We had a great stay at the Quality Inn in Waverly, IA. The hotel was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect way to start the day. We would definitely stay here again!

I’m usually not one to leave a bad review, but I felt very violated during this stay. They had gone into our room during breakfast, and when we went back after we were done eating, our keys did not work. For reasons unbeknownst to us, they had deactivated our keys an hour before check out, all of our things were still in the room. When I went to ask for a new key, the lady asked me how old I was and asked for my ID, and how many people were in the room. I had already given them my ID at check in. I had a total of three people in a room with two queen beds, not to mention the room was disgusting, and the breakfast was also gross. The apple juice had literal chunks in the bottom. It seemed as
though someone had went through our room while we were eating breakfast and determined that we shouldn’t be allowed back in. We left the room clean, trash picked up, towels all in the tub, the usual etiquette even after they were so rude.

The bed was hard and I didnt sleep very well. I also felt a little unsafe walking in areas with no people to and from my car. Everything wss testricted from the front desk area so didnt feel as safe as I should have. I ran from my room to my car.

Meal at Applebees was awful. Not Quality Inn's area but food was subpar and expensive for what I received.

Would sleep in my car before I would stay there

I traveled over 15 hours to arrive to a room that smelled moldy and musty! This room was on the second floor. Asked for a different room. This time the room was on the first floor. Open the door and the room was still dirty from the previous guests and not cleaned by housekeeping. Provided me with the room next to it that has been cleaned but still had the mold and musty smell. At this point my daughter and I were just tired and hungry. I told her to spray some perfume in the room and hopefully smells better when we come back from eating. It did not. It started giving us a headache and at that point I told my daughter to load the car we are going somewhere else. When we grabbed the bags we noticed that felt damp. I go to the front desk and let her know it was not working for us and we were checking out. She told me she had to charge me for the night, which at that point I did not care. The only good that came out of it was the fact I received a voicemail saying they were not charging me at all and would refund all my money. Its funny when I spoke to people at the basketball camp she attended they words moldy and musty smelling were said each time I said about our couple hours staying at that location.

Smelly hotel

Ended up not staying. Friends checked in before us and left because it was so gross. We stopped by and the smell was awful and no one was at desk-we had just driven 4 hours and decided to get food and stay somewhere else.

I arrived about 40 min. early and the lady at the front desk let me do an early check in so I didn't have to sit around and wait. Very much appreciated!

I got back to the room late and picked up take out from a neighboring chain restaurant. Got to the room and found that they didn't include utensils or condiments. I went to the front desk and asked if there was anyway I could get a fork and knife. He opened up the breakfast area and let me grab what I needed. Again, very much appreciated!!

I've always had a good experience staying here and will keep coming back. Thanks for the great treatment that I've continued to receive!

Staff was helpful, our reservation got messed up and a pet room was booked correctly. The front desk attendant helped us get us into a pet room and avoid extra charges. Room was clean. Bedroom headboard was odd power outlet only on right side made plugging in devices at night harder.

We bought a 2 queen room and when we got there the beds were only full sizes. Plus our room smelled like wet dog. Also the air conditioner would only run for short periods. Hot tub was luke warm.

Justin was super polite and friendly and both he and the woman in the morning were very accommodating to my needs for my daughter’s wedding cake and provided a place to keep it cold until the wedding. Justin also made sure that I could grab a snack of cereal for my 5 year old grandson when the vending machine was not work. Above and beyond for the whole staff starting with Justin on check in and the ladies Saturday morning asking about how the wedding went. I am so very happy to have stayed in your hotel. Aces all the way around!!!!

Terrible Customer Service & Unsafe/Uncomfortable

Terrible experience with staff. The “managers” attitude was very bad. She tried to not allow my kids in the pool saying they wasn’t “registered” to the room. 1st night we stayed on the first floor & the window was being secured with a random wooden pole. The next day when I asked to be moved to the 2nd floor because of the safety of my family and belongings the “manager” act like she didn’t wanna do it. She ended up putting us in a room on the 2nd floor & that room heater made noises so loud that I had to turn it off overnight to try to sleep & that still didn’t fix the issue because it still went off & on throughout the whole night waking us up almost every time. & of course since it’s the winter time we woke up freezing cold. Only reason I didn’t ask to change rooms again because that woman attitude was terrible. Would never stay here again . Hotels cost too much nowadays to be treated like you snuck in & don’t belong by the employees who wouldn’t have a job without the customers.

No late check out

We were there for a funeral and asked for a late check out due to the funeral not being until 3 PM. They said we could check out at noon, but the cleaning staff started to pester us at 10:30 am about when we would leave because they had a full hotel that night and needed to get all the rooms clean. We had three rooms booked. I hauled some bags out to the car and my room key was shut off at 11 am so we had to get our door reopened.

Enjoy the amenities in this Waverly hotel

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at this modest hotel. It certainly exceeded our expectations. Our room was immaculately clean and the beds and bed linens very nice quality. The TV service was good, breakfast was a normal small-hotel buffet, and the parking/elevator were convenient. The big draw for us, however, were the pool and hot tub--both well maintained and at just-right temperatures. These were amenities one might expect in a more expensive hotel, and we certainly enjoyed them! If you're visiting the Waverly area, we'd definitely recommend you stay at the Quality Inn.

Definitely recommend!

Checked in at 3:30am and told the gentleman at the front desk to give me a quiet room and that needed to get some sleep. 8am in the morning the alarm goes off in the room, then at 9:45am the front desk calls me to ask if I’m staying another night when my reservation was for two nights. The bottom line is there are better hotels in town, I highly recommend using one of them!

Have stayed here many times when we are in the Waverly area area. Staff is friendly, they serve a decent breakfast and rooms and area are clean very convenient shopping at Walmart, eating at Applebee’s, Taco Bell and grocery shopping.

Very clean facilities. Friendly and professional staff. New a/c units in the rooms! I have to have a fan running to sleep and these new units have a continuous fan now. We always stay here when we visit our daughter and her family. The breakfast is good and plentiful, and our grandchildren love the pool! We’ll definitely be back.

We stayed at this hotel for a soccer tournament and we checked in room felt like a sauna when we walked in . My son placed his water bottles In the fridge and the fridge wasn’t even connected. Breakfast wasn’t very good didn’t have much to choose from either.

Although we didn’t need a lot of assistance, the interactions we had were very friendly. The hotel, the room, the pool/spa and parking lot were all very clean. We enjoyed the hut tub and also the dry sauna.

This hotel is very easy to get to with ample parking. Even though there’s a WalMart next door, it’s on the edge of a quiet town, so not a lot of noise. And it was handy to run into WM when I realized I forgot to bring my Bedtime tea.

We found the area really only offers chain food for dinner, but the next town is larger and an easy 20 minute drive.

We only went to the breakfast one day and found it to be traditional hotel items. We were able to grab a yogurt cup. Although most items not for us, the options were waffles, cereal, bread, apples, eggs and sausage.

We suggest visiting the downtown Waverly Get Roasted for good coffee and pastries, also downtown ThinkWell for roasted coffee beans.
