Charming and comfortable hotel on the fringes of the old town. Everything is very walkable. Lots of restaurants in the immediate area and down in the port area. There was a small market on Friday right outside the hotel with a coffee truck however everything was very quiet at the weekend.

Unique Citadel location

Bonifacio is an amazing Citadel and would recommend a stay here for 2-3 nights. It’s a busy centre an being already in the centre before the day trippers arrive is a bonus. Great facilities in the hotel including pool, spa and electric vehicle charging.

We stayed at the port side suite, it was fantastic with great views, easy parking and walk to shops and restaurants along the best part of Bonifacio. There was also parking at the main resort so if we decided not to walk up the hill, it was easy too. Staff were wonderful, the spa is excellent and the pool lovely. We’d def stay again.

We had the most perfect stay. The location is ideal with perfect views of the harbour and easy walk to the old town. Our room with the terrace had a beautiful view of the harbour and was well appointed. The staff are very helpful and we enjoyed laying by the pool.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Genovese. Parking was simple and straight forward. The view from our room and balcony was simply unreal. The bed was comfortable and air conditioning was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed dinner from the hotel restaurant twice and both meals were excellent. The breakfast was a little too expensive for the options supplied so we only had it once. The spa amenities were included in our stay and provided some great relief after a long day of walking. Would happily stay here again and highly recommend. You can't beat the location if you want to spend some quality time in Bonifacio.

I loved this hotel. Very comfortable! I loved the location to walk straight out the door to a heritage site with amazing views. And the heritage village and shops are right at the doorsteps with soo many restaurants. Only problem is only the stairs access. And make sure you have transport to get there.

Amazing views of the harbour and sea. The ancient city walls are all around the pool which is very cool. We had drinks in an ancient turret, which was a great experience.
The location is also fantastic as you are in the old town.
We both enjoyed the lunch we had in the hotel and the drinks we had.

This hotel was awesome! We had a room over looking the water and the pool. The staff, especially the receptionist were incredible. (I’m sorry I forgot her name but she came from Madagascar). She was sooo helpful, polite and professional. She gave us directions to things we should do and see. Also, the hotel itself is great. Really well renovated very old building that gives it a nice aura about it.

We liked the location of the Hotel Genovese as well as the dining room. What we did not like was the lack of an elevator and the fact that not only did we have to walk down all the steps to get into the hotel, but all the luggage had to be carried down the steps when arriving and up all the steps when leaving. For that reason we did not bring our large luggage to our room. There was no offer to have the luggage carried for us.

Great location, but not worth with what you get

They turned off the AC and the front agent lied stating it would turn on… after calling several times, it was then I noticed he had left for the day. No replenishing of the water bottle, no extra towels and the technology with respect to the doors doenst work properly. The spa steamer and steam bathe were not working and no staff to help

An absolute Jewel in the Crown

Our first time in Corsica, we stayed to celebrate our 30th Anniversary .. Loved the clean modern feel in a reclaimed site .. Old city walls , turrets and amazing views over the harbour. The staff were the absolute best I have ever come across, nothing was too much trouble .. The staff were all relaxed and friendly and this added to ambiance .. We hope to return in a few years

Amazing from the porter opening our taxi door to the concierge setting up a private boat tour and making restaurant recommendations. We stayed in the annex which had an oversized room and multiple balconies. We had an amazing view of the ships coming in and out and we were just steps to the lively scene on the marina. We ordered room service late night and it arrived promptly. The staff was delightful and the main hotel was super scenic and great for sunset.

Fabulous hotel in the citadel, quiet and elegant. Service was very good.
Excellent for gluten free/Coeliac.
Downside, the doors don’t stop the wind so the bedrooms can be noisy - it’s windy on the hillside.
The water wasn’t renewed after our first night and at over €300 per night we had expected that and turndown. Otherwise perfection.

This is the loveliest hotel - in a prime spot up in the citadel overlooking the harbour & the ramparts & town buildings opposite. Wow! What a view! And what a fabulous place! Friendly helpful staff, gorgeous pool, super comfy beds, fluffy towels & bathrobes, tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, safe - everything you need. Our room had a separate sitting room & outdoor terrace overlooking the harbour. Wow! Gorgeous! I wanted to move in forever. It’s luxurious but laidback & friendly. There are even a couple of hotel cats wandering about. Nothing not to like!

Best location in the middle of the old town, overlooking the harbour; very nice and helpful staff; beautiful room (we had a deluxe double), which I considered above standard, nice bathroom with good amenities;

Only negative points, but unfortunately quite important for a good stay in summer season: the Aircon is basically blowing cold air behind the curtain, away from the room, which doesn't get cool at all; we had to sleep on the floor one night (quite pricey for sleeping on the floor...) Next to the Aircon one night, as the night before we couldn't sleep as it was so smeltering hot inside the room.

The other downside was the bad, useless WiFi that didn't really work most of the time, and if, very slow; if you need to work, this would be very bad.

Unfortunately that made an otherwise great hotel with great staff a bit uncomfortable, but it's definitely a great hotel.

Superb location that justifies the price.

It´s not cheap but if you want the best view and the chillest atmosphere in Bonifacio downtown and/or old city, Genovese is the place to be. We spent ours at the poolside area, either lying in sunbeds reading books or standing along the old fortress walls watching boats enter and leaving the marina 150m below us.

great experience - but be aware of the location

We booked a luxury suite on the Hotels.com website that showed the amazing location of the hotel and pool at the citadel location in Bonifacio. When we arrived we found that we had been placed in the hotel annex located at the port, well away from the main hotel . There was no mention on the Hotel.com website booking page of the room being in an annex far away from the hotel amenities. The hotel kindly upgraded us to a better room, but were unable to move us from the port area. After adjustment, it turned out well and we loved being in the port location. The hotel ran a private shuttle to the main location on request.

Lovely room overlooking port.

We were at the port location, which was a great place to stay. Gorgeous, large room with its own parking spot. Fabulous view of the yachts, and lots of dinner spots. Two small balconies, and one larger balcony with table and chairs. Illy Espresso machine with no directions so I used YouTube. Internet difficult to get on for iPhone and iPad. It was late and reception couldn't help. Ended up going to provider's help site and clicked a link that enabled service. All the staff was wonderful and very helpful. We requested a self-guided walking tour. Nicolas gave us an itinerary to follow for the one full day we were there and it was absolutely perfect. Thank you!

Stayed at the marina suite rooms. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with great view of the marina and the citadel from 3 balconies. Very convenient to walk to restaurants and all tourist sites. Hotel decor needs a little update but other than that it's a fantastic place to stay.

Fantastic location in the old town of Bonifacio. The beds were uncomfortable, no warm water in the shower. The staff was not that service minded as you can expect from a € 350 per night hotel. It was good that they allowed pets in the hotel without any extra charges. We booked a so called junior suite but the room was nothing special compared with a normal standard room.

Gem of a hotel within one of the jewels of Corsica

Full of character and built into the city fortifications this hotel was an oasis of calm after a day walking along the cliffs or exploring the lanes of Bonifacio. Make sure you book into the main hotel where you can enjoy the very private pool and have an evening drink looking down on the harbour from one of the watch towers.
Highly recommended.

This hotel has been beautifully integrated into an historical walled city. The views and position are astounding situated high on the cliffs. We were there in the spring time so were unable to use the unheated pool but enjoyed overlooking the area from the breakfast room. Cold buffet breakfast was adequate and staff very helpful in all areas of service In the hotel. Great location to explore this historical city. Would return there again.

This is really a four-star hotel, and the best one out of the six we stayed at around Corsica. They gave us a suite in the annex, which is right on the wharf, for the same price as a double room--in low season no less. It was a fantastic place.

Easy to recommend this hotel. Friendly service, comfortable rooms and common areas, a beautiful view and pool, delicious hot breakfast, parking, beautiful pool, superior location for the city... what more could one want. Unfortunately the pool was too cold for our visit, but that's probably why there is good value for the money in the off season. The standard room was sufficiently spacious, with a sunny terrace overlooking the porch. Stay here!

Lovely (if expensive) hotel in a stunning town.

Extremely helpful and friendly concierge staff made us feel very welcome on arrival. Our room was huge with an enormous terrace overlooking the pool. The facilities are limited, but the pool area is absolutely stunning, with a phenomenal views from the original city walls.

The location couldn't be improved, on the edge of Bonifacio's rightly-famous old town, allowing you to get in before (and stay out later than) the hordes of coach parties who were still out in force in mid-September. The whole town is very walkable, provided you don't mind hills and steps, and this is the ideal location from which to explore it.

The breakfast was also nice, if a little expensive. The only complaint would be arrival - there is NOWHERE to park or even stop in Bonifacio and so the hotel car park understandably has an electronic gate. However, even once this was located, my fiancee had to run into the hotel to get the entry code from the staff, resulting in a couple of trips round the one-way system for me whilst I attempted not to hold all the traffic up. Sending the code to guests in advance would be far, far preferable!

Perfect hotel for Bonifacio

I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The location is perfect and the hotel is very tastefully integrated into the ancient city fortifications, with a beautiful view of the harbor. We are not really breakfast people, so we did not partake of the 20 Euro breakfasts and, instead, walked a few hundred meters to one of the many restaurants in the \"haute ville\" and had coffee, juice, and bread for 7 Euro. Parking was easy and secure at the hotel. Overall, the perfect place to stay in Bonifacio-which is a charming town with plenty to keep one busy for several days.

Lovely hotel well located

We just stayed one night. The room and hotel was lovely. We were on the ground floor looking at a wall but other rooms must have had a fabulous view of the sea or the old town as the hotel is built up against the old city wall that looks right out onto the sea and very close to the old town. The pool looked really nice too but we didn't get the weather to make use of it. Probably in June, July, August, it is great. Our room was modern with a boutiquey feel about it and a large luxurious shower room.

Perfect location for this area.

This hotel is one of the best we have had the pleasure of staying at during this trip. Modern, clean, quiet, and it has a great swimming pool to use at the end of the day! The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. We would recommend this hotel anytime, it is more expensive, but you get what you pay for....and that is good! Parking is available and in this area that is a generous plus! Staff even carry your bags down to the hotel as well....they call it body training for the day!

HOTELS.COM MISREPRESENTED THE LOCATION OF THE LUXURY SUITES WE BOOKED - OMITTED TO MENTION THEY ARE NOT ON THE MAIN SITE!! THEY ARE AT THE FOOT OF A STEEP HILL IN THE PORT AREA. HOWEVER THE HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND ACCOMMODATING ESPECIALLY AS IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT.AS A RESULT WE ATE THE MOST EXPENSIVE (AND LIMITED) BREAKFASTS EVER (20 EUROS )WITHOUT CHARGE.

A dream 24 hours in beautiful Bonifaccio aGenovese

Wish the breakfast was included, at the price they charge. Nonetheless, the hotel is one of the fenciest I have seen. The pool is gorgeous, the view is breathtaking.
Bathrooms are amazing , room is a bit small but the balcony and the view makes up for it.

A little gem in Bonifacio

Totally unexpected. That horrible feeling when you book a hotel, you get there and immediately you want to stay for a week. But alas you only have a day. This was how we felt about this hotel. Great location, short walk (hike - LOTS of steps) to the ferry terminal to Sardinia and so close to all the alleys and shops in the old town. The hotel itself is gorgeous, there is a pool which is the perfect location to watch the sun go down and indulge in some french champagne. L'Occitane products in the super modern bathroom. Just one of those places. Stay in the shoulder season (September or May), a little bit less mayhem but still warm enough.

Great location in old town

Hotel Genovese is a great boutique hotel - a modern hotel in the midst is the old town with a great view over the port and the cliff face, a really nice and clean pool and a modern take on things. Staff are friendly and the breakfast delicious (especially their mini pastries!). The rooms were a little cosy though - the bathroom was a bit pokey but otherwise the hotel was a great place to stay.

Chambre correcte, petit-déjeuner bon avec du choix…

Accès par l’entrée très peu adaptée aux personnes âgées

Pas de service de restauration le soir, aucun room service ni distributeur disponible, une liste de restaurants est disponible mais hélas rien d’ouvert le dimanche soir hors saison…👎

Sehr angenehmes Stadthotel in Top-Lage, direkt im Zentrum der Altstadt. Den traumhaft gelegenen Pool und den kleinen Spa-Bereich konnten wir aus Zeitgründen nicht nutzen. Sehr freundliche und kompetente Mitarbeiter. Jederzeit gerne wieder.
