Value: 5 stars - great location, and a great price
Room: 3 stars - strong unpleasant odor coming from shower drain, but quickly got used to it. Older TV didn't HDMI input.
Overall: 4 stars - still one of the best values in Salamanca

High quality Ibis, reasonably priced

This was one of the best Ibis hotels we stayed at. It's a basic formula and you know what you're getting - but this property was well located in Salamanca, staff were helpful (we checked in at 3am due to flight delays in Madrid), breakfast buffet was very good with lots of choice and it was extremely reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

The staff are 10/10 excellent for friendliness and just helped one woman and a dog so much. The location is perfect, right next to a glorious park, super dog friendly and at dusk the bird song is incredible as starlings roost in the trees by the hotel- amazing. I am back here on return journey

We arrived before the check-in time, and were able to check in early. However, the room we were given was adapted for a wheelchair. The shower had no base and the curtain didn't reach the floor, and so water went everywhere. In retrospect, we should have not accepted this room and waited until a regular room was available.

The room itself was very small and very basic, and poorly built. In the bathroom, every time you turned the faucet off it hit the mirror, which was loose, and banged. There was no where to place your luggage. It was quite awkward opening just carry on luggage on the floor, I don't know how you would manage with full size suitcases.

We had breakfast included. It was a buffet with the usual continental breakfast items, but nothing extraordinary.

On the positive side, the location is quite good - within walking distance of the old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good hotel in a great location

This is the second time we e stayed here on our journey through Spain back to U.K. it’s a great city hotel, just far enough from the main hub of the city so it is a lot quieter. Both times we’ve been lucky enough to have a room overlooking the gardens. We had the buffet breakfast which is ok for the price. It is a shame the parking is extra!

Reasonable city hotel in great location

We had an overnight stop in this hotel and found it ideal! It is situated in a great location for walking and exploring the city. There is paid parking in a private garage but we managed to get a free space outside the hotel! The room was a reasonable size and was comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was manageable but we found it a little small. Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, speaking a reasonable amount of English which helped enormously! The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choice and was constantly being restocked. I will certainly stay here again.

A convenient and reasonably priced hotel for a stay in Salamanca. The room was clean, bed comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat here. Just a little warning - if you’re visiting the city on foot, the walk back from Plaza Mayor is up quite a steep hill!

Love this location. Opens on to a beautiful park in a safe neighborhood. The parking is very convenient in a city where parking is a perpetual problem. The restaurant was reasonable, but there are many little cafes in walking distance, as well as a grocery and very nice restaurants (try Clavel 8). The room was a good size. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Everything was clean. It’s locsted a pleasant walk to the plaza and close to a good gymnasium. Very quiet street!

Location great with park across quiet road for exercising dog. Underground parking a real bonus as nowhere to park in Salamanca.
Didn't think the breakfast was very good this time..... tepid coffee,over baked baguette and rock hard fruit salad but it's normally fine, so I'll be back for another visit soon.

Great budget hotel in good location

All good as usual apart from my normal gripe. The bedroom is always too hot for me and there is no way to cool it down. Aircon seems to be switched off in winter. Surely it wouldn't cost much to run it at this time of year ? Rooms may be fine for locals but far too hot for northern Europeans !!!

This hotel is right in the centre of Salamanca. Walk to everything. Staff are just wonderful and room was really clean and had everything we needed.
Just a word of caution of you have a vehicle to park higher than 1.9 meters. This is the ceiling height of the parking garage. Our van would not fit and it is hard to find nearby street parking.
But overall, this hotel comes with my highest recommendations. And we loved this city!

Ideal for us as a stopover between Algarve and northern Spain. They take the dog and there's an excellent park for him opposite. Also there is secure undergound parking which is very necessary as parking is a nightmare in Salamanca. Good buffet breakfast and the place has just been nicely updated. Close to the ancient part of town.

An ideal place to break a long journey

I booked this hotel at the last minute to break an overnight journey to Bilbao from Lisbon. The hotel was excellent in terms of cleanliness, friendly staff and access (though I did use a GPS SatNav to find it, so don´t know how easy it would be to find without one as it is not located right on a main street but in a side street). A late snack from the menu was very reasonably priced and was made to order due to my night time arrival. All in all, other IBIS hotels that I have stayed in would do well to look to this one to learn about standards and good customer service - BUT - though reasonably priced, I feel car parking should be included in the price. It was extra. Hotels seem to charge for parking but the safety of any guests´ belongings - including vehicles - should be of paramount importance to any hotel. Not all IBIS hotels charge for parking so I have to ask why this one does?

The room was everything you could ask for, the location was brilliant. The only negative thing was that the room was very hot and the air conditioning does not work in December. We wanted to leave the window open but we had a 11 month old pup that could get out, we were surprised that there was no restrictors on the window to stop it opening wide.

Been pleased with this hotel before and still am ! Ideal for seeing the old town of Salamanca. Parking in town can be a nightmare so the secure underground car park is a real bonus. Ideal for dog owners as there is a nice park opposite.

Hotel reception was very good and you have excellant helfull staff. Parking in the underground carpark was very scarey but we were grateful to have somewhere to park as the town is very busy. We enjoyed the walk in the public gardens opposite the hotel.
We also had a very enjoyable breakfast before we left the following morning.

Handy central location for o/nght en route south

Easy to find using Tom Tom Sat Nav but also signposted. Care needed on underground car park ramps especially with car loaded up (grounding).
Couldn't find local restaurant to eat early, most didn't open till 8.00/8.30 ended up eating back at hotel which was fast food microwave type but adequate for our needs with a bottle of red. Didn't help that we had arrived on a main fiesta day and the centre was heaving.

Ibis Salamanca provided what we usually expect from Ibis. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room, close to city centre and public transport. Have seen some less avourable reviews about this and another Ibis that we used in Spain, don't know why, we were not disappointed. Not sure what people expect.

The hotel was clean, efficient, very friendly and helpful. The one downside is that it is difficult to find by car - the TomTom is easily confused by the one-way streets. Ignore TomTom and follow the signposts in Calla Gran Via in the city centre. Hotel is very convenient for (the must see) La Plaza Mayor. There are no tea-making facilities so room gets 4 for comfort.
