The service was very poor - the soap/cream dispenser in the bathroom broke and we had to request them to be changed twice - even when we left they did not replace them. We requested the changes for 2 days.
The restaurant service was not great either - they only tried to sell you the most expensive bottle of wine when we asked for recommendations on a dry white wine. No butter or olive oil was served with stale bread at the beginning of meal service, only after we requested it did they bring the bottles over which were sat on the serving station. The risotto was very underdone and the beef tartare was subpar, the egg yolk was fully cooked.
We were charged €10 for milk to go with our instant coffee in the room. After we questioned the charge, they told us they provide milk in the room to “English guests” and missed our room. After we spoke with the manager and questioned the charge, she told us she would “sort it out”- no surprise, it was still on the bill when we went to check out. Eventually they removed the charge, only after requesting the removal due to their miss on multiple occasions.
Also beware of the drinks at the hotel bar, we were charged €27 for a gin&tonic and Aperol spritz. 20% higher than any other local high end restaurant using the same ingredients and better views and much nicer service.

Exceptional property, beautiful rooms cleaned twice daily. Outstanding staff. Breakfast and the Blu Restaurant were both excellent (we ate at Blu twice both meals and service superb). Beach lovely, we didnt have to pay for chairs as waived after September 19 till end of season. My only criticism is at this level of hotel service complimentary water is appropriate, especially as not recommended to drink the tap water in Golfo Aranci, this is what I would expect and have received from properties of similar calibre.

The photos of the hotel look much better than reality. We knew the beach was small, but from the photos and the description it sounded like the beach was private. The reality is that only a very small part of this already small beach was private to the hotel. About 90% of it is public and very crowded. In addition to that, the hotel charges 40 euros a day for a beach umbrella and 60 euros if you want to be in the front row.
The location is not great either. It is about 45 minutes drive from Costa smeralda.
The staff was very nice though and the rooms were cleaned twice a day, which was nice.
Overall it was ok, but would not stay there again.

My wife and I had a week’s stay at the hotel. We booked a deluxe room but on arrival were upgraded to a suite which had a fantastic corner balcony with views over the sea and towards the port. This meant we could sit either in the sun or shade during the day as required. Plus it also had a retractable awning as well which was an added bonus. The hotel is right on the beach plus has a nice pool with plenty of pool side sun loungers. The room although not particularly large was very comfortable with a nice bathroom and shower. We did not eat in the restaurants other than breakfast which ended at 10.30 am each day which had a good choice of hot and cold foods. All the hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful and made our stay a very pleasant one. The location is good with the beach one side with lovely beautiful clear waters and white sand and it is also about 10-15 minutes walk into town where there are a few bars and lots of cafe/restaurants. The only negatives were our TV hardly worked (not that we were too bothered about that) and the WiFi tended to drop in and out. Plus from the 7th June onwards you have to pay for the hotel’s beach sunbeds up to €60 per day! I regularly stay in hotels all around the world and have never had to pay my own hotel for this before? Overall though a very enjoyable stay and if returning to Porto Aranci I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Beautiful hotel on the water. We had a room with a nice view of the bay from our small balcony. The room was small but we made it work. The staff was attentive. Breakfast was so perfect with so many beautiful options. It get crowded but they do a great job. The bar always had some one that could make you a beverage any time you walked by. We ate dinner there only once it was good. But the variety on the menu did not suit our tastes so we dinned out the other nights.

The view is spectacular. The pool area is beautiful but the pool is not heated. The breakfast is very good. We had a deluxe room with a large terrace and glass railings to admire the beautiful view. Loved the walk to lungomare which had some lovely restaurants and shops.I do feel, however, that the lobby could be improved upon.

Hotel is overpriced!! Small rooms, small pool, pictures are manipulated to be nice! Beach is public with the partiion for hotel use. Beach is for childern 40 cm deep. Normal high of watter is 200 m away!! And payment of 40 € asking for beach chair for what? Staff is not speaking english at all! No safe in the room!!! Handling of towels in small pool terible by lasy guy! Avoid this 4 stars hotel, it is hardly 3 stars, and price for 5 stars!!!

Nice resort on a gorgeous beach (really nice) but my expectations on the amenities of the place are below what I would consider high end stay. The place is refreshed and clean etc but basic things like an in room coffee machine, water bottles, good quality shampoo and soap, spa etc are not available or low quality at best. It needs a manager with a refined price to claim the rates I ended up paying

The beach area is perfect for kids and adults, beautiful views! Great shower, and toiletries, fluffy towels! Love this place and can’t wait to go back!

My Wife and I were celebrating our 20-yr anniversary and booked a week at the tail end of our Italy trip to wind down. The staff and hotel are amazing. We booked an ocean view room which had a patio over looking Golfo Aranci, the most amazing view. Whilst on the private beach, drink and food service was fantastic. Although there are some great sights, restaurants and shopping within walking distance, we rented a small car via the hotel and took fantastic day trips to other parts of Sardinia.

Let us check in early, and prior to our room being ready gave us towels for us to use the pool and all their facilities as we waited. Upon checking in to our room our bags were brought up to our room already and prosecco waiting on ice. These are small details but really set the hotel apart form others- great 5 star service.
(Claudia at recpetion was extremly attentive, nice and overly accommodating for the duration of our stay- 5/5 service from her.)

This was a one night and following day stay and we loved it!! It had everything, helpful smiling staff, access to a beautiful beach with turquoise water (shallow) and a fabulous swimming pool. We took the half board option and the food was delicious. The price was good value and it was quite close (30mins) from the airport. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Hi overall experience was amazing , however upon arrival the front desk employee just upgrade our friends room who booked it directly from the hotel and did not even offer us any upgrade , maybe because we booked through Expedia , not sure. I felt it was not fair , he could do better job , not in front of us. cleanest was grate , food grate , services good. Only i was curious that towels looks clean but gray , maybe its some sort of organic wash .

This was a win win for us.
This was a hotel for us to recharge after just getting married on the Amalfi coast and it didn't disappoint. We were upgraded to a room/suite with a private pool on the roof and honestly if I had known how amazing it would be I wouldn't have gambled on the upgrade. If your going to be out all day of course you have to balance the cost but if your just relaxing then this was the best room we could have wished for. The staff and cleaning staff were very courteous which always helps and really a win for us. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance as well as shops to stock up the mini bar.

Nice hotel that sits beautifully on the beach. Stunning view of the Gulf of Aranci. Friendly and speedy front desk service. Beautiful lobby and bar area. We had booked a “Classic Quadruple Room” for the four of us and received a tiny room on the 2nd floor facing the street, stuffed with a queen-size and a bunk bed. There was literally no room left to put and open a suitcase (other than on the bed). It didn’t look like a room designed for 4 people but rather than a standard room in which they managed to cram a bunk bed. The bunk bed had a broken rail so had to put the upper mattress on the floor to be on the safe side. We didn’t complain at the front desk but I think that as a guest, you shouldn’t have to explain that family doesn’t like a totally cramped room. And when they prepare a room like that with little care, it tells you a lot about the attitude of the hotel operator towards guests and customers. At least the room was clean and quiet. On the hotel premise, there is a nice saltwater pool facing the seaside. The pool is however unheated and quite cold at this time of the year. You can have bar service at the pool but you need to call the bartender. The pool must not be used during pm times per hotel policy which is really absurd. WiFi is spotty, slow and basically useless. Breakfast buffet was ok but not great, waiters don’t care to collect empty plates on the table.

Very lovely area of the island, we went off-season,but still a fab place to have a relaxing break. The hotel is superb, staff very welcoming, can't do enough for you, work very hard and attend to your every need. A particular thank you to the member of staff who cleaned and tidied our room (220) every day and kindly took all our beach stuff in off the balcony to stop it getting wet when it rained! The breakfast was amazing, and all the staff serving us were fantastic even though they were rushed off their feet!

Nice staff and great location however some of the facilities need to be updated to be considered a good four star e.g. pool umbrellas and sun beds dirty/broken. Room was clean and had a lovely view but not always turned down. Drinks and lunches were a little over priced however all prices were high in the area. I think if the hotel were to have a general overhaul the room prices would be justified. I would recommend this above other hotels for the area but don’t expect luxury.

One of the coziest hotels I have stayed at (I have visited 118 countries and lived in 14 - I live in hotels). Fantastic views esp from Restaurant Blu. lovely staff, great food - both the breakfast buffet and the a la carte. Nice beach - does not feel \"touristy\" - or they are Italian tourists - so it is much more \"authentic\". The hotel beach itself is NOT nice - and they charge (ridiculous after the price one has already paid) just walk a few more meters and the public beach is lovely. Good base to drive around Sardegna. PARKING is a nightmare - be prepared.

Booked a 2 night break - beautiful hotel and grounds! Selling point was the private beach and attentive staff. Would make it a 5* rating but we had issues with AC not working, no tea/coffee making facilities and restaurant overpriced! Waiters did not advise on the appropriate dishes for dinner and was rather disappointing. We had a long wait which made the experience even worse as we were served entree portions of cold meat. They did however cater for our 2 small children and made them a specific meal. Breakfast was more continental (varied and good choice) but hot dishes were limited - do not expect British style breakfast. The prosecco breakfast and Italian coffee were lovely.

The hotel was fabulous the staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble. From the bubbly with breakfast to the private beach and glorious views it was a perfect place with lots of excellent local restaurants nearby if you wanted to try different Sardinian delicacies.

Enjoyed a very relaxing week here. Lovely & peaceful (mid September) very pleased with the hotel & staff all of a very high standard including the Michelin restaurant The only moan we would have is the very high cost of a taxi to & from the hotel (50 euros one way) less than 30mins traveling time & the charges for sunbeds & parasols (30 euros per day!!) we were lucky as the charges stop on the 8th September. If you go before then, we'd advise you just walk past the hotels private beach & use the public beach ( rope separating the 2) got to be cheaper to buy your own paracetamol & a couple of cheap chairs ( could even try to sell them on to newly arrived guests? overall a superb hotel & highly recommend it

All in all very good.staff is great and very helpful. Breakfast is delicious, Blu restaurant is very good. Beach and water are clean and beautiful. You can even get tennis lessons.there are several things that I like to mention just for consideration. Golfo Aranci is very nice and friendly place, but Porto Rotondo is more luscious (don't know about beaches). Hotel is great for kids because the sea at the gulf is very shallow, you have to walk about 100m before you can swim.

Stayed at the Gabbiano Azurro a week ago. Really nice hotel in a lovely location. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all areas were spotlessly clean. Really nice buffet style breakfast with a choice of hot options, cereals, fruit pastries etc. Served on a covered terrace overlooking beach and lagoon like cove.

Unfortunately we were not aware that the hotel were in the process of adding rooms . Every morning we had a wake up call by the building work above us starting before 8am. Lying by the pool was not relaxing when we had to listen to the building work. Had the hotel advised that this was going to be in progress we would have probably gone elsewhere. On a positive note the main hotel was nice and staff in the hotel excellent. Location and vista beautiful. However I do think it was overpriced.

We have been upgraded for the first nights upon our arrival in a very busy season. When we wanted to extend our stay, hotel found a room but it was in poor condition. We returned to the hotel after a couple of days and could get a cheap room. Very uncomplicated. Family hotel. Very nice beach. Good restaurant but with limited a la cart offering. Wi-fi is for free but poor coverage. You pay for beach space 30 EUR a day. If you switch off aircon, the room smells after cigarettes for some reason. Very helpful staff at the reception. Gabbiano Azzurro is a lovely hotel managed by a stable and friendly staff. All facilities are kept very clean at all times and food options are amazingly good, most in line with the excellent offering the main village offers.
Although there are not organised events for children this is the perfect spot to have quality family time and enjoy their private beach.

We received a warm welcome at reception when we checked in and all the staff were friendly and helpful thereafter. We had a very enjoyable stay and liked the fact that the hotel was close to the town and restaurants as well as being right on the coast with lovely views. Breakfast was very good and on the occasions we ate in their a la carte restaurant found it to be excellent. We had a very peaceful week and would certainly go there again.

My husband and I visited Sardegna on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we visited the island during a tropical storm, so all of our excursions were cancelled. Our only option was to stay inside the hotel, which was very nice and welcoming. The hotel lobby is gorgeous and is very homey. Because our wine tour and dolphin watching excursions were cancelled, we asked the hotel if we could change our reservation to leave the island early and enjoy the rest of our honeymoon on the main land. The Marketing head, Tullio Da Tome, was very friendly and accommodating to our request. His kindness made our otherwise stormy experience in Sardegna a very happy one indeed.

Great customer service in a beautiful location
Situated in a quiet street right on the beach front this hotel is ideal for a relaxing get away with wonderful customer service. The interiors use high quality materials to provide an airy and traditional, yet modern atmosphere. Our room (a comfort sea view) was spacious with a good size balcony overlooking the pool and sea. The communal areas are well organised with plenty of tables, chairs and sun loungers. Even at the busiest times there was plenty of choice and it never felt crowded. The food is a very good standard with a wide selection for the breakfast buffet and a range of choices for lunch and dinner. An evening dinner in the restaurant overlooking the sunset over the sea is definitely a must. The swimming pool is well sized with a shallower area for children which also has a jacuzzi feature. The hotel has direct access to an adjacent beach which has a large number of loungers which can be hired out. There is also a public beach next to this section with a cafe and pedalos. The sea for the entire stretch is very shallow, calm and warm. The beach can become busy between 10am-4pm but in the morning and evening is very pleasant to stroll along. Walking in the other direction there are more beaches, cafes and restaurants. There is a local town a few streets away from the hotel with a selection of eateries, shops, a pharmacy and medical centre. The hotel also provides evening entertainment with live music. A great stay!

Hotel is right on the beach, Towels, chairs, and umbrellas are provided. Food was delicious anywhere on premises. Service, second to none. Staff was absolutely fabulous. Grounds/rooms kept impeccably clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of selections.

Nice hotel with great location
This was our first stay in Golfo Aranci, having stayed on previous occasions in Baia Sardinia, and we were suitably impressed. The hotel is ideally situated on the edge of a lovely sandy bay which is shallow for about 150 metres and therefore ideal for non swimmers and children.
The town has a friendly feel and there were a variety of activities going on during our stay, ranging from a nightly street market to live bands and a firework display.
There are a variety of restaurants to suit all pockets. Our favourite was Lo Scorfano Allegro which is about a 5 min walk from the hotel and right on the beach. Another good one is the Terza Spiaggia which is located on the same bay as the hotel and during the day is the lunch/snack bar but transforms itself into a fine dining venue in the evening! La Spigola was also very nice, located about 200 metres from Lo Scorfano.

Lovely hotel given the price in compared to neighbouring hotels. Really good breakfast and great views of the bay. The sea is wonderful and very suitable for families - warm, still and shallow. The pool side is also very nice and peaceful with a smaller pool, again great for kids.
Resturant Blu is a little on the pricey side. There are a few resturants in the town which are the same standard and significantly cheaper. The resturant is also not suitable for a casule evening, as men are required to wear trousers (not ideal in 30+ degrees heat).

Want to relax? Well I would totally recommend Sardinia and this hotel. I see some of the reviews, this is not your brand spanking new hotels you see in say Dubai, it is a quiet, chilled and relaxed with amazing turquoise blue sea views, great food and great wine.

Clean, good location, great staff
I spent 5 nights at the hotel with my husband and we had a great time. As we visited in May, the hotel was pretty empty so some days we had the pool or beach practically to ourselves. Breakfast was included in our rate, and it was wonderful. Lots of options, and even complimentary champagne to make mimosas. The pool was nice but we were unable to swim in it because the water was so cold - it would be great if they could heat the pool. I agree with other reviews that having a sea view room is worth the additional cost. We would sit on our balcony in the afternoons and have wine and the views were beautiful. The hotel itself was extremely clean which we really liked. I'd also like to say how accommodating the hotel was. On our day of check-out, we did not need to leave for the airport until around 4pm. The hotel gave us another room to use for the day so we could shower and keep our bags in there until we left. The hotel is also in a nice area - 30 min drive to the airport in Olbia, less than an hour drive to Porto Cervo, and there are several good restaurants in the town. In general, we had a great time at the hotel and would stay there again.

This was a beautiful hotel, situated right on the beach. The hotel was well-maintained and the staff could not do enough to help you. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever tasted. To top it all off we were upgraded to a room with a sea view upon arrival. My only complaint would be that you had to pay for the wifi!

If you are looking for a posh Sardinian experience, this hotel is not for you. When we arrived, we were greeted with a list of hotel rules to include: pool closes during siesta, our dog is not allowed at breakfast, at the pool or the beach, in the lobby or near the bar, and you have to pay to use the chairs at the beach (and the beach was crowded). The room was far from the \"superior sea view\" we were expecting. The balcony was 4' wide and very small. The finishes in the room were very basic. Anywhere else in Italy, this room would be likely a basic three star room. The breakfast staff was chasing us out of breakfast at 10:08 am and it was the same breakfast everyday, packaged (not fresh) pastries, same fruit, yogurt. Really nothing extraordinary and very disappointing. Bathrobes were frayed and ratty.

Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro is an excellent choice. The staff are always pleased to help and speak very good English. The food was outstanding. A perfect choice for a quiet restful holiday. The hotel was never crowded or noisy (very few children). We encountered no drunks or even heard a swear word the whole week we we there. We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who needs to recharge. The only downside was the hard bed, but we were so pleased with everything else that we did not complain as we caught up with our sleep by the pool and on the private quiet beach pure bliss....

Fantastic hotel placed just on the beach and still a little away from the busy holiday areas. Within walking distance of a village with a lot of good restaurants, a well kept waterfront and many hiking opportunities. A good base for exploring the north and north-west part of the island. Very friendly staff, always ready to go the extra millage to help you. Go for the half board option as food is very good. We had a comfort room with a beautiful sea view. Highly recommended place. We will definitively come back, though the place is a bit on the expensive side.
