Because of the photos online, we had high expectations for this hotel.

What we found was a well kept exterior and design concept but rooms with very dated interior that lacked basic maintenance and upkeep.

Our family had a total of three rooms in what appears like the facility's keep or tower.

Our room had the following (believe it was 221 - first door at top of stairs):

• Worn/Filthy/Stained Carpet
• Peeling/Stained Wallpaper
• Rotted Baseboards/Trim
(See Photos)

Note: Family told us their rooms were not much better.

Another issue was that our bed which was two twins pushed together kept separating because it was on wheels, not stationary like most are when in this configuration.

Although an adequately maintained room would not have been unreasonable at the hotel's rate $182 (this amount did not including parking), it was certainly a waste for the condition of the room.

Please know there is not valet or bellman and you may need to take two elevators to get to your second story room.

Not everything was bad, highlights were the restaurant/room service staff which were kind, knowledgeable, and prompt. Food was very good!

First impression of the hotel is wonderful. Lovely garden and lobby. Staff were nice.
Rooms are not so nice. Small, very warm, I had the AC on full the entire time.The rooms are in much need of some attention. Lots of chipped paint. The blind was broken for our 4 night stay despite our room being serviced every day. No water in the room. No tea or coffee facilities for guests. €14 a night to use the car park. ( it was €12 when i booked)
The gym was €5 each.
When you're paying £164 a night room only I feel it was way over priced for the service they provided.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel and there were a number of positives but the overbearing issue was there was a wedding reception which meant every element of the hotel facilities were overstretched so impossible to get service in the lounge, no outdoor seating and secure parking full.

9 of us had a 2 night break at this wonderfully amazing hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, the service superb and the restaurant food varied and 1st class.

The gym was comprehensive and equipment brand new. The spa facilities were also fabulous.

We will definitely be back but next time for a much longer stay.

Lovely period hotel with great facilities

I stayed on an overnight stop over, en route to Portugal so didn't get to experience the local area. The hotel was very comfortable, great gym, convenient parking and wonderful breakfast. Staff were great but bar food service was very slow. Got fed up waiting to be served. As I was tired from an 11 hour drive, I couldn't wait and skipped the meal and want to bed. The breakfast made up for it though.

The hotel was a wonderful period property in a fairly residential area. I cannot fault the room or the hotel staff in general. One word of warning, everything is extra, l.e. Parking 12€. (No off-street parking available so you must use car park) Swimming pool 10€ and the Gym 5€.

This is a nice Hotel in a great little city. But their WiFi is basically nonexistent. It’s two minutes then five minutes off.

The rooms are modern clean and well presented the hotel is well located for Durango and surrounding areas.

Swimming pool is lovely and big with comfortable lounges next to it however we were not allowed to swim in it before the lifeguard arrived at 12!

Sadly there were no in room drinks facilites of tea or coffee. The mini bar had 2 very small bottles of complimentary water that were not replaced for our second night stay.

Breakfast buffet priced 12euro pp had a poor selection of warm breakfast items. Although we arrived at 9.50 (we were told it ended at 10.30) items were not restocked.

Super schönes Hotel in einer schönen kleinen Stadt. Das Gebäude ist schon wunderschön anzusehen. Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, mit einem großen Bett und angenehmen und komfortablen Kissen. Das Bad ist sehr groß mit Badewanne ausgestattet. Der Pool ist klein aber völlig ausreichend und schön gestaltet mit Pflanzen und Liegen. Am Pool gibt es eine Bar mit lecker essen bis spät abends. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich, es gibt eine ordentliche Auswahl und viele unterschiedliche Kaffeesorten. Ich werde wiederkommen.

J’ai passé un très bon séjour dans cet hôtel.
Pour commencer, il jouit d’une position idéale au sein des Pays Basques, la ville est à environ une heure de trajet pour se rendre dans différents endroits à visiter : Guernica, Playa de Laga, Monte Gorbeia, Vittoria-Gasteiz, San Sebastian, Bilbao…
En ce qui concerne les services de l’hôtel, le petit-déjeuner est exceptionnel, je le recommande vivement, la seule critique que je puisse formuler est que les fruits ne soient pas forcément de saison et qu’ils ne soient pas assez mûrs. En ce qui concerne le parking, le spa et la salle de sport, je ne les ai pas essayés, le prix du SPA ne nous a pas trop motivé (18€ par personne) et le parking est gratuit dans la rue. La piscine est agréable quoique peu profonde (1.25 m), en revanche il manquait quelques chaises-longues au bord, mais les linges de bains sont fournis par l’hôtel!
La chambre était spacieuse et confortable, quoique le duvet était un peu trop chaud. Le service de nettoyage impeccable, j’ai toutefois été un peu gêné qu’il n’y ait pas de brosse pour les WC.
La seule chose qui m’ait vraiment déçu est le restaurant de l’hôtel, j’y ai mangé une fois un burger au poulet que j’ai regretté. Ils proposent une recette qui s’éloigne trop de l’essence du burger. La salade prenait trop le dessus sur le goût du burger. Pas assez de sauce, qui n’était pas à mon goût, ni de fromage. Pain inadapté. Frites molles, pas assez cuites servies dansun sachet papier surune assiette le creuset ?

The hotel is centrally located in 10 minutes walking distance to the old town of Durango. We have booked a comfort room. The room was large, equipped with a king size bed, sitting area, fridge, kettle etc. The internet connection in room #124 was reliable.
The breakfast was of good quality. There is a very limited choice of restaurants nearby, so I had diner in the hotel restaurant. The steak was of excellent quality,
Parking was included in the special rate offered by hotel.com if not charged at 15.- €. Street parking is difficult to find. .
On the negative side, there are many stairs to manoeuvre when accessing the hotel. The access to the fitness area is chargeable.

Globalement hôtel bien, chambre confortable mais personnel pas très agréable.
En revanche nous avons passé une mauvaise nuit dérangés un groupe de personne à moitié ivre qui est rentré à 1 h 30 du matin en hurlant dans les couloirs et en chantant. le lendemain l’hôtel ne s’est même pas excusé ni à fait un geste commercial.

Entgegen der Hotelbeschreibung bei Buchung war der Pool geschlossen - trotz 28 Grad. Die Hotelbereiche aussen konnten wegen einer Feier mit lauter Musik nicht genutzt werden. Das Zimmer war ein dunkles Loch. Ich wollte sofort abreisen, doch das Management verweigere das.

Le restaurant était en dessous de toute attente. Froid et pas frais, le serveur gêné a eu la politesse de ne pas facturer mon repas après avoir constater l’erreur de la cuisine.

This hotel is more like a 3-star hotel as it seems to have quite a few years on the neck. The room was extremely scented, which makes you wonder what smell are they trying to hide. Moreover, the fact that the gym costs to use is very strange. This hotel is to consider if you're exploring the Basque country by car and need somewhere convenient and relative cheap to sleep.

Had a two night stay here for business purpose. Nice central location yet easy to access from the main roads. Friendly and helpful staff, decent pricing and practical parking in the underground under the hotel. The restaurant was OK but very pricy for the food served (I must admit I only ate there on monday, which is a \"closed\" day in Basque area / Spain, maybe the chef was off.) Go eat in one of the small bodegas or bars nearby instead. Breakfast was good. I'll come back to this hotel another time.

Hotel qui ne vaut malheureusement pas ses étoiles...il a fallu insister pour avoir la chambre car elle n'allait pas etre disponible dans le créneau où le check-in était autorisé, le sèche cheveux est réparé avec du scotch, on a une vue sur un mur en béton et on ne peut pas dire que le personnel à l'accueil soit des plus serviables

Mooi hotel met lekker zwembad. Goed eten. Prima om van hier uit Bilbao en San Sebastián te bezoeken. Dorpje zelf heeft weinig eetgelegenheden dus dat doe je het beste in het hotel (terras)

Dejligt lille hotel

Super dejligt hotel, dejlige værelser. Rolig beliggenhed. Skøn have med en hyggelig lille swimmingpool. Ikke den store madoplevelse i restauranten.

Très mauvaise insonorisation !!

L’insonorisation est le gros point noir de cet hôtel, par ailleurs assez agréable : une superbe terrasse, de grands espaces pour le restaurant et la partie petit déjeuner, un parking sur place.
Les chambres sont un peu vieillottes mais ça passe.
Non le pire est l’absence totale d’insonorisation !
J’ai demandé à changer de chambre car j’entendais ma voisine de chambre comme si elle était dans la mienne !! Bref c’est vraiment dommage et je l’ai dit en partant car cela gâche tout et ne me fera pas revenir, en tout cas pas pour la partie hôtel

Buen hotel. Mejor algo más barato.

Hotel confortable y limpio, la habitación algo pequeña para el precio. Personal muy amable. Recomendable coger SPA.
