The beds were very uncomfortable. We also booked a triple room which was supposed to have a double and single bed, but instead we got a very old style pull out couch bed with a paper thin mattress. The staff did bring in a new mattress for the couch bed, but it still wasn’t what was described or what the pictures of the room had advertised.

All the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful.
We arrived early and asked if we could leave our bags only to be told our room was ready for us to check-in.
Spacious shower and plenty of clean towels.
A decent selection for breakfast.

GREAT location! Lovely staff. Beautiful two rooms we had on the upper floor. Clean, neat, & safe. They let up linger in an AC back room our last day while we waited for our ferry out - thank you Hotel Due Colonne!

One problem: I am fat. Okay - that's not the problem (I can live with being fat). But I am fat and could not get in the shower stall without scraping my sunburnt (a different problem) belly painfully across the shower doors. I actually had to use the nice, bathtub-style shower in my friends' room to shower. (I fit there, not problem). SO, good people at Hotel Due Colonne - maybe figure out a way to put your fat clients in rooms with bathtub-based showers, or change the mini-showers you currently have to have more flexible doorframes. If free boats can make showers for people like me, so can you!

Other than that, I'd return gladly. (I'd just make sure I got a bathtub shower and not a fat-squeezer shower.)

A central location near the restaurant area

The hotel is located directly behind the Via Roma, the arcaded street adjacent to the harbour area, and is therefore in a good position for exploring all areas of the city. The bus and train stations are just a 5 minute walk away and the Marina area is overflowing with restaurants, cafes and wine bars.
Check in at reception was fast and the staff were always friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good with a wide variety of choice including lots of fresh fruit, pastries and cakes. I must eat gluten free and the hotel offers a large basket full of gluten free products.
Our room was slightly small and overlooked a side alley but with the windows closed there was no traffic noise. We had requested a quiet room.
I was amazed that just 20 minutes from disembarking the plane, and using a taxi, we were at the hotel’s reception.

Brilliant location behind Via Roma

The hotel is a very elegant old building, carefully modernised inside. We had double room on the 3rd floor. Large bed, nice bathroom (shower only but good one). Very effective air con and soundproofing were present. Only drawback was no English TV Channel. Wi-Fi was good enough to stream Netflix so we did not miss it much.

A continental breakfast is served and although simple it was more than adequate.

The staff were very professional, in particular Anna helped us to independently visit Sa Festa a fabulous traditional Sardinian Evening that was about 20km away and finished very late.

Management team is good here

The Marina district restaurants, enough for 7 days high quality eating are minutes away. The beach is served by 4 buses and we never waited longer than 4 minutes in a week. It’s a beach and city holiday if you want it.

Some great sightseeing and wonderful architecture (you will see some graphity here, but it’s common anywhere in Italy.

Found it already and tempted. Be tempted and stay here

The hot water wasn’t working for 2 days , location is very central, and the breakfast was good with pretty good verity .
They wouldn’t give me an iron to use , and wanted 10€ per dress for them to iron it. I was shocked. !!

Nice hotel, good location reasonable price

I stayed for 4 nights in June. It was quite hot so glad the room had good air conditioning. Room was good size, clean, had everything I needed including a safe. Wifi was good - some other reviews complained but I was on the 3rd floor and had no problems. Decent breakfast. Location had tons of restaurants nearby and 5 minute walk from train station.

My room had no comfortable chair - difficulties in getting English programmes on complicated TV system. and I had to change rooms (where there were the same problems) in order to get wifi. Lighting was poor.
Breakfast buffet was the same over five days, with a choice of hard boiled eggs (very few on offer) or hot dog style sausages ( very few on offer) as the only hot choices. There is no central lounge, so no hope of a comfortable seat in the entire hotel
It is, however, very conveniently situated, and the staff (God Bless Them) do really try and help.
I wouldn't go back.

The Hotel Due Colonne is in a great position,in Cagliari close to most things, but it is quite noise with traffic noise and revellers at night.
Also having to phone to reception to have the air-conditioning turned on and off was a real pain.

Spent first two weeks in Pula and one week in Cagliari (the week in the city was too long for us) Saw and did what we could in that week. Prices in EU were not too bad. Hubby and I got hair cut for 42 EU for both (I pay that much for myself) Coffee and beer and meals (lots of sea food) were reasonably priced.

Good value and a good location

The room was as described - minimalist. For us it needed more drawer storage. Draws in the bedside cabinets would have been enough. The staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. The situation of the hotel on the main route to the hospital meant that several times at night we were woken by ambulance and police sirens. Even with empty streets the police motorcyclists escorted ambulances, their sirens adding to the noise.
Breakfast was a little hit and miss. It was adequate. The wifi did not work in our fourth floor room and was very slow even on the reception floor.
Overall it was good value for money

Great base to explore Cagliari

I spent a lovely week at Hotel Due Colonne and found it a great base from which to explore Cagliari and the surrounding area. The hotel is just a stone's throw from the bus and train stations, making it very convenient if arriving from the airport on the bus or taking trips by public transport (I took the bus to Poetto Beach and the train to Oristano and Iglesias). Cagliari itself is a very walkable city, especially with the lifts up to Castello, and I was easily able to access the various sights from the hotel's central location. Via Sardegna, where the hotel is located, has many excellent restaurants, so dining options are literally on your doorstep. The breakfast in the hotel was a good spread and the coffee was especially appreciated! All the staff I interacted with were genial and well-mannered. I had no 'issues' that needed dealing with, but I witnessed prompt help and advice being given to others. My room was spacious and comfortable and was cleaned to a high level each day. My room was on the third floor and had a nice view of the city hall. I could hear the occasional ambulance but was not generally disturbed by noise from the street. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend Hotel Due Colonne as an excellent base in Cagliari.

Hotel Due Colonne - Great location

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the bus and train stations and is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Our room was on the small side but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice, as well. Breakfasts were very good and included yogurt, cereals, pastries, etc. My only complaint is the lack of wifi in the room, although the receptionist helped us find a way to get on the internet. The staff was very professional and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

Due Colonne: Great central location & clean hotel

I chose the Due Colonne because of the central location in Cagliari, and the reasonable rates relative to other comparable hotels. I was pleasantly surprised with the staff service, room condition, and cleanliness of the hotel -- very nice with nothing to complain about.
If you are looking for a base to explore Cagliari, or just a decent place to stay during a flight lay-over, I would recommend this place.
There is a big bus station located kitty-corner to the hotel (just behind the plaza and tourist information booth) where the airport bus runs. If you want to save yourself a 15-20 euro cab fare, give it a try to/from the airport. It costs 4 euro and takes about 15 minutes.

Hotel Due Colonne in Caglairi

Hotel is well positioned for a city break, right in the heart of town. We had 2 nights, which is adequate to see the sites. Street outside was pedestrianised in evening as there a many restraunts there.
The reception is on first floor. The lift can go direct from ground to your room level so we had a perceived risk about security but no issues. This must have been managed some how. We had room 416 with two windows with views of the town.
Breakfast was adequate, but not inspiring.

Le personnel est exceptionnel. Toujours disponible et tellement serviable. L'hôtel est idéalement placé un nombre incroyable de restaurants et bars accessible à pied a moins de 2min.
Sortie de l'aéroport un train vous emmène à la gare de Cagliari qui est situé à 3minutes a pied de l'hôtel. Nombreuses destinations dans toute la Sardaigne s'offre à vous avec la gare routière situé également a 3minutes a pied de l'hôtel.
Petite astuce pour vous rendre sur une sublime plage, aller à Poetto. Pour se faire prendre le bus PF qui vous dépose a 1 minute de la plage. Pour prendre le bus l'arrêt est à 1 minute de l'hôtel sur le grand axe face au port ( arrêt via Roma)
Petit bémol sur la communication, personne ne parle français, Italien et anglais uniquement.
Cagliari est sublime, mer et montagne vous en mettent plein les yeux. Des architectures incroyables. Cette ville est vivante et sécuritaire en même temps. Je recommande au épicuriens, couples et familles

ottima posizione e staff gentilissimo

buon hotel in pieno centro cittadino in ottima zona con bei negozi e moltissimi ristoranti; lo staff è molto professionale, gentile e disponibile; colazione a buffet completa dolce e salato di livello medio/buono

De lokatie was super, midden in het centrum, restaurants etc om de hoek. Verder bij het ontbijt, meerder maden in fruit aangetroffen. Dit aangegeven bij personeel, maar hier werd geen actie op ondernomen. Volgende dag ergens anders ontbeten, zeer kwalijk dit.
