What a terrible stay! The worst ever!

If there is 0 star, I will give it a 0! We had a terrible stay at this hotel! Both rooms we booked were so smelly and noisy that it was almost impossible to breathe or sleep. We requested to change rooms, but the receptionist said the hotel was fully booked. However, the next morning when we decided to check out early (as we had booked two nights), the staff suddenly told us, “Why didn't you change rooms for the second night?” Obviously, they lied to us from the beginning.
We then requested a refund for the 2nd night only which we would not be able to stay for another torture, but they refused, saying it was a non-refundable booking. However, this clause only applies when guests cancel for personal reasons, not when the room conditions are so terrible that it’s simply unfit for anyone to stay.
We are extremely angry and disappointed by this experience. The way the staff handled the situation was completely unacceptable, and I hope this feedback warns other travelers to think twice before booking this hotel. Personally, I will never stay at this property—or any hotel from this chain—again！！！Never!!!

My bed was clean however the bathroom could do with a thorough clean. The shower tray wasn’t clean, the toilet, bathroom floor and walls all showed lack of proper cleaning attention. The lifts were dirty. The carpets in the corridors from the lift all the way to my room looked like they had not been vacuumed cleaned in a while. There was crumbs and stains in several places.

Overall a pleasant stay.

Nice hotel, lovely staff. I was charged again on arrival but it was quickly amended and reimbursed once I realised I had paid through Hotel.com.
Room was spacious and clean, shower was great. Downside was that the aircon was not working and the room was too hot, being over the garage downstairs it was too noisy with the window open, so baked in the room all night. No drink making facilities in the rooms but there is a very pleasant bar and restaurant downstairs.

DO NOT STAY HERE. 31 degrees outside hotter inside with no air conditioning even though they advertised they had it.
Staff changed our room once but the whole system was shut down. Staff said they would talk to the manager about it but nothing changed. Three days as hot as hell. Also our TV didnt work. Staff said they would tell the manager. Nothing was done. We had no TV for 3 days. Never going to an Ibis again.

Air conditioning in the rooms was not working properly when we were there and it was hot. Lobby is a wonderful place to hang out and read, have a coffee, etc.

We stayed there 15 nights and enjoyed it. It is not a pretentious hotel but it lives up to it's 3 star standard. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff eager to please and quite friendly. Bar and eatery open 24 hours. Minimalist and nice decor. House keeping every day and calm and sympathetic atmosphere. We will be back.

Two single beds pushed together is not a double!

'Double room' consisted of two single beds pushed together - and not even held together with brackets or clamps - so I kept falling into the gap which opened up in the middle. Invest in real double beds or at least some brackets / clamps!!! Other than an uncomfortable bed, the hotel is fine!

Terrible check in (stood waiting for ages and zero welcome). Bar was overrun with people, stank of weed. Drunks barging ahead of us when ordering food. Parking was €9. Breakfast mediocre. Room small. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up. Air con was ineffective. Food prices were high for the quality (€19 for a cheeseburger and fries). Definitely won't stay again.

The property in general was fine, pleasant desk staff.
There was a smell as if gases from the drains, but wasn’t coming from the drains. Staff could only air out room and attempt to cover the smell, which returned, with an odor spray. The room was, in general, clean—-except for the crusted rim and outside of the toilet bowl.

Lack of staff.......again. No restaurant.

This was our third time at this hotel. It’s in a good location, near the motorway, but quiet with easy parking. The last tome we came on a Sunday evening we were told we could not order food as there was only one member of staff for the bar, reception and restaurant. The same thing happened this time, so we ad to find a restaurant nearby which ended up being very expensive. It also seems that if there was any security or safety issue one member of staff would clearly be insufficient. Is that legal? A hotel shouldn’t include a restaurant as a facility if it can’t provide a range of food. All that was in offer was heated up pizza. It’s a shame because otherwise it’s in a good location and reasonably priced.

Nice welcome, although the staff member was on her own for our arrival, juggling reception and bat she was very helpful. Hotel Well positioned for the motorway, not central to Aalst (despite the name) but easily walkable into the centre with 20 mins or so. Free parking outside, but €9 in the garage. Room is a standard new IBis room nice, clean and modern, Good shower, tv etc. A bit of noise from the corridor, but probably more due to inconsiderate guests than the hotel design. Good breakfast. Would stay again.

Not enough staff to cover the busy weekend for the Ninove vw event. Very disappointed waiting for service foe drinks. Staff were friendly but struggling andcir was not their fault. We suffered for that. Take note next year when we are all back. Put more staff on Fri and Sat evening's. Thank you.

This was a terrible hotel I never see before,even the room inside the pub has basic stuff.....i couldn't imagine not a kettle,not cup even tea or coffee,then the cleaner didn't empty the bins,pillow cases not clean and bed not comfortable two single matrise and it was moving shame.

I've stayed here a couple of times and it has always been basic but clean. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The walls in the rooms are a bit thin, so you can hear quite a bit of noise if there's noisy people around. Breakfast is reasonably varied and ok.

Reasonable hotel for an overnight stay close to the motorway to Calais. Bed ok but room a bit dim, not enough lighting. Had bar and bar food so no need to venture out if you're tired. Plenty of parking. Pet friendly.

Worst hotel experience I have had in years. \"Bathroom smells\" come into my bathroom through the exhaust vents somehow. Every morning I wake up with more and more itchy bug bites...I cant see anything in the bed or room, but more every morning. I gave them two business days for laundry service, and after day two (I'm checking out in the morning) I got it back dirty and was told I did not provide enough time. (Two Business days!) Now I have to spend few hours this weekend at a laundry mat instead of seeing the sites of this beautiful country.

Cheap looking rooms

We always book an ibis hotel where ever we go. This was cheaply made hotel hated the shower reminds us of the old fashioned prefabricated house made in the war. The beds were cheap and very low. No facilities to make a drink. One staff to run the reception, food and drinks. The price was not cheap for such poor facility.

cleanliness, food and service were decent. One negative aspect was the lack of communication between staff. I sent a few items to the laundry on monday & was informed that they would be ready by wednesday. However, when i dropped by the front desk to collect my laundry, i was informed that the laundry was not done as the laundromat was closed for the week. I was extremely upset as I needed the clothes for the rest of the week. Ended up washing them by hand in the hotel room. Should I have been informed earlier, I would have been able to search for alternatives. Did not appreciate the last minute communication from the staff.

Good location but everything else is just ok

Hotel is at a very good location. Since we drove from Calais, it was very convenient to come off E40 and there was your hotel. Only took us 20 min by foot to the Aalst centre, where you can get a train into Brussel in 30 min.

The room was ok, pretty standard. But they only gave you one small thin bath towel (no face towel, no hand towel). It feels like the towel has been in the wash for many years, fabric feels hard and doesn't smell fresh at all. For a 3-star hotel you would expect they do better than that. If i knew the towel is that disgusting, I wish I could have brought my own.

The hotel staff was ok. Sometimes you have to wait for a long time at the reception because they are too busy serving the bar. Once we came back to the hotel around 10 pm with the car, had been pressing button and wait a long time for the reception to open the barrier for underground car park. For a 3-star hotel you would expect the staffs are a bit more efficient.

Haven't had food at the hotel, so can't comment on the food.

Clean and simple but over priced.

We had an overnight stop on the way back thru Belgium. The hotel was fine but very basic for the price and as it's not included, the breakfast, although large, was an expensive add on. On the way down we stayed at a smaller boutique place and for the same price had a comparably luxurious overnight stay. If we went past again we wouldn't choose it unless there was nothing else available.

We stayed at family room with a five-year-old child. The room itself was okay but there's no electic kettle or coffee, tea or anything. I usually do not use those facilities but this time it was very cold and I needed to have something warm but I do not have any choice to go to the bar.
Breakfast served with a price of 14 euro per person which is a bit over-priced comparing to what provided. But again we do not have a choice as it was very cold and snowed a lot and have a kid.
* Good thing: free parking and free Wifi

This hotel is in a VERY inconvienent place. It's called the centrum but it is no where near the centrum. It requires a taxi to get to and of course a taxi to leave. If you do decide to stay here reserve a taxi the night before as it takes 30 minutes for one to arrive in the morning. Also there are very few if any dining choices at this hotel. The hotel it's self has a restaurant but it is of low quality and expensive for what you get. Example 9 euro frozen pizza. In my opinion this is a property to avoid.

Easy to get to from Brussels Airport. First thing you hit whe you take Aalst exit. Close to Erembodegem industrial park. Hotel fine for a couple of nights.. Comfortable bed and good shower. Bar and breakfast adequate. Go out for evening restaurant meal locally.

What a shambles

I travel a lot. If I stayed in a disorgnized mess like this place in India or South America thenI I would just smile and shrug but to find a place like this in Belgium was unbelievable.
- I ordered no smoking room but it stank of smoke
- I was on my own and ate no breakfast yet they charged me for two people
- The Wifi didnt work except in a limited area (which did not include most of the guest rooms). After some questioning I was eventually told it had been like that for weeks and they did not have the budget to fix it.

Avoid this place at all costs

I shall be booking this hotel in a few months time or on my next visit most definite. It took me 2 hours to drive from callais and is an ideal base for brussels Centrum which is a must see.
