First room we got had an awful odor. As a pregnant woman I couldn’t handle it so my husband went to talk to the front desk and they were more than accommodating. They switched us rooms right away and upgraded us. GREAT STAFF!

Staff spoke English and assisted us in getting our luggage when we had it shipped over from another hotel. They also had storage lockers for guest who are staying at the hotel to use. Hotel is just across from the Universal Studio so after a long day at the park it was nice not having to travel far to hotel. The hotel breakfast buffet was great with many great selections. The twin room was great and had a great view overlooking the studio park

A great place to stay for families with kids of all ages, especially if visiting USJ next door for multiple days.
The nearest train station is right across the road and the ferry to Tembokan Ferris Wheel and Osaka Aquarium area leaves from directly in front of the hotel, as well as another tour.
Breakfast was always fresh and plentiful, staff absolutely lovely and everything in our room was clean and comfortable.
Amenities are excellent also, eco friendly where possible.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Universal Port! This wasn’t our first visit, and it definitely won’t be our last. The hotel is consistently clean, comfortable, and welcoming, with friendly staff who make everything easy. The rooms are spacious and perfect for families, and the location is great—right on the doorstep of Universal Studios Japan and Universal City.

Every stay here feels smooth and stress-free. We’ve stayed before and will happily stay again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting USJ or the Osaka Bay area!

Room bed and bathroom were big and comfortable, more like a U.S. hotel. Handy for USJ which is why we stayed (just 2 nights). Staff were friendly. Housekeeping were very good. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the laundry because the driers don’t work properly. They don’t get hot and everyone was having problems drying clothes. They are 200 yen for 30 mins and I did it 4 times before giving up and hanging in the room to finish. Would stay again but wouldn’t use the Laundry :).

The food was great they even had cream filled croissants and soft serve ice-cream, lots of statues of minions from Despicable Me all dressed up for whatever holiday came next. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the train station and USJ. The Citywalk nearby also provides shopping, food and convenience stores. The room is clean but no plastic bottled water, you will have to fill up your own jar at the water dispenser at the end of the corridor. Room is spacious with a separate bathroom and toilet. However the mattresses are a tad hard. Breakfast buffet was kinda lacking for the price (around 3k+ yen). Overall, a pleasant experience.

Only thing was they didn’t have bigger van taxis they could call for pickup, but I was able to get an uber van and had to message the driver assigned separately to come to the hotel since this location wasn’t on the list.

We had a great 3-days stay at the Universal Port hotel. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to Universal Studios and enjoyed every moment there. This was by far our worst stay in our 8 days of travels in Japan. The room we stayed in should be non smoking but our bed sheets had a faint smell of smoke. We had the room cleaned and came back to an even stronger smoke odor than before. The staff did get us a new room, though we still wondered how the smoke smell could get worse with housekeeping.

Overall the rooms and carpets are dated and dirty with a faint moldy odor - even in the room we changed to.
