2nd was very large, no bugs but we got a hot tube!

Upon check in to the room, I was electrocuted when touching an outlet that had a broken prong sticking out of it, thinking it was the light switch (in a darkened room). The key card entry took upwards of 10 times to work and open the door since the kickplate and door plate were loose. Also, my television did not work.. Lastly, the whole place smelled like stale cigarette smoke.

This place is very basic. Needed a place to sleep for a few hours after a late finishing game. The room was “perfumed” as if it was covering something. The room I was given at 2am was ok, but directly over the front desk and the 2 people working were loud, or the walls were then. The curtains would not fully close and the kleig lights of the parking lot created an interrogation effect. I’m resourceful and was able to rig the curtains for my own comfort. The room fridge was gurgling, unplugged it. The bathroom was clean.

Not the worst, I’d use again if in the same situation, but in hindsight sleeping in the car at a truckstop for 2 hours may have been sufficient

I've been staying at this hotel in Mifflintown, PA for 10 yrs. Before COVID it was great. Convenient, clean, friendly and I felt safe. Since 2020, the establishment gets worse every time we stay. This past weekend (8/8-8/13/2025) was our most recent stay. No garbage was picked up around the hotel or parking lot the entirety of our stay. There are currently workers that stay there due to needing to be near their construction site. I have no problem with that. However, they used almost the entire front lot for their construction vehicles leaving other customers needing to walk further to their vehicles. This location has a huge lot in back specifically for commercial vehicles and semi trucks. One man stayed in his running truck while not at work, including sleeping overnight in the truck, the entire time we were there. Another roamed around with open alcohol during the evening. There were a group of men in the back drinking, playing loud music and partying almost every night. It was not a safe feeling atmosphere.
Although this facility is the most convenient for my purposes, I will no longer stay here.

I was moved to another room because the first had an ant infestation.
The second room was need of major and immediate housekeeping. It was unclean and littered with trash.The frig shared the same fate with frozen pancakes and thawed liquid pooling on the bottom.
I shared my concerns with the night desk manager.

The first room that we went into smelled of cigarette smoke and the bedding was not changed. There were crumbs still in the bed. The blanket was just folded over like it had been changed. I was given a new room. It was cleaner, but the beds were not in the best condition. They did not have any warm blankets? We had to go out and buy our own blankets. Every once in a while, you would smell strong cigarette smoking in our room. The person checking us in was very nice and very polite.

I booked this a hotel well in advance, and then got there, and they were not able to honour the booking.
This was bad enough, but nobody at the hotel seemed to care . There was nobody at the front desk when we arrived, so we waited about 20 or so minutes, when the desk clerk showed up, there was no concern, no apology.
Then , after she called the manager, and ignored me to see to others, I got a call from Travelocity to say that there had been a mix up with the booking.
Look, these things happen ...they shouldn't,but they do! I'm quite prepared to accept that. What I found disconcerting was the absolute lack of concern, sorrow or apology by the hotel.
Just an " it sucks to be you" attitude.
Lobby looked dingy....so maybe it was a lucky escape.

This is a decent place to stay if you are looking to save money. It is nothing fancy and could use some upkeep, but it is clean and safe. FYI, large trucks park in the big parking lot behind the motel, and some leave their engines idling for heat, so if you are a light sleeper, this might be an issue. It didn't bother me at all.

It was dirty. The floors needed mopped. It wasn’t even really swept. There was a dirty used band-Aid under the tv stand. The floor tile was coming up in the bathroom. The sink and the tub were both clogged but house keeping did unclog the sink. The beds were really firm/hard and the pillows are on the flat side. Next time I will definitely be willing to pay more for a better hotel room.

This is a cute, clean and comfortable hotel, especially for such a small town. It’s quite new. Beds are extremely comfortable. It has a few quirks though. First of all, this is the only motel I have ever been to where they don’t put blankets on the beds. You have to ask for them. They have a sheet and a coverlet about the weight of a heavy sheet. No problem as they will give you blankets if asked. The showers are terrible and there is no elevator. If you can’t easily carry your luggage up the steps, get a handicap accessible room on the first floor. The shower is so bad that I had to sit on the floor of the tub and rinse using a cup to dump water over me from the faucet. However, for the price and the lack of options, this is the better choice over the only other motel around.

Everything was good! I would only have to complaint about the first night the staff was doing laundry and out room was right next to it… the dryer kept making a loud noise and did not let us sleep from about 1am to 2 .30 am when i went to complaint to the staff in the lobby. Dont rent out that room if need to do laundry or fix it

Had two reservations each room was to be a king room but only one ended up being a king room. The other was a double queen room. Neither room was cleaned after the 1st night. The room that was a king room did not lock the desk clerk even came down and went inside. The room did the deadbolt, and I was able to open the door from the outside and all that was stated was that she wouldn’t let management know. After being gone all day when we returned, neither room could be opened via the outside entrance, and the double queen room could not be opened from the inside entrance and the desk Clerk had to come down and open the door to allow us entry and she stated that the card reader was down. I have stayed in this hotel for several times over the last 10 years and this day was the worst for noise from the trucks coming and going. I don’t know if it was the location of the room or not, but this is the first time I’ve ever heard trucks coming and going all night long. The room that was the king room did not have an extra blanket was not a good stay by far and most likely was my last day ever at this hotel. very disappointed.

Reserved 2 king rooms only one room was king bed (separate reservations). Neither room was cleaned. No extra blanket in one room. I’ve stayed several times over the last 10 years and this stay was worst and will most likely not stay again. I realize it’s at a truck stop but the sound of the trucks coming and going could be heard all night long with has not happened before so could have been location of the room this time. Our room (king) door didn’t lock. Made front desk aware (she even went in room and locked door and I stayed outside and was able to walk right in) and was only told she would make management aware. The desk clerk who checked us in was the only plus to this stay. Neither room door could be opened from the outside entrance when we returned. The room which ended up as a double queen room instead of king couldn’t be opened from inside and had to get desk clerk to open door. Was not a good stay this time by far.

Lost power the first night. I use a CPAP so I was unable to get any sleep. Power restored at 2am I had to be at work at 5am. Hotel denied any compensation. I will never stay here again. The long-haired man at the front desk was very polite and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Everything in the bathroom worked well but the shower hot/cold handle felt loose like it was going to come off. The room was VERY quiet, and I slept well. When I checked in I got a 15% off coupon to use at the IHOP next door, which I did in the morning. I would stay at this EconoLodge again.
