I stayed there a week on my own. The room was big enough to host a whole family. It had a beautiful balcony with breathtaking view. The sauna was great. The pool is small but enjoyable. It's easy to start hiking from the hotel or get downtown with a bus. On the flip side - the bathtub is a bit slippery with nothing to hold on to, and check-in is in the late afternoon.

I only stayed one night on my way to the Dolomites but would happily go back. There’s a large car park but there’s also an underground car park where I was able to securely park my motorcycle for the night, as did two other motorcyclists and a large group of cyclists. Although the corridors and rooms look a little tired it was all very clean and my room was quiet.

I enjoyed a nice beer before going into the restaurant where the Wiener Schnitzel was excellent, and very large!

All the staff were helpful and my very limited German was not put to the test as they spoke very good English.

Really great hotel for a stay in Innsbruck. Brilliantly connected to the city by public transport and the sauna / pool facilities were top draw. Room was very big and offered everything you needed. Carpets a little tired, but that would be my only gripe!

This was the perfect location for us to enjiy the sights of Innsbruck. It is a lovely cute town with grear bus links. It is walkable to the mountains and surrounded by beautiful views. The hotel has a great spa to enjoy and very helpful staff. They also provided a welcome card for busss and feee tours!!

Unfortunately it was hot during our stay and hotel was not prepared. I understand no AC. Historically it was probably not needed, but with rising temps across Europe they need a supply of fans for rooms if requested. Our room faced the setting sun, so it was hot. Although we could open the window after sunset the room did not cool off.

Room was newly renovated and spacious with its own balcony with views of the mountains. The only flaw was no AC in a heatwave. No fan available. Due to mosquitoes we had to close all the windows and spent a miserable night in a hot room being stung anyway. Staff was very understanding and considered putting fans in each room for the future.
Otherwise a great traditional, spacious hotel with plenty to do for all kind of outdoor activities. Winter and summer.

It’s in a great location to access the local bus stop to the slopes. Also next to ski hire and other local shops.

However the hotel itself I feel is more 3 stars. The rooms are very dated, on occasions smelly ( in bathrooms). The breakfast is excellent but expensive. The dinner was a shocker - awkward service and food very salty. Quality terrible. The other local restaurants had much better options.

All in all I would shortlist if your options are limited. I personally would not recommend.

In 2023, WIFI should work properly. No joy during our stay. I have stayed at this hotel > 80 days in my life, and I have always loved it. Some trip hazards noticeable to someone with limited mobility. Easy to fix. Service at front desk was very good.

Nice hotel, nice room, nice pool.

Cons:
Mainly rude staff, WiFi not working, kitchen filthy beyond words. The worst thing about it though was how they are trying to con guests about the quality of their food - „Original Sacherwürstel“ for standard frankfurters, „homemade“ Gniocchetti straight out the packet, etc. I’m Austrian myself and the dishonest behaviour of some black sheep shines a bad light on all of us. Shameful!

Beautiful hotel close to slopes and Innsbruck centre. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff Great, spacious room with balcony and gorgeous views. Excellent spa and pool. Really enjoyed our stay here. Were given Innsbruck cards which came in really handy and gave us free bus travel and discounts for the duration of our stay.

Very nice building in a pretty, quiet village a few minutes’ drive from Innsbruck.
Enjoyed the sauna/pool/garden area.
Buffet breakfast is decent, even though for a four stars hotel standard hotel the quality should be a bit higher.
The rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable, but bathrooms and some interior decor are very tired/worn and need updating.

Great property. Feels like they are finishing up on renovation to update the place. The bartender summed it up saying ‘it is a work in progress’.
Only complaint was summer staffing levels. Breakfast staff looked overworked. A dinner reservation was lost resulting in a promised table for a romantic dinner being given to a family and we we stuck listening to misbehaved children all dinner.

Known Sporthotel for years. Just sold this July so new owner going to remodel and spruce it up which is does now need. Staff are always
wonderful and go to no end of trouble when asked. Bed very hard.
But generally lovely ambiance. Great views. And good location.
J bus takes you wherever you need to go very efficiently. Breakfast
coffee dreadful !! But in a town of brilliant coffee can find that elsewhere. Have always liked the hotel. That didn't change. Full of character. Needs upgrade now. But reflected in the cost.

I booked Sporthotel Igls for one night but unfortunately never got to stay at the hotel. We arrived only to be told the room had been overbooked. I asked how this had happened and was told another guest had made a mistake in their booking and needed an extra room. So because of this mistake we were bumped. It didn't matter that we booked our hotel a month or more in advance or that the hotel took our money, there wasn't a room available for us.

The staff didn't even alert us of this situation until we arrived at the front desk. They later told us they emailed us. I did in fact get an email. It was timestamped AN HOUR before we arrived and all it said was \"when will you be arriving?\"

The solution the hotel offered us was a room they had booked for us at another hotel, which they claimed was a sister hotel. When we arrived at the other hotel the staff there said they were not affiliated with the Sporthotel. The staff at this other hotel also were clearly annoyed at the situation. They asked multiple times when we would be checking out, and we were told quite sternly that breakfast would not be provided.

We did end up with a place to stay but the whole debacle wasted multiple hours. I know mistakes happen but the staff handled it inappropriately in my opinion and left a sour taste in my mouth.

We loved our stay at this hotel!! It is dated a bit, but the rooms are very clean and large. I can handle dated as long as the hotel, rooms, bedding and towels are clean, which they all were! The staff at this hotel are wonderful and friendly!! We got orange juice on arrival and a nice welcome! The breakfast that was included the next morning was excellent and our favorite on our trip. We had fresh omelets made exactly how we asked them to be made and with the ingredients we chose. They had a nice cook behind the counter making them. The evening before we arrived at dinner time and didn’t want to drive back to town to eat. Although they have a restaurant on the property, when we decided to eat elsewhere, the lady at the desk recommended the restaurant just next door to their hotel. The dinner was excellent and the waitress very nice. We got a fried chicken dinner for one of our meals that was really good!! The pool area was nice also. We were there during cool weather so the water was a little cool to jump into. This hotel is away from town a bit and walking to it from the train station or airport with luggage would have been impossible. We had a rental car at this point of our trip so it worked and the parking was free at the hotel. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!!

This is an older hotel located in a good area. Some of the rooms need to be updated but in general the place is pretty well maintained. They have a nice indoor pool and spa area. Breakfast was included and was quite good, including eggs made to order. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I return to Innsbruok.

Great couple of days in excellent hotel.

We stayed two nights in this hotel after a ski week in Solden to allow ourselves a break before the flight back and the chance to see Innsbruck. We enjoyed a welcome drink, which after an hour and a half in the car was very welcome. Great hotel, convenient for both skiing (which we didn't) and Innsbruck itself (which we did). We particularly enjoyed the pool, with its view towards the mountains. All the staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. Perhaps the hotel is a little \"olde worlde\" but that is part of its charm in our opinion. Greet breakfast buffet and evening meal, but the meals are, not surprisingly, Austrian rather than bland international standards. Only downside wifi struggled deep in the rooms

The rooms are well proportioned and equipped, the food is excellent, there is a large lounge-bar, a good-sized swimming pool, plus sauna, and the staff are very welcoming. The hotel is a short bus ride from the Patscherkofel ski area and the centre of Innsbruck.

We loved this hotel and will probably go back. It is convenient to ski areas and there's a ski shuttle that stops nearby and the hotel gives you a free bus pass. The room was large and the entire hotel has old-world charm. We spent time in the bar and lounge where there was a piano player. The waiter even put together a meat and cheese platter for us even though it wasn't on the menu. Front desk very friendly and helpful.

Helpful staff at check-in upgraded us to a suite. Restaurant very good for breakfast and evening meal. Free hotel parking at rear of hotel has limited space, but there was plenty of space in the hotels underground parking for 8 Euros a day. Great bus service every 10 minutes from outside hotel to centre of Innsbruck with hotel providing one free ticket per guest per day. Could not ask for anything more for a fantastic 3 days in the Innsbruck area.

Fantastic place, welcoming sparkling wine or orange juice at Reception, fresh fruit and bottled water in the room. Great wifi and tv choices. Made to order eggs at breakfast. Super pool, gardens and spa and friendly and helpful staff. Plus great location. I had stayed 2 days in Innsbruck but wish I had spent the whole stay here especially as there is a quick and easy bus service (3 Euro) into Innsbruck. Will definitely be returning. Lastly it is also great value.

Comfortable hotel. Bar/restaurant service excellent. Food generally good although room service menu limited. Reception helpful and efficient although knowedge of ski facilities in the area was limited. Hotel well placed however. Bus stop 2 mins walk. Bus ride to lift 10 mins. Buses running every 10 minutes. Pool and spa area clean and bright. Pool comfortable temperature.Lovely mountain views throughout. Hotel room too warm and carpet a little shabby. Otherwise clean with comfortabe beds. Modern bathroom with separate toilet. Would stay here again.

Greeted at reception with a glass of champagne for the adults and juice for the children. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room exceeded expectations with a sliding door separating two sleeping areas for parents and children. Complimentary bowl of fruit and chocolates. Room was clean and comfortable with two TV’s and a balcony. We used the gym and the pool every day, also table tennis table, pool table and table top football available for guests use.

Restaurant staff really friendly with great service. Buffet breakfast with fresh cooked hot options , bacon , eggs and sausages. We were half board, lovely 5 course meal that we couldn’t finish with children’s alternative for the main course. Really lovely hotel, couldn’t fault it.

Overall a decent place to stay, but all facilities are a bit outdated. Staff in the reception where quite welcoming, but unfortunately my wife left a sleeping gown in the room after checking out, we called the Hotel to try to recuperate it but they couldn't find it. A very odd episode, after we insisted and mentioned the possibility of returning to collect the lost item they became rude. Would not recommend.
