The room was clean but small. The shower was ridiculous. I flooded the bathroom every time I showered. They need to upgrade the shower doors. The bathroom was ridiculously small. The location was amazing. Great walk ability. Minimal amenities. The breakfast is an added charge and expensive for what it is so we went elsewhere for breakfast.

They have at least 3 different buildings, register for least expensive room and you get a closet. The ac wasn’t efficient, at check in no one showed me how to operate anything inside, TV had no signal at all, lighting very poor as was furnishings in my room. The main hotel seemed beautiful from what I saw. Breakfast was typical
Carbs and fruits, no bacon & eggs….there were scrambled something!!! I couldn’t even try them and im not picky. I would not recommend this hotel.

We were disappointed with the room which was noisy. The noise was from the normal movement of furniture, other guests in the floor above, next door or in entrance. The issue is a lack of suitable sound insulation – the exposed ceilings mean there is only the floorboards above. The room also had little natural light (one window to an internal courtyard) so we had to step outside to check the weather.

On a positive note the location is close to the centre.

The female desk clerk was pleasant and she tried to be helpful. We were put in their secondary building which was a real dump. We booked two beds and were given one. When we asked that the beds be pulled apart, we were advised that the chamber maids were gone. The man who brought us extra sheets refused to pull the beds apart and rudely stated that it’ll get done “tomorrow” and then he walked away. The separation of the beds became our issue. Ugh! The shower was so small and inconvenient. The upside, the breakfast was good and the restaurant staff members were pleasant.

I was directed by Google to the old Marco Polo hotel however this one has no reception or staff on site (except cleaners at times). I pressed the buzzer and told to go to the new Marco Polo hotel (about 60 metres) to checkin and then come back to the old hotel for my room. Breakfast is also back in the new hotel.
The new Marco Polo hotel is still called Gallery Rooms on Google and other hotel websites. The new hotel looks very nice inside although I didn’t see the rooms.

Unfortunately my room was in the old hotel. Even on the outside it looks dirty and uninviting. The rooms were of a good size but that’s it. Firstly there is a lot of noise both from outside and inside. Secondly the shower is a joke. It is so small and the shower head is a small stream. The room had a fridge with drinks to purchase but the fridge wasn’t on so they were all warm. Who would pay 3 euros for a warm can of Coca Cola? There is no kettle or tea/coffee and not even tissues.

The hotel is a 3 star but at the very low end. To be fair, the hotel was in a convenient location and breakfast was great. However I would recommend booking Gallery Rooms instead.

Great Base for visiting Verona

The hotel is ideally situated near the Arena square, with local shops, supermarket and restaurants.
A 20 minute walk to the train station, for those wanting to take a train to Venice.
Friendly service, good breakfast. We would give a 3 star plus rating.

Hairdryer didn’t work. Aircondition was just a fan blowing wind around but not adding cool air. This is required when you get a room under the roof. It was hot. Ok for us adults but not okay for a little baby and a dog.
Dog didn’t cost extra which was good and Baby also. But it was very hot in the room.
The shower didn’t work quite well. Water stayed in it for too long before it was drained so we had to have a break between taking showers.
The shower head was mounted incorrectly so it would fall down all the time.
The toiled was in a little corner in the bathroom and it was not very comfortable. For a 10 year old child no problem but adult size people would have issues with their legs and knees on that toilet.

I was nearly blamed for showing up at 8:45pm, which is when the hotel apparently close the check-in. Let me remind all, it is a 3-starred hotel in central Verona. Nevertheless the receptionist could have at least prepared the key since I was the last arriving customer and she was in an extreem rush. So once done with the admin, she took me to a nearby building (100m away) displaying the same name as the main one and ran away. Room cozy, small and pretty. Shower very clogged and completely empty soap. Good quality breakfast, great croissants. Not happy! Will look for other options in Verona…

A horrible end to a nice stay

The hotel was nice although the bed was not super comfortable.
On hotel it was written that the City tax was 2 euros for people between 15-25 and for over 25 was 2.50. Given that me and my partner are both under 25 I pointed this out to the receptionist and she raised her voice telling me that I would have to pay 5 euros for the both of us. I then politely showed her the passage on the website where it was explained and she kept insisting the website was wrong.

Fantastic location within walking distance to city centre and tourist attractions also only a 15 minute walk to the main train station from where you can get trains to Venice etc. for a day trip. We used the jacuzzi and sauna room too and it was so relaxing with nice Aromatherapy smells and relaxing music. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be back to stay there in the future.

I would absolutely stay here again! The location was perfect. Very close to everything you could want to see however situated on a quiet street so you could sleep at night! The staff were welcoming and very helpful and the included breakfast was a bonus. The wifi was also very reliable which is not always my experience when travelling so for a business trip that was very convenient. 10/10.

I did not like that I paid nearly £200 for a room that the safe did not work, the toilet seat had a large chip out of it, the electric sockets didn’t hold the adapter properly and the mirror in the bathroom had seen better days. Breakfast was appalling and I felt sorry for the guy who was trying but they had run out of everything in a tired looking basement. Overall very disappointing and it was the only hotel out of six we stayed at didn’t do anything special for our anniversary. I wouldn’t stay here again and not would I recommend it to anyone else

Stay was lovely though checking in was stressful. Though I received email asking for my arrival time no where did it say we needed to reserve a parking spot. Got there at 430 to find no spots left. But the hotel did make room in their garage and it worked out but was not s great way to start the visit off. They need a bigger breakfast room. People were writing and we felt very rushed. Staff very busy! Hotel was in great location making Verona easily walkable.

We stayed for two nights and found the hotel (finally) after several hours of looking for it. There is no parking so unloading luggage and finding a public parking structure was a major hurdle.
The Hotel and Staff are very professional and accommodations are
comfortable and attractive. The man who manages the Breakfast deserves honorable mention because he puts in great effort to make sure everything is \"perfecto.\" We really enjoyed our stay. Not so Fun was that we had multiple beggars coming up and asking for money even when we sitting down at an outside café for Lunch. They are not offering any service but just say \"I am also hungry, like you and have no job so I need money.\" Only in Verona did we experience this. It is a big problem!

Everything is nearby, except for the staff

This hotel is in the center of historic Verona, close to just about everything. That was an important seling point. The rooms also looked very interesting, not cookie cut, but that was disappointing. The hotel is in two different buildings. If you are in the building that we were in, the rooms seem less interesting, More importantly, you have to walk down the street to the other building to have breakfast. Sometimes that walk is in the rain. It also means that your building may have no staff at the front desk to provide security and service. We had to go to the other building to report a refrigerator that did not work to our standards. Wiith our second complaint, the refrigerator was replaced late into the evening. Even that did not seem very cold. I think that it was probably too warm even for the Italian preference not to use ice. It did not seem to damage the insulin we carried.

Disappointing hotel close to the centre

On arrival at 2.30pm staff pleasant and helpful.
Given room 1 which was in the reception area. On entering the room noticed one of the light fittings was at a wierd angle and only 1 bulb working on closer inspect you could see the wires and there was a big gap between the wall and fitting. Touched the light Fitting and the whole fitting fell only to be held up by the wires. Went to reception who said they would get someone to look at it but no apology.
On returning to our to our room around 6.30pm some had changed the bulb but the wires and fitting where in the same position and turned on. I went to reception to be told that the electrician would be at the hotel at7pm to rectify the issue. At 8pm he arrived and we left him to sort the fittings, again no apology from anyone.
The room was extremely noisy due to the reception staff and guests talking at reception,the traffic coming up the narrow road of cobbles and the entrance door to the hotel squeaking every time it was opened and the door slamming hard due to the weight of it. So not much sleep for us during our 3 nights.
Generally the staff where helpful and polite during our stay and very helpful sorting our transfer back to the airport.
Breakfast was adequate and staff serving breakfast very friendly and accommodating.
The city is amazing and the opera was spectacular at the arena de Verona.

We found the reception staff very helpful and pleasant. Our room was very comfortable and quiet.. A small armchair, a rug each side of the bed and a little more shelf space in the bathroom would have added to our comfort. Nevertheless the room was excellent.
The breakfast had a good choice of food and fresh fruit and yogurt.

Marco Polo is a nice hotel close to the historical centre and the major transport links. The staff were also friendly. We stayed in the modern building just down the street from the main hotel. This wasn’t an issue for us, and the WiFi connection there was fantastic. However, it did mean there were no staff around in the evenings.

A nice hotel, with a building either side of the road.
When we arrived the lady on reception was polite and welcoming, as well as offering us free cake, water a juice, a very nice touch for a 3 Star.
We asked what to do and where to eat in the area and we had some great recommendations, including 2 family run restaurants where the food was spectacular, and the price was too.
The room was really comfortable with a good size TV. Only channels in English were news, but we were in Italy and not there to watch TV, so not an issue.
Also has free wifi.
Bed was huge and comfortable, with pretty modern bathroom.
Our shower did have a faulty shower seal meaning some water came out onto the floor when showering, but we have informed them now and it will likely be fixed.
They gave new towels everyday which was also a nice touch.
Breakfast is SERVED UNTIL 11AM. Absolute winner. No getting up hungover at 8:55 to squeeze in some food. They also deliver the breakfast to your room FREE if you ring and order before 9AM. Really great service.
Overall it was a lovely hotel in a really fantastic area. All staff encountered had time for you and a smile on their face which really goes a long way to making your stay that much nicer.
If we end up back in Verona we would definitely stay there again!

Worth a visit.

Places like Verona that have history sometimes lack amenities. The Marco Polo has all the amenities except parking. Well, it has parking if you book it but while booking it wasn't clear whether you had booked or not. We hadn't. However,it was the only negative thing about our stay.
The hotel location is great, the staff knowledgeable and helpful and the hotel itself full of character.
Of course, we were in Verona for opera and it might be said that our perspective was skewed because of that but it isn't so. If you want to be in Verona, not for the opera, the Marco Polo is a good place to stay.
One minor niggle: no coffee making facilities. This is a pet moan of mine but a lot of hotels in Italy don't provide them. They ought to, really.
Overall, though, a great little hotel, friendly and comfortable. Definitely recommended.

Great location, just outside the busy part of the city but a 5 minute walk to the arena and the centre of Verona. We were in the annex which is a 30 second walk from the main hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean, with air conditioning for the hot August weather. Breakfasts were in our building and were delicious. Located on a quiet street.

The staff on reception where very helpful, the staff in breakfast room where even more so.
Th hotel room we had was very clean and serviced every day even Sunday,
The location for the arena at Verona could not have been better.

cozy, romantic spot near the Arena and downtown

It was perfect, cozy and comfortable. The bed linens were high quality, the bathroom was immaculate, and the bedroom windows had nice shutters. There was a good breakfast served downstairs, and it is worthwhile to make use of the spa services if you have the time.
Most importantly the location is excellent for experiencing all that downtown Verona has to offer, including the Arena and many shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend seeing an opera at the Arena (even if you are not \"opera people\"). There is no need to pay for the expensive seats close to the stage. You will see just fine from the upper levels and it is a great experience.
And for those with a short amount of time in the city, the sightseeing bus will give you an overview of all of the major sites in the city and you can get on and off as you please.

Cons: No ice machine or water dispenser available in the lobby during hot summer months.
No juice or milk in the mini fridge, and not enough water.

Nice hotel ....but some drawbacks

Nice room on 3rd floor in Annex. Redemption closed at11. Our flight was later so had to go. Another hotel to collect key I'm early hours of morning. Room nice and clean and good size. Bed was comfy. Bathroom shower was poor and shower head came off if you tried to adjust, squirting water everywhere. Staff was policy and helpful. Air conditioning was good and room was cool despot 30 degrees outside. Fridge in room didn't work other than the light coming on when you opened door !

Great Place to Stay for Wedding Aniversary

We were warmly greeted by Sara, given snacks and beverages. The check in was seamless and quick. Sara highlighted a map with all the local dinning and routes to the things we wanted to do and see. Every time we arrived back at the hotel Sara was their with a warm greeting and made our stay so awesome. The room was beautiful, the bed very comfortable. We came to Verona to celebrate our31st wedding anniversary. The hotel and the town were perfect for a memorable stay.
