Awful, rude and rufused a refund

It's such a shame that awful management and upkeep spoiled what could be a lovely hotel. We checked out early because of all the problems we had and were told we would get a refund. Since then the manager has refused to process a refund and respond to messages. I have never felt so ripped off by a hotel This is in NO way a 4-star hotel, the facilities and condition are barely 3 stars. We booked for a week in September to find that our room, a bungalow suite, was shabby, dirty and needed repair. There was no wifi at all in the room and no mobile reception, so we had to ask especially for a coffee machine which seemed to be a problem. The shower didn't work! What was worse was the staff and management. Staff were having audible arguments over breakfast service, we were made to feel like a nuisance for asking for foods which had run out. The cleaning staff just left bags of dirty laundry from other rooms on our porch. A change of management and a refurb is seriously needed

A stunning place

We had a very enjoyable stay, the hotel is very elegant and the location breathtaking, The (salt water) pool area is particularly nice. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The rooms were spacious and simply decorated, the only downside was that we had a memory foam mattress which we personally don't get on with.

The cliff top setting is magical, and the view from the restaurant and public room absolutely stunning. Our stay was made so much better with the help of the very helpful owners who helped book restaurants and trips to places we would not have otherwise found. The Castro Wine festival was a final bonus that made our stay very memorable. Lovely saltwater pool and the best morning swim down a set of steep steps to the sea. Thank you. It will be very hard not to come again. The hotel is spread out and requires some walking, but h LP is there for baggage and The payoff is a healthy appetite and and privacy with individual views of the sea through or over the pines and Cypresses

Perfect choice - Outstanding hotel

This is a family run hotel (for 40 years!) with a beautiful chic 60s vintage feel, incredible pool, lovely staff, the most beautiful balcony overlooking the sea (room 81). We loved everything about it, especially climbing down the stone steps to swim in the grotta under the hotel every morning. It’s 10 minutes to Castro harbour and a short walk to Castro square. We loved everything about this hotel and the area, and can’t wait to return.

We spent 3 amazing nights in this “small world”. The staff were welcoming & helpful. We love that it’s still run by the family and made us feel like guests in someone’s home. We had great dinner service. It’s a good place to just relax and enjoy the tranquility of the place. You even get to enjoy private access to the sea with some climbing. The Castro marina is a short drive & you can spend a day there with the locals swimming, sun bathing & enjoying local seafood. We stayed in room 81 with our own balcony with sea view.

beautiful authentic hotel

The staff were lovely, we had a large family and they helped even my granddad come up and down the steps. The view was incredible, the pool is refreshing and so quiet. The chapel and amphitheatre give the hotel such charm. the room was cleaned every day and the breakfast was sweet and wonderful, minus a few wasps. Would happily come back again. Thanks for a great stay

Most relaxing holiday to date

I spent a week here with my family and we stayed in one of the family rooms - absolutely amazing! The location of the hotel is beautiful and peaceful, it is up in the cliffs and our particular \"cabin\" was overlooking the sea (it seemed that most of the rooms did). The salt water pool was great and had beautiful sea views, the rooftop restaurant was wonderful and the food was excellent value; we ended up going there several times for dinner, since there was no need to go elsewhere. The staff were all so kind and welcoming, and always willing to go out of their way to help when needed. We borrowed tennis rackets and had a game or two on the tennis courts - despite our questionable skills, the staff who were around cheered for us at the end. All in all, a truly wonderful experience and I am sure we will be back again in the future!

Nice but could be much better after renovation

While the place has an amazing staff and the location is very good, it does need a proper renovation because the rooms and especially the bathroom are very outdated. Otherwise, we had a nice stay.

beautiful view

hotel has a spectacular view, but that's all it has the hotel is old and run down
was expecting a 5 star hotel but found a 3 star hotel, very disappointing
breakfast was very poor and disappointing as well .
we travel a lot and this hotel is by far the worst that we have ever booked.
we had no safe in our room. We had to carry our belongings everywhere, we advised the front desk and they did nothing about it ,the air conditioning was not working properly.it was just fan air, again were advised and did nothing about it . pool chairs were broken and just patched up and not properly repairs or changed .
The outcome of all of this made us leave 1 day earlier.

Italian style villas in Castro,Italy.

Stayed one night and was hoping that the location was near the center and it was not and the hotel itself has beautiful grounds with villa style rooms but they really need some remodeling. Compleleemenarty breakfast was nice and service is good. My 2 complaints are location and condition of the room.

This hotel can be great with a few improvements - although the hotel advertised free wifi, it was non-existent in the room or pool area, only near or in the reception area. There were no additional free power points in the room to recharge mobile devices. Finally, there was little information that was able to be provided about Castro (eg a map of the town) and surrounding towns other than advice from staff, when requested. Notwithstanding these comments, we did enjoy our stay and the area very much.

Hotel in lovely situation

Wonderful situation with a fine large pool with a good deep end. Nice cafe at pool. Basic tennis court. Well maintained hotel with comfortable lounge. Great covered outside restaurant with fantastic view. Very decent food. Bright comfortable bedroom. Lovely staff.

Exceptional stay!

We had an exceptional stay at the Hotel Piccolo Mondo. The view from the property is exquisite. The access to the sea, pool and tennis court are wonderful. The staff are very kind and helpful. I could have stayed for a month! There were a few maintenance items that could be fixed (a light on our terrace for instance) but this did not detract from our visit. I am still dreaming of the gratis breakfast overlooking the sea.

A nice hotel with fantastic views. We liked walking down the many steps to the sea to swim. The swimming pool and terrace were nice too. The hotel is located on a steep slope so would be impossible for those with mobility problems. Only 5 mins away from the caves. Downsides were steps and some quality issues (threadbare towels, bathrooms could be renovated) etc.

Good Hotel with great views

Had a great time . The pool was beautiful and we enjoyed a special night celebrating a Saints Day. Restaurant had magnificent views.
We were not expecting the steps but the staff were helpful with our luggage.

Un hôtel magique

Un séjour juste génial , un endroit magique sur une crique face à la mer . La chambre est très spacieuse un Pt peu ancien mais sa passe . L’airco juste dans la chambre des parents et pas dans la chambre des enfants il cédais 25 degree donc ça allais . Si vous avez peur des bêtes ce n est pas un hôtel pour vous !
Le lit pas hyper confortables dommage et il manque vraiment du café sans les chambres .la piscine très jolie , nous n avons pas bcp profitez de la piscine . En général un bon séjour

Très bel hôtel avec vue fantastique

Très bel établissement avec jolie piscine d'eau de mer et un beau restaurant avec vue fantastique sur la mer . Concernant le couchage le site propose plusieurs petits bungalows éparpillés sur le domaine et il y donc beaucoup de montées et descentes et par conséquence d'escaliers, ceci serait très difficile pour une personne a mobilité réduite. Pas de plage avec sable à moins de 20 kms mais l'hôtel à un accès à la mer dans une petite crique après... une descente avec 185 marches !
Mais globalement très bel hôtel calme avec une très bel situation.

Abbiamo passato 5 giorni in tranquillità...
PRO: location fenomenale bellissima a picco sul mare con piscina. Condizionatore in camera. Tranquillità assoluta. Ottima cena. Personale sempre cortese e dispinibile. Vicinanza a tutti i punti di interesse della zona. 200 mt dalla grotta della zinzulusa. 5 mt dalla grotta azzurra. Pochi minuti di macchina da s. Cesaria Terme e 20 minuti circa da s. Maria di leuca e otranto.
CONTRO: forse 4 stelle sono troppo... Cambio lenzuola dopo 4 gg, menù del ristorante sempre uguale e poco vario, bagno in camera piccolino con un phon senza adattatore, scrivania traballante.
Noi abbiamo scelto una standard magari scegliendo una camera superiore la situazione cambia. Comunque un buon posto dove trascorrere qualche giorno di vacanza.

Attention a certaines chambres!!!

Hotel tres bien situe mais avons eu une chambre affreuse (6)sous les escaliers avec une salle de douche en dehors de la chambre en passant par un sas vitre a la vue de tous
Clim en panne frigo qu il a fallu debranche a cause du bruit .calcaire partout dans la salle d eau .porte de chambre qui fermait mal bref pas une reussite pour une chambre a presque 200 euros

A very run down hotel

What a shame with a Nice location. The entire hotel was very run down and it was very clear no one had Done anything for many years.
The pool area was very dissapointing with the pool not cleaned and the bar looked 30 years old. Rotten Wood and Filthy sunbed linnen.
The rooms are really old and beds in poor standard.

Sospesi tra mare e cielo

Hotel situato a picco sulla scogliera di Castro con una vista mozzafiato! Le camere sono dislocate sulla scogliera seguendo le linee di livello del terreno e sono tutte con terazzino o piccolo \"giardinetto\" privato vista mare. Abbiamo soggiornato in una camera family con due ampie stanze separate (entrambe con letto matrimoniale e armadi), e il bagno in comune situato nel disimpegno di collegamento. Il bagno è grande con doccia chiusa da una tenda. Pulizia complessiva buona. La struttura è dotata di piscina con acqua di mare, dipinta di blu notte, poco invitante e un tantino sporchetta. Da segnalare che in luglio già alle ore 18:00 la zona è in ombra. Una scalinata di 192 scalini collega l'area con il mare sottostante, dove si trova una piccola piattaforma. Favolosa la sala colazione, dove ti sembra di essere sospeso tra mare e cielo. Buona la colazione con dolce, salato e frutta.

Hôtel situé sur une falaise avec belle vue sur la mer. Les chambres sont disséminées dans un parc et dans notre chambre tout était humide.

Un hotel \"diffuso\" su un costone di scogliera nel silenzio della natura. Panorama fantastico.
Spettacolare piscina con acqua di mare (dettaglio non indifferente in una zona che non ha spiagge). Le stanze hanno ingresso indipendente all'aperto, con vista mare.
Il personale è gentile e disponibile e il ristorante molto buono, dai piatti eleganti, giustamente misurati (a differenza delle trattorie della zona, che badano molto alle porzioni tipo badilata di cibo).
Siamo in mezzo alla natura, quindi astenersi persone che hanno paura dei gechi o tremano se una formica si infiltra in camera.
Per spostarsi all'interno della struttura occorre camminare e percorrere scalette anche lunghe: per le persone con difficoltà motorie potrebbe essere un ostacolo importante.

Hotel bello da fuori ma scomodo tutto sali scendi

Hotel bello fuori ma scomodo la colazione era quasi a livello strada le camere due piani sotto da fare con scale o tramite una ripida discesa piscina confortevole ma per il mare sono 190 gradini praticamente non ci vai anche perché non c’è praticamente spiaggia ma solo una piccola piattaforma in cemento nella camera si è intasato il water...../ non vi dico!!!!!!

Albergo molto bello in una posizione eccezionale tra la Grotta di Zinzulusa e la grotta Azzurra. Ambiente curato e personale attento e disponibile. Pranzo in piscina e cena al ristorante panoramico ottimi con prezzi davvero contenuti.
Unico neo la piscina un pò sporca.

La bonne surprise!

Très belle surprise: l'hôtel est bien plus joli que sur son site internet. La mer, la mer, la mer...panorama spectaculaire à quelque endroit que vous soyez dans l'hôtel. Commencer la journée par un petit déjeuner sur la terrasse panoramique, continuer dans la grande piscine d'eau de mer salée et prendre un Sprizz ou un Americano au coucher du soleil...on voulait rester un peu plus longtemps.

Points à améliorer : le restaurant ne nous a pas épatés, le confort du lit de la chambre 52, les volets et la douche de la chambre 19...des détails...et bien-sûr le site internet qui ne met pas en valeur les vues fabuleuses du lieu.

Traumhafte Aussicht mit vielen Stufen

Traumhaft auf den Klippen gelegen, treppenförmig angelegt, deshalb auch viele Stufen (90 von unserem Zimmer zum Restaurant). Sehr schöner, großer Meerwasserpool mit Liegen und Schirmen. Um im Meer zu baden muss man 190 Stufen an den Klippen hinabsteigen und kann nur ins Wasser wenn der Wellengang nicht zu hoch ist (über eine Leiter).
Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit traumhafter Aussicht und reichlich Auswahl. Das Abendessen ebenso, die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Zimmer und Bad ausreichend groß.
Nach Castro sind es nur 2km, dort gibt es einige gute Restaurants.

Un hotel con vistas inmejorables

Es el lugar perfecto si lo que buscas es la tranquilidad, alejado del ruido de la ciudad y en medio de la naturaleza. Casi todas las habitaciones tienen vistas al mar, pero algunas como la nuestra tienen pequeñas terrazas donde puedes disfrutar del color cambiante del agua cristalina de Castro.
Las habitaciones son confortables y muy limpias, y el desayuno variado en frutas y abundante.
Para comer la única opción es hacerlo en el bar de la piscina y el menú es bastante simple lo que obliga a salir a comer en alguno de los buenos restaurantes que se encuentran en la vieja ciudad alta de Castro.

Je ne conseil pas cet hotel

Nous vous avons fait parvenir un email de réclamation concernant cet hôtel en date du 9 Août.
Gros problèmes de climatisation. En plein mois d’août dans le sud de l'Italie, c'est inadmissible pour un hotel 4*. Nous attendons une proposition de la part d' hotel.com.
De plus pas de wifi dans notre suite.

vacanza stupenda, hotel magnifico ,vista mozzafiato ,cibo buonisdimo e che dire dei proprietari che insieme hai loro collaboratori hanno reso tutto questo meraviglioso.sono stati tutti cordiali e molto disponibili.... sopratutto col mio piccolino ....che è una piccola peste.... ci ritorneremo volentieri .
