The drain in my shower didn’t work and the water flooded the bathroom floor. I had to stop the shower after a few seconds and then wash an arm and a meg at a time. It was frustrating. I think the hotel should discount my stay.

The hotel is fine for people on low budget bus tours, who are happy with mediocre breakfasts, but it lacks any local culture and is located in a boring part of town, but staff were friendly and there was nothing horrible about the place.

Worst hotel experience ever! The room was very dusty and dirty as though no one had stayed in the room for years. Spiders and spider webs at several spots in the room, and I’ve never seen such dirty carpet in a hotel room before. We also had to live with a huge fly in the room for the 2 days. The lime scale on the shower head was terribly yucky although the bathroom and toilet itself was the cleanest spot in the entire room. We had 2 people stayed in the room but only 1 bath towel was provided. There was another bath towel placed in the closet but apparently it was used and dirty. On the morning during checkout time, there was no one at the front desk and we waited for 15 min until someone finally came out, there was obviously a lack of staff as the staff was saying she was the only person managing the front desk, kitchen, and the rooms. She asked me how was my stay and I told her my honest opinion, she was then only giving me a shrug and not so sincere apology. I travel a lot and this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed.

The rooms are fairly new though are starting to show some wear and tear. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was not worth the money, there's a great bakery around the corner and it's cheaper. Overall, it was what I paid for, nothing more, nothing less.

We had to wait over 5 min before someone came to check us & another guest in, which felt much longer since we had been traveling all day & were tired. The place looked a bit run down, walls needed to be wiped clean in our room, we had to ask for additional pillows, there was no sheet between us & the comforter & there were cobwebs in the room. If you need a place to sleep that is cheap, in more ways than one, this is your place. The location was great.

Overall a great stay….except the breakfast we paid 10 euros each for the worst food on our travels,scrambled egg must of been an hour old you couldn’t put your knife into the sausage,the bacon looked like cut up scraps overall very poor not worth 1euro , shame really the staff, room and hotel were great.

Good hotel but beware. I prepaid through Expedia but when I checked in they asked for a $67 “deposit” for damages that was supposed to be credited back to my acct. They ended up keeping this money. I have called three times and three times I’ve been told by Phil that I would get an email and the cash returned to my card but I haven’t received anything. No email, no refund. Even worse is that I have to pay for the calls from the US to France to try to solve this. Beware!

Comfortable No-fuss hotel on edge of city

Good, comfortable no-fuss hotel on the outskirts of Caen. Plenty of parking and ready access to the city or roads leading further afield. Hotel has a basic bar, and provides breakfast although thought this was poor value at 9 Euros. A number of chain restaurants within walking distance.

Good for stopover, triple room booked was small and third bed not good quality so booked a second room (advantage of staying in a less expensive hotel!). Slept fine. Did not try breakfast. There is a supermarket nearby and a restaurant next door.

Fantastic budget hotel for exploring D-Day beaches! We checked in, room is a little small but its totally functional! The shower is the BEST!!! Rain style shower, very nice bathroom and seperate toilet (little high off the ground for me, really did feel like a throne!!) The bed was big and very comfy although there was only 1 pillow each, we had brought our own as we were going camping after Normandy. The restaurant next door was great (little expensive but so convenient) and my boyfriend said that his duck was cooked spot on.

Everyone on staff was excellent

The staff here was amazing. They helped us with everything from directions to the nearest market to things to see in the area to mixing up a Kir Normand at the bar. The hotel has a large, free parking lot and easy access to the main road to Bayeux and the D-Day beaches. It is less than 3 miles from downtown Caen. The rooms are clean and new, but minimalist. No safe, no refrigerator, no microwave. There is a hot pot for tea and coffee. A large screen TV with a nice selection of channels and free, fast WiFi. We spent a very enjoyable four nights here.

hairdryer not working from day one - reported but no action taken by staff.No card available in room to hang externally for maid to allow no admittance- knocking door at 9.10 am to clean room.No top up of tea/coffee/milk supplies in room.Asked at reception re mailing of letter -staff at reception unaware that it is stated in room booklet information that hotel will stamp letter at reception for a cost- having told staff this they agreed to send letter and was charged for this. Disappointed to learn on return home letter was never received.

Bar and reception often attended by the same staff therefor not always speedy although always very May need one more staff to attend bar area.

Rooms are plain but comfortable with very good bathroom amenities especially the spacious shower. Decor is modern. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, especially the man on the desk at night. There is a reasonably priced restaurant next door and supermarket in the area. It has good parking in front of the hotel. We found it was an excellent base to explore Caen, Bayeux and the D Day beaches.

A friendly welcome from the lady on the reception desk who spoke perfect English was a pleasant relief after a very long journey.
The room was clean, bed huge and comfy and a large tv with a few English channels.
The shower was good with plenty of hot water.
Storage for hanging clothes was minimal, but fine for a couple of nights.
The breakfast was rudimentary at best, so I would recommend visiting the restaurant next door if it is open for breakfast.
We had our evening meal there and it was fine, with a 10% discount from the hotel

We really loved this hotel! It appears to be brand new, very comfortable rooms, modern and well appointed. As a very nice rainfall shower and USB ports by the bed to charge your phone! Free parking was nice, not something you find a lot in Europe and the staff was exceptional. I had a problem with our train tickets to Switzerland and they got on the phone for me and helped me work it out. Just super friendly! We would definitely stay there again!

Ideal for a short stay this hotel is in excellent condition, which you would expect from a fairly new building.
We were only there one night and checked in very late (23.30, which is another advantage).
Cannot praise the staff enough who were excellent (and good humoured even at that time of night).
The breakfast was good and plentiful (continental of course). Look forward to staying again

New hotel in Mémorial de Caen area

This hotel opened in June of 2017. It is convenient to the Mémorial de Caen and to the périphérique (loop or ring road.) Many companies have offices in this area. There is one chain restaurant nearby and some discount stores. There is a self-service car wash next door. The hotel has a large amount of free parking. The breakfast room was pleasant.

J'ai l'habitude d'aller dans cet hôtel et n'ai jamais été déçu, sauf cette fois, où il faisait un froid glacial dans la chambre, sans possibilité de mettre le chauffage. Je veux bien qu'on fasse des économies d'énergie et qu'on soit éco-responsables, mais on ne vient pas non plus à l'hôtel pour tomber malade !

Love this hotel but rooms at back overlooked

We love this hotel but the windows of the rooms at the back are overlooked by buildings opposite so we have to keep the curtains drawn. Normally we ask for the rooms overlooking the parking but those rooms were taken this time.
I suggested to the reception that some nets at the windows would be a good idea.
