Hotel Serenella is a hidden gem in the heart of Sirmione.
The staff at this hotel truly know what hospitality is all about.
EVERY member of the staff make you feel not only like a valued guest but a member of the family.
The location is wonderful and in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants of Old Town as well as the ferry.
Need anything… just ask..
a restaurant recommendation, where to park in Verona… special breakfast… DONE

A stunning old hotel right at the end of the peninsula of Sirmione. We had a long weekend in the gorgeous Vivaldi suite. It was spacious, clean and comfortable (except for the incredibly hard pillows!)

The staff are lovely and the breakfast is wonderful. The only criticism of the staff would be the owner who delivers the morning coffees. He was pretty rude and didn’t give the impression he was happy to see you.

Our stay was over a weekend and we hired a car. That was a mistake - the amount of people in Sirmione is incredible. There were a lot of restrictions around when you can and can’t bring your car into the town over weekends and special events - which we didn’t realise until we arrived!

I would stay at this hotel again and enjoyed our stay.

The guest exclusive pier was a beautiful area to relax and soak in the lake scenery and the sunshine. We would absolutely go back if we find ourselves in Sirmione again.

A charming, family-run hotel! Perfect and peaceful location. Lovely breakfast (that is quite flexible if you don't arrive exactly in the time slot you book). The private dock was an amazing amenity, and they even delivered my (very tasty) lunch and spritz to the dock after I ordered it by the pool. 100% recommend staying here, and it is an amazing value for the price.

Wonderful Hotel, All the staff are friendly and work really hard to give their guests a wonderful experience. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful served by two very hard working friendly ladies. One little niggle was that the tea bags etc were not replaced in the room however you can pick them up from the bar area and no milk in the room for tea or coffee however if you asked they do give you a small jug. Would we stay again YES 100%

The staff were extremely nice and wonderful. They were available all day until 11pm to answer questions. Staff is very knowledgeable on tourism to different towns on Lake Garda. Hotel is close to the town but also on the quieter side of Sirmione, giving us access to both peaceful part of town but also busier part of town. Room was cleaned timely and very thoroughly. I loved that our receptionist would say “buongiorno” every morning and “ciao” to greet us. Staff made hotel feel like home. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel in future.

I had such a fantastic stay here! I was solo travelling for Easter weekend and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They have their own private pier on the water which was perfect for the sunny days. The bartender made me an aperol spritz (in a jar) so I could take it down to the pier and enjoy the sun. The morning breakfast, although a bit slow, was very tasty and pretty vast as they had a small buffet, in addition to specific items you could order. Additionally, the room was great with air conditioning and a balcony, the bed was not the most comfortable but overall it was such a fantastic stay that I didn’t mind.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Serenella. It is a delightful mix of traditional and eclectic with plenty of comfortable places to sit.
We found the beds to be firm but fine for us and we appreciated the balcony with seating and view of the street.
We didn't mind ordering breakfast the evening before and we liked being able to select a later time. My husband would have preferred the option if toast but we were happy enough with the choices on offer.
It's an easy walk into the centre of Sirmione and it is mostly flat. We would definitely stay at Hotel Serenella again if we were visiting the area.

Our stay at Hotel Serenella was so memorable! We were traveling with our baby for the first time and the staff were super accommodating, we felt like family during our stay. The location is excellent, you can walk to all the main attractions… but honestly the hotel itself has so much to offer, we enjoyed having a drink on their beautiful terrace and spending time at their lakefront. What a treat!! We will definitely be back.

Enjoyed staying at Hotel Serenella very much. Little bit difficult to get to as it is located in a pedestrian area of Sirmione, but worth the effort. The pool was great, and liked having both breakfast and drinks in the garden. Walked to restaurants and the ferry. Sara was amazing. She helped us with transportation to Verona during the rail strike which relieved our stress and allowed us to enjoy our time.

The hotel was really cute, inside the old city and within minutes walk to the thermal baths. The staff were extremely friendly and very happy to accommodate. Loved our stay. Would not recommend bringing a car, because driving in the resticted zone is pretty nerve racking.

Driving to the designated parking area inside the old city walls was a bit of a challenge with a large number of pedestrians here for New Year's holiday, but once at the hotel we didn't want to leave anyway! Very walkable to restaurants, attractions, shops. Most comfortable and relaxed we have been during our 2 week trip across northern Italia. 😀

We wanted to come to Lake Garda for our honeymoon as it looks absolutely beautiful! We was not disappointed. The area is amazing and we are so glad we went.

The hotel was alright. First night we had a normal room which from pictures we thought would be lovely but it wasn’t up to scratch! The shower over flowed into the bedroom when used. The room we also had only had one charge point, very weird. The balcony’s with the normal rooms are not great they need a bit of TLC.

So being our honeymoon we made the decision to upgrade to one of suites, which was an extra €40 a night. But with that €40 it is worth it. The shower doesn’t leak into the room. We had not one but two plugs! The balcony’s were cleaner and had a small view of the lake which was nice. The staff when asked for anything during the day was so nice and helped us with anything we needed. In the evening the staff was not the best. We was treated a little like we was a big inconvenience and was made to feel bad if we needed anything. Trust me with this place they don’t like to give yah toilet paper so we had to ask a few times for them 😂

The bar is nice but only open 12-6. They don’t take cash and every gets charged to your room so make sure to keep track of that which I did and we wasn’t over charged anything which is good.

Overall it was good but if you can afford it I’d spend and extra €50 a night else where or spend it on the suites at this place because they are worth it to be fair.

Location was fantastic but hotel was very dated especially our room. It was clean though. The parking is off site and tricky to find and it has to be said, the owner (male) was not helpful when I said that my boyfriend was having trouble locating it. In fact, he snapped “it’s behind the church” in a rude manner. He also snapped that check out is not until 8am and we should have read that in our rooms (we needed to leave at 7:30am for a tour). The bill was already paid so it wasn’t an issue. He just made us feel unwelcome to be honest. The anircon in the room worked but the decor felt like a time warp from 1991 and they didn’t provide bottled water nor was the bar open late to get water which is a bit of a shock on our first night there during a heatwave. Other than that, the rest of the staff were nice in the hotel and location is great for walking into the town for dinner. It was safe also.

No air conditioning not even fans in the hotel communal areas makes anywhere outside of our hotel room unusable in 35 degree heat. Beds are rock hard like sleeping on concrete. Basic room is tiny with a view onto a wall. Staff not willing to even let us check in until 1pm after arriving on an early flight. Had to change our hotel after one night. Horrible attitude and unfriendly staff. Felt unwelcomed. Would not recommend. Extremely basic small hotel. Shame because location is great. Would not go to the lake from their jetty felt unclean. Total waste of money and a stressful start to our holiday. Stayed at Hotel Continental next doors completely different league of hotel was outstanding.

Excellent 1 week stay at hotel serenella. Old fashioned style (in a good way - lovely old couches and antique furniture), lovely staff. Small pool area but also has lovely pier onto the lake with sunbeds and shady area. Quiet but only a few mins walk to the busy parts of sirmione. No issue ordering breakfast ahead of time as its easy to change what you want or change the time the day before - or choose once and leave it for the whole stay - not the hassle some people say it is. Breakfast was lovely and the poolside bar served food and drinks up to 6.30. Would definitely stay again.

The lake access is the winner for this area

Pros:
- The lake access via the hotels own private area/jetty is fantastic. There are only around 10 sun beds though, but we got a spot every time we went down.
- You can take drinks / pay for delivery of drinks and food over to the jetty.
- All the staff were super friendly and helpful.
- We didn’t have the breakfast, but it looked amazing and good value for the amount and quality of food you got.
- It’s around a 10 min walk (max.) from the ferry. You can get this direct from Desenzano and other local towns - it’s very affordable per person, and much better than taking the bus from the main part of Sirmione. It’s a long walk from the main town of Sirmione (we did this from the hotel down to the local supermarket and it was almost an hour).
- Very affordable bar and tourist tax compared to other parts of Italy.
- great value for what you got in this area.

Cons:
- We paid for the no balcony room and got a pretty tired, small room over looking the hotel car park. The shower was a little broken, and the soap dispenser fallen off the wall.
- The bed was very hard and pillows not great, so we didn’t sleep all that well.

The cheaper rooms were not that impressive. But the balcony rooms looked much better. Odd old framed paintings and vintage furnishings made it feel like a vintage shop . No iron , kettle or fridges available. New towels every day and shower stuff. Inthink there are better places in the area for the money.

A great little secret in the old city. Up at the top of the peninsula away from the hustle and bustle but only a few minutes walk down to the sites, restaurants and fun. Not all taxis will take you through the narrow crowded fort streets up to this hotel ... so be prepared to get dropped at the fort entrance and walk a km or so. But a great walk. This trip and hotel was a great surprise.

The property is in the old town and not easy driving around with the car. There were restrictions getting into the old town on the weekend which the hotel did not advise us ahead. We had water problem one day and was not able to shower. Not one word from the staff to offer their apologies for the inconvenience. The girl (Sara) at the reception was not very friendly. Would not recommend

In view of the low price of this hotel, it’s actually good value for money. My room was definitely not the most impressive by any means, and even though the AC was loud and rickety; that said, the room was spacious, perfectly clean and functional.

No doubt, the one saving grace of this hotel Is the breakfast, so be sure to include it in your plans. It was extremely well done, from the very enthusiastic and kind greeting, To the beautiful way they have lemon and flower infused in the table drinking water, to the abundance and variety of the breakfast itself which they have you choose from the menu before you even get to the restaurant.

The reception staff were pleasant and kind but it was impossible to get through to them by phone when I needed to call from a far; that would be one drawback, I have to say.

Regarding the location, it is just off the beaten track enough so that you are liberated from the crowds of Sirmione - but just a hop skip and a jump from pretty much everything.

If you’re looking for a relatively low priced hotel that is well located, this wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Hotellet er lite og koselig med en svært hyggelig betjening. Beliggenheten er perfekt, da det er en kort spasertur inn til gamlebyen, men veldig rolig. Det er også kort veg til hotellets private brygge med solsenger. Frokosten er fantastisk!

L'hôte est au bout de la presqu'île, en pleine zone limitée. L'accès y est autorisé pour les hôtels, il faut traverser les zones piétonnes et très touristiques.
Vous êtes ensuite piéton, ce qui est très agréable à Sirmione !
L'hôtel est donc idéalement placé.

Koselig familie drevet hotell i fin gangavstand til sentrum. Hyggelig personale og koselig atmosfære. Frokosten var god, den ble servert ved bordet etter hva vi ønsket å spise ut fra en liste. Er du glad i harde madrasser i senga er dette hotellet for deg.

Tolle Lage, freundliches Personal, gemütliche Zimmer, sehr leckeres und frisch zubereitetes Frühstück. Der Steg der zum Hotel gehört ist ein super Platz um direkt am See zu entspannen oder den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Leider konnten wir den Pool nicht nutzen, da er nicht beheizt ist und im April die Temperaturen noch nicht ausreichen. Im Sommer bestimmt richtig toll....

Melhor localização impossivel. Tudo bom aqui: equipe prestativa, café da manhã bacana. Estacionamento fica a uns 200 metros, mas não se usa carro aqui. Então, é levar no primeiro dia e bucar no ultimo. Recomendo.

Sehr freundliches Personal, liebevoll zubereitetes, tolles Frühstück, trotz der Nähe zum Trubel der Altstadt ruhige Lage. Saubere und auch schöne, wenn auch ältere Zimmer. Ein Abenteuer, zum Hotel durch die Altstadt zu gelangen, aber auch irgendwie witzig und etwas besonderes. Wir werden in jedem Fall dieses Hotel wieder buchen, wenn wir zum Garda See fahren.

Auf Ansprache wurde das Zimmer umgehend gereinigt.
