This is a really lovely hotel. The rooms were lovely spacious and comfortable. The grounds and pool area were beautiful.

The only downside was the meal included in the half board package (which we didn’t realise we had until reception informed us). The menu was very limited and as someone with a fish allergy no alternatives were available. We ate somewhere else after the first experience.

Lindau hotel.

Lovely hotel, excellently located about 20/25 minute walk out of Lindau but close to a bus route. Very helpful and pleasant staff and beautifully set on the side of Lake Konstanz. All in all a great stay.

It was really hard to check in- somehow the fully paid Expedia reservation ( my credit card was charged upon reserving the hotel)) did not show up in their system. I had to prove to the receptionist that i had paid and had to show my reservation. After that all went well. rooms need some improving: no coffee/water/tea in room, mini fridge did not work and the room felt musty because of the lake or maybe because there is no way to have a shower without flooding the non ventilated bathroom ( tub has no curtain, just a half glass door. ). Dinner was included and two nights dinner was fabulous however one night it was absolutely atrocious. Buffet breakfast was very good.

Not that bad, but I will never recommend someone to stay in this hotel. The staff is not such friendly, unsupportive.
No air conditioning, and when I asked the receptionist to give me an iron, they refused. Their reason is that it is dangerous, and not safe for the room’s property!! Even when I told them I will take the full responsibility for any damage that could happen, they refused.

Disappointing disaster.

Extremely disappointing. Check in should start at 3PM, I was waiting for my room additional 30 minutes. Room was very old and smells like dump. No WiFi. Staff was lying about issues with WiFi. I left this crap hotel after 45 minutes.

Delightful hotel in a beautiful position directly overlooking Lake Constance. Wonderful spa, but only one sauna was in operation due to COVID-19. Room overlooking the lake was pleasant enough but the beds in most rooms (I’ve stayed in many) are hard and not particularly comfortable. Our bath/shower was so small we could barely fit in it, so not the most comfortable bathing experience. The staff are delightful tho and always helpful and friendly.

Opulent Night at the lake

A lovely beach hotel with a quaint charm. Really friendly service and amazing lake views of the Snow capped mountains. Truly a feeling of old school money. But the shower could use some upgrades. Otherwise really enjoyed this our relaxing time there.

First of all: the photo is not a true image of the hotel, there is no swimming pool or lawn in front of the hotel-misleading image
Location: located on north of Lindau with no public transport- hotel do not offer complimentary shuttle as advised by you
taxi ride was 15 euro each way which added to unnecessary costs, specially as we had to commute to Brgenze festival
Double room requested we received TINY tween room , there was no way to walk around the room, this spoiled our first impression of the hotel-we manged to upgrade the room for the 2nd night
Amenities in the room was restricted

Staff: where unhelpful and not informative at all
Hotel on the web site looks great- but on location it lacks the service attention to details and care
I would not like to go back to this hotel.
I am incline and in view of suspecting information proved by expedia, as I book hotel rooms for the business as well

This is a well run hotel. From check in through to check out, the staff is ready to help. Our room was tastefully decorated and clean; the bed was comfortable with quality linens. There is a beautiful pool and spa facilities. The breakfast was excellent. This hotel may be a little more expensive, but definitely worth it.

Historic hotel on the Bodensee - short walk of 3km to the marina along a waterfront path. Staff are professional, service is excellent and the outdoor spaces are beautiful.
The interior of the hotel is badly in need of updating. Drapes are dated, carpets are soiled and furniture is not antique, but from the 1970's at best.
Time for the owners of the hotel to spend some money updating the premises, some new paint, carpet and furniture.

A lucky find - very tranquil

A very nice hotel located on Lake Constance. It was a very lucky find as it was so peaceful and calm. Unfortunately we only had an overnight stay, but would love to go back and stay longer as it was very relaxing. The restaurant was excellent and the surroundings very pleasant.

We loved this grand hotel. The reception staff were very professional and friendly. Very much appreciated. We had a fab lake view. Room is dated but that is acceptable. There is a spa etc we didn't use but looks amazing. Room service great - had late lunch/early dinner on balcony. Breakfast superb. Parking onsite.

Top notch on all aspects except the WiFi coverage in room was so poor and frustrating to use that it would have been better to tell me to not even attempt to use it. They told me at checkout time that they plan to improve coverage in that section of the hotel soon. That's great but should have told me that BEFORE I moved into the room.

Feel like royalty when you are a guest!

When booking the trip we were intrigued by the historic charm of the hotel on Expedia.
We had no idea that we were about to have the wonderful welcome and amenities provided by this beautiful Hotel.
From the moment we walked in and were greeted with a sparkling wine toast until we had to leave the next day we felt like honored guests. We were able to enjoy the beautiful pool and spa, dine in the lovely restaurant, walk the grounds and nearby waterside park. aND the most incredible breakfast (which was included in the price).... Everything was just exceptional in every way possible .
Cannot wait to plan our next visit and will stay longer than 1 night😍

Relaxing 2-day stay overlooking Lake Constance.

Relaxing 2-day stay in a pleasant room with lake view on a high floor, but no air conditioning. Very pleasant & helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast, good cuisine (though not cheap). On-site parking. 10min walk to railway station. Jetty directly in front of hotel with one daily ship per direction (i.e. day excursion possible to Switzerland only). Evening excursion to Lindau (where there are plentiful restaurants) possible via ship, and return by train or taxi.

Romantic hotel on beautiful lake Bodensee

We had a very relaxing stay in this beautiful location on the lake, next to a beautiful park for strolling along the lake and the trees. The hotel is large and spacious, and the views of the alps across the lake are stunning. The town of Lindau and the island with the lighthouse are a great nearby diversion. The lobby and patio areas have stunning lake views, and breakfast or lunch on the patio is wonderful. We really enjoyed walking through the neighboring park and relaxing by the lake. The room was very spacious and the facilities were excellent. The service was adequate though not as attentive and friendly as it could be for such a grand hotel.

Very nice hotel on the lake. Can not fault service or location. Was only quick stopover so can't comment on hotel facilities (e.g. spa/pool). The furnishings in the room are dated, so may not be to everyone's taste, but I felt it added to the charm of the hotel. Would have no hesitation staying again or recommending to others.

Old fashioned charm

We stayed in this hotel for OutDoor in Friedrichshafen, travel time to the Messe c.30 minutes. Breakfasted on the terrace overlooking the lake every morning Breakfast was limited to the usual continental affair, however there was a fabulous range of loose leaf teas available, very unusual in Germany and a welcome sight. Aside from the tea, breakfast could have been better with more attentive replenishment from staff and a wider range of goods. Dinner was interesting in the combinations served (mango, buffalo mozzerella and tomato, anyone?) and the portion sizes reasonable, however we only ate in the hotel twice out of desperation, there are better eateries around. Waiting staff were very attentive, spoke great English and constantly went the extra mile. The room was scrupulously clean, and a good size. Shutters were a welcome addition to the windows in 35 degree heat. My 6'6\" colleague was also grateful for the sizeable beds, bigger than we usually experience. Sadly, time didn't allow for a trip to the pool, a bag of towels for which was provided in the room, a nice touch along with robes. All in, I'd go back but would definitely plan meals out.

Breakfast was good. Rooms are small and nothing special. Bathrooms are small and taking a shower completely floods them. If you are used to AC, do not stay there when it's above 80F. The nights were unbearable even with a fan. We would not come back unless the whole place was renovated.

Timeless hotel with amazing food

Stayed here for just one night, on a quick trip through Germany. The hotel itself is gorgeous, like something out of the 1920s (or probably much earlier than that, this is an American speaking). Soaring, detailed architecture and nice finishes in the large central areas. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

The room unfortunately was nothing special - quite underwhelming, really. Small, with older components and a cramped bathroom. And of course, I was in a \"single\" room; perhaps the rooms for couples are much larger. But at any rate the view of the lake was fantastic and I imagine that if you come here, you don't want to spend too much time in your room anyway. There seems like a lot to explore out-of-doors.

And perhaps most importantly, the food was absolutely fantastic. I was blown away by the food. I highly recommend dinner at the elegant, lake-view restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Such a waste of money

I have stayed at nicer low cost hotels for much less money. The head waiter was so snotty to us when we went for a cup of coffee because our room wasn't ready. This is a fairly remote hotel, which is fine--but they charge about 10.00 per day for parking--you have to pay for internet --and their fabulous breakfast--was less than ordinary. They have a beautiful location with beautiful grounds--but just because it's a grand old hotel--doesn't make it a nice place to stay--not for the money they are charging.

Stilvolles Hotel an wunderschöner Lage

Der Empfang war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Am hübschen Einzelzimmer mit Balkon hatte ich grosse Freude. Das Bad ist klein und bietet wenig Ablagefläche. Frühstück und Abendessen waren delikat.
Vermisst habe ich einen Schminkspiegel und einen Wasserkocher, und der Parkplatz war mit 13€ doch überteuert. Aber alles in allem bin ich begeistert vom schönen Ambiente im Hotel.

Das Haus ist wie erwartet. Dem Alter entsprechend (Jugendstil) aber mit Charme. Die Zimmer sind klein aber gemütlich.
Indiskutabel ist nach unserer Erfahrung das Personal. Viele Bewertungen erwähnen die Freundlichkeit. Ja, ok. Aber das ist normal Standard keine besondere Qualität und in dieser Preisklasse schon gar nicht, das setze ich voraus. Service Mitarbeitende sind nicht ausgebildet, da reichen 10 Min. Beobachtung nach Ankunft um das zu erkennen. Kellner hat nichts dabei, muss deshalb nach 5 Min nochmals zurückfragen was bestellt wurde. Auch diesmal hat er nichts um unseren Tisch abzuwischen und auch nichts um den Nebentisch abzuräumen. Alle Kellner laufen mehrfach „leer“…
Noch ein Bsp.: Sonderwunsch (ab Karte) beim Diner an meinem Geburtstag:
1. Person: „Das geht nicht“
2. Person: „Kein Problem“
3. Person: bringt etwas völlig anderes, falsches und das mehr als eine Stunde nach der Bestellung …

Die Zubereitung des Essens war an allen drei Abenden sehr gut.

Zuvor am Nachmittag beim Badestrand möchte meine Frau ein Stück Kuchen: „Kommt später, wenn er überhaupt kommt“. Frage meiner Frau: „kann ich ein Stück für meinen Mann reservieren, er hat Geburtstag?“ „Reservieren machen wir nicht“!

Tut mir leid, das geht einfach nicht in dieser Preisklasse. So jemand gehört nirgendwo an die Front, hier schon gar nicht. Das alles sind Führungsthemen und hat nichts mit Personalknappheit zu tun, weshalb wir das Haus in keiner Weise empfehlen können.

Tolle Lage entschädigt für einige Einschränkungen

Das Hotel ist eines der wenigen, welches direkt am Bodensee liegt. Entsprechend lebt das Hotel von seiner exklusiven Lage.
Das Hotel selber ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die Zimmer könnten auch eine Auffrischung vertragen. Auch wenn das Haus unter Denkmalschutz steht, könnten bestimmt Erneuerungen vorgenommen werden (z.B. der sanitären Armaturen). Auch fehlt eine Klimaanlage, was den Aufenthalt im Zimmer fast unerträglich machte und das Schlafen während der Hitzeperiode im August war mehr als eine Herausforderung.

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals lässt vereinzelt auch etwas zu wünschen übrig, die Mehrzahl der Mitarbeitenden ist jedoch service-orientiert und kümmert sich um die Anliegen der Gäste.

Das Essen im Hotel ist sehr gut, sowohl das Frühstücksbuffet als auch das 4-Gang-Menü am Abend. Da man im Hotel nur mit Halbpension buchen kann, ist dies sicher positiv erwähnenswert.

Das grosse Highlight des Hotels ist zweifellos das Seebad. Wunderbar gelegen, in einem klassischen und stylischen Seebad angelegt, mit sehr gutem Zugang zum See.

Trotz der Einschränkungen haben wir den Aufenthalt im Hotel genossen und wir konnten uns sehr gut erholen.

Positives: Sehr schönes altes Hotel mit riesiger Gartenanlage. Super Frühstücksbuffet & gehobene Dinerküche. Sehr freundliches Hotelteam.

Tolle Lage, Ambiente und Personal

Die Lage, der Empfang, das Zimmer mit Blick auf den See und die Speisen überzeugten uns. Die coronabedingten Einschränkungen waren gut zu meistern, erträglich. EWir konnten uns sehr gut erholen zumal das Wetter am Bodensee besser war, als im Rest von Deutschland war . Superblick auf Lindau und die Alpen.
Der Park mit dem imposanten Altbaumbestand war für uns ein Höhepunkt. Alle Mitarbeiter*innen war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Hotels informationer omkring hotellet er ikke helt opdateret. Hjælpsomme ansatte og pæne værelser. Dårligeste wifi af de 6 hoteller jeg har besøgt på denne tur.
Flot stort hotel ellers og fine faciliteter (pool, fitness, udendørsområder mv. Men det er også godt betalt.

Spa Bereich ist hervorragend sowie Service beim Frühstück, Gepäck ausladen und im Restaurant.

Service an der Rezeption sehr unfreundlich. Zimmer sehr “altbacken” und mit “muffeligen” Geruch. Zudem sind die Zimmer sehr klein. Der Preis ist hierfür nicht gerechtfertigt.
Wir haben uns sehr auf dieses Hotel gefreut, da die Bilder sehr viel versprochen haben. Waren sehr enttäuscht.
Hotel ist eher etwas für 60/70 und wenn man eine Zeitreise machen möchte (außer im Spa Bereich, hier ist alles nagelneu und super modern).

Hotel de charme rétro avec des hauts et des bas

Hôtel calme situé au milieu d’un parc magnifique et ancien au bord du lac. Piscine intérieure et spa modernes et superbes et établissement de bain historique extérieur au bord du lac avec piscine extérieure. Ces prestations sont magnifiques.
Hôtel à 4 km du centre de Lindau (locations possibles de vélos y compris électriques).
Cuisine contemporaine délicieuse en décalage avec le charme rétro de l’hôtel. Petit déjeuner varié et délicieux. Service à table manquant de naturel.
Les chambres sont la partie la plus ancienne de l’hôtel et les salles de bain en particulier ne sont pas à la hauteur du reste (pas de mitigeurs dans l’évier et la douche, débit d’eau faible, température variable, salle de bain toute petite ayant entraîné une demande de changement de chambre obtenue sans problème). Décoration des chambre rétro. Literie excellente. Pas de climatisation. Wifi déficient au débit faible et en panne complète pendant deux jours. Services de l’accueil variable (pas d’explications à l’arrivée), difficultés à réserver les repas du soir. Parking payant 9€/j. Clientèle plutôt locale.

Ikke så godt som forventet.

Belliggenhed som altid fantastisk, men maden i restauranten er ikke så god som vi husker den. Wifi virkede ikke på værelset, kun i fælles områder.
Ingen drikkevarer i minibar og ingen bar åben er en dårlig kombi

Hotellet har en helt fantastisk beliggenhed med udsigt ud over Bodensee og bjergene. Man føler dig virkelig velkommen.
Morgenmadsserveringen var dog noget langsommelig og besværgelse grundet Corona. Kunne godt have øsnker mig A/C på grund af varmen.
Ellers alt i alt er dejligt hotel med en fin service og som nævnt en fantastisk beliggenhed.

Sehr gutes Frühstück. Trotz Corona ist das Morgenbuffet sehr gut gelöst. Riesige Auswahl. Kaffee sehr gut. Alle Mitarbeiter sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Kommen gerne wieder ins Bad Schachen.

Lage und Park drumrum sensationell.
Überall sehr sauber.
Personal im Restaurant zum Teil etwas ruppig, auch mussten wir länger rumstehen, bis uns der reservierte Tisch zugewiesen wurde. Das sollte bei den Preisen nicht passieren.
Handtücher für das Dampfbad gab es nur an einem Tag, das sollte regelmäßig kontrolliert werden..

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber gepflegtes Hotel zum Wohlfühlen.Kleiner schöner Spa Bereich mit Indoorpool.
Badezimmer veraltet, Dusche mit Vorhang und Wasserzulauf ohne Mischbatterie. Angenehmes Ambiente, tolle Lage direkt am See.

Ein einziger Kellner, kann die hervorragende Küch ( die Steaks wahren auf den Punkt Medium rare wunderbar gegrillt ) in Misskredit bringen, währe da nicht der Rest des Personals, der diese wieder ins rechte Licht rückt.
Das Wasser in der Dusche lässt sich leider nicht exakt Regeln, entweder man verbrüht sich oder es ist klirrend kalt, zumindest im 4 Stock.

Fik ikke det vi havde bestilt på booking.com.

Det er et tysk pensionist hotel eller festspiele hotel, næsten alle tog hver aften afsted. man skulle grundet en speciel meny hver dag, når folk skulle afsted til disse festspiele enten spise menyen til 40 eur pr person, eller vente til kl 1900, der kunne man så bestille efter menykort, vi havde bestilt dobbelt værelse med balkon, vi fik bare ikke det vi havde set på booking ,com, vi fik et andet værelse og vi fik en balkon men den udsigt vi var blevet lovet var 2 store grønne mega træer med lidt udsigt til den ene side, vi troede det var med morgenmad og parkering men ak nej ektra bestilling ved afgang.

Einzig unser Zimmer im 5. Stock - Mansarde - mit einem sehr kleinen Fenster ließ zu wünschen übrig. In der Badewanne unter der Schräge konnte man de facto nicht aufrecht duschen. Wir haben es vorgezoge, im wirklich sehr schönen Spa-Bereich zu duschen, wenngleich wir zwei verschiedene Aufzüge benutzen müssten, um dorthin zu gelangen.

Etablissement vieillot, une rénovation devrait être envisagée que ce soit au niveau de l'aménagement et la décoration des chambres (sans air conditionné), des fenêtres vétustes qui manquent d'insonorisation, des alentours du bâtiment (la vue des thermes sur une terrasse pleine de mousse et pas propre ou des troncs d'arbre et toutes sortes de branches qui flottent autour e la jetée).
Pour un hôtel de cette catégorie le nettoyage des terrasses et abords du lac laisse à désiré. A leur décharge ,un orage s'est abattu sur le lac de Constance le jour de notre arrivée donc il y avait des feullies et branches partout mais le lendemain personne ne semblait être en charge de rendre les lieux impeccables.
En ce qui concerne le petit-déjeuner, il n'y a rien à redire au niveau de la diversité puisque le choix y était : oeufs selon vos désirs, fruits, pains, thé, café, jus, confitures, charcuteries, laitages,. Seul bémol, il s'agissait de jus et de confitures industriels.
Malheureusement il y avait un mariage le soir de notre arrivée; notre chambre donnait juste au-dessus de la salle des fêtes ... nous n'avons donc pas fermés l'oeil avant la fin des festivités.
J'estime donc que le prix n'est pas en rapport avec la qualité globale de l'établissement même si sa localisation est exceptionnelle.
