beautiful location, property needs work !

The location is excellent that is the best thing about the hotel. Stayed in the bungalows which was a hit and miss on the quality and cleanliness (stay away from 129 / 130). The bungalows need refurbishing, in fact a coat of paint will do wonders to the look and feel.
Easy access to beach with local restaurants on both sides.
The breakfast is very basic, and quality varied on a daily basis. Staff could be a little more friendly in the restaurant area which could get them lots more sales of food and drink.
Unless you are driving, transport to go anywhere is difficult, so the hotel marks up prices working with the local taxi firm or friends to get you transport.

Love the quietness of the beach which has a long stretch with both sunrise and sunset.

Already planned a monthly 2/3 day get away to this area but not sure if to this property.

For the cost, it was good, it does need a good infusion of money to get it to where it needs to be.
The transportation was a little challenging at first, but we rented a Tuk Tuk which was perfect for what we needed to get around.
The internet was so so, it could have been better.

4th time here!

Love this place. More remote but if you need beauty and calm this is the place.
We were a larger group and they went above and beyond by providing what we needed, helping us arrange transport, helping us find lost luggage, gathering supplies. Their accounting summary for our group was also really helpful.

Great relaxing place

It's a nice place to stay with private beach, though small garbages were sighted, but much less than public beach. The sand is fine, the water is clear. Best for families, retirees and couples. The hotel seems to be very safe. The breakfast was of great varieties.

Quiet location wonderful staff nice resort.

This is our 3rd year visiting this place. It is a nice size, beautiful grounds, kind staff, good breakfast that overlooks the ocean, quiet beach, nice restaurant. Quiet location but you can arrange transport into neighbouring area to buy things or to get to the pier to take a day trip. The rooms look more run down this year but can be easily refreshed.

It was a nice stay for just the two of us. We previously stayed at Marriott & Novotel nearby. Well, this hotel us located on the same beach. This was the number one reason for our stay. We love the are & the atmosphere. The hotel could include a more generous variety of fruits & vegetables & deserts for breakfast. But be ready for this. You can compensate with a fuller lunch at a nearby cafe. Also, must be aware that the showers in the baansiri cottage had barely warm water (almost cold). Everyone us different, so I’m just giving you this information. We were ok with this in 2-3 days since our bodies got used to the temperature.

I stayed at Cottage house. Air con not working well. Room’s temp is quite hot and much mosquito even u close the door. Mosquito repellent is needed.

The beachfront pool villa we stayed is pretty old. The furniture are badly worn. The only thing we loved is the pool and beachfront location. But for the price we paid i think it's not worrh it. The day we checked in i found urine in toilet bowl.

Pros - Beautiful resort right on the beach. Cute cottage and nice room. Big comfy bed and pillows. Weak wifi in the room. Friendly staff, good facilities (2 pools), cheap restaurant food and drinks and lovely surroundings. Soft sandy beach and the sea is warm, clear and clean. Cons - Lots of mossies, far from the shops and guests allowed to smoke around the resort which ruins the atmosphere as wind carries the smell of cigarettes/butts in the sand. Should ban smoking permanently so guests can enjoy the place better.

Very good Sea-Food Restaurants in the area

At the Resort, it is quiet and direct at the beach which will be cleaned every day. If one doesn't have a car it can use a shuttle bus but there is not much to explore in the area. The good thing is that there are many Thai-Sea-Food Restaurants around also along the beach. Better is when you can drive with a car or motorbike and visit a Sea-Food Restaurant where they go fishing through the night and bring in the morning the fresh catch. It is just delicious. This is why it is ideal to have a car or motorbike to find these Restaurants. Of course one can eat also at the Resort.

Very much enjoyed it. 💯 they need to clean the beach. I read someone else talking about garbage to the left and garbage to the right and omg it was so sad. This is not only a problem for the people staying at the resort but the oceans. Invest in Ocean cleanup instead of letting the garbage that washes up end back in the ocean. I can't tell you how many people I saw picking up garbage or plastic that had wahsed up and throwing it away so it didn't end up back in the sea.

Thanks for the upgrade to suite ..very large room. however, the rooms are old and sink was broken.
The bed and all the sofa have smells because of too old beds!!!

Thai hotel with various accommodation options

This is a Thai rather than an International hotel, which gives you a true feeling of the country you are in. We stayed in a 3rd floor garden/seaview room which was large and beautifully furnished. There are 2 small pools plus direct access onto the beach. The restaurant is very reasonable and serves great Thai food.

Bandara on Sea was a very comfortable, well run small resort right on the beach. Although obviously not new the resort was well maintained and everything worked well. Service was very good and the staff were happy to show us various rooms when we asked for a view. Breakfast was very good (except the appalling milk for the coffee) another was a good selection of delicious local dishes and western foods. If you planned to look around the local area you would need a car as the resort is a few kilometres out of town. Overall we were very comfortable and enjoyed a relaxing stay

Personal favorite spot in Rayong many years. Friendly staff, nice pool, good breakfast and very calm beach with no one else.

At the moment there’s a bit noise because they are renovating half of the cottages (other half already done), but no real problem. Renovating the cottages was a good idea, there’s now more space, sofa and shower is better.

The staff was excellent, however the room was not very clean, the shower only seemed to have one temp, burning hot. There was only the restraunt on site, nothing near by, not much amenities. And housekeeping came in my room at 9am when I was asleep without nocking even. Front desk staff we very nice though, I booked 2 nights stayed one but payed for both so they didn't charge me for my food purchases, that was Nice.

Calm place with beautiful views. Recommend for couples and families. Nice breakfast with different range of dishes. Fantastic seafood Saturday market (thank you so much for this event). But be ready that you will be waken up early morning due to cleaning or other guests closing their doors.

Dear hotelier, we had marvelous time in your hotel. Thank you for room upgrade (outstanding sea and palm view with private terrace), but we advise you to do something with room isolation. We heard every step and sound.

Nice facility - showing it's age a bit but immaculately clean & vey uncrowded feel even with weekend wedding & tour group visits. The beach was amazing. The 2 pools were never busy while we were there (4 nights). Breakfast buffet was good. Weekday lunch specials were also good & well priced. There are several beach bar/restaurants very nearby for other dining options. My only negative is that there are no nearby shops for snacks/water. Hotel snacks were stale & marked up pricewise ( not unexpected) but only Singha drinking water was available & I did not tolerate it well. I finally found Nestle brand at a beach bar & I drank a lot of ginger ale!

One night stay before heading to BKK.

One night stay before heading to BKK after 10 days in Koh Chang island.
Last year we stayed in Marriot for 3 nights before heading to BKK and got back home.
Unfortunately Marriot was sold out, anyway, since we we're staying only 12 hours before the transfers...Bandara on Sea was a great value. The property has nice rooms and villas.
Service must improve, namely F&B service and quality....

3 day getaway from Bangkok. Awesome spot on the beach. Great deal for the price. 2 pools, great breakfast included. Yum! The restaurant food was door with resort prices. Several other places to choose from along the beach. Also day trips by boat to Ko Samet. Massages on the beach just down to the right a bit. You need your own transportation. Not a must but much more convenient.

Hotel was right on beach with two big pools and small jacuzzi. Really enjoyed our stay staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall was good experience. The hotel taxi is expensive so if you're traveling far use a local taxi. Breakfast was decent and the room service and restaurant serve good food at a reasonable price.

Lovely rayong hotel

The hotel was very well appointed, with well-kept gardens. There were 2 pools, both a good size. The rooms were very clean with excellent beds and bathrooms.
It had a prominent position on the long beach, which was only let down by the amount of rubbish that was left after every high tide. They did try to clean it up outside the hotel every day.
There were a couple of beach bars/food about 100 yards either side, but not much else.

Following the advice of other reviews we asked for Room 641 (one of their most expensive rooms) which had a beautiful sea view. We paid a high price which should have ensured a premier hotel experience. Unfortunately we encountered a series of problems. Firstly the safe in the room did not work. After an hour of sharing our room with two maintenance staff who were seeking to repair the safe they decided to replace the safe. Secondly, the water did not flow away through the drain in the shower room, so much so that if you took a long shower there was a risk of flooding the room - no long showers were taken. This improved after being drawn to the hotel's attention. Thirdly, on our second night at about 10.00 pm there was a violent electrical storm resulting in the loss of electrical power which included the telephone, air conditioning, and television. No one checked on our situation when the storm had passed - being unable to phone to highlight our situation we waited until the morning to tell the reception about the loss of power - this was attended to - but the telephone still was not working at the end of our stay two days later and some television channels were also unavailable for 36 hours after the storm. We were told that staff were working to put these things right. Fourthly, no information on local taxis / tuc tucs was made available despite requests - in fact the feeling was that staff were being advised to ensure visitors used the very expensive hotel transport.

Stayed for 5nights, hotel was as described.Our visit was during the quiet season only busy at weekends .The Siri room was very comfortable good amount of space all clean and fresh inside with A/C. Pools were in good condition and the beach front had been tended. Breakfast,s were good catering for both Asian and Western tastes, other meals not always the best some pre cooked and served just warm.Area is not very touristy the hotel has some good cycles to rent with Ban Phe 15km away..enjoyed our stay staff all very nice and work hard in the hotel up keep.When leaving found the taxi service a little expensive..

The best of Thai!

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing experience here. From the moment we arrived until the morning we left, the staff was helpful and kind. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The beach was clean and the ocean floor was sandy (not full of rocks as some of the other Thai beaches have been). This stretch of beach is not heavily commercialized which brought great opportunities to enjoy only Thai cuisine. It is a little distance from any larger towns but we rented a motor scooter which allowed us some more freedom to explore. We are talking about a return trip next year!

Wonderful Private Retreat Near Rayong's Best Beach

A beautiful and private getaway retreat. Almost perfect. The room we had have a wonderful tranquil sea view. Everything worked well and internet was fast. Now, to some minor complaints. The shower drainage in our room was badly clogged up and did not drain fast enough. The service staff at the main restaurant was appalling, unfriendly and plain lazy. I hope to see some improvement with the service staff especially at the restaurant the next time I visit again as I love this hotel despite some shortcomings.

Lovely hotel and beach - Not sure about Rayong

As soon as I arrived in my Taxi from Bangkok I was greeted by the hotel manager who helped with my bags and check-in. The staff are lovely and very trustworthy (although English isn't the best). The hotel itself has 2 lovely pools and the restaurant on the beach is good quality. There are no private beaches in Rayong, however this hotel is fortunate enough to have a very quiet part of the beach so it felt pretty private. I loved my room but so wish I had the villa with its own private small pool and veranda. Rayong itself was too boring for me as a sole traveller after a month travelling round south east Asia as it's mainly families and couples, but I got a boat tour of the islands from the vendor on the beach which was very nice and relaxing.

My friend and I traveled here from Bangkok for one night to get away from the noise. The resort was peaceful and not very crowded. The staff was nice and helpful and the rooms were clean. The beach is not the nicest but it was not touristy and it felt like you had the beach to yourself. My only complaint was that the dinner service was incredibly slow. Other than that I was sad to leave.

Many frustrating challenges!

The most irritating aspect was the money gouging. Everything was overpriced & to add insult to injury when I asked for transport to town they expected me to pay 850 baht! Just to put that into perspective that was 2/3 the cost of my room! I had taken the Marriott shuttle to get there & it was 150 baht. The \"friendly\" receptionist said \" we can put you & your luggage out on the road so you can catch a tuk tuk for 30 baht! So that's what I did.
The hotel is really geared to families. Kids are running around everywhere, kicking around soccer balls at 8am...not sleeping in. I was really there for rest & peace, so not a good match.
The breakfast would have been OK if everything wasn't always room temperature. I guess they put it out at 6:30 am & never refresh the ice.
Rooms had dim light bulbs, so I had to request a light to be able to read.
The beach area was pretty dirty.
Would not go back.

Pleasant beach hotel, clean rooms, and pleasant overall experience. Having a car is an advantage in order to explore more of the area and have more then just Bandara restaurant available for you. Restaurant food and breakfast was good overall. We would stay again and recommend rooms with ocean views.

The resort is located right on the beach in a very peaceful location. This hotel is between the Marriott & Novotel and have a couple of nice restaurants just few minutes walk from the hotel.
The breakfast is really good, they have big selection of western and
asian food.
Unfortunately, they have to improve the food at dinner time. Anyways, you have options of going to the restaurants next door or the neighbor hotels. We went to a restaurant called Ken's Kitchen who do nice food and really good cocktails.
The BBQ buffet at the hotel on Saturday night was excellent, 699 Baht per person and you get cocktail \"Bandara Delight\" with it as well.
The staff is very helpful and
friendly.
The shops like Seven Eleven is quite far from the hotel, you can get a public transport or a car to get there.
It will be excellent if the hotel can provide a shuttle service for the guests if they need to go to town or
somewhere nearby.
Overall, I am very happy with the hotel service and facilities and I would recommend this hotel to
friends and family.

a good choice

its a decent hotel, clean, comfortable rooms. Nice beach (not sure if its private, but it is kept clean contrary to other parts of the shore). If you are NOT with children i suggest NOT choosing the bungalows. The breakfast is very basic, do not expect anything special, but it is edible.

Nice place poor service

We went for few days, the place is nice but as it was low season no too much to do, avoid to go May.
Rooms cleaned, but the resort a bit dirty . we saw many days the same bottles on the floor , glasses on the tables.
Staff with poor English and wasn't helpful

Great deal and super friendly staff!

It is a great hotel if you're looking for a deal. I knew it wouldn't be a 5-star resort so wasn't disappointed. The rooms are small but clean and the hotel is literally on the beach. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. The only two things I'll call out:
* If you plan to go to Ko Samet and take the hotel shuttle to the ferry dock, they'll take you to the most expensive option. We knew the actual price thanks to a traveling guide so knew to do research.
* The hotel only has one menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are a few western breakfast options in the buffet but limited. And if you're planning to stay for longer than 3 days, the food might get boring since it is the same thing.

relaxing, picturesque and lovely accommodation.

The hotel resort and facilities were great. the resort was clean and the staff were friendly. However, when I booked from online, it said that it was an adults only resort, and no children under 12-well there were lots of toddlers and babies during my stay and it was obvious that it is totally geared up for families-so I was a little disappointed.
It was a nice relaxing stay and pretty quiet, even at night when there was a party going on at the neighbouring resort.

Great room great location

We booked 2 rooms and were upgraded to a pool villa. The accommodation was superb.
The personal pool had stairs accessing the beach.
Bit disappointed with the buffet breakfast. Not much of a choice.
Despite that, would go back again for sure.

Överlag är vi väldigt nöjda men städningen kunde ha varit något bättre och sängarna lite mjukare. Det hade gärna fått vara lite flera solstolar vid stranden.
