Our stay at this hotel in Ubud was overall pleasant. The scenery is beautiful and the location is very convenient—close to the center of Ubud. We booked the honeymoon suite, which was definitely the highlight: very private with our own pool, which we loved especially since the main pool was green during our entire stay. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was decent but lacked variety, so we opted out for the latter half of our stay. Overall, a solid 3-star experience.

Thank you Ulus Petulu for your hospitality. Staff members were very friendly, professional, and helpful. Location is strategically closed to the heart of Ubud. Rooms are clean, and beds are beautifully decorated. Breakfast is simple, but tastes good. It wasn't buffet; it was made based on order.

We booked a 2 bedrooms villa, but it only had 1 bathroom which is not convenient. One bedroom is up stair. Down stair bedroom is located right as soon as we open the front door. There isn't any living room which is also a downside.

Lovely staff, good location, nice room.

Very friendly & helpful staff (when we were checking out, someone was doing some groundworks and saw us with the suitcases and came straight over to help). Beautiful grounds. Steps have a ramp by them for ease of transporting suitcases (though staff did help). We stayed in one of the honeymoon villas which was very pleasant - just be careful on the stairs as the top step isn’t marked and we nearly tripped a few times.They gave us a towel/floral arrangement on arrival which was so sweet.
Lots of breakfast options, though just fruit or egg if gluten free. Room had a mini bar with drinks & some snacks (to buy).
Good location - short walk into the main streets of Ubud. Though location is slightly wrong on google maps (we had to keep walking further up).
Overall would recommend. Thank you!

Indonesia is mind boggling. Temples, monkeys, zippy scooter people, lots of green and very kind people. This Villa Resort was beautiful. Makes you wonder how long all the lush greenery has been growing. We were in the single floor Honeymoon Villa. Lots of space, comfy bed, private pool and backyard space. I can't recommend it enough. Our rate included breakfast daily and it was quite satisfying and tasty. ALL of the workers were wonderful especially Amanda. I can also recommend tours with Bli Kanek. He took us to the monkey forest one day and toured all around Ubud the next and then took us to our next place in Seminyak. What a lovely 5 nights we had.

Nice staff, big room with nice balcony. Breakfast fine. Annoying sharp small step into bathroom, almost broke my toes twice. Small lizards in room and large ones on the balcony, perhaps to be expected on the edge of the jungle. Hot water available most of the time. Mineral water chiller/heater in room was great. As with most of Ubud, the road is slightly perilous for walking - no space for pedestrians, open drainage ditches and limited lighting. Sign outside is not obvious and easily missed.

Alas Petulu was a great little hotel to stay in. Super friendly and helpful staff. Located on a small road off the main street of Ubud - so it's peaceful and quiet, yet very accessible to the town centre. Housekeeping services daily, and the rooms are kept very clean. Nice pools, and good breakfasts every morning too!

Room wasn't properly prepared when we were granted access ( Used towels left hanging in bathroom - and who knows what else? ). Our room (family room) looking a bit worn, though does look to be one of the earlier structures. Noisy dogs barking at night. Restraunt only open for breakfast but breakfast is OK. Great pool and landscaping. 10 min' walk to town. Great drinking water unit in room, every place should have one. Staff friendly.
Overall a good experience but tainted by questionable room prep'.

One of the best places I’ve stayed in with my two sons. They had their own room, our room on top floor with balcony and amazing view of the gorgeous gardens. The pools were amazing! Made extra special by the wonderful staff.

Very poor customer service-- waste of money

Very disappointing.... I stayed there twice previously and had an urgent matter come up and they refused to make any changes or cancellations. They continued to send annoying messages asking me about arranging pricey transport. After I didn't show up, they continued to send me messages about my stay. It's like they have no attention to the customer whatsover and don't value return customers. I won't be back.

Nice place to stay with easy walk to downtown. The rooms were a good size. The furniture is dated. The breakfast was good and sizeable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, and it is not the fault of the owners/staff, the local roosters next door are ridiculous and woke my wife and I up every day very early- and they would not stop!!! For this reason alone I would be hesitant to stay here again. The walk to town can be tricky. There are only short distances that have sidewalks down the road you must walk to get downtown and the traffic can be significant at times and this can make you feel a little unsafe sometimes- you just have exercise caution. I never felt unsafe from anything in 2 weeks of vacation in Bali except for walking along this road at night simply due to the traffic sharing the road with you.

Balinese hospitality shines through at this wonderful boutique hotel. I think there are 9 rooms, sort of \"villa\" style. Our room was immaculate! also spacious with a lovely view of the grounds. We had the one bedroom suite with the balcony. A la carte Breakfast daily was included and very good. Easy walk of a few \"blocks\" into town, although the road has no sidewalk so you have to watch out for the motorbikes. There were a few miscues with housekeeping (bath and hand towels first day, no hand towels second day, only hand towels 3rd day) but these were quickly resolved. The staff is gracious and friendly. Highly recommend!

Nice hotel with beautiful space.

The family cottage is very nice ans spacious for 4 people but no common space inside. However, there is porch. The hotel space is very nice with 2 pools and nature.

The breakfast took quite a long time to serve, even with no guest.

Good location, walkable distance to city center but...it might be quite far for some people.
Wifi is a disappointment. Rarely work for me with iPhone but somehow it seemed to work better with android.

Stayed in the 'honeymoon' suite which had the private pool. Was lovely but a little tired. blinds didnt work properly and couch was not comfortable. Bed was good and pool was lovely though. Breakfast was fine, but two tiny sausages for 22,000r should not have been charged extra!
Lovely gardens too and didnt discover the gym until leaving, so was not shown the facilities on arrival.

This place is OK...the 2 rooms that we had (pool villa and standard room) both smelt very bad and the mildew was unhealthy. The staff were pleasant when you could find someone which was annoying. The communal pool was very nice, however, the pool lounges were disgustingly old and falling apart. Overall moderate or OK. Breakfast very limited and again just OK. Walking distance to main area but a bit removed.

There was a construction view from the first unit .but they moved us to a lovely garden suite for the next night.this little resort is a pleasure to be at .The grounds are gorgeous ,with an impressive stone temple at the front and amazing stone work around a great pool.Units are a good size and you can walk to Ubud 's main street in less than 10 mins.There are a few stairs to deal with ,especially going up/down to the pool.

Convenient Location, Not so good service

As we understood that Bali service is more often inconsistent than not, it became frustrating that breakfast takes 1 hour to get ready -- as we observed that there is only 1 person assigned in the kitchen (from prepping food items to cooking them to serving them). Also, as we were ordering the same breakfast items each day (we stayed for 4 days) and had our breakfast the same time, the food and drinks that came were inconsistent -- 6 pieces of sausage (with charge) became 4 and on another day was only 5 with the last one split in the middle to make it look like 6 pieces! Another example is the amount of coffee and juice being served, it being only a single-serve. Extra bed also not comfortable at all. And aircon not functioning fully. Also, they turn off your electricity without proper advise - we went out for dinner and left the airconditioning running (as it doesn't make the room cold at all and it the humidity outside is crazy) only to come back to the room with turned off electricity! They just turned it off, no other items were done in the room - not cleaned, towels not replaced, garbage not taken out - just the electricity/aircon turned off!

A great find in Ubud.

It is a little walk (10-15 mins) to the centre on a road without a pavement but it is still well located. It is in a gorgeous setting surrounded by tall trees and well-maintained gardens. We had a room with a private pool that was a treat especially as the main pool was also lovely. When we arrived our private pool was a little dirty but we found out this was because the electricity had gone off the day before and turned off the filter system, once that was sorted it was beautiful and we used it everyday.

The breakfast was good, quite standard for Bali – eggs, toast, jam, juice. Staff were friendly and helpful but the reception desk was often unmanned and it was sometimes hard to find people, that didn’t spoil our enjoyment though.

There was a great veggie café called Fussy Bird about 25 metre away which was good for lunch and juices.

Our room was a good size and the bathroom was massive. It was clean and well maintained but felt a little more rustic than the pictures show. It still felt like good value for money and nicer than a lot of the usual Bali accommodation, we really enjoyed our time in Ubud and Alas Petulu.

Close to the action in ubud

The staff were superb, however, lack of small items such as plates extra cups, glasses and cutlery was inconvenient, there is no kitchenette in any of the rooms and the towels supplied each day were very thin and more appropriate for polishing the car. Views were beautiful and the pools excellent.

Great place for family to stay. Easy walk to main road for dinner and to markets. Practically had the pool to ourselves! Very friendly and helpful staff. Liked that the kids had single bed instead of having to share.m double. Only thing was steps not proportioned - so big to step up & bathroom was downstairs. They were also renovating while we were there but didn't know at time of booking.

Not so good - no phone in room (eg. to contact reception), location not convenient if walking (and felt unsafe walking to accom. at night), description said 24-hour check-in and also tour desk but staff were often difficult to find and tour desk service consisted of dialling number and handing us the phone, also the whole complex is smoked out for mosquitoes once per week (without warning, smoke was so thick and smelly we thought there was a fire...)

All round, not terrible but not as expected either. Wouldn't stay again.

The cottage was excellent. Staff was very friendly and accommondating. Served breakfast to your room each day. Walk to the market was short but a little tricky with no sidewalk on street. There were a few geckos singing to us during the night, but easy to get used to and they ate all the mosquitos around.

The way Bali should be

A lovely group of cottages situated on a quiet side road of the Main Street of Ubud. The grounds and gardens are well kept and create a lovely natural feeling of seclusion. The manager and staff were very accommodating. My family enjoyed the pool facilities. Breakfast served in the gazebo outside our cottage was always filling and the service was excellent. We will stay again when next in Ubud.

Very pleasant stay in a typical Balinese setting. Very helpful staff. Be aware of quite a few high steps to the pool and lower apartments. There was no seating in our apartment except for a desk stool, had to use the bed for relaxing or watching tv.

Great Hotel - nice breakfast on your balcony

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. We had a great time. Great location to do all the things we wanted to, in and around Ubud. its a short walk (5 mins) from the main street and ubud market.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Theres only a few rooms in the hotel so the swimming pool was always empty.
Breakfast was simple but nice enough, served on your balcony each morning.

Good quiet location with easy walk to main sites

A lovely spot feels a bit Indiana Jones with jungle around the pool. If you can book the new rooms overlooking pool they look great but even our older rooms were newly decorated and spotless inside. I would have like more of a receptionist presence as we wanted to book tours and get information but was easy to get outside. There is a great healthy juice and restaurant place called Fussy Bird steps away and the main drag of Ubud an easy walk up the road. If I went back to Ubud I would stay at AMRA its stunning.

Made our stay in Ubud really special

We booked a superior room and they upgraded us to a one bedroom villa. Was absolutely gorgeous and a great way to introduce us to Ubud, it felt like we were in the jungle. Was really peaceful and close to lots of really good restaurants and the Monkey Forest. All of the staff made us feel extremely welcome, and they sorted us out with a driver for a day. Would definitely recommend!

The bedroom was really clean and spacious with a 4 poster bed, clean bathroom for a comfortable stay. Only thing that was a little disappointing was the location. Did not expect it to be so deserted, out of the way & dark at night. Hardly any street lamps and impossible to go out without calling a taxi (which costs double or triple) at night.

Great if you are not planning to go out often, but just stay in the villa, chill and swim.

This hotel was fabulous. There are only 5 rooms, set in traditional Balinese gardens with 2 swimming pools.
It was like our own private oasis. Only 5-10min walk to Ubud city centre, but so many fantastic restaurants close by.
We will definitely be returning!!

What a surprise! This was one of the most beautiful hotels we stayed at in Indonesia. The pools were amazing, the location is convenient to the main streets (about a fifteen minute walk to monkey forest road) and the staff are very eager to help with planning day trips.

ラグジュアリースイートルームに宿泊しました。ベランダが広々していて、ウブドらしい緑を眺めながら過ごす時間が素晴らしいかったです。
スタッフもフレンドリーで笑顔で接してくれます。バリの人は人当たりが良くって大好きです！

朝食はもう少しボリュームが欲しい所です。少額の追加料金でサイズアップは出来るようです。

通りからホテルまで、徒歩10分程の緩い上り坂は車やバイクの往来がそこそこあるので少し注意が必要です。

また機会があったら利用したいと思いました。

We booked this hotel because of the beautiful pool area that we saw in the pictures. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with reality. The pool and the surrounding was dirty, without chaise lounge mattress and the construction of a building right there made the place awful. So the main reason that we chose this hotel was cancelled.
The breakfast was simple and just 3 a la carte choices. If someone want extras as yogurt must pay.
