My stay at The Manor has been extremely disappointing, especially considering the price and the “luxury boutique” label they advertise.

The room I was given has no real windows. Technically there are two openings, but they face a blank wall, so the room feels claustrophobic and gloomy. The Wi-Fi is nearly unusable, constantly dropping every few minutes. The bed is stiff and uncomfortable.

The shower had no hot water. It took the staff about half an hour to “fix” it, and even after that the water was only lukewarm. Not acceptable at this price point.

Room service was another letdown: the prices on the in-room menu didn’t match the bill they brought me, and the difference wasn’t small. On top of everything, there is no bathtub, and the toilet paper is single-ply. Calling this a boutique luxury experience feels misleading.

For what they charge, the quality of the room and the overall service is far below expectations. I regret choosing this hotel and don’t consider it worth the money.

I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone. It's very old, dated, and creaky, like a 15-year-old property which hasn't been re-formed. My bad experience was interrupted by some construction or repair noise which is very nagging. The staff said it would stop, but it hadn't. Don't waste your time at this place.

Beautiful hotel in a calm quiet location. Good choice of restaurants on site and we had a lovely meal with wine in Inja and tasty breakfast. 10 minute taxi ride to Nizamuddin Rail Station convenient for the train to Agra for Taj Mahal.

Property is dated. Designed to be a boutique hotel, it’s seen better days. Furnishings are worn, faucets look rusty, A/c is temperamental, and air purifiers send out dirty smelling air. Hotel promised to change air purifier — a required amenity in a city as polluted as Delhi — and swapped it with one that didn’t even turn on. Food in restaurants is overpriced; you can get a full 5-star lunch for the costs of breakfast. Hotel was in an area convenient to visit family but never again will I suffer this experience. Managers when confronted acted as tho these were my issues as opposed to genuine concerns about a substandard experience! Most quality establishments would offer a meal or some amenity for such a situation; I got a cold shoulder and a barrage of excuses. Much better price value can be had even in Delhi!

Wonderful Boutique Hotel! We arrived in New Delhi to be able to take an early 6am train the following morning to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. We needed a thotel not far form the station. We were picked up at the airport and taken to The Manor. As we checked in the owner and Manager ,Mr Singh, greeted us with such wonderful hospitality as he share a little about himself and the history of this gem of a hotel. We have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and The Manor had so many of the amenities you find in a 5 star hotel . Such attention to detail! We had a wonderful meal in the on site restaurant Camilla's and Sachin the waiter met all our special meal preparation requests! I would highly recommend The Manor....and we are traveling around the world in 67 days..so we are staying in A Lot of different hotels!

Return to The Manor, A Delhi Boutique Hotel

I have returned to The Manor because I love smaller boutique hotels .This is a 14 room hotel that has personal care for each of its guests. It is classically designed but showing a little wear today.The staff is kind, & attentive but there are a couple drawbacks today I believe the owner should attend to:
1.Better Room Air Purifiers (not the one present): We were not informed upon arrival of the room the air purifier and the very poor, dangerously unhealthy polluted exterior air seeped into the room causing us to sleep and wear n95 masks IN our room fir two days before complaining and then the staff informed us if an existing purifier that should have been plugged in. Still other hotels have better room air purifiers and it’s my hope that The Manor improves this equipment.
2. Faster attention to technical issues (no TV internet for 3 of the 5 day stay).
3. Dense Traffic: Traffic of the main road outside the hotel,although not noticeable much inside the hotel grounds,is dense . However, not a big issue.
4. Staff to Better Inform: We were not informed about the Bakery on the grounds until we were set to leave. We were not informed the 1st day of the one Indian breakfast option. Just because we were Westerners didn’t mean we only wanted eggs & toast. We complained & after that each morning breakfast was great. Staff very attentive.
5. Last Day:We had to leave before the breakfast room officially opened by 1/2hr They could not accommodate a “to go”anything. Not good service

Expedia chat was very helpful for me to report this problem and the troubleshoot was made on time via email. However, hotel did not tell me anything about this. As ardent modernist fans we thought the Manor would be the highlight of our trip but on arrival the gentleman on duty walked us out of the hotel, out of the property, and put us in a room in the hotel nextdoor. We questioned him and he simply repeated that 'this is part of the Manor property' until we gave up. We were in another cheaper hotel (76 Friends Colony).

I wish he'd simply been honest and explained why we couldn't have the room we booked, but he was insistent that we hadn't left the Manor, even though he'd just walked us down the road past two sets of security to a separate property. Shady and disappointing. We asked to look around the Manor and were told upstairs was 'only rooms'. Later we found a whole guest roof terrace which we also missed out on. Bitterly disappointing end to our trip.

The price that we paid for our room at The Manor did not come close to the quality that you would expect for that price. Our room was very dated, there was virtually no water pressure in the shower and it took over 10mins for the water to heat up, the hairdryer didn't work, there were no spare power points in the room for charging our devices and the wifi constantly cut out. On top of that, there were 2 small windows in the room that looked directly onto a common terrace so we had to keep the blinds drawn the whole time, leaving us trapped in a virtually windowless box.

When we expressed our disappointment at the condition of our room, they sent the maintenance team to fix the shower which was deemed fixed once the water had heated up - the water pressure remained unchanged. And we were sent a portable wifi connection which also did not work.

According to the hotel information printed in the room, the hotel has 14 newly renovated rooms. We were placed in room #16, which very clearly has not been renovated or even updated in some time. The photos of a \"standard room\" published on Expedia absolutely do not match the quality of the room we were allocated. And given how much money we paid for our standard room, I am disgusted that this type of catfishing is allowed on this platform. I have stayed in many, many hotels in Delhi over the past 7 years, of varying quality, and this is by far one of the worst experiences I have had, that we even departed early and stayed elsewhere.

Loved the setting and concept. It’s a boutique hotel in the middle of a residential area. Very calm and quiet property and the surrounding area appeared posh and safe.
The breakfast was pretty good and flavorful. The owner comes and meets all guests in person and collects feedback which is great to see.
Now to the cons. Our room had a leaking flush knob and didn’t got fixed while we were there as it needed some extensive repair work per the manager. Something for the staff to look into before giving out the rooms to guests. The room also had very less electrical wall sockets which made charging phones very difficult. The location of the hotel is also a bit of a con as it’s within a residential colony and getting public transportation is difficult. Ola and uber drivers would often cancel the trip.
Overall a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful stay in Delhi.

We had a 12 hour layover between several long flights so we checked in her in the middle of the night to get some sleep and have breakfast before shuttling back to the airport. Superb property with, unfortunately, 2 big negativ

The property is lovely. It has 2 negatives. First, no bar. If you wish to have a drink with your meal, you have to have your meal served in your room and use the room service. Unfortunately, this was not advertised on the booking site. Second, the hotel is in a lovely area of Friends' Colony. However, it seems to be very difficult for Uber drivers to find. 50% of all my Uber rides were cancelled by the drivers as they were unable to find the hotel. Other than that, it was superb.

The location was fantastic. Close enough to get to interesting parts of town within 30 min by Tuk tuk and far enough away from hustle and bustle. It was in a very safe neighborhood with security. The staff were amazing, so friendly and trying to help in every way. The rooms were incredibly comfortable. There is an underground train that you can feel in the early mornings, but also, you’re in Delhi, it’s never going to be complete silence. Food was delicious although definitely the higher end prices as you would expect in a hotel.

Amazing stay!

Our stay at The Manor was amazing! Service was impeccable, staff always attentive to our needs and always went out of their way to ensure we are comfortable and settled. Our first room had a faulty shower head, and almost immediately we got an upgrade to their signature suite which was top notch. The original deluxe room we had could have had a bit of refurbishment, as the it felt a bit dark and it did not seem as comfortable as their other suites. Breakfast was delicious. Location is a bit of a distance in a nice neighbourhood (20-30 mins on Uber to sights) but we very much appreciated the quiet surroundings after a day being out and about in Delhi. Thank you very much to the team who was at hand during our stay and we will no doubt book here again for our next visit!

This is one of the most elegant properties I have been to in India. Actually, the most elegant. It is exquisitely designed, with an understated elegance that sets it apart from its competitors. I felt like I was living inside an Elle Decor feature! The natural stones used throughout the hotel are magnificent. The property is surrounded by a beautiful garden, the food was excellent, and the staff polite and charming. Highly recommend! (P.S. The Manor is in a quiet residential neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I appreciated that, but some may not).

We booked the Manor Room through Expedia and did have a little trouble initially. The photos of the rooms on the site are not the same as at the hotel. Apparently not all Manor Rooms have the bathtub as advertised on Expedia . That was the whole reason we booked the room to begin with, as after a long voyage through India we were looking forward to some nice bubblebaths and relaxation. After a bit of back and forth, I was able to secure the room I wanted, though only after being offered an upgrade instead. I did have to contact Expedia to help rectify the situation.

However, after all of that, I was pleased to stay at the hotel. The grounds are fabulous and comfortable. Really well designed hotel. The spa is surprising. What a great facility, and they comped us both a free head massage. There's a fabulous gym with group classes and personal instructors available. The restaurant is exquisite. We tried the chef's tasting menu on our first night and were blown away. It's not something I'd suggest for every night, because something that special might lose its magic if done too often. The neighborhood is residential, so there are no other restaurants in the general area. But we were really happy with the service and all the attention. I'll definitely be returning.

Our three children and we stayed for 4 days The staff was credibly helpful and very knowledgeable. It was our first trip to India and they helped us fill our calendar by providing recommendations on sites to visit. The hotel's restaurant had a very good breakfast and, unbeknownst to us, was the number one rated restaurant in Delhi for dinner. We loved the experience!

My girlfriend and I were only in New Delhi for two nights before heading back to USA after a very exciting, but tiring travels around Thailand and we were looking for something laid back and comforting. The Manor was just what we were looking for and so much more. Super chic, stylish and in a peaceful and serene neighborhood - our stay was a perfect combination of luxury hospitality and the hotel staff couldn't of made our stay more pleasant. The food at Indian Accent was five star and they were able to adjust dishes., and even make new ones to fit our vegan lifestyle!

On way back from our road trip to Jaipur & Agra we decided to spoil ourselves and spend 2 nights at The Manor. We had read rave reviews about the place. Our impression was it was a chic modern boutique hotel. Nicely furnished except for little details that were not quite up to standard. 1. In shower room there should be a hand rail for older guests as a precaution. With such high rates wifi should be complimentary. The noise from the train station was tolerable & I don't think it intrude on our sleep. The highlight Vegas of course the meal at the Indian Accent restaurant. The chef's tasting menu was delicious. I would recommend the hotel to others but be warned if you need to be somewhere Central & easy to move around this is not the place.

It's hard to write a review about this hotel. Subjectively, the hotel itself was lovely - a great retreat, beautiful comfortable room and delicious food. However there were a few things that let it down. The first being the spa. We had booked the Manor specifically as it had a spa and we were looking forward to a relaxing stay at the end of a 9 day hectic tour of India. When we arrived however, we were told that the sold worker of the spa was ill and so it was shut. So disappointing. We did ask the concierge to find us another spa, and to his credit he sent us to the most amazing Spa I have ever been too, so this did make up for the initial disappointment. The second let down was that they charged for Wi-Fi! I found this staggering considering the cost of the rooms, particularly when we had stayed in much cheaper hotels throughout our visit, all of which had free wi-fi. And the third let down was that the power kept cutting off (again, something we had not experienced in the cheaper hotels). Despite all of this however, the room was beautiful and spotless and they did provide us with a lot of free bottled water, which in India is always a great thing!

On your way through Delhi for a couple of days and want a place out of the noise to rest up and maybe do a little work? This is a treasure, some of the best food (literally) in Delhi and quiet lovely rooms in a special place with a garden, a bar and a fantastic spa.

Highly trained and sophisticated staff that are delightful as well, smart, friendly and helpful. I took these rooms on a chance and stayed over a week. More importantly, my husband and I will absolutely go back again.
