We had a second floor unit with an outdoor kitchen. It was a unique experience. It had basic cooking equipment and a gas cooktop and large fridge. It looked over the pool. It was clean. It was a very quiet property. The bbq’s were not in good shape. The pool was clean and very nice with good lounges and shade. You can walk to 3 restaurants, one being on the property. You can walk to beaches with great snorkeling. The staff were helpful. We had issues with the rental car we rented from here though. We wer not notified about a $500 u.s. deposit and if they put it on the credit card they charged 4%. They had to charge and refund and recharge after 7 days which made no sense therefore we were getting hit with extra charges for a deposit. Last minute told to take the car to the unit to get refunded. We were supposed to take it to the airport. They did provide a driver but we were going to make stops on the way. We’re not able to do that. We used all our u.s. cash. The staff were good. We would stay again but not rent their car.

We spent one night in Apartment 14 and immediately asked to be moved as it did not at all reflect the pictures advertised on Expedia. We travel quite a bit, and paying $145 CAD to stay in an “apartment” like that made no sense. It was old, the pillows were stained and musty, there was what looked like chicken wire on the windows, and there were duck decorations on some sort of roof hanging over the bed.
The second apartment we were given was better, but overall the property really needs a revamp. The pillows are old, there was only one thin sheet on the bed, no mattress cover, and the dishes were outdated. There were also mosquitoes or flies, as I was bitten several times. Do not leave any food on the counters — when we turned on the kitchen light at night, we saw cockroaches.
The pool area is nice, but we didn’t use the pool since there are many beautiful beaches nearby.
Tanja and the staff were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the property itself needs updating.

Lovely Tropical Stay Near Great Snorkeling

We had a lovely stay at Rancho El Sabrino. I was greeted warmly and professionally by Sebastian in the office, he kindly gave me information about the area and check-in was easy.we lived our room and the prooerty, pool was delightful and had a delicious dinner at the on-site restaurant. Other amazing view restaurants in walking distance as well as great snorkel spots and beautiful sandy beaches with crystal clear water. We would love to go back. We rented a car which may transport easy, there is no bus service and cabs to the area are spendy.

A nice place to stay.

It is a great place to stay at a reasonable price. Close to so many beaches and restaurants. It is not the Ritz, but just a nice, comfortable, clean place to stay. It also has a full kitchen with utensils. I would say the only thing missing would be a microwave. It also has a lovely pool. Be sure to buy groceries in Willemstad before driving there as there is only one mini market somewhere in town ( we didn’t see it).

We recently stayed at this hotel as a couple for my birthday trip, and overall, it was a great experience. The reception staff was extremely helpful, providing us with valuable information about the best beaches to visit. They went the extra mile by assisting my boyfriend in arranging fresh flowers for me and promptly resolving a light that wasn't working in our room.

However, there was one minor issue worth mentioning. We decided to have my birthday dinner at the hotel's restaurant, and even though my boyfriend had informed the waiter about the occasion, they didn't acknowledge my birthday or offer a complimentary dessert. It would have been a nice gesture to make the evening more special.

Nevertheless, the stay itself was enjoyable, and the owner and receptionist were warm and friendly throughout our time there. Despite the small hiccup at the restaurant, we appreciated the overall excellent service and would consider returning in the future.

I would definitely come back! Stepfany and Marino were cream of the crop!

Whatever issue we had, they quickly came to fix. To be honest, I have no complaints. The kitchen was located on our balcony and they also installed an hammock in which one can relax. The mosquitoes did eat me alive during this stay but Stepfany made sure to give me a spray for them. There was also a mosquito net in the room which helped a little.

We didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it looked very cleaned.

You get your money’s worth and more with this property. It is also located near multiple beaches (including Piskado that has turtles and Forti from where people usually jump off a cliff).

Nice and friendly staff. The room had a kitchen and air con. The wifi was a little hit or miss in certain spots in the room but we sat outside in front where they have chairs and a table and it worked real well. They appear to be remodeling and updating the rooms. Overall, I had a good stay.

We arrived in the late afternoon and were given a free upgrade to an apartment suite. The hotel was filled with mostly German tourists. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The suite was very comfortable and clean, but there was no maid or towel during our five day stay. The hotel is charming, painted in vibrant colors. The pool was spotless. The restaurant had very good local food reasonably priced, especially at breakfast. Many outsiders came for meals. Service was island style, one customer at a time. The hotel is not right on a beach, but several are a five minute walk. Were were there to snorkel, and the best beaches, also very sandy, were a 5-10 minute drive. Best were Santa Cruz, Lagun, Kleine Knip and Kenapa. We rented with Alamo/National at the airport for $37/day. The drive to Westpunt was about 40 minutes, and very scenic. We visiting the capital for shopping and sightseeing, as well as two nearby national parks and a local landhuis. We generally had breakfast and lunch at the hotel, and ate out most nights. We best liked Sol and Tres Pinotti nearby and De Bruyer Cafe in Williamsted.

Convenient location at a fair price

This is a good and more affordable alternative to the more expensive \"water front\" options, the location is excellent if you want to stay on the west end (which is highly recommended). The restaurant was a bit disappointing, the food was OK but they had no white wine when the special was grouper, and they said they couldn't make any cocktails. The swimming pool didn't look very inviting, but then, who needs a pool when you have a beautiful beach just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel? The kitchenette was very handy and we cooked most of our meals after we managed to find a mini market open. Friendly staff, overall a good experience that I would have no problem recommending for those who are not seeking extra comfort and amenities.

Unique Part of North Curacao Island.

Rancho El Sobrino was a pleasant place to meet local people and watch the spectacular sunset from your western room window, see the wonderful views at West Punt Village from the restaurant overlooking a picture perfect bay below with fishing boats offering fresh fish for sale. In particular at Rancho El Sobrino was the excellent food and ambiance of an open air restaurant and balcony with a wide variety on the menu. The food was beautifully presented by the young chef, served with a smile by young waitresses who spoke several languages fluently. The reception staff and owner were especially impressive with their attentiveness and hospitality. The clean pool was a joy to youth with its water slide and cool water. It was a positive experience at an affordable price !

A good option for budget travellers

I chose Rancho El Sobrino based on price and the fact that there were limited kitchen facilities so I could self-cater. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the place had a lovely family feel about it. The place is a bit tacky and wouldn't suit a luxury traveller, but it was simple and clean and down-to-earth. There was a fridge, toaster, kettle and sink in my room, and a restaurant on site. However, there are no shops within walking distance, so if you are planning to self-cater you either need to have a car or go shopping beofre you leave Wilhelmstaat.
There is a small swimming pool, but there is a beach within walking distance, so I didn't use it.

men ändå helt okej. Mycket bra restaurang med väldigt god mat. Personalen var hjälpsam och trevlig. Ett stort plus är att dom hjälper dig att hyra bil, vilket rekommenderas och underlättar mycket här i Westpunt

A staff do hotel é muito simpática e prestativa. O checkin e checkout simples e sem burocracia. O hotel é localizado perto das principais praias do norte da ilha. O aeroporto fica a uns 30 min de carro e é fácil de chegar e sair. o hotel conta com estacionamento. há um pequeno mercado perto, mas é bem simples. Mercados maiores ficam a uns 20 min de carro. O quarto possuía uma cozinha bem equipada, com utensílios, panelas, geladeira, mesa... O wifi funcionou bem todos os dias. Para nós os únicos pontos negativos foram a falta de cortinas ou blackouts no quarto e o cheiro estranho no banheiro, mas nada que comprometesse a estadia. Me hospedaria novamente.

Wij kwamen, receptie dicht en kregen de sleutel in onze hande gedrukt. Daar is jullie kamer, ik moet nu weg.
Dat was onze aankomst.
Verder bleek het resortje bijna uitgestorven, er was buiten een enkel personeelslid geen mens te bekennen. Wij zijn in de avond weer vertrokken.
Zijn er dus niet gebleven.

Kamer groot met ruim balkon. Wel uitzicht op parkeerplaats. Buitenlamp precies achter het raam dat geen gordijn heeft. Veel lichtinval ‘s nachts. Ontbijt op lokatie paar 100 meter verderop, maar wel prima. Wifi op de kamer werkt niet (goed). Heeft mij hoge telefoonrekening opgeleverd. Huurauto kwam dag te laat. Was een tijd geen water op de kamer, maar is uiteindelijk wel opgelost. Eén keer in de week schoonmaak is best weinig. Restaurant had gehele week halve kaart niet. Geen enkele deserts. Neem zeker DEET mee. Enorme muggenplaag.

Das Loch im Moskitonetz war nicht gut.
Insgesamt aber toll, liebevoll rustikal gemütlich, wir hatten einen großen Balkon mit Küchenzeile (top der super Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach) und Esstisch, außerdem eine Hängematte... traumhaft!
Das Essen im Restaurant ist sehr gut und die Tauchbasis vor Ort auch!

We had an \"ok\" experience in Rancho El Sobrino. When we reserved a room for our \"15th Anniversary\", the reserve said \"room with pool view\", but our room isn't in front of the pool. Actually, the room is at the back of the hotel in a not very nice position. The room cleaning service is just \"ok\", nothing \"amazing\". The pool was cleaned once every 3 days. The staffs are polite and we hadn't problems with them. But, one day I requested a \"Mojito\" and it was terrible because the staff swapped SALT for SUGAR. I said: \"Lady, could you please show me the recipe of your Mojito because the mine is brackish\" and for my surprise, she told me: \"I put SALT\" (a terrible mistake). A guy that was behind me said: \"Lady, Mojito is made with Sugar, not SALT\". She changed my drink without costs but I was thought \"how many drinks she made swapping salt for sugar.
Finally, when we checked out, there wasn't anybody at the reception. We checked out by phone. I recommend Rancho el Sobrino, but don't create any extraordinary expectations about the place. Enjoy the beaches around the Sabana.

Ruhiges Hotel mit freundlicher Atmosphäre

Das Rancho el Sobrino ist ein sehr herziges Resort, die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und sprechen gut Deutsch und/oder Englisch. Ausflüge auf der Insel etc. können direkt an der Rezeption gebucht werden. Das Restaurant bietet eine relativ grosse Auswahl zu recht erschwinglichen Preisen. Das Essen - insbesondere die Fajitas und der Spiess- war hervorragend. Auch die ansässige deutsche Tauchschule ist sehr gut - Roland war ein hervorragender Tauchlehrer.
Leider war bei unserer Ankunft das Zimmer nicht wirklich vorbereitet und trotzdem wurde es uns übergeben: der Boden war dreckig, das Lavabo und Dusche im Badzimmer verschmutzt, es fehlte Seife, das Bett hatte keine Decken (nur ein Laken auf der Matratzen). In der Küche auf dem Balkon fehlte das Abwaschzubehör. Was uns nicht bewusst war, weil uns an der Rezeption mitgeteilt wurde, dass dies ein Apparthotel ist, ist, dass die fehlenden Verbrauchsartikel teilweise vom Putzpersonal hätten bereitgestellt werden sollen. Dies merkten wir erst später, als das Putzpersonal vorbeikam.
Etwas sehr unangenehmes war der Gestank nach abgestandenem Kanalisationswasser im Badezimmer.
Das Hotel liegt schön gelegen in einer sehr ruhigen, aber auch abgelegenen Gegend. Ein Mietauto für den Einkauf/Ausflüge ist notwendig und grundsätzlich sehr empfehlenswert, da das fahren sehr einfach ist (Vollkasko ohne Selbstbehalt ist ratsam).

Am anderen ruhigen ende der insel nahe der strände

Das zimmer war sehr groß, mit zusätzlicher küche im obergeschoß, welches jedoch nur für den kühlschrank genutzt wurde. Klimaanlage funktionierte, wlan machte anfangs probleme, tv hatte das zimmer nicht wirklich, da einfach keine sender empfangen wurden. Es wurde sich zwar seitens des hotels sehr bemüht aber während des aufenthalts klappte es nicht mehr. Max 3 sender stark verpixelt. Im bad (auch im og?!) fehlte eine klimaanlage. Auch hätte ich zb eine seife im bad gut gefunden, scheint aber generell in curacao üblich diese nicht bereit zu stellen. Daher war seife eh schon im gepäck.

Die Lage des hotels ist sehr weit außerhalb im \"nirgendwo\"(bei uns würde man sgen am ar*** der welt :-) ) von willemstad ca 1 std entfernt. Der bus fährt alle 2 std in die hauptstadt. Mit mietwagen ist es natürlich alles gut machbar. Im näheren umkreis sind abends keine shops, also bei später ankunft auf dem weg dorthin evtl schon mit getränken eindecken.
Gilt auch für die bar/restaurant. Hat leider schon vor 9 uhr abends geschlossen, netterweise wurden bei ankunft kurz vor schließung noch flaschen zum verzehr aufm zimmer verkauft.
Die lage hat auch seine vorteile, sind die schönen strände gut erreichbar, da diese mE der küste entlang richtung willemstad liegen.

Die mitarbeiter waren hilfsbereit und nett.
Fazit ist das die kleine anlage nett ist, bei tgl besuchen in willemstad ist es aber nervige fahrerei.

Heerlijk appartement in Westpunt met buitenkeuken

Heerlijk appartement op - gemiddeld - nog geen 5 minuten van de mooiste stranden van Curaçao. Zowel het complex als het appartement waren schoon en goed verzorgd en men is volop bezig met het verbeteren van de faciliteiten (bbq/picnic area). Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het restaurant, waar ook veel lokale mensen komen, is de beste aan deze kant van het eiland. Je hoeft dus niet ver als je lekker wilt eten na een lange stranddag.

zwei Reisemäuse

Wer nur tauchen will, ist hier gut aufgehoben

Wir haben 14 Tage im El Rancho verbracht und dieses Hotel gewählt, weil eine deutsche Tauchschule integriert ist. Wir hatten auch den Eindruck, dass das Hotel nur mit Tauchgästen ausgelastet ist. Daraus ergab sich zwangsläufig, dass hier ständig Action war. Diese Tatsache an sich hat uns nicht weiter gestört, zumal wir als Taucher ja davon profitiert haben, dass wir ständig und unkompliziert Zugang zum Equipment und Personal hatten. Wenn allerdings eine Gruppe junger Männer für eine Woche meint, hier die Sau rauslassen zu müssen und das bis früh um 5.00, ist das nicht mehr lustig. Wir hatten leider dieses Erlebnis und auch das Gefühl, dass weder Hotel noch Tauchbasis sich bemüßigt fühlten, die Sache etwas einzudämmen. Wer also einplant, solche Kapriolen miterleben zu müssen, ist im El Rancho durchaus gut aufgehoben. Die Mitarbeiter der Tauchbasis sind freundlich und hilfsbereit und geben diverse Tipps zu den einzelnen Tauchspots und was man sonst noch auf der Insel anschauen und erleben kann. So z. B. Sonntagabend nach Willemstaad fahren und am Mambo Beach die ganze Nacht Party machen. Auch das Restaurante im Hotel ist zu empfehlen, wir haben mehrmals dort gegessen und waren immer zufrieden. Montag, Mittwoch und Samstag ist Pincho Night, da gibt es Fleisch am Spieß. Was die Zimmerreinigung betrifft, erfolgte sie in unserem Zeitraum nur 2 mal, das fanden wir für 14 Tage ein bisschen wenig.

Liebevoll gestaltetes kleines Hotel

Das Rancho El Sobrino liegt im ruhigen Norden. Die Gestaltung des Hotels ist sehr farbenfreudig. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.
Mittwochs ist im Hotel immer Happy Hour und es gibt leckeren Fleischspieß. Auch an anderen Tagen bietet das Restaurant Themenabende.

Generell ist Curacao etwas teurer als Deutschland, weil fast alle Lebensmittel importiert werden. Willemstad ist im Gegensatz zum Rest der Insel sehr voll. Es gibt viele schöne Strände. Man braucht also unbedingt einen Mietwagen.

Struttura tranquilla e graziosa

Tolle familiäre kleine Anlage für Ruhesuchende

Hatten ein schönes Studio mit komplett ausgestatteter Kochzeile (ein paar mehr Pfannen und Schüsseln für kochbegeisterte Gäste wäre schön) und einem Balkon mit Meerblick und andere Sitzmöglichkeit mit Blick auf den Pool.
Zimmer geräumig und sehr sauber. Die Reinigung der Zimmer (1x/Woche) ist völlig ausreichend. Dies gilt auch für das Wechseln der Handtücher, da 2 Sets pro Person zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
Die Anlage ist sehr schön gelegen und hübsch und geschmackvoll im karibischen Stil eingerichtet. Auch der kleine Pool ist zur Entspannung und Abkühlung nach einem langen sonnigen Tag bestens geeignet.
Das Personal ist sehr sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Das schöne Restaurant verfügt über eine abwechslungsreiche Küche, ist jedoch nicht ganz so günstig.
Für Ruhesuchende und Naturliebhaber ist diese Anlage ein kleines Paradies. Wer Animation braucht, ist hier fehl am Platz.
Ein Mietwagen ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen: dies gilt sowohl für den Besuch der umliegenden Strände als auch für die Versorgung mit Lebensmitteln (der nächste größere Supermarkt ist ca. 10 km entfernt).
Für alle Tauchbegeisterte: Tauchschule gleich vor Ort
