A quick 2 night stay… a lot of travel for just a bit of quiet and peace… we wish we just would have stayed at Uluwatu as although a bit busier there, many beaches are a bit harsh to get into the water because of the sharp reef and rocks …

What a beautiful place! If you are looking for a place to escape then this is for you. We went on fresh fish night at the restaurant and had an amazing fresh seafood meal on the beach, for a great price too!

However the hotel is located on the opposite side of the port, (I didn’t want to support to horse rides) so it was quite a far walk to the hotel. They do have pick up from gili t but it’s an INSANE mark up price.
Also the staff kept asking why we were only staying one night and why we’re not staying longer.. felt a little pushy

Absolute paradise

If you’re considering a trip to Gili Meno to stay here, then book it immediately. This place is incredible. I travelled alone (not many solo travellers) but everyone was so friendly and made me feel so welcome. There’s not much to do on Meno, and that’s the whole point. It’s so relaxing. The hotel is perfectly placed, I saw turtles everyday from snorkelling right outside the hotel.
The food is excellent, I got an early check in which was brilliant and a late checkout too. Genuinely one of the best parts of my trip to Bali.

My wife and I came here for our 4th wedding anniversary. The quiet island and attentive staff made it a wonderful experience. We felt like we had the island to ourselves and when we wanted to explore, the staff quicky booked us speedboats to the other nearby islands. We also had the chance to go snorkeling in blissful aqua marine water to an underwater statue garden. For anyone wanting a unique and tranquil experience, we highly suggest the Mahamaya.

Trip was amazing. Hotel is very nice, has wonderful staff, super clean and beautiful views. The sand is a little rough though- only down size. bring water shoes for more comfort. The sand has many little rocks in it but is worth still going. We used snorkel masks and was able to swim right from the resort, we saw amazing fish and even a turtle. Wi-Fi was very spotty so don't plan on getting an major work done while there. ( also no TV)
Over all this place is beautiful and worth visiting. Staff were fantastic and super nice.

This resort is tucked away on a very quiet stretch of white sand on the best snorkelling beach on the island. Mahamaya manages to combine barefoot simplicity with luxurious service, food and amenities. We stayed in a beachfront villa with wonderful views. Even when the resort was full, the beach front always seemed empty and there were always sunbeds, hammocks, tables and shaded beds available. We were always the only ones in the pool. There was always equipment available (kayaks, snorkelling, bikes) and staff available to assist with activities. The food here was wonderful. A combination of local and global food options are cooked beautifully and the breakfasts were spectacular. I love the sustainability of this resort. It is a plastic free resort and staff members encourage guests to take care when using precious natural resources.

Honeymoon stay

We were wowed by our experience at Mahamaya from the second we got to the entrance. The staff were excellent and offered us a nice cold drink. We went past the two pools right outside of our room and we were greeted by a nice welcoming honeymoon arrangement and cake. The staff were so attentive and told us what we could do in the resort (including free snorkel gear and rental of the hotel bikes to ride around the island) and on the island.

The rooms were perfect and spotless. They are cleaned several times a day. We would go to eat dinner and come back and our room would be cleaned again for example. They provided fresh bottled water everyday and mosquito repellent. It was very easy to book a reservation in the restaurant.

Everything was just done perfectly and we hope to stay there again very soon. We would like to thank Bastian and all the staff for their service.

Relaxing island getaway

We stayed in a pool room at Mahamaya for four nights. The room was spacious and comfortable and the outdoor shower a really different touch.

The hotel provide free drinking water along with metal flasks for you to fill to take with you during the day, which is fantastic. It is located on the quieter side of the island, facing Gili T, but you don't really notice the noise from Gili T at night.

We saw turtles every morning when snorkeling straight out in front of the hotel. The hotel provides free equipment for guests, as well as bikes so that you can ride around the island.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good - they offer waffles, pancakes and eggs cooked to order.

We had dinner a couple of times at their beachfront restaurant, and the food was delicious and the sunsets amazing.

We will be back!

The Mayhamaya hotel is a small quaint boutique hotel. the surroundings are clean and open. The colors of off white, brown and turquoise mix well with the environment. The staff is well trained and very helpful. I found the rooms very clean, and impressed by the ethos of conservation used in the resort. Each room has a water cooler. This eliminates the waste of plastic bottles. They give to a local children's organization with medical disabilities, and work hand in hand with the local education on the island.
The food is tastefully presented, and seasoned with just the right amount of spices. Portions are more than generous. The chef offered vegan, gluten free and other allergy free options. This was a bonus for me. (I am gluten intolerant) The mixed drinks are done with imported spirits. No worries about the local spirits being used.

Nicest hotel on Gili Meno

We have just returned from 3 nights at Mahamaya and I would throughly recommend staying here. It's right on a beautiful part of the beach and the accommodation is luxurious compared to the rest of the island we saw. The 2 pools are great if you want a change from the beach. They have bikes so you can cycle around the island, which takes no time at all. The food is really lovely here too - plus happy hour cocktails! What made this by far the best place we stayed at on our 10 day trip to Lombok/Gilis were the staff. Ari and his team are absolutely amazing, so hospitable and genuinely friendly. Nothing was too much and really cared we had a good experience. We were actually very sad to leave them all! Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone!!

Mahamaya - jewel of Gili Meno

We had a wonderful stay at Mahamaya. The staff was fantastic--they were super friendly and responsive to all of our needs. Our first room had a weak A/C and they quickly moved rooms for us so we were comfortable. The room was spacious, clean and the bathroom was awesome--especially the shower! The bar/restaurant service was top-notch. We intended to explore the island for meals, but ended up staying at the hotel for many meals because it was just so good. The beach in front of the hotel is fantastic. While the beach does have rocks/coral, we were just feet from great snorkeling. We saw snorkel tour boats anchor right in front of the hotel. We also rented kayaks and bikes from the hotel, both of which were easy to rent and fantastic to use to explore the island. We loved staying on the opposite side of the island from the pier -- we had a great view of Gili T. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging our transport back to Lombok. We had SUCH a great time and hope to be back to visit soon!

I have been lucky enough to do a fair bit of traveling, and can honestly say that I have never stayed in any hotel where the staff was so friendly and accommodating. By the time my family left after a week's stay, we felt as though we were saying goodbye to friends. So while Gili Meno is wonderful and the property is lovely, I endorse the Mahamaya most strongly for its warm and genuine people.

Perfect hotel on the perfect island!

Perfect location for a week of tranquillity. The staff could not do enough to help us, and the weather was amazing (June - 31/32c) We stayed in \"SWEET 8\" which was next to the gym and the table tennis table. The 2 pools were great to cool off after an afternoon of sunbathing, and we used the bikes that the hotel laid on to explore the island. I'd recommend exploring as much as possible, and having dinner at other local establishments (food at MahaMaya was great, but quite high price compared to other places). The hotel were also able to arrange a pick up from Gili T on arrival, and a speedboat to take us to Lombok when we left, followed by a private car to take us to our next hotel. I'd recommend the snorkelling trip that the hotel can organise, as it allowed you to go out to well known spots, and swim with turtles etc.

Beautiful hotel, perfect side of the island!!!

We had been in Indonesia for a week before we came to gili meno and stayed at mahamaya. It was the best sleep we've had by far. It was quiet, clean, perfect side of the island, amazingly helpful and friendly staff, very local food, good food at mahamaya itself. Cold free bottled water from our room. I can't praise it enough. We felt like royalty the whole stay. There was also enough to do on the island for us, snorkeling, walking etc but it was mainly time to relax and enjoy the sunsets.

My partner and I went on a week's holiday to Bali and decided to spend 2 x nights on Gili Meno while we were there. We were dropped off by boat right outside the resort. The setting is magnigicent - white sand with an outdoor dining area on the beachfront looking out to clear aqua water. My partner proposed to me on the beach on our second morning at the resort and the day couldn't have been more perfect. We ended the day with dinner and champagne watching the sunset over Gili T (the largest Gili island). The staff were friendly and nothing was too much to ask. The service was excellent. The two pools with the pool bar in between was an extra bonus. The perfect place to relax.

Beautiful, romantic hotel with excellent service

A lovely hotel right on the beach with lovely well equipped spacious rooms. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food is great and the setting is wonderfully romantic. The place has a luxurious feel but also tries to be respectful of the environmental impact. The pool is small but adequate given the beach is right on your door step and although its a great spot for couples it can easily cater to families.
I say go for it and enjoy!

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Mahamaya in early January this year, in one of their two beach rooms, and loved every minute..... The staff were unbelievably friendly and professional; the food amazingly good, varied and world-class; and the room large and very comfortable, right on the sand with our own chairs and loungers. Plus we had a water dispenser in our bathroom which meant we could drink as much fresh water as we wanted without having to pay for it, and without helping to ruin the environment or island by buying plastic bottles. Snorkeling right off the beach was a real treat, the fish were abundant and we even swam with a turtle! Sunset cocktails on the sand under fairy lights ended each day. What more can I say? Stay here!

Relax in Gili Meno

We stayed only two nights. Gili Meno is the quietest island and very beautiful. The hotel is in the opposite side of the port, so you'll have to take a cart to get to the hotel, or walk a little. I would recommend to take direct fast ship directly from Bali or Lombok, is expensive, but it saves a lot of time.
The spot is very beautiful, looking towards Trawangan. You can have dinner at the beach, under a palm tree, very romantic!
The food is excellent, we personally thanked the chef. The menu changes everyday and it's really something unexpected.
The hotel is very new and with a modern style, the nicest in Gili Meno. The rooms are very spacious and high. The open air shower is super cool. Rooms have no tv (we don't need it there).
The staff is very warm and friendly.
We will definitely come back!

A four day stay in November was so relaxing. The location is like something out of a movie, a small island with our room right on the beach in front of the Indian Ocean. The hotel is small and very quaint. The food was great, dining under the stars on the beach was so lovely and romantic. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay one to remember. The snorkelling right in front of hotel was awesome, just beware of the coral beach , water shoes are highly recommended Hopefully one day we will be able to return.

We loved rvery minute at Mahamaya. The location is beautiful, with some of the best snorkelling in the region right in front of the hotel sunloungers. The staff at Mahamaya are excellent. They're so friendly and welcoming, and definitely don't give off the impression that they're jaded by tourism like staff we encountered at other hotels in the Gilis. The food is good, especially breakfast. I am pregnant, and they took extra special care of me, with one waiter even taking it upon himself to make a special sign for the kitchen to make sure my eggs were cooked 'well done' each morning. The rooms include some nice touches, including sunhats and a canteen to take on daytrips, and a purified water dispenser so you don't have to keep buying bottled water. This is a perfect place for a romantic getaway. Love love loved it.

This was one of the best places i have stayed at. I find it hard to unwind and relax but after being here for just a day i was more than chilled!
The hotel is very high spec, probably the best on the island and obviously the price reflects this. But if you go to Gili Meno then you HAVE to stay here. The staff were amazing, nothing was to much and made our stay a memorable one too. We will be back.

Relaxing and Pampered

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, relax, and not have a care in the world, Mahamaya is it. A well laid out room, private outdoor shower, a pool to lay out by, another with a swim up bar, lounge chairs on a beautiful beach, excellent food and drinks, mixed with a courteous and attentive staff make this resort phenominal. Everyone on the staff went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and wanted for nothing. For example, I misread the daily lunch special, and ordered it as a chicken dish instead of pork. The staff and chef didn't bat an eye, modified half the dish, and served the \"daily special\" with chicken. It was delicious. The attention of the staff made us feel pampered without hovering or crowding. The island of Gili Meno was not crowded and had no scooters or cars so it was very quiet. Snorkling was amazing. I went right in front of the resort every morning. I saw sea turtles every time, a few rays, lion fish, squid, and innumerable fish species without going more than a hundred yards from the resort.

We loved the relative peace of Gili Meno as soon as we arrived, MILES better than Gili T. The hotel was immaculate and the service was the best we encountered during our time in Indo - friendly and more prompt than anywhere else. The room was pleasant although it wouldn't hurt to have a TV. The pool could be a tiny bit better but hard to complain when located very neatly on a beautiful beach with nice seating for hotel guests. We loved our time at MahaMaya and it would be the first place we go if heading back to Indo.

Would rate 6 out of 5 if I could. Amazing.

Before booking, we read some reviews where people had stayed for 2 or 3 nights, and wished they stayed for longer. So we booked a whole week.

Wow. This hotel is like nothing else. It's in a quiet corner, on the quiet side of a quiet island. Just perfect to get away from it all. They don't even have a TV, which couldn't be better!

Some have said that there is not much to do on the island. They must be joking. We spent 6 days snorkelling and drinking cocktails on the beach. That's plently of activities, what more do you need?

Rooms are large and very clean. The outdoor shower is genius, water cooler in the room is a fantastic idea, and the staff are the most friendly we have ever encountered on our travels.

Big thanks to Ricky and Brown for making us feel so welcome in the restaurant, and for always having a smile on your face. The food is obviously excellent, and eating it in a beach gazebo while watching the sunset cannot be beaten.

Other highlights include Hawksbill turtles on the reef in front of the hotel, free bikes to tour the island, and a superb boat/taxi transfer from their beach to Lombok airport.

The maha maya is simply a dream. It sits on a beautiful beach on an amazing island. The people working there are so nice. We stayed for two days because they were full but came back for dinner another 2 nights after that. All of the team came out and welcomed us again. I can't possibly say enough good things about this hotel. The kids loved the snorkeling and the kayakes and the team.

Ideal for my needs

This was an urgent trip for me so I really appreciated all the extra arrangements that were made on my behalf such as booking flights to Lombok, car and driver from airport to harbor and a speed boat from there to the hotel beach. The food was excellent and I felt safe with water and food supplies at the hotel. Wonderful staff and management. Can't complain!

The hotel is beautifully located right at the beach which makes the breakfasts and dinners spectacular! The staff at Mahamaya are the friendliest you will ever find. They take care of every little detail. The snorkeling outside the hotel is beautiful and probably the best place on the island.

A place to relax

We had heard the Gili Islands are the equivilant of the Maldives. Although we wouldn't say that, Gili Meno is a small slice of secluded beauty. I think this was enhanced by the great staff at MahaMaya. When we arrived I hadn't been well & the lady at reception offered me additional assistance, as well as having ginger tea brought to the room. Small touches like this made for a warm welcome. In every way they could they engaged with us & took care of any requests. We stayed two nights & probably couldn't have stayed much longer as there isn't much to do & we were probably looking for more variety, but in no way is that a reflection on the hotel. In terms of quality, the rooms are comfortable & clean & luxurious for the scale & progression of the island. All in all a beautiful spot & good experience.

A wonderful time and a life time memory.

We arrive at the hotel earlier than the scheduled check in time. The staff made no issue about it. They attended to us and check us in almost immediately. Our room was clean and cooling. The price for the room is also resaonable. We went there to have a time away from everything and just to spent quality time together. The fresh water pool is at our door step and every room though its located next to each other, has it owns privacy.
We were showering under the sky as it's open ceiling shower.
The staff made my stay even better when they prepared a birthday cake and celebrated my birthday together with me.
The food at the hotel is 5 star and fresh. Even though the island is isolated, the chef manage to deliver top quality food every time.

My wife was very delightful with the place and hotel. She was a little apprehensive about travelling with me to a desolated place. I'm glad MAHAMAYA made her very very comfortable. This will help me a lot in planning ffor my next travel destination now that she has confidence in my taste of hotel and travel destination.
Thank you EVERYONE at MAHAMAYA.

Nous avons passé 9 nuits au sein du Mahamaya Hotel.
La vue depuis la plage de l'hôtel est exceptionnelle, 5 minutes de snorkeling suffisent pour croiser de magnifiques tortues sans guide nécessaire : c'est la meilleure plage de l'île.
Petit-déjeuner très complet, de qualité, varié qui satisfait tous les goût.
Personnel toujours gentil, arrangeant et serviable. Ils ont su répondre à toutes nos requêtes.
La chambre est spacieuse, litterie de bonne qualité, salle de bain en plein air très agréable.
Le restaurant de l'hotel est varié avec un menu journalier et très bon.
Merci à Isnan, Purna, Lia, Nita et Rama pour leur gentillesse, leurs sourires et leur accueil.
On reviendra

Nettes Hotel am Strand. Die Zimmer sind um zwei Pools angeordnet und sehr groß. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, ebenso das weitere Angebot im Restaurant, wenn auch in gehobener Preisklasse.
Es gibt Liegen am Strand und die Schildkröten sind immer in der Nähe. Das führt leider dazu, dass ab 8 Uhr hunderte Boote in Strandnähe rumfahren und Schnorchler abwerfen. Das ist laut, gefährlich und stinkt bei Westwind.
In der Nähe gibt es zahlreiche nette Bars und Restaurants.

Relaxing & Amazing Location

Perfect location for snorkeling, with lots of sea turtles in front of the hotel. You can literally spot turtles bobbing up for air from the sun loungers, and the staff member who helped with the free snorkel equipment or canoes was also very helpful in spotting them.
We had a lovely 4-night stay in big and well-maintained rooms. The only hiccup was that one afternoon they decided to move a switch from the entrance to near the beds and had to refill a hole in the wall with some hastily applied, strong-smelling epoxy near our bed pillows! They tried to cover the smell with some incense sticks, but it was most likely not that healthy to sleep nearby.
It might not be fair to mention specific names as all the staff were really lovely and helpful, but we need to mention “Dani” who provided extraordinary service. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and happy hour, as well as one evening with a fresh fish BBQ.
The two pools in the middle were great when the tide made it a little tricky to avoid risking damage to the corals.
Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here if we ever return to Gili Meno.

Siamo stati molto bene al Mahmaya, molto pulito, il cibo buono, lo staff molto gentile ed accogliente. È posizionato sulla costa e ha la spiaggia privata il che lo rende perfetto per rilassarsi e fare snorkeling, è anche molto vicino al bask nest, la maggiore attrazione dell'isola insieme alle tartarughe e ne abbiamo viste più di una. Danno a disposizione gratuitamente anche bici, kayak, maschere e pinne, insomma eccezionali. Se ci dovesse essere mare mosso c'è anche la piscina riparata

Fantastisk ophold på et familievenligt hotel. Rigtig fint værelse på en super beliggenhed med lækker mad og god betjening(personalet er meget serviceminded og kan hjælpe med booking af diverse både, ridning, pickup med speeebåd etc.). Mulighed for at snorkle direkte fra stranden og med kig til skildpadder hver dag.

Vi havde to dejlige nætter på vores pigetur til Gili-øerne, lige ud for hotellet i vanden er der havskildpadder og tusindvis af farverige fisk. Hotellet har masker og snorkler liggende klar til fri afbenyttelse. Personalet var yderst serviceminded. Dette hotel var også det med den bedste mad på vores rejse.

L'hotel mahamaya Gili Meno est très bien placé face a la plage, avec deux belles piscines au pied des chambres, la restauration est bien, les petits déjeuners également, on est a deux pas pour des spots de snorkeling avec des tortues et des statues au fond de l'eau. Le personnel est très agréable, je le recommande.

Ankom til dette dejlige sted- Blev sejlet ind på stranden, foran hotellet-hvor personalet modtog os i strandkanten.
Hyggeligt hotel, med dejlig afslappet atmosfære, og sødt personale.
Dejlige værelser, med alt hvad man har brug for- især koldtvandsbeholderen, samt udendørs bad.
Total stilhed og alligevel muligheder for mange oplevelser, bla. Snorkletur, flotte fisk, skildpadder, koraller m.M
Transportmidler -hestevogne og cykler😊
Kan helt klat anbefale dette hotel, som ligger på stranden. TAK.

Beste service og beliggenhet på øya

Hadde ett supert opphold på dette hotellet. Det ligger fint til ned mot stranda. (Husk badesko da det er mye koraler der.). Svært servicevennlig personale som gjør alt for at du skal trives. Maten var svært bra. Flott med gratis utlån av kajakk, dykkebriller, svømmeføtter og sykkel. Veldig fint rundt hotellet men øya trenger oppgradering etter jordskjelvet i 2018. Stille og fredelig øy, ikke noe særlig handlemuligheter på øya.

Illallinen merenrannalla kynttilöiden loisteessa. Ruoka oli maukasta ja keliaakikon unelma paikka, kaikki gluteenittomat ruoat oli merkitty selkeästi. A fantastic resort, the kitchen is top notch. The location is also top notch. Snorkelling directly from the beach, saw both turtles, rockets, beautiful colored fish of all sizes. The resort is beautifully rebuilt and does not carry the earthquake. Can really be recommended we were there for 5 days which was appropriate time.
