Was our 5th time at this hotel. Cleaniness was great as normal however it wasn't the same as previous visits. The breakfast was not up to standard and the hotel itself was less friendly than previous. Lots of issues getting a place at the pool as people were allowed to reserve chairs before the pool even opened then not use the chairs or seats until the sun was out way later in the afternoon and as we are a family it was quite difficult and made no sense. The fact that smoking and vaping are allowed pool side was strange

We stayed for 9 nights and really enjoyed the Dionysus. The food in all three restaurants was very good, service was good throughout the resort. Staff were friendly. We had an adjoining room which didn't provide much sound deadening from the adjacent room. The property is very well kept.

Wonderful hotel.

There was a big group of us travelling fur my daughter’s hen’s party. The hotel was just perfect for friends and family meeting up from different corners of the world. It was in a great location, the rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. The staff were friendly and Donna was exceptional at making sure we had everything we needed.

Outstanding welcome and ongoing fantastic service from the receptionist who was lovely. Hotel lobby had a relaxed vibe, swimming pool area and room very clean. Swimming pool toilets always very dark and wet floor. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, the breakfast was of a good standard and the staff catered to my gluten free requirements by providing me with the appropriate bread, cake and biscuits which was really nice. On the whole most of the staff were friendly and courteous. Evening entertainment not really to our taste but the programme did seem varied (dancing/magician/belly dancer). We took a taxi into Rhodes Old Town most nights for an explore and dinner. Most taxi drivers were fine (especially the ones booked by hotel reception on the outward trip) but do agree the price coming back (queue at taxi rank in the Old Town) before you accept a ride, one tried to rip us off. We were two female friends travelling together and one taxi driver made us feel extremely uncomfortable and worried for our safety (detour taken from usual route, asking if we were travelling on our own without men etc).
Would definitely stay at this hotel again as a base to explore the island.

The rooms have a metal key with a heavy magnet on it, it's bulky
Rooms have mold in bathroom, and guests are instructed not to throw any toilet paper in the toilet

Highly recommend. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, 3 choices of restaurants all placed around the pool, reasonable prices. Pool bar excellent again reasonable priced drinks. Location only a few minutes walk to the beach and bus stop. Good location and short taxi journey to airport and Old Rhodes Town. Would definitely go back as so many more sights to see.

Large reception area, but small rooms, small bathrooms, small elevators (3 person max). No way to lock door from inside without using a key and the key is on a magnet that needs to be hung in order for electricity to work, total fire hazard. AC is a waste, tried to open the porch door, plenty of flies from the wooded area come in. Breakfast was diversified, first time i saw onion rings served for breakfast. but we did have mosquitos in the breakfast area, didn't make it appetizing.

The room was extremely large but a bit dated. It had a small kitchenette and fridge. The balcony was fine, overlooking the pool. The food was very good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a smashing holiday.

Fantastic stay at the Dionysos Hotel, its conveniently located with just enough shops and restaurants nearby. There is a small supermarket at the entrance to the hotel and the beach is just at the end of the road.
We had an issue with the air con in the room and we were moved straight away to a different room with no issues what so ever. Food, drinks everything is just perfect, we will definitely be going back there soon.

Enjoyable week at the Dionysos Hotel

Lovely older hotel but very well maintained. Lush gardens and a fabulous central pool with a few restaurants and bars dotted around. Food at the restaurants was probably better than the local places. Friendliest staff we've ever encountered and cleaners who never stop cleaning the place. 10 euro taxi ride into Rhodes Town.

The hotel appears to be somewhat old, with the rooms requiring considerable upgrade.

The breakfast is very average, the food is plentiful, but the food/drinks quality was generally poor.

The wifi was very poor, since we often struggled to benefit from a proper connection in several locations including our room.

The hotel staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. We were initially excited to come over, but it turned out to be somewhat disappointing.

Take a travel kettle, they only provide 1980's filter coffee makers. The evening/night-time receptionist not very helpful. Wonderfully established mature gardens, kids play area, crazy golf, tenis courts. Breakfast was included for what we paid, you can go half-board, mexican fantastic and the other two resteraunts delicious. Not many resteraunts and nightlife down on the coast road and its very busy with noisy traffic. Bus easy to catch into Rhodes where you can transit to other parts of the island from the bus station. Visit Rhodes old town in the morning, cruise ships arrive in the afternoon's and it gets very busy.

Overall loved the Dionysos, peaceful and so relaxing.

Quiet, relaxing, superb hotel

I would definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms, nice balcony’s, very few kids around which was epic.

Breakfast was great, delicious porridge. The pool view rooms were very nice with a great view of the lovely surroundings and sea in the distance.
The staff were excellent, in particular a tall guy who was there at breakfast and also at the hotel’s Mexican restaurant in the evenings. He was very cool, and I noticed extremely hardworking!

The entertainment in the evenings was a nice touch, the hidden garden was nice, it’s a pity the crazy golf course was not open!

The only tiny bad thing I can say about my stay here is that the single sheet on the beds is not enough as in the middle the night it gets too cold with the air con on.

I went to the 5 star hotel across the road a few times to check out their entertainment and facilities, and it just felt so busy and fake, the opposite of Dionysos.

The hotel was lovely, a little dated but very clean and tidy. The breakfast was not great but the food in all the restaurants was lovely. Chicken souvlaki very nice and very cheap under 4 euros. A nice little shop attached to the hotel sold everything you needed. Staff very nice, coffee maker in room and fridge. I would say bring your own beach towels, a charge for the in room safe. We were able to extend our room from check out at 11am to 6pm 35 Euros. Lots of mosquitos so be prepared for that. Overall we did enjoy ourselves and had a lovely time. Do try Elysse taverna and Valentina’s at the beach.

Perfect for Holidays !!

Loved this hotel. Pool area was fab, as was the variety of food choices. I think the staff did brilliantly in the crisis of the current difficulties around Covid. We felt very safe. The hotel was spotless let clean with this being a constant thing. Whilst the breakfast situation- normally buffet was changed so you just got brought various plates, again choice was good and was varied a little each day.
The room was spacious and good for family. We had a room on the garden level which was great. Not far to walk down to the beach or the main drag of restaurants.
We would definitely stay again.

Hotel was very clean and organised, plenty of room for social distancing/ provision of sanitiser, etc. Staff all very friendly. Pool was lovely with beautiful garden areas. Short walk to a selection of bars and restaurants, can especially recommend ‘Sebastians’ (down to beach, turn left, 10 mins walk). Would definitely return again, super family holiday and felt very safe during current situation.

We stayed in room 107, which we would have rate as a 2 star. The pools are nice, but they do not provide towels, which was very unusual for any 4 star. The area around the hotel is pretty. Security is quite good upon entrance. Breakfast was a very large offering but the space was inadequate for the number of people, and we were in low season of mid-Sept. the hotel is from 1970s and it doesn’t appear to have been updated since then. We would not stay here again.

The hotel itself was very nice albeit the mattress we found extra hard with the springs coming out at you whilst you lay, I went downstairs the first night to complain and by the next day this was sorted. I would have liked a gym to be there as well as a steam room/ Jacuzzi. Whilst they did have a sauna it was ten euro for an hour which I thought was a lot considering you would probably only spend about 10mins in there. The food was ok and the staff very helpful. Overall I would stay there again

I absolutely loved this hotel! It was a beautiful hotel with everything you need. They had a great show in the hotel in the evening and the restaurant was really good. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. The location was a very short walk from the beach and restaurants. The bar and club area was not walking distance but was a short cab ride away. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Quiet hotel off the main west road linking Rhodes to the Airport . Professional courteous staff, very relaxed atmosphere, seven connecting pools. Fun happy pool attendant , good choice of three different restaurants. Entertaining evening shows and interesting cocktails. Buffet breakfast was plentiful with a variety of fresh fruit to cooked options. Note; no hotel towels to be used round the pool, no sun beds can be reserved and left with towels as they are moved by the staff . A taxi to Rhodes for 4 people only cost 8 euros. Top hint : the Greek traditional restaurant out of the hotel up the hill ( with white horse cart outside cooks amazing meat dishes at very cheap prices and full of locals)

We loved this hotel from the minute we arrived. Fantastic pool and fab staff, nothing was ever too much trouble. There are 3 restaurants on site. The Mexican and the Grill you both have to book and were both lovely. There is another restsurant by the pool which is fab too and you dont need to book. At lunch time you can grab a Soulvaki for €2.80 which are delicious and very filling. There is no reserving sunbeds either which is great we never struggled to get one our whole weeks stay. Evening entertainment is ok not the best but sometimes they had a fab nights entertainment. Hotel is approx 10 minutes taxi ride into Rhodes town which is lovely and costs about €10. Ixia is lovely too plenty of restaurant's and bars if you want to stay local. Beach is stony but still nice. Lots of sunbeds for rent. Our room was very pleasant big but but maybe a little hard. We asked for a mattress topper and slept fine. Sheets and towels were changed daily which was lovely. Fantastic place to stay.

Disappointing hotel

This is the first time in my life that I write a bad hotel review, because honestly, I'm extremely disappointed. We were a group of 10 people (7 adults and 3 children (5 year, 2 years and 6 month old)
1. The hotel is not child friendly as it states. Baby strollers aren't allowed inside elevators. Our room was in the second floor, therefore, every time we wanted to go downstairs wether to have breakfast (which was in the first floor), to eat at the hotel’s restaurants, or to go anywhere, we had to leave the stroller in a room and carry our baby. The one time we took the stroller by the stairs, the receptionist told us that this wasn’t allowed either. They expect you to always eat carrying your baby or to do shifts carrying him.
2. Very average breakfast. The beverage options were terrible, the coffee tasted bad, juices were bad, no fresh juice options. The selection of food isn't good. Not according to a 4 star hotel in Greece.
3. You don't get towels for the pool and you’re not allowed to use the ones provided for your room. You need to either bring your own ones or purchase them. There’s a store owned by the hotel right next to the hotel They sell towels and take advantage of this
4. It's not allowed to save a spot near the pool with your own towel. Hotel staff takes them away
5.Service was bad. We had to deal with rude people at the reception and during breakfast.
6. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. They charge for the safe box. Cleaning service was not good enough

Our stay at Dionysos Hotel was one of our best holidays. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The room was of a good size with beds with quality mattresses if a bit on the firm side. The grounds are beautifully laid out and with the excellently designed pool area, teenis Court, crazy golf and table tennis etc there is little incentive to move away in the day
The entrance leads to an airy seating Are with glass walls flooding it with light and there are beautiful items of furniture and art throughout. Breakfast was ample and varied and there are a number of good restaurants run by the hotel. The hotels supermarket was a useful provision. We also discovered a good restaurant near the hotel.

One of the best in Rhodes

Terrific hotel. Very clean, staff friendly and helpful.
Walking distance to pool, terrific pool and surrounds .
Only a short bus trip to the old Rhodes centre.
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. I would rebook this hotel again when I come to Rhodes

Very nice hotel for families, pool gets quickly crowded so it’s better go there early or late in the day.
Studio rooms are clean, large and nicely furnished.
Breakfast is a bit deceiving for people who are used to travel a lot but are enough for families.
Location is close to the sea and to other 5* hotels but it was always windy so we always had to take a car to the other side of the island to get nice sandy beaches.

Very friendly and polite staff, awesome pool

We stayed at The Dionysos for 7 nights during which we had a great time. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was cleaned daily and was spacious with a nice terrace. The food in the restaurants was very good as were the beverages in the hotel bars / pool bar.

Spacious Hotel

The staff are great especially Kostas on Reception. The pool is fabulous, plenty of sunbeds although NO pool towels - you have to bring your own! Beds seem quite hard yet I slept really well. There's a good sized fridge in the room, but no tea/coffee facilities. The mexican restaurant is very good. Close to the beach, 5 minute walk and other restaurants. It's a good 50 minute walk into Rhodes town or 15 minute bus ride 1.80euros, taxi 10euros. The only slightly negative points are the toiletries (shampoo etc) aren't replenished unless you manage to catch the housekeeper and Rhodes needs to get into the 21st century and sort out their plumbing as you can't put toilet paper down the loos - in a separate bin, ugh! The hotel could do with advertising what's going on a little better, didn't realise they had tennis, mini golf until the last day and that there's aqua aerobics classes etc. Overall, hotel was good, lots of choice at breakfast.

Dionysos Hotel Rhodes May-June 18

We had a “luxury apartment” the furnishings we regarded as being cheep; however, the apartment was a good size. We requested a quiet room and were given probably one of the noisiest rooms (Block 1 next to the road).

The lift is a very small 3 person lift serving 5 floors with approximately 60 rooms. Totally inadequate.

By no stretch of the imagination is this a genuine 4 star hotel. No kettle in the room, additional payment to use the room safe, the room towels were virtually thread bare. We requested a non-smoking room and were given a smoking room. The draconian rules that the management impose upon their guests have been covered by other reviewers.

On a positive note the cleaning staff were very efficient and personable.

The hotel has a lovely plush entrance, fantastic pool area, excellent restaurants and snack bars, and incredibly helpful and polite staff. The bedrooms could do with a bit of modernising. It is close to the beach but the beach itself is pebbly and with the constant noise of traffic from a very busy main road. Likewise the restaurants on this road were not ideally situated. However there is a bus stop 5 mins away with very regular buses to Rhodes town and onwards to other beaches and locations.
