a solid, 3-4 star hotel experience on the Dalmation Coast. The property is well maintained and offers beautiful setting/views and convenient access to the beachfront. Everything was clean and in good condition both in the room and the facilities. Service was especially good. Our waiter at the hotel restaurant was extremely friendly (especially to our 7 year old daughter) and very attentive. The next morning we were 20 minutes late for breakfast closing and the staff offered each of us a full plate from the kitchen with coffee and drinks. They were so kind! The concierge was also amazing. She helped my wife track down aspirin after-hours and helped us book multiple ferries for later in our trip.

The one negative part of our experience was that they could not honor our booking of a seaview room upon arrival. However, it was a late arrival and the staff gave us a large suite as compensation. They were also able to move us to a seaview room the next day. Again, service was excellent and staff made every effort to smooth over the mix up. Securing our seaviews was a problem throughout our trip as we stayed at multiple resorts for only a few days each. I recommend making longer reservations at fewer properties if the particulars of the room are important to you.

The parking situation did not run as smooth. I had to walk down the stairs to check-in. Staff did not assist us to park our car and instead showed us where to park. Then i had to wait for him to walk back and forth to get a parking tag.

The hotel staff also did not assist us with our luggage during check-in. We had so much luggage that we struggled to bring it up. The least they could’ve done was to provide us with a luggage cart.

I’ve messaged them saying it was a birthday celebration, they did not do anything special. They also didn’t offer paid welcome amenities when I inquired, I would’ve done so if they did.

The partial sea view was more of the front parking lot and trees.

Breakfast was ok. I’m not sure why they have chose to serve instant coffee.

I would choose another hotel in the future.

The hotel was in the nice area. Views are beautiful. Promenade along the sea cost is very romantic. However upon our arrival with little baby the room was not prepared and the locker was out of order so we couldn’t get in. We had to walk down to reception several times until they sent someone to fix the door. It was very inconvenient for us as the baby was crying and we couldn’t settle. The treatment in the spa doesn’t much the description. Other than that a lovely place to stay as the views are beautiful.

Very welcoming staff who responded quickly and without delay to an issue with our room just after check in and were able to move us without any fuss.
The hotel was kept to a high standard of cleanliness and the facilities were v good. Would return/recommend; especially good for families.
The only slight concern was the parking- you leave your keys with reception who then park it off site; since we had a hire car, we worried about it being dinged but actually it was fine. Oh and there was a music festival for 2 nights of our stay (out of their control) but we had ear plugs so was all fine!

Brilliant stay. Haven’t done half board for years as usually self cater but was pleasantly surprised. The morning breakfast buffet had ample choice and the evening was nice maybe not catered so much for English cuisine but lots of nice choices none the less.
Rooms were really clean and newly referbished. Check in and out was easy. Hotel was great location with regards to the other shops and restaurants. Will definitely return! Lovely lunch at the Punta Rata beach restaurant suitated 5 minute walk along from the hotel.. also part of the Bluesun hotels chain.

Amazing location. Hotel right on the shingle often bright blue beach. Water is crystal clear and very clean. Sun sets are spectacular. This is a stunning part of the world. Room was great, definitely go for sea view. Everything is very clean and staff are keen to please if not a little shy. But that’s cultural. Wouldn’t go for half board. B&B is fine. Dinner buffet is decidedly average and menu fatigue quickly sets in. And the wine is quite expensive. So you’re better to eat and drink locally. The place is great for kids and young Families. But it’s still also fine for couples. Avoid kids pool if you’re not a parent with young ones, no surprise there. Main Pool is lovely, despite the ‘no putting towels on sun beds before you lie down on them’ rule, this is ignored, and by day 6 we joined the rest and got up early to bag our beds. Tonnes of a wide variety of restaurants moments either side of hotel for a wide range of options. If you want more than the basic Obid is exceptional and very close. Trip advisor is surprisingly accurate for restaurant reviews. So take your pick. Not sure the hotel night time entertainment was up too much. Lots going on that’s better elsewhere. This definitely isn’t party central. It all goes quite by mid night. So if it’s clubbing and dancing this ideal. Recommend ‘clickandboat.com’ to hire your own boat to go island hopping. Not massively more than the packed out group boats and a lot more fun. This is a truly wonderful place. We will be back.

Our bathroom, on the other hand, was over-heated. Our double bed was two singles that were prone to sliding apart and away from the wall. The room was otherwise pleasant and clean.

We had a wonderful stay in Brela. The hotel is spotlessly clean and modern; both the rooms and the communal areas are lovely to spend time in. The food is without a doubt the best we’ve had in a hotel buffet, really fresh local produce and lots of great flavours. Often hotel food can be bland in big hotels but everything was delicious! We also really enjoyed the cocktail bar. The surrounding area was beautiful and the prices in the bars and restaurants so reasonable. Loved it!

The style, staff and location made this hotel for us. Its bigger than online images give the impression of with many more hotel guest than I expected.
Still there is plenty of room around the big indoor/outdoor pool and even more room on the pebble beach which is endless in a sparsely populated part of the Brela Riviera. Much more relaxing and classy than the touristy Markaska down the coast.
The food was good and staff ever helpful. However there could be some small improvements that would make this hotel a true 5/5 for me. The two larger, and nicer, bar areas were closed leaving a small outdoor bar area on the hotel doorsteps the only option with a rota of two, nightly performance acts that were nice the first time I saw them... The pool table was out of the way and I couldn't find any table tennis table. The tennis courts advertised were located at a different blue sun hotel 15 minutes walk away, which we didn't bother to try. There was also a golf simulator that had been left broken and disused.
Overall a very nice and pleasant stay but frustratingly a few aspects of the hotel that have been neglected which could have made it so much more!

Beautiful hotel with very pleasant staff. It’s in a fantastic location being right on one of the most beautiful beaches myself and girlfriend have ever been too plus being surrounded by breathtaking mountains. The food that’s provided at the hotel is perfect with lots of different varieties but if you wish to eat elsewhere then there’s plenty of different bars and restaurants all along the spectacular promenade.

Fantastic location, right on the beach, near shops, restaurants with a walk along the water that allows you to access several beaches and adjoining villages. The hotel is modern, exceptionally clean, balconies with great sea views, and all the ammenities you could want ( indoor pool,outdoor pool, spa). We had half board, and the meals were well prepared, plenty of fish and local specialities, and breakfast on the outdoor patio overlooking the water was a great way to start the day. The most outstanding feature of the hotel was it's staff, from the front desk where they ensured a small problem with our room was not only rectified, but they continually tried to compensate us for a very minor inconvience, to the dinning room personnel who ensured our wine glasses were full, and took the time to talk to the guests, not only about their meal, but answered questions on the local area and Croatian life.
Overall a wonderful experience, that has encouraged us to start planning another holiday to the Bluesun Soline

The hotel was chosen due to the proximity of the beach. And the hotel is just on the beach.
The rooms are newly renovated, the is a few minor flaws. The beds are very soft and uncomfortable. The pillows are cheat fiber material. The view through the windows is great, but the curtain block half the window opening. The bed is facing the wrong way. When lying in bed you just look at a concrete wall. If they placed the bed up against the opposite wall you will be looking at the sea and the beach! Otherwise the room is well made and equipped.
At Check in the hotel provided a local sim card. It included 500 mb free data (in addition to the free WIFI).That is great service.
the breakfast is good and there are a lot to choose from. The coffee is just terrible. You can however buy Espresso at extra cost. But at a hotel which cost 200 EUR per night you expect that a good cup of coffee is included!
the entertainment was good. Specially for the kids the shows were good.
All in all a good hotel for single/couples getaway

Nice property across from the beach.

We had a very nice room with a small balcony, overlooking the ocean. The hotel was right across from the ocean and beaches, as well as easy walking distance to restaurants and allowed for nice long evening strolls along the beach path. A nice, quiet, small town resort feel. The water clarity is amazing and we loved the beaches. We would have given the hotel a 4 star, but for a couple of things that we thought were a bit lacking for the overall quality of the hotel and the price we paid (over 200/night): We asked about getting pool towels and were sent to their spa, where they told us we had to pay to rent them. We had our own quick dry REI set as we planned for a site trip, so I did not ask how much. We travel quite a bit and have stayed at many 3 and 4 star hotels in many countries in the US, Mexico and Europe. This was the first hotel that charged a fee to rent a pool towel. The dinner at the hotel was 120 kuna/person (beverages not included) consisting of an average all inclusive type buffet. We found the quality and prices at the local restaurants much better. The pool areas were nice, but a bit small for the large beach/resort hotel. This means if you get there mid to late morning, you may be out of out of luck for finding a lounger. There are plenty of vendors at the beach that rent beach loungers for 30 Kuna. The hotel does not allow you to put personal items (eg. water) in the mini-bar and there is no ice machine, so you can't have ice water (unless you buy it).

The hotel room doors does not lock the sounds out, very noisy sometimes when people are moving around the corridoors.

One day stay

We were staying at the hotel for only one day...we came a bit early so the hotel offered us their parking for our car but the rooms were not yet ready. The hotel building could use some redesign (interior and exterior) but the rooms are really nice and I suppose that they have been renovated since they look much better than the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. We wanted to stay a bit longer after the checkout and we were allowed to use the hotel parking for the rest of the day until we left.

Staff were very friendly welcoming and helpful. Perfect location right on the beach. Just what we needed. Rooms were big and modern and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast but were happy with our choice to go bed and breakfast as there are many amazing restaurants in Brela which we were spoilt for choice with for lunches and dinners.

Great location and rooms

We knew that Brela would be quiet so stayed only 3 nights . Great location on sea front Sea facing room was clean spacious with large balcony area . Large bathroom. The selection and quality of the food at breakfast and evening meal was excellent especially the fish selection . All staff were friendly and professional .
We hope to return in the Summer

Not that nice!

Hotel is not very nice to look at. Concrete ugliness. Common areas are Blah. Room was pretty good and it was a beautiful beach and area around the hotel. As per usual in Croatia... Good luck finding parking. When you get a spot you feel like you won a lottery.

Booked half board and evening meals average. Would go again booking B&B next time and eat out at local restaurants which are very good quality and value. Otherwise hotel great. Get a sea facing room for sunsets.

Good & Comfortable Hotel with beautiful beach.

Enjoyed my stay at this wonderful hotel. My hotel room was bot only big and cliean but it was facing the sea. There are beautiful beaches on the left and right of the hotel, with crytal clear water . The breathtaking sunset was unforgettable. The general service was good especially receptionist (Ljubinca), she was friendly and helpful.

Great location and good enough service

Hotel is very conveniently located in Brela close enough for all touristic attractions and across promenade from the beach.Most of the rooms have sea view, basic with good quality interior and new furniture. Food in the hotel restaurant buffet during breakfasts and dinners wasn't very varied. Same time the amount of different dishes and food quality will definitely be enough to keep attention for family with kids from 2 years+ old for at least 10 days.
Honestly hotel's features (rooms, reception, pool, animation, SPA center, fitness center and etc) can't be compared to the beauty of the location itself. Its definitely is 5star+.

WE WILL BE BACK!

Had a great 10 night stay in Bluesun Hotel Soline in Sep/Oct 2011. The location of this hotel is excellent right in the heart of Brela, a small fishing village on the Makarska Riviera which has, according to locals, the best pebble beaches on the Adriatic coast of Croatia.
The room we were allocated was in the quieter annexe to the main hotel building. It was rather small in size but it had a partial sea view through pine trees. It also had a very small balcony which struggled to seat two (One chair and a bench like creation). Good air conditioning and comfy twin beds. The room was cleaned daily and to very high standards. We were on a half board basis and being veggies, we found that both breakfast and dinner had plenty of non-meat options. But there was always at least two meat and two fish dishes on offer.
The hotel has excellent gym, Spa and Wellness centre with both an indoor and outdoor pools and sun loungers.

A Brutalist Delight

We went during the Royal wedding wk having booked last minute, so had little time to research either the region or hotels. The reviews on this hotel were good (although not glowing) but i went with it. Turned out to a great choice. Yes, the architecture is Brutalist. I really like it. And as has been mentioned it has had a recent internal refurb. to a high std (though hastily by accounts of our room-nothing major, only minor snags)

Anyhow, I digress. This is a great hotel- not just for a 3*, but full-stop. High std of facilities: excellent pool, well specced gym (better quality equip't than that in my local fitness first!), huge dining hall serving lovely brekkie and dinner buffets, are among other facilities. Only disappointment be lack of availablity of small things such as plug adapters and kettles. So make sure you bring your own. Generally it caters reasonably well for families with small children.

Some tips: stay half-board (with sea-view - not great but better than a carpark) do hire a car (we chose Sixt who were v.competitive). Do visit Trogir (btw Pizzeria Mirkec has amazing pizza). Do visit Krka National Park. Do take a boat excursion to Omis and River Cetina. Do change your money out there. Do Forget Zlanti beach on Bol-rubbish.

Brela is the quieter starting point of the Markarska region - and better for it. I throughly recommend BluesunSoline. it exceeded my expections (these weren't set low) and would happily go back. But maybe not in peak season..

Great Location

We were pleased with our room (a seaview), although the breakfast was not up to an appropriate standard for the money.

The exterior of the hotel is...UGLY, but that is not Blue Sun's fault. The location MORE than makes up for this.

When you are the only game in town, you can charge as you like! So you pay for over 4* and get under 4*.

With these warnings out of the way, book by all means, you'll have a great stay.

a lovely spot to stay

We were delighted with our both our choice of resort and this hotel for a few day's break. The hotel is comfortable and efficiently run by friendly and helpful staff and has all the facilities expected of this class of hotel. The choice and standard of food is more than adequate but the restaurant is rather large and hectic with people coming and going in all directions. We didn't meet any other British people in the hotel - they were mostly Germans staying there. The resort is lovely with pebble beaches stretching out to clear seas and a small harbour. There are a number of bars and cafes lining the promenade but this is probably not the place for teenagers seeking lots of night life.

The hotel was dirty and dated at check-in. Then we came to the room. It didn’t have any visible ocean view as advertised but still it was a good size as we were travelling with our 3 month old baby. We go to sit on the sofa in the room and realise there’s a huge portion of the wall with what looks like mold. As we had our young daughter with us we immediately alerted staff. Their only solution was to move us to another smaller room for the night and then move us to another room the second day as “that was the best they could do”. Both rooms were smaller than what we had booked and was a great inconvenience as we purposely had booked one room for our entire stay with a baby. No one helped us move. When we went down to collect our last things from the room they had pulled out the couch and saw the entire wall behind was covered in MOLD and a member of their staff began merely PAINTING OVER IT!

The whole property was dirty and unkept. Nothing like the pictures. (Definitely AI) The pool was ice cold and covered by a roof so we never used it. The food was mediocre and the service is the worst I have experienced traveling over 50 countries. I have stayed in cleaner and better kept hostels. They are not a 4 star hotel period. And for the price they charge I would never recommend them or any of their chains of hotels. Management left staff to deal with us and wouldn’t come out of their back room. So there was a lot of back and forth. Cowardly and unprofessional. Don’t waste your €€.

Var fanns omtanken om gästen!

Inte tillräckligt med solstolar etc. Solstolar man visat på reklambilder tillhörde systerhotell. Ville man hyra solstol och parasoll fick man gå ned till stranden kl 7 på morgonen och betala cash utan kvitto.Du fick kvittera ut en strandhandduk men den fick man ej byta till en ny under dagen. Slamrig frukost plats. Inget välkomnande när man checkade in. Skulle få en flaska vin på rummet när vi kom men fanns ingen. När jag påminde om detta satte man bara upp en flaska på rummet dagen efter men det fanns inga vinglas? Hur tänker man? Rummet var fint och bra städat med fin balkong.

Helt greit hotell med svært god beliggenhet

Hotellet er greit nok, og veldig stort, med stort bassenganlegg ute og inne, eget spa, stor frokostsal/restaurant, to barer ute og svært mange fellesområder inne og ute. Og man kan ha en flott ferie her, likevel trekker følgende elementer ned:

- umulig å få tak i mat om du ankommer sent (etter 23) og resepsjonen tilbød verken vann eller å skaffe noe mat som de må ha hatt mulighet for, ettersom de har fullt kjøkken der (litt frukt hadde vært nok). Ingen salgs automater med brus eller snacks heller. Naboreatauranten hadde heldigvis vann og lot oss betale neste dag da de ikke tok kort.

- Frokosten er uorganisert og lite effektiv. Lang kø for omelett, men kun én omelett-kokk. En annen kokk steker pannekaker, men begge kunne med fordel laget omelett. Tomt for mange ting tidlig, og når klokken nærmer seg stenging rydder de nesten før du får spist. Minus for at frokosten stenger 10, den kunne med stor fordel vært åpen til 11 for bedre fordeling av folk og mindre kø.

- Housekeeping banket på kl 8/8.30 om du ikke henger «ikke forstyrr» skiltet på. Oppleves litt masete og var vel tidlig etter vår smak.

- Rommet var knøttlite men behagelig og hadde utsikt som forventet, kaffe og te og kjøleskap.

- Spaet var nedslitt og dessverre rett og slett skittent enkelte steder. Preget av litt lite og dårlig rengjøring og vedlikehold. Døde inntekter og brukte pappkopper rundt om.

- Servicen er ok, og totalt sett et ok sted for en venneferie, med svært god beliggenhet som reddet mye!

Hotelzimmer sehr klein, Wunsch nach zwei Einzelbetten wurde leider nicht erfüllt oder war nicht erfüllbar, Aussicht vom Balkon wunderschön, Personal sehr freundlich, Zimmer hätten gründlicher gereinigt werden können, Essen war gut, viele kleinere Kinder.

Parken leider katastrophal, Anzahl der Liegen am Pool nicht ausreichend und bereits um 8 Uhr morgens mit Handtüchern belegt.

Struttura recentemente rinnovata, silenziosa, immersa nel verde, vista mare, qualità del cibo buona, unico neo negativo i clienti occupano i lettini a bordo piscina con i teli privati la mattina all’alba e poi si allontanano. La maggior parte della giornata i lettini erano vuoti ma tenuti occupati. La direzione dovrebbe fare qualcosa a riguardo
