Castello di Monterado, historic residence in the medieval village of Monterado (AN), offers accommodation for comfortable and relaxing holidays in the Marche. The Prince de Beauharnais, Napoleon's nephew, spent here his honeymoon and he commissioned wonderful frescoes, still visible in the halls and in the suites.

Suites and Superior rooms are equipped with elegant furniture, LCD TV, safe, mini-bar, private stylish bathroom. The apartments, furnished in a contemporary style, have a fully equipped kitchen and they are located in a renovated historic building, just 30 meters from the castle.

First Class accommodation in stunning surroundings

Incredible experience to stay in such an old but yet well maintained building. Our room was huge and well thought out with amazing views. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. Restaurant food was delicious and breakfast top class.

Fabulous

We received a really warm welcome and were shown around the property on the way to the room. So much character but the rooms were in excellent condition. Parking on site...but if you are on motorbikes be aware the parking is gravelled and on a hill, but we didn't really find it too much of a problem.

Authentic Gem in Le Marche!

What a dream it was staying at Castello di Monterado! The grounds are stunning, Orlando and Keira are the most welcoming hosts and the staff is the most helpful, friendliest you can find anywhere! We stayed for 5 nights in Apartment B with our two children and we found the charming apartment to be very comfortable with plenty of space for all of us. My parents were traveling with us and stayed at in the castle which they also enjoyed immensely. The breakfast was beautiful arranged and delicious. The dinner was so superb we ended up eating there almost every evening. Lucia at the front desk was beyond amazing- she arranged everything from a truffle tour to the most fabulous driver to take us to our next location in Tuscany. We really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay and will dream of returning again soon!

Staying at Castello di Monterado was an absolutely beautiful experience. The suite we stayed in was incredible, and the hosts are extraordinary. To stay in the castle was a great experience. The property is beautiful with the manicured gardens and view of the countryside as well as the Adriatic Sea. Breakfast was wonderful as well. Could not have had a better three-night stay while exploring. Incredible history with this property and extremely well maintained.

A magical stay!

Castello Di Monterado is a magical place! So wonderful to stay in such a majestic castle with so much history. Rooms have been redone and are sleek, modern, extremely comfortable, but yet have retained the charm and character of the castle. Orlando and Kira couldn't have been more wonderful hosts. Their suggestions for daily itineraries and delicious restaurants were perfect. Breakfast was delicious and in a beautiful setting. The pool area is gorgeous!
My hope is to be able to visit again. We will tell everyone we know to plan a visit here!

Paradise in the Marche

For many years I have travelled through Monterado to visit the cemetery there but had no idea about the Castello. What a find! Everything about our stay was excellent: the welcome, the accommodation (we stayed in a beautiful suite with balcony), the breakfast, the facilities, and the 360 degree views of the surrounding area are breathtaking. Spectacular!

A memorable place

Castello monterado was our first stop on this trip to Italy and I am so glad I chose it. It is a beautiful hotel, maintained beautifully and was such a special experience for our family. The rooms are beautiful and you literally feel immersed in history. Orlando and kiara were so friendly and helpful, I actually didn't want to leave! Would highly recommend if you enjoy being slightly off the beaten track.

Das Hotel selbst ist wunderschön, das Frühstück ausserordentlich vielfältig und lecker, sehr guter Service, der Garten mit Pool schön angelegt. Wir würden wieder kommen aber das nächste Mal im Hotel selbst übernachten.

Accueil et service haut de gamme dans un cadre aussi reposant qu’enchanteur, hors du temps. A hidden gem

We were driving around the vineyards having no reservation for the night. Searched a bit, looking for something not too touristic and preferably with a pool.
Couldn’t have stumbled over anything better than the Castello.
A warm welcome by what turned out to be the current owner and mastermind behind the tasteful refurbishment. We got a room in the recently expanded part with direct access to the garden and pool area.
We opted for dinner in the bar in the evening, a good choice and well presented local wines accompanied the meal.
The breakfast the morning after, on the sunny roof terrace overlooking the landscape was absolutely delicious. Very well composed with a large range of alternatives. The freshly squeezed orange juice (some of the first oranges of the season) was a delight.
We were allowed to stay by the pool throughout the day also after check out and it was absolutely no problem to keep towels and have a shower in the dressing rooms before leaving.
A historic gem with a lot of atmosphere. Tastefully refurbished and with all modern comfort you need. Don’t leave Marche without a visit.

Relax nel castello

Avevamo già soggiornato nelle camere del castello e avevamo apprezzato la bellezza, lo charme, la vista e l atmosfera oltre che i servizi. È stato tutto confermato anche questa volta nell appartamento proprio fuori dalle mura del castello. Letto comodo, zona cucina basic ma bagno veramente piccolo e pulizia della doccia da migliorare. Alcune piccole mancanze come non trovare nemmeno una bottiglia d acqua disponibile. Colazione ottima. Piscina nel parco molto piacevole Un esperienza da provare!

Wonderful castle in stunning countryside

Just a short drive from the pretty coastal town of Senagalia and half an hour from the port of Ancona this amazing hotel sits on the top of a hill with views of stunning scenery in every direction. We stayed twice for one night each time because we wanted to break the long journey to Greece for our dog (just outside the property through a gate directly from the grounds there are shady woods, perfect for walking her). Castello di Monterado is a real family business, the owners Orlando and Kira are friendly, helpful and very hands-on, always around for questions or advice and happy to help. Breakfast is great but the ROOMS, especially the suites, have to be seen to be believed. Our first stay was in Suite Athena, complete with a mosaic floor dating back to the time of Napoleon. Our second stay was in Suite Amorini, with incredible frescoes on the walls and paintings of Romelus and Remus on the ceilings. Staying in this hotel is how I imagine it would be to stay in a private stately home. Thank you Kira and Orlando for sharing and preserving your family’s legacy with your lucky guests.
