The room needs a complete refresh - looking a bit tired. The fridge didn't work (but was quickly replaced), and the wifi wouldn't initially connect (but got sorted after a call for service and 20 mins layer with a router reset). The bathroom counter had a large crack, and the carpet was dated and worn.
The big plus was the East Coast Mall directly opposite the hotel, and access to the City Mall on the other side. So, it suited this part of our stay and we needed to do some shopping and get supplies for our next hotel.
The breakfast was extensive and had a large variety of options to suit many different tastes.

The only inconvenient I found was that when I checked in, the staff couldn't do the authentication of the credit card AMEX that I used to pay the booking, and also in another booking the night before and for car rental. I have been in that hotel several times and used always the same cards. Only after I asked them for try again it worked. I commented them that this card is not using PIN number. They asked me if I had another credit card, but I have only this AMEX credit and Mastercard Debit.
Finally it was solved, thanks to the collaborative and attentive staff.

I requested early check up, no respond. Then have to wait few hours for check up. Asked about the spa, no respond turned out the spa is close. Wouldn’t choose this hotel if I knew about it. The room was dusty, I had allergies upon my staying there. The bathtub wasn’t that clean too. Asked for the remote tv couple of times, only to get it later at night. Overall wasnt a good stay.

check in time at 3pm, I arrived at 5pm.... Queue for check in hotel used 1hour... The lined up customers do not have 1m social distancing and there is no staff to check for the SOP.

But each serving were with 1 piece of chicken and lots of veggies. No seafood. Its almost like fried noodles kosong that cost you rm35. The breakfast area cutlery were not covered and preset. It was not hygenic during pandemic time like this.

Was a little disappointed with this being a 5 star hotel. It felt like maybe they were still to finish putting decor in the hallways. Lobby area was fine and bar staff were really nice.
Our room smelt like it had been freshly painted so could have done with some airing out before we arrived. Once the aircon was on for a while the smell went away. There were no items in the bar fridge which surprised me for a 5 star hotel and a lack of information such as room service menus, etc.

Was there for a conference so an opportunity to explore the property.
1. My non Smoking room was filled with smoky smell. Unfortunately the previous guest must have been smoking and the cleaning staff failed to deal with the cigarette smell
2. There is a huge problem with the elevators. On Friday evening I waited 10 minutes to get an elevator down to the lobby. On Saturday, it was over 15 minutes to get an elevator. They are way too slow and the software that allocates a lift to a call fails
3. Otherwise, decent wifi and friendly staff

Totally what I felt was, a 5star hotel but the facilities and customer service, room standard not reaching the 5 star standard. Especially the swimming pool, 5star hotel with a very small size swimming pool and with a lot of rule to get in there. The only thing I satisfied was the breakfast, still acceptable but still not achieve the 5 star hotel standard. My conclusion is, charged for 5 star higher accommodation fee but only gave us the 3star facilities and service. Very not recommended to someone looking for the luxury 5 star hotel with this price! Not worthy!! Wasting money

Have been staying at Zenith since 2013 whenever we visited Kuantan on an annual basis. It all started off very good. Unfortunately it has deteriorated at an alarming rate since then. On our last stay there in June 2019, we noted the following: lots of mould around the sink, bathtub and shower room silicon seals. Toilet sink trap and toilet bowl seat hinges were eroded and dechromed. Shower head for rain shower full of scales, likewise shower door was full of scales. The wallpaper in the room was peeling off. No skirting between the carpet and wall and no trimmings between the ceiling and wall. Lots of bare painted concrete. Very rough presentation. TV channels available was very limited, in this day and age where most people have Astro at home, this was a big disappointment. The swimming pool was dirty and many patrons were in the pool with T-shirts on. Also saw a toddler in the pool without any swimming nappy on. As for breakfast, same menu since 2016 at least. Nasi lemak, mihun, mi goreng, roti canai, rendang, bubur nasi, kuih.. you get the picture. All local street food essentially. Not even a slice of bacon to be found unfortunately. Did raise this issue with the staff on a previous visit that some would expect a certain quallity in the food served in a 5 star (sic) hotel.They did cook up a selection of bacon & sausages for us then but obviously things are back to normal. Staff are not rude but not welcoming either. It is just that they do not seem to be too interested.

In my recent visit, i found a toy which was left behind by the previous guests ( luckily it was not a used baby diaper) , the safety box was still locked, the Wifi inside the room does not function, housekeeping forgotten to put hairdryer inside the room, and for the room of two guestes there was only one set of toothbrush ( previously there were always two).
I have reported all these issues to the shift manager Ms.Shafiqa ( as she had introduced herself) on 5/June 2019 at 10am. Her reaction was really unprofessional as she just laughed rather than apologized
I think Zenith needs to provide more customer service for its staff as the difference between a five start hotel and B&B is service and paying attention to details.
