We hated this hotel and it almost ruined our trip to El Calafate. The hotel is located about a 20 minutes drive outside of town and we felt very isolated. The rooms were not cleaned. They would make the beds and take out the garbage but left towels on chairs and dirty cups. The toilet and shower were clearly not cleaned. The breakfast was disgusting - 12 kinds of carbs, all sweet, and almost no protein. We came down one morning at 8 and every table was filled with dirty dishes and all unoccupied. The toaster was backed up with stuck bread and no one was around to help or clear a table. In general, the staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful - it was so hard just to get the number of a taxi that could get us into town. Every single time we left the room our key stopped working. They never once apologized and told me it was my fault, that I must have had it next to my cell phone, but the key wouldn’t work even if I left the room without my phone just to grab some water. There is a nespresso machine in the room but they will charge you for pods. Everything here was a negative for us. I considered switching but I had prepaid and couldn’t pay for another.

We stayed in 5 hotels during our travels across Argentina and all were wonderful except this one. Do not stay here.

A wonderful hotel, and I would especially like to highlight its staff. The only thing that was not perfect is that it is not located near the city centre, and since it is far away if you do not have a car, it is difficult to access. Its restaurant is very good, perhaps with a rather short menu. The best thing about the hotel: its customer service.

Far from the city. The shuttle service is not convenient. Have to take a cab every time we need to go into the city. The staff does not speak a word of English. We were able to manage with our broken Spanish. Some of them are unprofessional . We booked a message 2 days in advance and confirmed the day before. When we arrived 10 mins prior to our appt, they lied and said that we never confirmed. When confronted, they said that the lady is in other hotels and will not make it. When asked why we were not informed about this earlier, they had an I don't care attitude and smirked. Very disappointed in their service.

Positives include clean rooms, bathrooms, daily cleaning service, breakfast in the morning.

The views of the Argentina lake are stunning. We had a great time walking around the property. They also provide convenient shuttle to downtown Calafate. If there was anything I would change it would be that the interior and the room itself would get a bit toasty at night. We turned of the heater and that helped but did not solve the issue. We ended up opening the window slightly, but felt bad we were likely wasting energy by doing so.

Perfect hotel in a quiet location in El Calafate

Edenia is a wonderful hotel out of town with magnificent views of the Andes and lake Argentino.
We stayed for 1 week and thoroughly enjoyed each day. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. The shuttle that goes into town regularly was great and very convenient. We ate dinner at the restaurant which was delicious and breakfast was varied and also excellent. Thank you

It was a great hotel and stay. Just a slight hiccup with the check in. We tried to check in about 30 mins after the registration and they didn’t have information at the hotel. It took about 20 mins to check in and for them to find ya a room. Also, the breakfast was not a great.

The property was way better than the pictures in Expedia are able to show. It has a beautiful lake view, nice amenities, superb service, rooms are very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. You can walk barefoot to the bathroom as its floor is heated, room heating is so efficient and subtle you don't feel any current just a room warm enough to sleep without the need of a blanket in my case or a light blanket for my wife.

Room with king bed roomy and comfortable, nice view of lake. Breakfast was included but scrambled eggs and wieners of some sort were cold every morning and really not palatable, fruit salad and assorted cookies were nice, coffee good.
Shuttle to town was useful as it was too far to walk, condition of shuttle bus was poor, seats uncomfortable and one row of seats swayed from side to side, driver did not want you to sit there. They need a new shuttle bus!

The wind greets you as you try to open car door when arriving and departing, and it howls all night against windows. There is added noise from other rooms as walls are thin. No hot water when we arrived. Breakfast good. Restaurant dinner unexpectedly good. Be careful to book Lake not Bay as you dont get view expected.

The views from the hotel are rather nice, but unfortunately, they have a very slow check-in for people arriving early and because of some of the staff's poor English, the rules were not clear. Apparently, they try to charge quite a bit extra both on check in and check out - even if they have several rooms available. It just made us very negative to start with.

Further, there is almost nothing in the room, not even glasses. An empty minibar. No duvet, so it was very cold when going to bed. The TV seems to be from the 80's - in the best case. The breakfast is terrible, with no porridge and almost unedible scrambled eggs. If you like to have lunch, it must be pre-ordered the day before, earlier than 10 PM. The hotel is also rather far off from the city. Another of the worst things here is the terrible wi-fi - which often doesn't work or cannot be used to upload photos, the main thing that people on a holiday like this would like to do..

We loved everything about this hotel. There is a stunning view of Argentina Lake from the breakfast room. The rooms are a great size and very clean.

The shuttle bus into downtown is really convenient and has you into the main shopping are in 10 mins.

The best thing though has to be the staff. They are all so helpful. I have to give a special mention to Rodrigo who went out of his way to find out about our tour group when we thought we had missed the tour to the Perito Moreno glacier.

Super inconvenient if you don't have a car

We took a metered taxi from the town center to the hotel, it costed 230 ARS. The hotel could arrange one for you for 150 ARS, they said. The free shuttle bus wouldn't take luggages that was why we ended up with paying to get to the hotel.

The lobby was old and tired. The room was dated with tube TV but the bathroom was renovated and clean.

Breakfast was ok. Eggs and veggies were the only hot food. A few fresh fruits. The rest of the table were filled with cookies and pastries, lots of them.

The lake view was not impressive, probably couldn't even go on the deck as the plants were not maintained and sticking out everywhere. Unsafe.

All and all, I wouldn't stay there again.

Although the hotel is located at the outskirts of El Calafate town the hotel has a van service since 10am to 10:30pm taking guest to town and back. The surrounding is really Patagonian landscape and within 1/2 hour walk one arrives to the Argentino lake. The tours were amazingly beautiful and interesting. Overall a great trip.

Great hotel, but is located 8 kms from the city center (the location on hotels.com provides wrong info of 0.3 km).
The hotel does have a reliable shuttle, but it starts running only at 10 am and has a break between noon and 2 pm. Most of the tours companies are not prepared to pick up tourists from the hotel, so you need to pay for a taxi every time ~$10 US.The shuttle driver is great and speaks reasonably good English.
The breakfast is also good

Hotel outside El Calafate

The hotel is a 10 minute ride outside of town, with easy access via taxi or their own shuttle. It is an up to date facility, with a large dining area that overlooks lago Argentina. There is also a bar with a nice seating area to hang out. Otherwise, there is not much to do on premises. The rooms are on the smaller side, but are clean and have the basic requirements. I think the best part of the hotel were the staff who were very helpful in assisting with issues or getting tours and the like.

A. The view is beautiful. B. Make sure you reserve a room with a view. We were under the impression that we had but we were wrong so keep that in mind. Otherwise your window will face a dirt berm and some weeds. Now, breakfast from an American's perspective is not very good. The croissants were tasty and usually warm but other than that it's slim pickings. The room was comfortable although there is no temperature control and at times we felt a little warm at night. We would've just opened the window some but there was no screen on the window and didn't want to let bugs in. Should this stop you from staying there? No. It's a great hotel. Staff was nice. A young man at the front desk who spoke great english helped us book a Kayak tour around the icebergs which was fantastic. The shuttle was very convenient and punctual. The shuttle driver Fracisco aka Poncho aka Ponchito was great. Very kind and informative. Happy to go out of his way for you. I told him he should run for Mayor. Poncho for President. Tell him the Golden Hour couple says hi. The restaurant had great reviews but we didn't really like it. We were there for NYE and it was a very expensive and underwhelming meal. Still, after all that nitpicking I'd recommend it.

I didn't have an issue with the hotel being \"far\" from town. There is a free shuttle and there really isn't much in town any how.

Also the food is soooo good at the Edenia hotel! The presentation and the taste is like 5-star quality. The staff at the restaurant are very pleasant and willing to help. They even made recommendations and the woman who served the Buffett breakfast remembered that I drink green tea with breakfast after my having breakfast there only once.

The room is very clean. I believe I saw online that the hotel was recently renovated. It feels modern and clean in the room. Plus I enjoyed the view of the lake and watching Invesitigation Discovery channel in Spanish.

The only improvements may be with the front desk. For example, I called a few days before flying in from Buenos Aires to book airport transfer and a tour. They said not to worry about your can do that when I get there. The issue came when I arrived I was told the tour I wanted to do I have to pay in cash only. I did not have enough cash on me. I feel like when I inquired about the tours by phone with them they should of gave me a heads up that the tours can cost up to $x in cash only. Next was my last day I was in town and I started not feeling too well so I headed to go catch the shuttle back to the hotel. When the shuttle didn't show up after more than an hour I called and was told the shuttle was on break and would resume at 3pm. I was not told this when I left the hotel. communication is key

Edenia had beautiful views of the lake, all around gorgeous location. The staff was very helpful, opening breakfast early for us, packing up medialunas, calling tour companies, etc. Rooms were nice and comfortable. After days of hiking and glaciers, it would have been great to have a hot tub or some other comfortable area to hang out, relax, and enjoy some wine, but the lobby area was nice and the rooms were spacious enough that we didn't mind hanging out in there.
The hotel is a bit far from town...10-15 min / ~$8 cab ride. There's a shuttle, but not first thing in the morning, and many tour groups won't pick up here.

Could have been the best hotel in town, but not. The hotel has the best view of calafate and the best building in town. Unfortunately it is completlly secluded from town and there is nothing to do around, unless you jog in which case this place has the most beautifull views and dirt roads to do so.
The restaurant within the hotel and the only option of food in the surrounding neighborhood is uneatable. Some of the restaurant staff is unwelcoming and at sometimes even rude.
The beds and pillows are hard, not very rest full after long day trips.

Great service (Cecilia was very helpful), nice rooms, fabulous views of Lago Argentino. Four miles from El Calafate but hourly shuttle from 10 to 10 helps. The main issue is the thin walls so make sure you get a room with no adjacent room on the \"bed\" side of the room.

Nice place to stay but it's pretty far out from the center of town. The hotel offers hourly shuttles to town, but they don't let you take luggage on the shuttle. So if you were planning to take the shuttle to town before going to the bus station... you can't. Cab to the center of town can be booked thru front desk. Otherwise, the staff is super friendly and very helpful with answering questions, helping to book cabs, and even exchanging small amount of USD to pesos. Wifi worked throughout hotel.

Really nice hotel in El Calafate.

Edenia is located outside of the main El Calafate town, but it is in a great location on top of a hillside with a beautiful view of Lake Argentina. They have a shuttle that runs from 11 am or so until 10:30 pm to the center of town, which we found to be convenient. You could also walk to town, which is about a 30 min walk. We personally enjoyed staying outside of the main town, which is full of tourists and very busy. We loved our view of the lake, and slept with our windows open every night. If you want to stay here, be sure to request a lakeview room.

Over-all, a good hotel to stay at if you have a car since it is located about 9kms from the center of El Calafate. The hotel has amazing views of the lake and the town.

Check in was easy although very long since they almost insist on taking you to the bar area, serve you a drink and tell you all about the hotel and the area.

Staff are very friendly and courteous, and know about the area really well.
The rooms are very clean and well taken care of, although relatively old style.

A couple of notes about the rooms, first, not a lot of “counter” space, i.e. a place to put your little stuff, a desk would have been nice. Second, the sound insulation is not very good, and we could hear things happening in the next room. On our second stay (we stayed on two different occasions), the room had a musky smell and it was obvious that they sprayed it with air freshner to try and remove the smell. it only went away after leaving the window open for a few hours.

There is wifi in the hotel which is relatively stable and reliable with decent speed for the location.

Breakfast is ok, nothing special, a continental style with some scrambled eggs as a hot dish, but there is no shortage of food, and the opening times are very generous, from 6:30am to 11am.

Great Place to Stay in El Calafate

Great place to stay in El Calafate. Nice Hotel. Excellent Service. The staff made you feel at home. The manager helped us in many ways. She was really the best ! She helped us with our tour problems. She secured a car for us when everywhere we tried there we none available. She made sure every detail of our stay was taken care of. The hotel is situated on a hill a short distance from town overlooking the lake. It has a spectacular view. We will stay here again when in El Calafate.

Excellent hotel, superb service

The room assigned us did not have a lake view, so we asked to be changed. Leo, the receptionist, immediately upgraded us at no additional charge to a corner suite, with a separate living room, that had a spectacular view! The staff were all extremely helpful. The only drawback was the distance to town, 6 km away, but it is a delightful walk along the banks of the lake to town. Plus the hotel has a shuttle every hour from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Good but not at all convenient

While the hotel is new and very nice, it is very far (15min shuttle ride) to the \"city\" center where all the restaurants, shops, and travel agents are. This can get very frustrating and also adds to the expense of the trip (cab/shuttle to and from the airport are more expensive, tours with pick-ups are more expensive, etc)

A spot of tranquility with wonderful views

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Edenia; the views from the restaurant over the lake are stunning and the quality of the food extremely good. The staff is very friendly and eager to help and even when the Hotel is a little far away from the town, it gives the Hotel extra peace and tranquillity, as well as the feeling of being away from everything. There is also a shuttle service offered by the hotel which runs frequently and on time.

Strongly reommend

Stayed 4 nites at Edenia. Friendly n helpful staff . Hotel is slightly far from town centre . Hotel provide FREE transport to n from town centre every hour. Postcard sceneries throughtout the hotel.Rooms fresh ,new n luxuries .Breakfast room for inprovement. Overall very happy with my stay.
Should we go back I would stay at Edenia again .Highly recommend

Hotel Edenia - El Calafate

We were very impressed with this hotel. It has a lovely view of the lake and town and has regular shuttles in to town which were great. The two downsides were the lack of air conditioning / fan in the room and the breakfast. We couldn't open the bedroom windows because the curtains blocked them and so the room was quite hot and stuffy. The breakfasts were quite simple and didn't have a very good/healthy selection. However, overall we would recommend this hotel because of its excellent service, comfort and great views!

My best hotel experience ever

The hotel is very new, modern decor, simple elegance. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Extremely spacious. We stayed at a room adjoining to a double room for my kids. We each have our own bath. Just the most perfect arrangement for a family.
The hotel is 5 minutes outside the central business area of Calafate. But the hotel has hourly shuttle, so there was no problem at all.
The most impressive feature of this hotel is the staff. Pascal and her staff, Mateo, Marcia and Leo were very accommodating and super helpful to every details, from tour arrangement and how to do a self guided excursion to nearby El Chalten,to trail recommendations.They were very good to start helping us by email even before we arrived. After experiencing how slow internet is in that area, their punctual and responsiveness is even more impressive.
It really felt like home away from home.
I have travel around the world. This is the only hotel that I was sorry to leave at the end of my trip.

Excellent Service - better than 5 star hotel

The staff was very kind and detail in providing the services. They even studied my next plans and made a recommendation. For example, I told a receptionist at night shift that I plan to go to El Chalten by bus next morning. Next morning, while I was having a breakfast in a restaurant, a receptionist came to me (morning shift staff) and said he is aware of my plan today and asked if I need a taxi to go to a bus station. Another day, I was entering to a restaurant for dinner. One of the receptionist, who was aware that I am a vegetarion, came into restaurant shortly after I got in and he talked something to waiter. Then the waiter came to me with a list of recommendation for vegetarian. It's like a personal buttler service! It's an amazing experice I ever had and it's better than 5 start hotel service, in my view. Strongly recommended to stay in this hotel.

A Beautiful Hotel

The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful, the room well-maintained with a great view of Lake Argentina. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were delicious, as were the box lunches we took with us on the glacier tour. The hotel is somewhat distant from the center of town - and the hotel shuttle was in the shop during our stay, so taxis were the only alternative. This was a minor inconvenience.

We highly recommend

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and well taken care of. Marcia greeted us and recommended touring options; Leo, Martin, Mateo, Paola and the excellent management of Pasquale all made for a very enjoyable stay. The food is excellent. The view of the lake from our room and the dining room was breathtaking. The only improvement I would suggest is the gym - but with plenty of hikes in the area - it was not a limiting factor.

The location is out of the main town which for some could be limiting but for others could be a welcome break. The hotel offers van service but while we were there the van was broken. The hotel was generous about paying for all taxi service between the hotel and the town and made all arrangements for us.

The only hotel, in many years of travelling, I was sorry to leave...

The atmosphere in the Edenia hotel was extremely friendly, and each of the workers there was helpful even beyond what may seem required by their duties. The chef at the dining room was excellent, and the view from the hotel on Lago Argentino unforgettable. The room are spacious, new, and furnished in a remarkably good taste. The souvenir and the local art work that were for sale were of excellent quality, yet cheaper than those sold at shops downtown El Calafate. The hotel runs an hourly free shuttle from and to the hotel, thus eliminating the need for a rented car or taxi service. In short - the best place we were throughout our 4 weeks trip in Argentina.

Great hotel, great people, great experience

Such nice people. Check-in was easy and went well beyond just checking in. One of the managers helped us understand the area and activities and even helped us get tickets for the glacier boat trip early the next morning, saving us the hassle of doing that (since we got in late and just wanted to rest). They gave us a drink and all around, it was a very warm welcome. The rooms are nice, the showers are great, the beds are comfortable, and hotel is quiet, etc. The shuttle to town is 15 minutes and easy to use. The breakfasts were good and easy. Great views. Would definitely recommend it.

Best personnel, best service

I stayed there for 2 nights in mid-October. It was absolutely great and that's why I take the time to write this. People working at Edenia (Martin, Mateo and Lia) are absolutely amazing and very helpful, without being pushy. The hotel is nice and clean, and modern enough without disrupting the nice views. Another advantage is that you are picked up the last for the tours, since the hotel is at the end of the town, so you don't have to pick up everybody at their hotels. All in all, a perfect stay. Parabéns aos funcionarios e administração , ótimos em limpeza , atenção e organização . Só faltou a Bíblia (a Palavra de Deus , o manual do fabricante ) nos quartos . Internet muito bom o SINAL . Acústica dos quartos é fraca , escuta o vizinho dos lados falarem palavrões , constrangedor . a TV ligada também escuta dos lados mesmo na hora de dormir . Não deveriam permitir fumantes nem do lado de fora do refeitório , pois o mal cheiro do cigarro penetra no ambiente .
