Great location and building however several minor issues culminated in irritation and disappointment.. no plugs in sinks, batteries low in Tv control ,kettle and mugs but no spoons tea sugar not replaced.Last morning a lot of breakfast choices not available. No croissants lady staff member very rude..Hard to comment on staff 2 in breakfast. No real interaction with us at reception

Sadly, an underwhelming experience

We had a 3 night stay and booked 2 rooms - 1 for my wife and I, and another for our 2 teenage boys. The Hotel as expected had a nice old world feel to it and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good, continuously replenished and offered plenty of choice. The pool was a welcome benefit given the heat of the August sun.

Alas problems with the showers in both rooms and the poor service to get them repaired is what leaves us underwhelmed by our stay.

We arrived late on the first night and the next morning found our shower to be completely non-functional. The shower in the boys room, worked but would not stay in place so had to be held in your hand while you showered. The first morning we all had to endure this ritual. We reported the issues to reception that morning. On our return in the late afternoon, no action had been taken and we again reported it before leaving for dinner. Arriving back we found that the problems still not had been addressed and we made do with the broken fixture in the boy's room once more. The issues were finally resolved only after our second day.

Faults happen and repairs are a common thing in hotels, however it was the slowness to respond, the fact that we received no acknowldgement of the delays or an apology on leaving that really spoiled this stay for us. Unfortunately providing 2 rooms in poor state of repair then taking 2 days to react and repair is not what one would expect from what claims to be a 4 star hotel.

Pleasant in Lecce

This is not a Grand hotel in the sense of the Danieli or Excelsior, however, that is probably because they choose not to have a restaurant, even though they put out a sumptuous breakfast and have a commercial kitchen and plenty of staff. Our room had filthy old green carpeting, but we noticed in the long hallway that some rooms have modern wood flooring, which is much more sanitary I don't know why we weren't given the upgrade since we are hotel gold members. The only other issue was the parking which we tried to reserve well in advance, but was unavailable, which was disappointing since we have a brand new Mercedes-Benz . The staff was very pleasant and the bathroom was spacious and had the best shower of our trip. Overall, it was good value for the money and it's probably one of the better hotels in Lecce.

Excellent hotel. Right by the railway station but only about five/six minutes’ walk to the Centro Storico. Very quiet. Big and spacious rooms. Staff very polite and helpful. Big selection for breakfast. Pool and seating area outside ideal for a swim or just to sit and read. Absolutely recommended.

The hotel desperately needs renovation. It’s got nothing to do with the photos they use on their page. (bathroom was renovated though). The carpets on the corridors are extremely outdated and stinky. Number of staff is inadequate although they’re nice and helpful.

The Hotel is in poor conditions. Torn and stained carpets, inroom refrigerator didn't work, AC didn't work, slow/clogged drains, bad coffee. Hard to find parking. (Reserve with anticipation).

On the plus side... the \"hotel\" is about a 7 minute walk to the old city entrance. Area feels safe.
It is also a block away from Lecce's train station.
Therefore it has a great location, but the hotel is far from 4 stars.

There is no doubt that the hotel used to be beautiful. While the room was clean, the hallways leading to the rooms are completely run down and dirty. Many of the hallway sensor lights don’t work so you are walking down very long dark hallways to get to your room. This is fine during the day but it is very very dark at night. I asked the front desk for 2 glasses and they were unable to give me anything to pour my wine into. Wifi did not work at all. Shower was great but had a leak and created a massive pool of water all over the bathroom floor.

Checking with Hotel.com, the hotel was supposed to have an onsite parking. Upon arrival we were told all parking spots were taken, so we had to find a parking spot on the street. The hotel itself was very dated with dirty carpets. The shower door was missing and fridge was not working. There was a big step right by entrance, my hunand tripped over carrying the luggages and hurt his leg. The room had a very strong odor, smelling like Lysol. The bedding had a different strong perfumed smell which was not pleasant. On the plus side, the room was large with a large bathoom and closet and breakfast was really great.

Great hotel in need of a like love

Lovely hotel in need of a bit of love such as replacing the tired carpets. Pool nice area to relax in but not necessarily catch the sun as the tall buildings cast a shadow, which many are actually grateful for. Replacing the halogen bulbs in the bathroom would be good . Breakfast buffet ok. Coffee wise I’ve had in Italy. Surrounding area at present a bit of a construction site as it is being updated towards the station. Should look great when finished.

Average hotel that doesn’t meet expectations

I would say the hotel needs to update their photos or update their facilities, because the pictures aren’t an accurate representation of the premises. I would say that a primary motivator for many is the outdoor lounge/pool area, however this area is filthy, to the point of looking derelict, and the pool is closed. I can understand that the pool being closed could happen for many valid (Covid-related) reasons, this should be stated in advance and ‘pool’ should be removed from the listed facilities and photos. This being said there is no excuse for the pool are to be kept in such a mess, making the place unappealing to even sit at. Also, the ‘car park’ is a shed with space for 6 cars where you have to leave your car keys at the reception and have hotel staff move your car around as the only way of parking is to block others. The hotel said that if there is damage they would take responsibility, but I’d love to see how that would play out in reality.
This being said, it’s an inexpensive hotel, staff were fine, but just font get your hopes up.

Grand hotel is only a block away from the train station, and within walking distance to the city. There was plenty of parking in front of the hotel. The hotel has good WiFi and AC, which our kids really liked. Our only recommendation is breakfast, I would recommend that they include milk/cereal and a fruit instead of all packaged bread products.

Beautiful room and good location for the purpose of visiting a local restaurant. We had the deluxe room, great space but needs a little attention. There was a pole hanging from the wall which I think was supposed to secure the shower screen. The minibar was a little sparse, as in soft drinks only and my biggest problem was lack of coffee or tea making facilities in the room which is common in Southern Italy.

Only a few minutes from the station and 5 mins walk into the historic centre. Lovely hotel with outside breakfast area. Nice pool. Spacious hotel room with most facilities required and reasonable breakfast. Staff helpful and pleasant. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room although there was a coffee machine in the corridor.

Very nice traditional hotel, convenient short walk to all the local sights. Seconds from the station, safe parking available. First night we were in a very nice large room which unfortunately was noisy due to being next to the lift. The owner changed us to a slightly smaller but much quieter room the next morning with no issue at all. Breakfast was very good and staff were all very friendly. Only down side was the unavailability of the pool, which was a main reason for our choice. We were advised that it would not be in use until June and the temperature (touching 30 degrees) was unseasonably warm

beautiful Palatial Hotel next to main Railway Station in Lecce.. classical decor, marble floors, relaxing lounges on ground floor, bright welcoming breakfast room with open fire, great selection of delicious local, national and international food (hot and cold) and very professional and helpful staff both at reception and also in breakfast room. Bedroom was a single room with comfortable bed and all amenities and had huge marble bathroom with large shower. spotless and warm with windows which opened to back garden. quiet hotel in heart of city .. 5 star standards..

This was my 2nd time I've stayed at the hotel with my 10 year old son. He felt like a king as the room was magnificent. He was ill the first night and the staff were very helpful. A lovely man on reception gave us good advice about visiting Gallipoli via the train. The breakfast buffet was very varied and tasty. I would recommend this Hotel.

Several problems at the hotel!

Stayed for three nights. The air-conditioning in my first three rooms (I changed the room three times in first 24hrs!!) did not work. I heard similar complaints (AC not working in rooms) from other guests too. My fourth room had an AC that worked. I stayed in the room for two nights. It was +35C in Lecce outside during the daytime, so an AC in the room is a must. Other problems at the hotel were that the pool was filthy, very dirty water. Wi-fi was useless, it dropped you off in every 5-10mins and you had to do the login again. It was not the stay one would expect from a four star hotel. Very dissapointed! The only positiveness on the stay was that the staff were friendly, and I guess it's not their fault that so many aspects in the hotel simply did not function at all.

I stayed at 3 different 5 and 4 star hotels while in Lecce to review and experience as many as possible, had i not had a non refundable reservation i would have left after the first day

This was part of a 7 week trip all over Italy and London. In hotels I spent more than this hotel and far less I was treated more kindly than my stay here

Great choice centric hotel

The hotel is just one block from the train station which is a commodity. And also about 7 blocks from the center of the city. It is just remodelled, nicely done. The rooms are big and comfortable. The sheets and towels are good, for me that is a must. The breakfast is good and is near the pool which is nice. The personnel is very kind and helpful. Highly recommended. Price quality is perfect.

Very nice hotel half block from the train station.

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to the train station. I'm sure it's the closest one to the station. In that we took a very early train to Rome the next morning we could not experience the included breakfast. The breakfast room looked wonderful and looked out at the hotel pool. The only negative were some of the individuals that were walking the streets near the hotel which is to be expected near the train station. Hotel was an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. We would stay there again if we were traveling by train.

Old-world charm in historic Lecce

I spent three nights here on my own. The hotel is grand yet charming. It is a traditional old hotel. It only has 2 or 3 floors, but it covers a large site. My room was very large and furnished with impressive period furniture. The air conditioning was effective and easy to control. My only (minor) grumble about the room is that although there was a grand desk, it was inadequately lit which meant that it was very hard to read or write at it after nightfall. Although very near the station, it is a very quiet area and I was never disturbed by noise from the street (or from inside the hotel).

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, but English speakers should be aware that not all the desk staff speak English and there is about a fifty-fifty chance that there will be no-one on duty able to speak English at any given time, but I never found this to be a problem, despite my very poor Italian.

The breakfast buffet was good.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Grand. The first word that came to mind to describe the hotel was swish. The hotel staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The hotel is really close to the train station (which was grand after an 8 hour train ride), and only a short stroll to central Lecce.

Kävelymatka kaupungin tärkeimpiin nähtävyyksiin, vanhan kaupungin barokkiaarteisiin. Ainoa pieni miinus siitä, että aamiainen olisi voinut olla monipuolisempi.

Ein Grand Hotel, was die besten Zeiten leider schon hinter sich gebracht hat. Die Einrichtung ist sichtlich verwohnt und auch nicht mehr Zeitgemäß. Leider war auch das Personal an der Rezeption eher unfreundlich und schon Fast genervt wenn man mit einem Anliegen kam. insoweit würde ich dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen. Frühstück war ok aber da hatte ich mir von einem 4 Sterne Haus besseres erwartet-.Alles in allem leider enttäuschend.

Perfekt plassering i utkanten av gamlebyen

Grand Hotel di Lecce er et eldre 4stjerners hotell. Det har et visst luksuspreg, særlig i inngangsparti, lobby og flere salonger, samtidig som det har noe litt gammelmodig over seg. For meg var plasseringen perfekt. Jeg kom og reiste med tog og var på flere dagsturer under mitt 6 netters opphold. To minutter å gå til toget og ett minutt til lokalbuss. På få minutter når en også det fascinerende og flotte sentrum av gamlebyen. Innholdsrik og god frokost som kan inntas inne eller ute, under parasoller og store, flotte tre. Godt renhold. Jeg vil gjerne tilbake!

Buena opción en Lecce!

El personal en la recepción muy atento y amable. El hotel está en renovación y los pasillos son muy largos y oscuros, los muebles de las habitaciones son muy lindos y antiguos, combinan muy bien con el lugar. La alberca es amplia y los jardines agradables para pasar la tarde. La alfombra d ella habitación no estaba en excelente estado.

Déception pour cet hôtel avec fort potentiel, proche de la ville et avec un parking (à réserver).
Le cadre est certes vieillissant mais cet hôtel manque d’un réel entretien. Les moquettes sont tachées et très sales dans les parties communes, la robinetterie fonctionne mal et éviers bouchées et l’odeur dans la salle de bain est infecte. La climatisation ne fonctionne pas et le wifi de manière discontinue.
Le petit déjeuner est correct et le personnel du petit déjeuner souriant.
L’accueil est vraiment médiocre avec un réel manque d’accueil et d’empathie. On ne nous a même pas demandé comment était notre séjour au moment du check out ! Un comble pour une réception….
Nous ne reviendrons pas dans cet établissement.

Accueil très bien. Le réceptionniste parlait français donnant des bons adresses des restaurants. 10 minutes du centre. Chambre et salle de bain spacieuse. L’hôtel plus très jeune mais il y toujours des stucks au plafond, très joli.

Hotel muito bom

O hotel me surpreendeu positivamente! Vi muitos comentários falando que a manutenção não era boa, etc., mas achei as instalações, em geral, muito boas para o valor pago. Sim, o carpete, de fato, precisa de manutenção/ser trocado, mas, em geral, a estrutura é boa. Os funcionários da recepção e do café da manhã foram muito gentis, o quarto era amplo, confortável, tinha banheira e pantufas. As toalhas foram todas trocadas, a localização é perfeita (a poucos metros do centro de lecce), tem estacionamento público com bastante vaga na frente e o café da manhã é bem completo. Só tenho críticas em relação à equipe de camareiras: no dia de saída abriram a porta por duas vezes sem bater para ver se já tínhamos saído do quarto (na primeira delas às 9h quando ainda estávamos dormindo e na segunda às 10h30, antes do horário do checkout - que é às 11h). Foi desagradável e dá a sensação de que estão nos expulsando antes mesmo do horário de checkout. Mas achei um bom custo benefício e voltaria a me hospedar, apesar do incidente com as camareiras.
