Was exactly as the guide and the photos portrayed. Not a lot to do outside of the hotel grounds but the hotel itself was excellen. The Fishbar was a little expensive but the food was really nice.

The reason I gave 1stars on condition were 2 Major issues.

1. after check in and get into the room , I use the Toilet and it won’t flush! Call tech to fix he almost an hour and give up. so we got the room changed. This took almost 2hrs. Wasted our time. But the hotel gave us late check out and a plate of fruit for apologies.

2. This is the most serious issue. I hear a strange noise on my headboard and found a big bee fly around the headboard with lamp. I use a tower to grasp. them and take them out. After lay down on the bed. I heard that sound again. And I found the 2nd Bee again
Now call staff to take them out

I can‘t imagine how bad luck we are for the 2 issues on this one night visit 5stars hotel in my country.

This hotel is quite large. It is set in a quiet area with really no where to go. The beach is nice and walkable. I think for Thailand the meal and drink prices are high. We only drank during happy hour in the lounge but there are several options at different bars throughout the property. I can’t say enough about the staff. They were so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay the best. I think the hotel needs to put a little more effort into maintenance. Windows need cleaning, tile around the pool next to the Fish Bar needs to be fixed. Tile around this pool also needed a good clean. Housekeeping was great even a night turn down service. Our balcony door screeched when we opened it. Brought that to the attention of maintenance but nothing was done. Also, bird poop on and around our balcony was disgusting. Something should be done with the large pool next door which I think is attached to the Marriott somehow. It is green and dirty. It just doesn’t look good when looking out your window. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel but maybe for a week at a time as we were there for 2 weeks. The rooms were great, spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a large selection of food. There are 2 very large pools with nice loungers and beach towels. If you just want to relax this definitely fits the bill.

Stayed a few nights here in total . Really nice and good value mariott and has the look and feel of a lot of Marriott resort properties. We had one of the cheaper rooms and on a higher floor and we had great views of the sea from our daybed. The bathroom was nice and the room came with a big bath . Tv options are limited but there is a English movie channel . Great size to the room and felt spacious . The balcony is nice but would benefit from some furniture .

The staff are nice , polite and friendly but gosh they are slow ! The hotel has a really nice feel to it and the staff are delightful to deal with but they take so long to do small tasks. it never felt busy anywhere we went on the resort so I can’t quite understand why

The fish bar was nice enough , food was average , wait times 50 minutes for drinks , have to get my own menu that kind of thing which for a lot of thb it needs a rocket up it .

Room service breakfast was pretty good overall . You won’t go wrong with the blueberry pancakes
Which are delicious. My eggs Benedict turned up stone cold , was tasty but had obviously been left out too long . The coffee is ok and passable .
Did love the facilities , the feel for the resort and the excellent room and overall had a great time . Would come back

Very large area all the way to the beach. Nicely lined with beautiful trees and flowers and is lit with lightning to take an evening walk around the property. An awesome uncrowded beach with soft white sand and you can walk and take your time to a nice restaurant/bar along the way on the beach. The only disappointment was the food at the salt restaurant in the hotel. The food is horrible. They need to make some changes here. Like fire the chef and hire an experienced chef to straighten out the kitchen. However the food at the fish bar by the beach is fantastic. I ordered the Australian ribeye steak and it was absolutely delicious, probably the best steak I’ve eaten in Thailand. I believe the fish restaurant is privately owned from the hotel. Otherwise everything else at this Marriott hotel is top grade and I would definitely stay here again.

Always a good stay.

This is the 3rd time we stayed here and it’s always a great stay. First time since COVID and it appears they cut back on some amenities like toothbrushes and toothpaste, bubble bath etc. Hope they reverse that trend Breakfast is still good.

The hotel was gorgeous! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We didn’t have the best experience at C Salt our first night. There were 5 of us and 3 of us got our food before the other two. It took so long for the other dishes to come out that the three who had received their meals were already done eating. They said they had a bunch of orders, but how are you serving half the table first? The restaurant was basically empty. They said it was room service orders, but we did t even have a room service menu in our room. So I’m not sure how people were ordering ms I didn’t see a bunch of people popping in to order direct from the restaurant. They brought out fresh fruit as an apology at the end of the meal. By then we were exhausted from traveling and just wanted to get to our room. The light in our room was broken and wouldn’t turn off so we asked someone to come look at it. They fixed it quickly. We ordered 4 drinks at the bar by the pool and it took so long that we were leaving the pool by the time they were ready. In contrast, we ordered 4 drinks during happy hour and those came very quickly along with snacks! My advice with this hotel is just be prepared to wait a bit for things you want. Overall we were happy with our stay!

By far the best part of the hotel was the pool which must have stretched over 100m down to the beach.

Very bad experience… the hotel itself is in bad state, uncleaned, dirty walls, floors and everything in room is in desperate need of change. Even the tv remote holder is all torned, the coffee table in room has cracks and paint ripped off… something not excepted from Marriott…went there with the intention of extending our stay bt the hotel disappointed us big time! The hotel’s restaurant outlet thts advertised on the page as beach side restro ‘Fish Bar’ is apparently closed. Novotel is much better option thn Marriot… situated close to Marriott and charges 1/4 of wht Marriott does!!!

My hotel room was very disappointing, the AC in king bedroom didn’t work. There was a cockroach inside the back opening closet. The refrigerator was never restocked with water. There wasn’t any toilet paper in bathroom. The hot water didn’t turn in the first night and everyday after we had to wait 20 minutes before it was starting to get warm. I complained to front staff twice. I was appreciative for the note and apology but for the price of money you pay, my family family experience wasn’t pleasant. And to make things matters worst the large lazy river pool was closed due to maintenance.

We had to cancel our reservation about a month ahead of planned stay. The property wanted to charge us for our stay even tho the Expedia website promoted "Free Cancellation". It took me over 4 hours of phone calls to Expedia to get the situation resolved. I think the problem was mainly with the Marriott BUT Expedia should not promote it as "Free Cancellation" It was very frustrating

First and foremost, this is NOT a luxury hotel. It is tired, decrepit, dirty, poorly managed. The best, most expensive "high floor, open ocean view room" is on the fifth (of twelve) floor with views of a large worksite. No ocean view, worksite views. The beach front pool? CLOSED for two months for renovation. Our room was in poor shape with dirty, torn curtains, walls scarred with unpainted repairs. Yes, there is a balcony (again with views of the worksite) with no furniture. Indeed, inside the room there is only one chair. That is it. No place else to sit. Not a room that welcomes children.

Worst of all, the hotel is dwarfed by a massive, new, three-building condo standing, quite literally, 100 feet from the hotel. Those condos have been carefully omitted from all official photographs. That is bait and switch.

We addressed our concerns to management, but were informed the nothing can be done.

Ignore the positive reviews. They are fake. No way a family would be happy at this lone-star hotel.

The resort is well catered for families with children. It is quite remote.
We were given refreshing drinks on arrival, which are not available at the restaurants. Our children loved the drinks.
Being a resort the pools are a fair walk from the rooms. In some parts, the bottom of the main pool goes up and down unexpectedly. So be careful to avoid little accidents.
The kids club has different activities for little children. It was a scary thought for us in terms of the security at the kids club. Parents had to sign their children in on arrival. However, when I came to pick up my children and also my friend's child, the staff just let me without checking any details. He wasn't there when we signed our children in. So he had no idea who was who. Also my name was not on the form as the alternative adult to pick up my friend's schild. (My friend was next door waiting to pick up food from the bar.)
Our room was a corner suite with ocean view. It is very spacious. It can easily fit 5 people.
The breakfast buffet had a lot of choices. The food was ok. The seafood dinner was a little disappointing with limited choices of seafood, given it is a beach resort and the buffet price.
The meal prices are similar to what you get in Sydney, Australia, which could be about 3-5 times the prices for the same meals you can get in Bangkok.

not up to Marriott 's reputation

we have been surprised to see that we had to share facilities during several days with the guests of an Indian wedding, without any prior notice nor any compensation whatsoever.
There are only two restaurants at the hotel and one of them was unavailable one night because of the wedding. This is not acceptable in a 5 stars hotel, all the more as there is nothing else around and one has to eat at the hotel.
It would have been fine if the hotel had been closed completely for three days or more because of the wedding but to keep it open and to expect regular hotel guests to bear the consequences of a private party which surely was of good profit for the finances of the hotel, is not very decent and quite unexpected in a Marriott 5 stars hotel. No voucher, not even a complimentary drink because of the displeasure make the management of Marriott Resort § Spa appear very greedy and not so concerned about regular guests' feelings.

Checked in quite late and was raining heavily. Checked in service is abit slow but the staff is trying his best. At night not much activities, only the lounge and fitness center(24 hr).

Have our dinner at c salt review, services not bad but food is just ok.

The sea view room is wonderful. However
First night our fridge is not working, hotel immediately change one for us. The ceiling fan always auto off when we open the balcony door. Slept halfway at night, heavily thunder. The lights were auto switch on. Unable to switch it off till in the morning. Wifi is not working but is only my 2 nights stay so I forget it.

Next day get to swim though it is not raining however there is no bright sun. In the noon went to ban phe for our lunch, small town when u can also buy souvenirs, dry food and t-shirts. There is free shuttle bus service, 2 trips only. Back to the hotel for our swim again. It's a monsoon season therefore the beach don't really look clear and nice. I bet it will be better after the monsoon.

At night, we got Taxi to and fro from JOjo restaurant to have our seafood dinner. The taxi cost 800baht for 2 way. Cheap and tasty but please put on a lot of insect repellent. There is also many kinds of insects flying ard.

Fitness centre is big and well equip with basic machine. Don't expect those heavy weights for gym junker..towel and drinks provided in the gym. There is also steam room and Suana room each in female restroom and male restroom.

A weekend out of Bangkok

We were not impressed upon checkining in. There was only one lady who was serving one customer. She helped making a call to another person in the room behind the counter but it took quite a while for another lady to come out to serve us.

We were impressed with the breakfast with a wide variety to choose from.

The view from our balcony was awesome. We could also stay inside our room watching the view from the glass window on the 9th floor without having to go to down to the beach if you only want to swim.
The swimming pool is just a simple one where you can relax and feel the breeze.

Second time staying here. Had such a great 3 years ago and we came again and wasn't disappointed. Hotel is beautiful, clean, great service, and most of all a very relaxing environment. Had an ocean view room and it was great. The rainfall shower in the room is very strong and refreshing. The spa staff is very knowledgeable and professional and worth the money for a massage. Free kayak rides on the beach included with stay as the breakfast in the mornings. For those who say this place is isolated, it's a good thing, because makes it that much of a real resort.

We will back here

Short stay 2 nights. Staff friendly, on request gave us high floor & check out 2 pm. Breakfast fine, that's important for me. Facility complete, great kids club, footbal, golf, volleyball, tennis etc... highly recommend for relaxing.

Good hotel ,this is use a lot for Indian weddings there was 7 when I was there It wasQuite loud
Music But Realy did not mind so much .The only complaint was Ifoud the laundry to expensive just a few t shirts and socks 160 brats to much .And a other suggestion would not go a miss to compensate for the some what disruption all the wedding a complimentary drink would be welcome D j Perry

Amazing Hotel at the end of the World

Are you looking for a place to relax and recharge your battery? You're perfectly right at the Rayong Marriott!
However, if you are looking for restaurants outside, bars or clubs you'll definitly be disappointed. Due to the location activities outside of the hotel are very limited or only possible with 30min+ travels.

Excellent hotel

Excellent hotel. Second time we stay here and this time was for a week. Will come back again. Disappointed to see two sharks and a ray in the fish tank at the pool this year. These are wild animals and the tank is much too small. Hope the management take action in this ASAP.

great escape for a whole family

We return here when we can because the whole family has plenty of space, activity and relaxation. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, the pools and kids club are consistently entertaining, and the room is spacious and comfortable. We'll keep coming back.
