Maintenace issue, such as plumbing and thre shower head ( there was a crack on the neck of the shower hose and the head was disassembled when I opened the water), stains on curtains and the bed spread...etc.
Great location, floor was clean, and the staff was good. The bed was firm and I liked it.

Great location and nice looking hotel and the staff were pleasant. The breakfast was served on the roof terrace but wasn't very exciting. The room was a good size with a skylight but was bright and airy. However there was some heavy rain and the ceiling leaked and there was water over the floor. When I mentioned this, I got the impression they blamed me!
The toiletries in the bathroom were very poor, just a couple of sachets (I bring my own so not an issue for me)
The minibar wasn't very well stocked and the bar didn't appear to be open.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room (I have been in lower starred hotels in Italy that provide much more)
Lastly I have never seen a hotel charge for slippers or extra towels!
Overall it's a decent enough hotel but the finer details are missing

On a beautiful square overlooking the baroque church of Santa Chiara, the hotel exudes old world charm. Our family room had a queen sized bed and a loft with a large bed for total privacy. A nice balcony was on the square/park.

Excellent location. Right in the center of the old town. The negatives are that it advertises a roof top jacuzzi and bar. There is no bar and you are not allowed use the Jacuzzi. It is only for show. It also says gym, hot tub and pool. You have to pay extra to use them. Other than that, an excellent hotel, decent enough breakfast, with lovely pleasant staff

This hotel sucks

Do not believe this hotel when they say they have parking. They do not and told me so when I arrived with my bags. Very unhelpful. Simply shrugged shoulders and did little to help. To be fair the city of Lecce is almost impossible for cars so little surprise they don’t allow them into the centre. Had I known, had the hotel actually said something beforehand, I could have made a different decision. Maybe still stay but accept what was to happen. Or not to stay and find somewhere else that could better accommodate a car. We are on a road trip so the car aspect is very important. That the hotel did nothing to assist is unacceptable. The fact that the hotel is fine, location great, city lovely is sadly beside the point. The hotel management sucks. Their attitude ruined our stay. I am very very disappointed.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Staff were great, the facilities and standard of upkeep excellent, and a really comfortable bed. Breakfast offered a generous selection of continental style food.
The hotel is right in the middle of Lecce 's historic district, my room window overlooking one of the top 5 sights of the city. Just 15 minute walk from the rail station. Just about a perfect place to stay in what quickly became one of my top 10 European cities.

Hotel in the heart of Lecce, on a small square across from the baroque church the hotel is named after. Large and fancy lobby. Room basic but reasonable size for Europe. Decent sized bathroom with good rain shower. Internet worked well, but would have liked a bigger work desk. Breakfast room on 4th floor, with view over nearby square and streets. Solid choice of mainly cold (other than eggs and bacon) items.

The staff were very helpful and very friendly and always available. The shower in our room was very old and not cleaned well due to years of buildup (likely). I was disappointed that although there is a pool and a hot tub, neither were opened and you had to book the spa to be able to use the pool. That information was not clear at the time of booking. The hotel was in a perfect location, near everything and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Location excellent. Parking very convenient, staff friendly and helpful. Room was pretty but shower small and doors were not working properly. When we reported, it was not fixed during our stay. Also the hotel advertised a spa and jaccuzzi on 4th floor that were not operating.

We arrived in late morning. Left our bags at reception--when we returned, they were already in our room. The Zona Traffico Limitada limits automobile access times to the hotel, but you just want to take your car to a parking area (after 2 pm, their garage will send a valet for your car; we used Parkejoo, an underground garage, until then). Nice breakfast. No need for a hotel restaurant or bar, plenty of choices nearby. Room was quite attractive with great woodwork and curtains--fitting into the Baroque spirit of the city.

The Hotel is in a perfect spot. The common areas are really nicely done, including lobby and breakfast area. Breakfast was included and was great.
Only issue is the rooms are dated and a bit musty. The air conditioning is OK, not great. Packets of shampoo and shower gel were provided but was kind of amateurish.
The staff is really very great and really help with any concern. All were super nice. Even let us change room as the first one was too musty.

The Suite Hotel Santa Chiara in Lecce was a wonderful property. It has a great location and proximity to stunning churches and restaurants. We loved staying here so much that we extended our stay here two extra nights. The staff were fabulous and provided us with helpful information about the area including great recommendations for restaurants! The morning breakfast was excellent and I especially enjoyed talking with Luna who was friendly and a good representative for this hotel!

Beautiful Central Hotel in Lecce

Possibly the best hotel we stayed in on our trip around Salento this summer. The hotel is beautiful and has fantastic views of Lecce from it's rooftop terrace. It is ideally located and the valet/parking service was much appreciated on arrival. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Location in Lecce

This was the perfect hotel in Lecce - centrally locates and near a lot of the ancient attractions. The hotel staff was welcoming and spoke to me in both English and Italian. The breakfast was delicious and nice that it was included. My room my comfortable, my only complaint was that the air conditioner was very loud. As a single American woman traveling alone, I definitely felt safe and would absolutely stay again.

Very nice hotel. Great location in the heart of town. A couple of annoying problems with a broken shower wand and inability to adjust air conditioning. Our particular deluxe room had a skylight with a motorized opener that proved a bit difficult to use. There were no wall windows. If offered this room, request another.

Lovely hotel with very unique rooms. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the church and piazza. It also had a nice upstairs bedroom which we didn't need since it was just two of us. Great location with close access to key tourist areas and restaurants. The breakfast was very good and actually had a nice rooftop deck with great views. The one drawback is the parking garage is a distance away so it takes about 15 minutes to retrieve your vehicle. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Nice Hotel in Historical District

The hotel is well situated within the historical center of Lecce, steps from the Roman Theatre and quite close to the Roman Amphitheatre, the main square of the old town, the Duomo, etc. It's about a 15 minute walk from the train station. If arriving by bus, you probably want to take a local bus or taxi.

My room was of average size and it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The shower was small by U.S. standards, but larger than many I've experienced in European hotels.

The front desk staff was quite friendly and helpful. Do not hesitate to ask for directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.

The only problem I encountered during my stay was inadequate wi-fi in my room. Often, I was unable to connect and sometimes the signal was extremely weak but adequate enough. Reception in the lobby was excellent.

A nice buffet breakfast is provided in a lovely rooftop terrace.

Beautiful Hotel in Lecce

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location - right in the historic centre of Lecce (a 10-15 minute stroll from the railway station). My room was comfortable with a high vaulted ceiling. Complimentary breakfast good and in a lovely location on the roof terrace.

There were only a couple of things that stopped me giving a 5 star review - 1) The female member of staff in the breakfast room wasn’t exactly welcoming - I didn’t see her smile in the 3 nights I was there 2) Bathroom toiletries come in annoying tiny sachets which aren’t fit for purpose.

Other than those 2 points I’d recommend the hotel if you are visiting Lecce.

Exploring Lecce from Hotel Santa Chiara

The location and the staffing could not be better if you want o stay in the old city of Lecce. Everything you could need is within a short walk. Incredible to walk past the Roman amphitheater every day and imagine its original use. The best feature of the hotel is its very helpful staff.

Only one concern was when we were standing just a few feet from the hotel & didn't know it.
On the phone, I was talking to someone from the hotel. I told him my location OF WHERE I WAS & I was told that I was just outside the church but he didn't believe me, (WE didn't know where we were ) I was almost in tears because I was so tired. A gentleman from the hotel gave me a hard time on the phone, telling me that \"THERE are a lot of Statues in the City & Lot's of Churches\". I then stopped a person on a bicycle & asked her in Italian where I was & handed her the phone, so that she could talk to the man that was on the phone AT THE HOTEL.. IMMEDIATELY SOMEONE FROM THE HOTEL CAME OUT & ASSISTED US & were ever so grateful........FANTASTIC AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE.....SOME PEOPLE NEED TO BE MORE GENTLE TOWARD TRAVELERS COMING IN FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY.

Two days in Lecce. Great hotel in the centre of the old town.
Shame that the little details let the hotel down (Broken shower head in one bathroom, spa bath not working in the other) Room 106.
\"Valet\" parking is on the street with a hotel ticket in it.
Breakfast has a limit of one hot drink and then payment for any further hot drinks. Breakfast buffet not replenished, so poor choice.
Bar not open during our stay.

Located right at the center of town. The hotel staff was very friendly and rooms were very comfortable. We stayed in 2 different rooms. One didnt have windows but only a skylight but was very spacious. The other had windows but was a little smaller. one thing to watch out for is that there are a lot of young folks handing out in the square on weekend nights and there clearly isn't an enforced quiet time. They were making a lot of noise until 3-4 in the morning. so you might want to ask for a room a little removed from the main street

Loved the central location, the building, the room - 2 bedroom loft-suite, floor-to-ceiling doors to the balcony, marble bathrooms, and nice breakfast on the rooftop. Yes, it can be a little loud sleeping if there is an outdoor party downtown, but it is not a deal breaker. Would stay there again. Only suggestion would be a ceiling fan in the loft to distribute the air-conditioning. Loved Lecce, as well.

Great location let down by little things

Just one night stop during a ten day tour of the region. Fantastic location, probably the best there is for Lecce, easy to walk to all the sights. Saturday night very lively so a bit of noise but that was expected given central location. Another positive is parking and unloading cases etc which can be a nightmare in the town. The let down was the detail: the shower was cheap plastic and one you'd expect in a low budget hotel, the door kept falling off its runners and the shower head kept falling off! The toilet seat was very loose, the plants in various pots were dried out and dead. Breakfast was the same quality as the shower. Overall a great location and an 'ok' hotel that just needs to get its act together on the detail

Good hotel right in the centre of the old city

This was our first visit to Lecce, and the 600 metre walk from the railway station was a challenge. But otherwise the position of this hotel could hardly have been better, as a base for exploring the old city, and it is within easy reach of several bars and restaurants. The hotel staff are exceptionally helpful. A very good breakfast was served in a roof-level panoramic space. The building itself is fine looking, our room was quite spacious, which may justify the price.

Real New England Charm

I am with a small local business, and we recommended the Hickory Pond Inn as the accommodations of choice to our customers attending a conference. We had guests coming from across the U.S. and thought why not recommend local accommodations with character, rather than a chain. The guests were thoroughly impressed with the rooms, food, and atmosphere at the inn. They were also impressed with how close the Inn is to the University of New Hampshire. It was a nice place for them to go back to relax at night and provided many sitting and common areas where guests could chat. This is a rather unconventional use of a B&B but proved to be a great choice! I got numerous comments on how wonderful the food was and what a great time was had at the dinner event hosted at the Inn.

Sijainti keskeisellä paikalla, hyvä aamupala tarjotaan upealla kattoterassilla. Osa huoneista pieniä. Hotela.comin mukaan superior-huoneeseen olisi pitänyt kuulua parveke mutta tämä ei pidä paikkansa vaan huoneessa oli pienet avattavat ikkunat. Huoneessa ei ole kahvia/vedenkeitintä ja tossuista olisi pitänyt maksaa 5€. Huoneessa oleva kassakaappi ei toiminut. Kylpylästä ei ole kokemusta, se olisi maksanut 35€/hlö.
Vastaanoton henkilökunta voisi olla ystävällisempiä aamupalan henkilökunta oli sensijaan oikein ystävällisiä. Mielestäni hotellin taso ei ole niin hyvä kuin annetaan ymmärtää.

Terrible. 2,5 stars at the most

Terrible experience. The website said “parking available” (15 euro). Street parking available. Arriving I was told that THER WAS NO PARKING, even on the street. There was a parking lot 800m away (25 euro!). At the room there WAS NO WINDOW, just a skylight in the ceiling that opened about 5 centimeters, so no ventilation. it was 17 to 20 degrees outside, but 27 degrees inside the room ALL THE TIME. The air conditioning WASN'T WORKING. At the reception I was told \"as it was cold, only the HEATING was on. And that they couldn't turn on the air conditioning and the heating at the same time because it was just one system for the whole hotel. !!!! I asked for another room and there wasn't one. My wife had to sleep covered in a wet towel to withstand the heat in the room. It's worth mentioning that the staff were not at all welcoming and when I complained about these absurdities I was told very unwillingly that I should write to the manager. In addition, the room's electronic password safe was broken. In the bathroom, soap and shampoo came in small sachets and not in bottles as is normal in 3-star hotels in Italy. I had to open 5 sachets of soap plus 5 of shampoo for each shower. RIDICULOUS. Breakfast was reasonable but well below the average for 3-star hotels around here. Finally, the slippers, which in any self-respecting hotel or B&B in Italy are offered as a courtesy, were charged 5 euros. A hotel which claims to be 4-star when it should have a maximum of 2.5.

Nos asignaron la habitación nº3 en la que no funcionaban las luces. Cambio a la Nº2. Habitación oscura, con ventana a tres metros de altura por donde no entraba luz. Poca luz artificial. La principal del lavabo no funcionaba. hay que levantarse de la cama para apagar las luces. Típico hotel que publicita Spa pero que o están reformándolo o está averiado. Puro postureo. Desayunando en la terraza al lado de un jacuzzi, algo insólito. Buen servicio de desayuno por parte de la camarera pero monótono y poco atractivo. La fruta merece mención aparte: la poca variedad que tenían daba pena.
