This is not at all a takeaway from the hotel, but there are a lot of stairs and it is pretty much impossible to avoid them. The staff will help you with your bags so you don’t need to do any heavy lifting. If that’s something that doesn’t work for you, consider other hotels.

Perfect hotel that’s right on Amed Beach. Temper your expectations for luxury because it is a quiet little fishing town and pretty much the only thing to do there is snorkel and scuba dive that doesn’t take away from the facilities at all, but don’t expect a Marriott. Absolutely beautiful property with multiple pools and stunning views. Staff will bend over backwards to make sure your stay is comfortable. The spa on site is amazing, we got a couple’s massage and honestly, it was the best massage I’ve ever had for a fraction of the price that you will get at home. Restaurant has very good food, and there are countless little cafés and restaurants you can walk to along the street. Have cash on hand if you venture out of the hotel for food. ATMs are known to be unreliable in Amed so make sure you stock up before you arrive. I didn’t have any problems with them, but I’ve read that other people have. If you do use an ATM in the area make sure you use one that is inside one of the convenience stores and not a freestanding one, as those will possibly skim your card.

Staff amazing & so friendly. Loved our Superior Beach Room fo 3 nights, above the cafe was so convenient. Food & drinks options very good & tasty. Very good value too. Right on the beach where we enjoyed fabulous snorkeling. So much to see & do in Amed & we will definitely be back & book the same room

I was recovering from a difficult time in my life and because it's off season the staff weren't too busy, so I talked to them lots and they became like family, a nephew, and auntie, and I felt so cared for and looked after at a time I really needed it. On Ogo ogo day I actually ended up in town with no money cos all the ATM's were closed, and really hungry, and Sunariyani spotted me just like your auntie would and bought me some bananas just to tide me over, just like a real auntie. The staff have that compassionate warm Bali heart, and they'll become real friends for life if that's what you want. I had deep talks with Buddhi, one of the receptionists about life the universe and everything. It was really so much more!

The staff here is so friendly, the grounds are lovely and the location is great. It seems some rooms are nicer than others. We wound up switching rooms, which the staff accommodated with no problems at all. The spa is excellent. We rented our snorkel gear with the staff. They even booked a boat tour for us; which was amazing.

RECOMMEND SUPERIOR BEACH ROOM (AGUNG VIEW 1)

The Hotel proper (including reception and both pools) and most of the rooms are across the road from the beach but the Superior Beach Rooms are located behind and above their beachfront Amed Cafe. Large room with big balcony and outdoor furniture including daybed, views of the Volcano, beach and water. Room has AC, WiFi, desk and Fridge. Free water (cross the road to reception to refill bottles). Buffet breakfast reasonably good, Cafe meals somewhat small and expensive but good quality. Diveshop onsite, good snorkeling straight off the beach, excellent freediving - the famed Amed Pyramids are a short swim straight out from the beachfront. Short walk along the beach, or even swim, to Jemeluk Bay for more snorkeling and eating options. ATM onsite, moneychangers and several Warungs available within easy walking distance. Staff friendly and eager to please, would definitely stay again in this room

I've been coming to this place since 1999 and find that it improves every time that I come. The gardens and pools are a delight. The new construction is like a work of art. A very good artistic eye and an example of a steadily improving and upgrading property. I always spend part of my Bali vacations here without fail.

Perfect place to chill out for a few days!

The only thing for improvement is the old a/c units in some of the units needs repairing/replacing. This is a great place for solitude and quiet. The beach and restaurant are a popular destination for day trippers.

Relaxing stay

The hotel is a large complex on the hillside across the rod from the beach. We upgraded from the standard room as decided we needed air-conditioning. The larger room was close to the smaller pool, very comfortable with a veranda, including hammock.
There are 2 pools, and breakfast was served in the restaurant next to the beach. The selection was fine -usual eggs, homemade bread for toast, juice and fresh fruit.

Average for price. Rooms, bathroom clean but old. No free water and only soap for toiletries. Towels worn and grey.
Location OK but will stay elsewhere next time. Had one very ordinary meal in restaurant. Beer warm. Wi Fi frustrating. Staff friendly.

Lovely but run down

I had Agung View rm 2 - an older beachfront room over the restaurant. Could be lovely but maintenance and staff education/supervision lacking. Smelly drains, broken furniture, fridge never restocked. All issues resolved promptly but drains smelled again next day, broken day bed simply remade until I demanded a repair. All staff happy and agreeable but I gave up on the fridge!

As we walked around the hotel staff members were consistently trying to sell us things. Getting hawked on the street is one thing as it's common all over south east Asia, it's really annoying when it's a hotel you are already paying for.

Solid place to stay by the beach in Amed. Loved that there was an outside patio that was private and furnished. Wish the AC was stronger. Otherwise, it was a lovely placeto stay (amount of windows are awesome in a corner unit)

Decent place to stay with interesting quirks

The breakfast was great and the staff are exceedingly friendly - though you get the impression they're always looking for an in to sell you something. I had booked a fan room and arrived to learn it didn't have hot water. Fortunately a friend had decided to join me so we upgraded to a room double the cost. We saw the fan room and a lower cost A/C room and they smelled musty. Our room was clean, though the towels were dingy grey. The biggest \"feature\" of this room is that it had frosted glass doors between the room and the outside as well as between the room and the bathroom. What's more, there was a panel of frosted glass between the bathroom and the outside!! My friend happened to be of the opposite gender so it was interesting - but not as uncomfortable as the feeling that somebody from the outside could be looking in when you shower at night and you'd never know. I was happy when I saw the shower curtain that would block the direct view so I pulled it across only to find out it was sheer! A previous reviewer had mentioned a \"design flaw\" with the glass in the bathroom; I don't see how this could have been anything but intentional. Also, we had a large window overlooking the street and when we looked out, men offering us transport pointed to their cars. Needless to say we kept the curtains closed, sadly blocking the beautiful light.

Great place to stay if you want to dive or snorkle. Good was good too. The town isn't very walkable, no sidewalk, walked the beach, that was nice. Easy transport to the Gili Islands!!

Beautiful room and compound

We got Puri Ental 1 in the back. Very beautiful room with glass doors on 2 sides and quite private. It is next to the beautiful huge pool and has partial view of the ocean. It has huge balcony with hammock too. The whole compound is beautiful, lush and well taken care of.

There is no TV in the room, and FYI there are many steps to get to this side, so probably not suitable for seniors. But they hv other rooms.
We met the owner and he was super nice. All the staff were also super nice. Feels like we are friends. Will definitely stay here again if we come to Amed. Thank you.

Excellent location, right in the centre of Amed. The room was lovely and with own private balcony. Pool area is excellent and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room did not have a fridge or T.V but I don't think any of the accommodation in Amed does. Would thoroughly recommend it.

The shower did not work properly. There was only a weak spray of water from the lowest tap. The next door building played loud music the first night of my stay and the soundproofing was terrible. It disturbed my sleep.

Trevlig personal och rätt bra utbud vid frukosten. Stort plus med gratis solbäddar på stranden. Två fina pooler med loungeområden. Möjlighet att förvara baggage efter utcheckning.

Jag valde deras mest basic rum för en natt, och jag skulle inte bo där igen. Det luktade knepigt från badrummet och det var nog svartmögel. Smutsigt handfat, dusch mitt i badrummet så det inte gick att tvätta händerna eller gå på toa utan att bli blöt om fötterna om en duschat. Jag tror det läckte från toaletten när jag spolade också. Det fanns tvål dispenser men ingen tvål i.

Plus: Sängkläderna var rena och fungerande AC. Det fanns filtrerat vatten på rummet & minikyl.
Minus: Ytterdörren glappade, så när en stängde var det en stor springa. Hade någon velat ta sig in hade det inte varit några problem att sparka upp dörren även om den var låst. Fanns heller ingen safety box och badrummet var i riktigt dåligt skick.

Summa summarum finns det säkert bättre rum att bo i, och personalen var väldigt trevlig - även i restaurangen. Bor jag där igen väljer jag ett annat rum med högre standard.

A convienent hotel with two pools but most of all excellent beach and snorkelling access. It has the best spot on the beach for snorkelling! Breakfast is average but spring rolls as a snack from the menu is a recommendation. For lunch/dinner go to Rimba cafe.

Wir sind zum zweiten Mal für eine längere Zeit hier. Wer Ruhe und Natürlichkeit sucht ist hier richtig. Das Gartenzimmer mit schöner Terasse ist perfekt! Frühstück am Strand, zwei schöne Pool... ideal für alle die es einfach und natürlich lieben. Die Mitarbeiter sind liebenswert... sie kümmern sich um jeden Wunsch... einfach toll !

2 schöne Pools, schreckliches Zimmer, Straßenlärm

Unser Superiorzimmer (mit klappernder Aircon) hatte keinen Schrank, lag gleich neben der Rezeption, von wo das Licht störend ins Zimmer fiel, die Dusche hatte nur kaltes Wasser und der Duschschlauch war stark verrostet, die Duschwanne aus Stein eklig. Beim Staufach über dem Tisch blieb die Tür nicht zu, die Schublade des Nachttischchens klemmte.
Die Terrasse ist gross und mit Tagesbett, jedoch bei den unteren Zimmern direkt an der Straße. Das Frühstück als Buffett im Strandrestaurant in Ordnung.
Am Strand sind einige Liegen, jedoch kein Schatten. Am oberen Pool mit schöner Aussicht stehen nur 4 Liegen, ebenso am kleineren.

Nous avions pris la chambre sans ait climatisé et ce fut une grosse erreur, car il faisait très chaud! De plus, il ny avait pas d'eau chaude et la toilette ne fonctionnait pas bien. Bref, je vous recommande de prendre une chambre plus spacieuse.

Leuk hotel, goede plek om tijdelijk te verblijven

Hotel is prima, goede service en de kamer was erg goed en mooi. Hotel zit vlakbij strand en aan de overkant van de straat is het restaurant. Prima hotel en zeker een aanrader om er tijdelijk te verblijcen
