This property was exceptional! The staff were so friendly & helpful. The town was very walkable, shopping was excellent! The location was just on edge of town & the on-site parking very convenient. Our family-size room was very comfortable. The immense bathroom lacked a shelf or table to put toiletries on. We loved Beaune & would definitely stay here again!

Ideal stopover on the way to the alps from
uK. Luckily arriving on Friday evening, we heard no road works on Saturday and could walk over to the market in the morning which was lovely.
Our room had a lovely bathroom with plenty of hot
Water. Comfy mattress. We could briefly hear some noise from upstairs but nothing to prevent me giving this hotel 5 stars. I would happily stay again

Nice courtyard and boutique style of the hotel. Room was a touch small but they made best use of the space. No AC was a bummer, lucky it was cooler out at night to keep the window open. Paper thin walls as I could hear everything they were saying and even feel their alarm vibrate in the morning at 5am.

Excellent hotel for a stopover. Very good secure parking. Best to turn left off the main road to get in but we had no problems getting our large volvo XC90 with 4 bikes on top through the entrance. Gates to car park are locked with secure code entry. Very close to middle of Beaune which is a beautiful town.

The hotel sits amidst a culturally interesting area within walking distance of attractions like the Hospices of Beaune. The rooms are spacious and the hotel serves a worthwhile breakfast buffet. There are a variety of very good restaurants in walking distance. The hotel is across the street from a large public parking lot, but I preferred the security of the hotel's own enclosed lot behind the main building.

Our third stay here. We had a lovely large garden room, parking was great and secure.
Rooms are good value for money. Good WiFi.
Only slight downside is that the breakfast could be a little more interesting/have greater choice e.g meusli , scrambled eggs etc.
Apart from that this is a well located , well run, very good standard 3 star hotel.

I thought that I had booked courtyard rooms for my group but according to the receptionist, this meant that the rooms overlooked the courtyard as opposed to the street. However, she changed 2 of the rooms to 40 and 41 which had outside space with tables and chairs. They overlooked the kitchen but it was pleasant to sit outside with our evening drinks and morning coffee. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms exceptional by French standards. One complaint though: the hotel really needs 2 people on reception at check in time. Service was slow and when the receptionist has to take each guest to his/her room, the wait is unacceptable for others waiting to check in.

Olde worlde style hotel conveniently positioned to visit the area. Just a one night stay on our trip to the south coast. Bathroom clean. Our room was on the second floor ,no lift which could be a problem for older guests,as the stairs were quite steep. Other than that no issues.

This hotel is very cute and seems to strike a traditional French feeling in guests. The staff were attentive and thoughtful and the rooms were charming and spacious. A few things, like some of the door locks and AC units and bedding are in need of an update, which some travelers may find not to their tastes, though generally fine with me!

Nice place!

Lovely place - great location for both walking into and around town and for a quick jump on to the roads for travel out to the vineyards. The garden was just lovely and a nice spot to have a glass of wine or simply relax with a book (we did both).
The only negative is that the rooms were very warm and while you could turn the A/C on and off, you couldn't lower the temperature - and I'm at the age where A/C is CRITICAL!

Very nice traditional hotel,great for a stopover in Beaune.Good private parking.Friendly staff.We had a huge,quiet room -- but not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as it was up several flights of stairs.
Decent if uninspiring breakfast. Well positioned -- short walk into the centre of this gorgeous town.
Some very good restaurants nearby -- and one slightly dodgy bar only a few metres away.

The two rooms allocated involved climbing lots of narrow stairs carrying our own luggage, which for a 76year old was difficult. Only a receptionist was on duty when we checked in however the man in charge whom we only met on departure was very pleasant. This was the third time in three years I have stayed at this hotel it will be the last. The convenient location is the only attraction.

We absolutely loved Beaune. The Hotel Dieu Hospice was totally amazing and beautifully restored. The centre of Beaune was a delight. However, the hotel was very ordinary, tbe room small and a bit claustrophobic, the bathroom tiny and the shower unit hard to use. No redeeming features really.

The Cloche makes a decent one night stop over in Beaune, reasonably priced and close to the centre, on a square with free parking. It is not flashy, the rooms are Ok but not wonderful - ask for one at the back or on the internal courtyard as the front-facing ones can pick up a lot of noise. The aircon worked OK, needed in a Beaune summer.

The room layout is really weird with the truly tiny shower at one end and the toilet at the other end of the room. The shower is really small and it is almost impossible to use without water spilling out near the wash basin and even to the room. Secondly, the WiFi just doesn't work. The hotel staff has been claiming that this is due to Orange, but if so, this has been an issue for a very long time and they need to find another provider.

Ok room with huge timber hanging above, comfortable bed, desk & giant armoire. Good breakfast, though pricey. WiFi is sketchy, as other reviewers have mentioned. Our room was across from large public parking lot, so rather noisy. I would suggest an inner garden room. Outside the \"walls\", but still walkable to all the sights & many good restaurants. Would recommend on a budget in Beaune.

The hotel is very conveniently located to the train station & the historic city center. My room had plenty of space & a very nice bathroom. It was unfortunately off a small courtyard that echoed with kitchen noise. Most of the front desk staff were helpful & friendly. great location just 1 block from walled city, but no wall here anyway. Plenty of restaurants all around, Can walk to all sites as well a bike shop to rent bike for trip thru vineyards ( don't miss). Only negative is breakfast is ordinary and probably not worth 11 euros. We walked from Train station to hotel in 10-15min. Friendly , as we stored luggage first and last day while toured quaint city.

Not in the City Center...

I book this because I thought it was close to the rail station and in the city center...it was neither really. Not too far, but far enough I was tired of walking with my luggage! There is no lift, the floor squeaks, the air is controlled by who knows and it was relatively dark in my rooms. The bath was ver nice, and I had plenty of space, and a window that looked out at the street. You had to walk into the lively part of town to find the stuff to do.

We had a comfortable room overlooking the roofs to the rear of the hotel. It was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. There is no restaurant (though the hotel staff will recommend a couple nearby). Breakfast was busy, but well organised with more choice than in some french hotels we've stayed in.
For dinner we asked the receptionist to book us a table at one of their recommended restaurants, which proved to be very good, the other one appeared to specialise in beef dishes - and was very busy, so we gave it a miss, but it was clearly a popular choice.
There was plenty of off road parking space and we were told it was perfectly OK to leave the car in their car park all day on the day we checked out.

A great overnight stop for the family

We had a very pleasant overnight stay at Hotel De La Cloche on our return drive from the south of France. From the time we checked in unitil we checked out, we found the hotel staff friendly, courteous and always willing to help. We booked a family room which was a good size - the layout comprised 2 double rooms (one with a double bed, the other twin beds) which were separated by the bathroom and small communal area so there was a comfortable distance between parents and children. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the room had very effective air conditioning. The hotel is an interesting mix of the old & the new and makes a very agreeable alternative to the blandness of the modern chain hotels. Combine this with the fact that there is secure car parking in the hotel courtyard and only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Beaune and you can understand why we would be happy to go back to Hotel De La Cloche again.

Very well located opposite town square car park (free), about five minutes walk from the charming town centre. Reception staff functional and efficient although some are a little frosty. Second floor bedroom was of a good size, well appointed, and with a good bathroom. Main disadvantage, as noted by some other reviewers, was lack of a lift and the long narrow staircase to the second floor making luggage handling difficult. Overall, very nice hotel; would stay there again.

A simple hotel, with clean rooms and bathrooms. The location is great, right off old town, and the size of the rooms is good. I could see in a warmer month it could be very uncomfortable, as the air conditioning is almost useless, and the rooms can get very stuffy, even in a cooler month.

We stayed two nights at the Hotel de La Cloche, and it was adequate but not exciting. Our functional room (2nd floor) overlooked the street, but it wasn't noisy at night. Ample free parking directly across the street worked fine for us, or you can pay to park behind the hotel. We had the hotel breakfast one morning, but I recommend skipping that and walking 20m to a boulangerie / cafe instead. The desk clerk was \"chilly\" and less than helpful but overall the hotel was what we needed: good location for an easy walk to central Beaune, and a competitive rate.

A few too many stairs!

The accommodation was in a good location close to the old town, sights and attractions and not too far to walk with luggage to the train station.

The room was satisfactory, no wi fi available in the room, however a computer was available in the dining room for guest use.

The least convenient aspect was no lift and the amount of narrow stairs to climb, especially with luggage. At least there was a bath to have a soak and recover!

Hotel de la Cloche- Gem in Beaune

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Excellent location--walking distance to historic sites and great little restaurants. The hotel itself is a mixture of the old and new. Nicely renovated without losing the charm of the original building. The room was very spacious by French standards and very clean. The staff was friendly, welcoming and accomodating. It was a very nice place to stay at a very good rate. The petit dejeuner was a good value as well. If we ever go back to Beaune, we would stay here in a heart beat. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very old, well-maintained hotel that captures the flavor of the village of Beaune. Perfect location in the center of town, close to restaurants and other sites. The surrounding area is perfect for wine-lovers, as it is the heart of the Burgundy area. It would be fun to stay an extra day to take a biking tour of the vineyards.

We loved the location, the charm of the hotel itself. The breakfast was the best we had encounted so far. Free parking across the street; friendly accomodating staff. A high-definition television on the wall and free wifi made for a convenient experience. There is an excellent restaurant 50 feet from the hotel: l'auberge bourguigonne-a must. The city of Beaune is charming, easy to navigate and full of surprises.
All in all a great experience.

The hotel is very basic but for the price this is what we expected. Our room again, although very basic was clean and the bedding very clean. Good parking and didn't mind the small daily cost of parking. Very good location for walking into Beaune town centre with plenty of restaurants nearby. Wouldn't recommend for long stay as no facilities, but for one or two nights as a transit hotel, no problem.

Good location, but nasty looking room

The hotel is in a good location and parking is available. However, the room badly needs renovating. The toilet area (it is separate closet from the sink/shower area) has some very bad stains on the carpet. Carpet in the toilet area is never a good idea and our room was a prime example. The dark stains made me wonder. Yuck! The shower area needed to be recaulked badly. The chairs in the room also had nasty stains on them. Some of the public areas of the hotel could also use updating. Now from what I understand, some rooms have been renovated and plans our underway for the common areas and the wing we stayed in for next year. Perhaps then I would return, but not until I could be guaranteed that the room has been refurbished.
