This property is MUST if you're staying in La Paz excellent service and the staff was so friendly. The restaurant was delicious, seriously one of the best experiences. It is a bit further from central La Paz but that was never an issue since the cable car is just a few blocks away.

My only negative comment is that this is the first time I have issues with asking for extra coffee in the room. My wife and I normally have a coffee when we wake up and before breakfast. When I asked for more, I was told that the Hotel provides only one individual packet per room and as a courtesy ... After travelling around the World and staying in many hotels, this was a first to me. I'll be back, but I'll bring my own instant coffee.

The swimming pool was the best. I loved the fact it was heated. Unfortunately, I we woke up in the morning to a bathroom filled with tiny ants that were all over the bathroom sink. I did make them aware but the staff did not seem to care. My husband and I celebrated our 21st anniversary and they are the most expensive. We have stayed at Ritz Apart, the Atix, and a couple others. I just feel this place was a bit too pricey. But my husband told me not to compare it to the US hotels. I think I should since they ask for US money. Anyway, other than the ants and the strong smell of Lysol in the elevator everything thing else was ok. The pool was the best but not enough to return. The salad made my husband sick and we only received a partial refund for that. I wish the staff could stay at an American hotel for just one night. We travel alot because if work so maybe I am being to hard on this hotel. We gave them 4 stars because it was super clean minus the ants

I stayed in this hotel constantly with my daughters. I live in La Paz, and there are no pools that we know of so we rent a room and stay there quite often. It is April 12 and I’ve stayed in this hotel about four times this year alone. They never want to upgrade you the room which is very disappointing, especially considering as much time as we spend there and money. I’m a Gold member with Expedia and I also stay there quite frequent and they still will not upgrade my room. This particular time I stayed there on a Monday, which is the least busy time in la Paz and I still couldn’t get them to give me an upgrade. I am a great tipper, I eat at the restaurant, I get room service, I’ve gotten spa service, and I still can’t get them to give me a room upgrade. That to me is absolutely ridiculous. All in all it’s a nice hotel I just can’t see why they can’t twist their arm a little bit and give me that upgrade, but some people are just too petty. So sad.

We stayed in the Casa Grande for six days and found everything to be of the highest caliber. The best! We were able to walk all over Calacoto to visit friends, take the teleferico to the city center and easily catch a cab for other destinations.
The staff was helpful, the waiters excellent, and food delicious. We plan to return.

For a hotel, that is supposed to be the best hotel, and with the prices day charge, I would expect a different level of awareness. I when I asked for my VIP benefits they made me feel like if I was some kind of welfare case asking for some kind of handout.
This was exactly the text message I received:
“Señor xxx, buenos días.
Disculpe respóndele hasta ahora. Lamentablemente no es posible cuándo son Reservas por internet (Expedía).
Hicimos la excepción la última vez. Lamentablemente tenemos restricciones.”
So they’re saying that it is not possible for them to give me any kind of upgrades when I make my reservation online, but Expedia is an online reservation app. It makes absolutely no sense for them to say that. Then she says they have restrictions. So if you have restrictions that maybe they should take their hotel off of VIP status. Because the benefits I was asking for for Expedia Gold members which I am one and have been one for years.

One of the days I came to pick up one of my friends that was staying in the hotel, and I parked my vehicle in front. The parking lot and front area were completely empty. One of the doorman like some kind of parking lot patrol came and said that I have to move it I said my friend will be here in 5 min. He said we need to keep this whole space empty at all times. And again I would have no problem if there was people waiting but the hotel lobby in parking we’re completely empty. You’re telling me you can’t wait 5 min! Get off VIP!!

The hotel is overall good but the magnetic card system to access the rooms is terrible, it is completely outdated, I had to ask for new keys every day sometimes more than once, at a time we counted 8 cards that didn’t work. This was a big frustration during the trip. Also, to access the parking using the elevator, hotel personnel need to activate access to the lower floor with physical key although the elevator allows magnetic card use for access for the upper floor and there is a security guard at the parking level at all times, another frustrating way the hotel is managed. Food was medium quality.

People be aware. We had booked this hotel for about a week but my mom got sick and we couldn’t travel. They didn’t give us back not even a dollar back. This is unheard of in this industry. We have reserved 2 rooms and they didn’t care about working with us. More than 2800$ gone.

This hotel is located in a convenient area of the Southern part of LP. Rooms are spacious and clean, pool is great, you can see stars above when you are swimming. My only complaint is they need more plugs fo cellphone charging near bed, had to disconnect lamp to charge.

nice place. the better of the 2 Casa Grandes (the other is on Calle 7). this one is on Calle 16.

the staff was absolutely wonderful and accommodating in every way.

elevator is card-keyed and staff watches and makes an effort to recognize everyone and generally know/greet their guests by name. formal but friendly.

breakfast set-up is very good with a baby-omelet station. not huge ones but you can get 2nds. fruits, cereals, pretty much as full of a continental breakfast as I've seen at any ritz carlton. there's like 3 areas to take it all in. a good 30-40ft broken into sections.

massage was good. facilities looked very good altho I didn't take them in. wet and dry saunas, HT and decent sized pool, altho not much view from it. surrounded by plants tho. roof coverings and those exterior clear panels generally frosted by the extreme LP sun, I'm guessing.

hotel is laid out as a towering hollow cavern, with rooms on the perimeter of the building itself. we have a hotel like that in my city. honestly, the place looks better from the inside, as there's not really a place outside to appreciate this places' architectural features. also, be aware there is a view-side and non-view (neighborhood, not wall) side.

Excellent place in the rich part of La Paz, far away from the city center and airport (but nothing else of reasonable quality available closer). Excellent staff, trying to help and assist. Breakfast is fairly poor and Internet is not good in some rooms (we stayed in 3 different rooms). Swimming pool and spa are worth visiting.

MARVELOUS HOTEL IN LA PAZ BOLIVIA

I had a very pleasant stay at this nice hotel, service since checking in was great, location is in an excellent district with a lot of things walking distance, very nice personnel service oriented, rooms are clean nice and comfortable the only downfall has to be more with my personal preference of bed which I like very firm mattress and this has very soft, but I'm sure a lot of guests will like them a lot. I would only add a larger shower soap since the hand soap is quite small. I had breakfast at the restaurant and a business meeting and food is excellent, service excellent and so I like this hotel very much! I travel and stay in hotels for business at least twice a month.

Hotel Casa Blanca is a modern hotel in the San Miguel Zone. However, it’s staff is not accommodating and make things difficult with burocratic processes. Sometimes I feel they are spying on you, in terms of what guests you invite to your room etcetera. Overall, missing the whole “the guest is always right” and focus on excellent guest experience/service.

The room was nicely appointed and quite modern. However, the air-conditioning caused endless problems because it didn't work properly. To be fair, the hotel staff did their best to fix the issue. (Erica being the main person.who tried her best to alleviate all the issues.) Secondly, the wifi was initially so slow one couldn't even access one's emails. Finally, I was put in a room with a router which solved the problem. It was not until I got to the room with the router that I was able to finally get some English TV news.
Breakfast was very good, giving everyone lots of choice. Service was exceptional, especially Marcello, who prepared eggs or whatever you desired.
Overall, the problems I encountered and the lack of some amenities one would expect in a five star hotel put a damper on my overall stay. However, I must say that Franco at the front desk was amazing and went out of his way to accommodate my needs.
Nevertheless, considering the price of the room, my stay here was filled with endless frustration. Of course, as I've said, the hotel staff was great but it still doesn't make up for the flaws in this five star hotel.

Like I said perfect for business but maybe you could look for a hotel more central if travelling and staying for a short time but apart from that the hotel is just perfect.

My stay in Hotel Casa Grande was a wonderful experience. The hotel is impeccable. Facilities are updated, clean and very comfortable. It has a beautiful pool and a fantastic restaurant with delicious food and juices. Morning buffet breakfast is really good. Staff is super kind and you receive complimentary things during your stay. Number 1 Hotel in LA Paz\n

Excellent hotel in Zona sur, close to the Megacenter. The hotel is new and modern with an indoor pool and jacuzzi. The restaurant served a quality complimentary breakfast and the 2 bars were also nice. Ignacio the concierge spoke perfect English and arranged all my tours of San Francisco and Calle de Las Brujas. You can walk to the green cable car station and take an aerial view of the city on the green and yellow lines. The city is safe and the security at hotel monitors the taxis used. Airport taxi was 14 USD and local taxi to the mall was 2 USD. I Definitely recommend this Casa Grande.

Best hotel in South America!

I would dare say this is the best hotel I've stayed in for all of South America. Clean rooms, good service, decent area, wonderful breakfast with custom omelettes, and VERY comfortable beds and A/C and wi-fi working very well. I also enjoyed the TV with lots of channel options. The bathroom was nice too and had ample towels. Would definitely be back here!

Horrible customer service

Nice hotel but starting to deteriorate. Wall mounted hair dryer broke and they were unable to provide a replacement. Even 24 hours later they hadn't fixed it and instead they told me I wasn't using it correctly. There were ants in the bathroom. Additionally, the room had 3 telephones but only 1 worked.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. In addition to telling me i was using the hairdryer incorrectly (after which I took a video to show them otherwise), they accused us of taking a washcloth and my father who was staying in another room of taking a bathrobe (neither of which were true). At the restaurant they brought my husband the wrong dish and when we told them, they said that was what we ordered and did not redo it or remove it from the bill. I ordered the pejerey (fish) which by taste had gone bad. They neither offered to replace it nor remove it from the bill.

Breakfast buffet was nice, as was the swimming pool.

The hotel manager was horrible. It was our second time back at the hotel. Our first time in the hotel was wonderful. We left to see another city (Sucre) and we returned to La Paz and checked into the hotel a second time. The second time the hotel manager tried to send us an extra bill he claimed he \"forgot\" to bill us for during our first stay. He was not even present to give us the bill but had a man at the front desk give us the bill. The front desk man was very confused and wasn't even sure what was happening and the hotel manager was not even present.

5* Hotel in quiet part of the city

The hotel is located in an affluent domestic part of La Paz where wealthy people live. For that reason it is some way from the centre but is quiet although I'm not sure that there is anywhere to walk to around here. The rooms are located off of galleries on three sides of a central full height atrium. The fourth side is glass and contains a swimming pool and gardens. The rooms are modern and beautifully appointed. For security reasons and privacy be aware that your opening window will be adjacent to that of the room next door and there is a walkway outside the window for building maintenance, so don't leave the window open when leaving the room. The ground floor restaurant includes an adjoining conservatory with bower and lemon trees. There is a bar on the top floor with nice views but is popular with locals. Staff helped me with currency (I didn't have any as it is not convertible outside Bolivia) and paid for taxis for me arriving at the hotel.

The hotel and all it's facilities are definitely top notch. The restaurant downstairs is a great spot to grab a bite and has a fine breakfast. The staff was even kind enough to leave us some breakfast at 4:30am as our flight out was pretty early.

There were a few things that were disappointing:

1. We brought a couple guests to the room to hang out for a couple hours. The hotel made such a big deal stating that we weren't allowed to have additional guests in the room at any point even if they are not staying over (One of the most ridiculous rules I've ever heard). Even though the guests did leave after a few hours, the hotel charged us an additional fee for just having them there.

2. The hotel accused us of stealing a hand towel and tried to charge us for it. We had to argue with the manager and finally got it dropped.

3. The bed sheets felt like scratching paper.

I organized a 3 day seminar at the hotel and stayed there too. the rooms are comfortable, modern and well kept. The neighborhood is very pleasant. The service was excellent both in the rooms and for the conference. The staff was very pleasant and willing to adapt to the needs of the day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I booked a regular room and got upgraded at the front the desk to one of their suites, this room is incredible and it has a great view. the service is excellent, hotel staff understand the meaning of customer is always first.... in general this is a great Hotel in La Paz for business or pleasure. do not hesitate to book it!. and if you have the chance to book the suites then you will enjoy it more.

Cool and modern hotel in downtown Calacoto

The hotel was excellent. Staff were courteous and rooms were great. At 2 am in the morning reception staff organized a driver for us to leave at 7 am for a day trip to Lake Titicaca. They really went the extra mile!
Breakfast buffet was generous and rooftop bar spectacular.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

Best Hotel In La Paz

Modern, clean, very good business hotel. One of the few modern high-quality hotels in the city - a lot of the competition is in need of a refurb. International 4-star standard, but a 5+ by Bolivian standards. Good area: safe, plenty of decent eating, nightlife and shopping options nearby and at lower altitude than the centre of the city (it's in the Zona Sur which is the rich part of town). Good rooftop bar which is also popular with non-resident monied locals. Overall, highly recommended and I will be back. La Paz needs more hotels like this - equivalents that springs to mind are the Stannum and Hotel Europa if this one is full, but there really isn't anywhere better than here at the minute IMO. Only gripe: no bathtub.

Enjoyed a lovely two night break in this hotel in La Paz. The room decor and facilities were perfect and the entire hotel was very luxurious. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna/steam room facilities were great. The restaurant served brilliant food and had a fantastic lunch offer, which was great value for money. Casabar on the 8th floor had great views and served lovely cocktails. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Fabulous Hotel in La Paz

Casa Grande in La Paz was outstanding. The entire staff went out of their way to make our 11 day stay exceptional! We highly reccomend Casa Grade in La Paz for business or pleasure. The restaurant is also excellent! And also the gym and spa.

Best hotel in La Paz

Modern, spacious, comfortable and well kept rooms. Very attentive and competent staff. Very good quality of food (breakfast, dinner). Good and well kept facilities (pool, fitness). Hotel is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood in the south of La Paz, ~20 minute drive from the city center, but still with many shops and good restaurants in walking distance.

We moved to Casa Grande after one night at another \"top rated\" hotel (Boutique style, #1 rated in La Paz by Tripadvisor ...) which was awful in all of the above mentioned regards - what a difference the Casa Grande made!

By far, this is the best hotel in La Paz, nice and quiet, good staff, reazonable prices, excellent and clean room

My suggestion is that they will open the bar on Sundays.

The nicest hotel I saw in two weeks in S. America

... was unexpectedly here in La Paz. Very deluxe modern accommodations. It's a bit further from the airport in Calacoto, but also a bit lower in elevation than most other choices, which is one reason this is one of the nicest parts of town. Good restaurant in-house, and plenty of bilingual staff, which is not always the case in Bolivia. Make sure to call them a day or two before you arrive to arrange a pick-up from the airport!

Good upscale hotel in La Paz

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel due to its \"lower\" altitude of 3200 meters in La Paz and in a very nice neighbourhood, in addition to it being just 2 years old. The view is best with the suite and Rm 1601 or 1701; we stayed in an upgrade regular room at 1707 which is the next best. Except for one male front desk staff, the rest of the staff were generally very nice and went out of their way to be helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent though the selection is a bit limited.

My hotel in La Paz

I am very pleased with this hotel. The building is new so all is new!. The food is amazing, the gym, sauna and steam room are great. I am not used to La Paz altitude yet but the steam room help me with my breathing. The food in the restaurant is amazing. People are very helpful and corteous. The bar has a great view. The only thing I did not like was that in the bar smoking is allowed even tho food is served as well. The Terraza was not open even though it was not raining.. Other than that it is a wonderful hotel I recommned.

Very nice hotel

This was my first time at the hotel and it is very close to the airport which is useful after a long flight but not that central. The service was good but it was very annoying not having an iron in the room. I therefore had to pay for ironing.

Great hotel, needs better WIFI and restaurant staf

Hotel was GREAT and rooms were very comfortable. WIFI is something to be desired, connection was terrible. Restaurant could be more attentive as at times it took over 10 min to get a waiter to our table on the terrace.

Great hotel useless staff

The hotel and the facilities were great, but staff is useless when you need help. I made my reservation thru hotels.com and when I arrived to the hotel they did not had my reservation, they told me they were full. No one had a answer and could not help. Finally after many hours trying to figure out why my reservation was not respected, I got a room. My reservation was full paid and at check in again they were charging me the whole stay and I show them my reservation was paid and again a long journey trying that some one could fix this issue.

Best option in La Paz

This is a brand new hotel very well located in La Paz. With a good internet connection and a good breakfast buffet is a great option for business travellers and others. The staff couldn't be more helpful, always trying to do their best. Probably one of the best options in La Paz I would definitely recommend this hotel.
