It’s an amazing one time life experience for everyone if you can afford. The resort and the facilities were excellent except you have to climb all the steep stairs to get into the road access. Less luggage will be better here. We had 3 baggage and were offered help to pick up them upon check in and check out. Check-in went smooth but nobody was seen for our early check out, my husband had to carry them all up in the hill. Our returning ferry was at 6.45 and had to leave at 5 am but there wasn’t anyone at reception and we couldn’t get hold of anybody. They dropped off bagged breakfast for us the previous nice which was real appreciated. The sunset view from here is spectacular and you won’t forget forever.

I am so glad that I found Tholos Resort! There are so many options in Santorini, but Tholos was the best of everything. We had a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. The location is fantastic...I much prefer Imerovigli to Oia for quietness and central location. And the view...wow!

Breakfast was included in our rate, which was always a nice spread. The staff is super nice and friendly, one of the hosts helped us coordinate a car rental.

Our nice superior suite with outdoor jacuzzi faced Skaros Rock and had an amazing view of the caldera. Sunsets every night were fantastic.

Stop by the mini market and souvenir shop (Antonia Mini Market next to Dear Elie restaurant) and stock up on water, beer, wine, and snacks during your stay. We always enjoyed a bottle of wine in the jacuzzi, which was a nice (and hot) way to end the evening.

I highly recommend Tholos Resort and would definitely go back! If you stay here, I recommend rental a car to explore different parts of Santorini because it's not just Oia and Fira. There are public and street parking around the area within a short walk.

Stayed here last May and couldn’t recommend it enough.
Imerovigli is very quiet town but yet close to Oia and Fira.
Breakfast was fabulous and service even better. Staff was extremely friendly.
Great dining options near by.
Food and cocktails from the bar were absolutely delish.
Room was great size and spacious. View was incredible as well.

Amazing caldera view

We had a great stay in Tholos. We are a family of 3 with an 8 year old. We stayed in the Superior Suite. The space was perfect for the 3 of us. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. It was lovely to wake up to the beautiful view of the caldera every day. Tholos is located along the cliffs so it is not near a beach. You have to trek up the stairs to get to the town. Maybe equivalent to 6-7 flights of stairs? If you don't like stairs, this is not the place for you. Our 8 year old made it every day just fine though. There is a little hotel pool to cool off during the summer months. They served us breakfast in our room every day. We would eat it on the balcony looking out to the caldera every day. We even ordered dinner from the hotel restaurant one night so we can enjoy the sunset. Can you tell we really liked the view? When we did venture out, there are many restaurants and stores within 5-15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. My only suggestion is that they make a sign at the bottom of the stairs to direct visitors to reception. There are clusters of hotels along the cliffs and very clear signs would help. (Note, turn left when you hit the end of the first set of stairs.) Hotel staff was helpful and courteous.

Beautiful views and relaxing stay

Amazing view! The hotel is very relaxing because it’s pretty quiet. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have young children or you can’t handle stairs because there are a lot of them and they’re pretty narrow.
Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. I would say the bathroom would need a bit more storage because there is no paper holder for the toilet so you have to leave it on the trashcan lid. Only one hook for the towels and it’s pretty small. Don’t expect to leave your toiletry bag by the sink because it’s small too. Same for the rest of the room. Only one space to hang a few clothes by the kitchen but once you open you suitcase on the floor by the bed you don’t have much room to walk around. Having an inside pool was really nice and you have an amazing view of the bay from the windows. You order breakfast the day before via a form online. We only got about 85% of what we ordered every time. I don’t know if they were out of just didn’t read the form properly. I would recommend the hot breakfast items, they were pretty good. Staff is extremely nice and porters will help you get your luggages to and out of your room don’t worry. Overall it was a great first experience in Santorini. The room was like the island, small but charming. You just have to stay organize. We tried to go to the main hotel pool but it was full. Since the hotel is built into the cliff there isn’t much room anywhere so just keep that in mind.

If there was one negative and there always is it’s the amount of stairs, but that is Europe, and that is the hillside and the beauty of Santorini thank u to great hosts

Advantages of this hotel:
Conveniently situated just a 35-minute walk away from Fira, the main town.
Spectacular views of the caldera
Complimentary breakfast
Disadvantages:

The room we booked had a hot tub \"inside\" that was technically separated by glass doors. While it made for beautiful photos, the smell of chlorine permeated the room, causing major discomfort. This led to severe headaches and trouble sleeping.
When we inquired about changing rooms due to the smell, the hotel offered us another room for $70 per night.
To boot, the hot tub in our room was freezing upon our return at 5 PM. Restoring the temperature required calling the maintenance person who had already left for the other side of the island. We waited for nearly an hour for them to arrive and the hot tub never heated up. Even the next morning it was as cold as a cold pool. The staff at the front desk blamed us for not requesting the hot tub to be warm. Unfortunately a terrible way to end our honeymoon, I would not recommend staying here.

Very nice hotel with beautiful views. We had 2 bedroom Villa with hot tub, nice size rooms great staff and quieter than Oai, which we liked! I think Tholos has the best views and it’s not obstructed by people walking past your room. It’s very close to skaros rock so more hiking if you like! We were there end of April so would have liked hot tub temperatures little more warmer but we still enjoyed it! Aana was wonderful and helped us with everything we needed!

From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left, we were constantly greeted by staff and treated like family. I have never stayed in any other place where the staff is this caring, grateful, and overall just genuinely nice.

Anna, at reception, had given us some of the best customer service we’ve ever received. Between ordering us taxi’s, calling to make sure we arrived safely and recommending us various parts of Greece to continue our trip, she was amazing.

Overall the genuine care of everyone around us will definitely make Tholos Resort a place I will hands down recommend for anyone looking to stay in Santorini.

The hotel offers spectacular views and staff was fantastic. All rooms have terrace overlooking the sea but how nice is the room itself varies depending on category you book. Pool is quite small but very nice. Food was great as well. The only thing to keep in mind - it’s not adults only and during my stay there were kids splashing and screaming in the pool, which was the only negative point about the hotel.

Tholos was great although they were very strict on their check in time. Me and some of the other guests had to wait in their restaurant in the heat until they had our rooms ready. Some hotels allowed early check in. But they gave us a complimentary orange juice while we waited.

The view was amazing, and the room was gorgeous for a cave inspired suite. However one of days during our stay they had a temporary power outage not just them but the whole block on that side of the caldera suffered. So we had no food, water, or electricity. We had to walk to the neighboring town of Fira to get some food.

Also I didnt feel a special sense of Anniversary welcome from them. No card, no flowers on the bed, just happy anniversary greeting from the concierge.

View was awesome from the private balcony! However, room cleanliness was not up to par to the toom cost; hairs were everywhere (all across the bedroom and bathroom floors and beds). Matresses were stained and old. Amenities such as steam room, dehumidifier, and A/C were outdated and not working at all. Shower and sinks were clogged. However, management and staff were great and very helpful!!!
For the cost, wouldn't recommend; will definitely stay somewhere else on our next visit!

The staff were nice but there were many minor issues. When we arrived they did not have our booking. Also, during our stay: wifi was inconsistent, there were two plumbing issues - one with the sink and we woke up to the horrible smell of sulphur one morning, there was a phantom transportation fee they tried to charge, I ran out of hot water more than once and the water stopped flowing during one of my showers. Finally, there was a brown out (i.e. no electricity for over 2 hours). Like I said, minor issues but given the fees charged and that this all happened over a three night stay, it did not meet my expectations. The location, however, was great.

Overall was a great stay! The staff were VERY pleasant and accommodating and the view was BREATHTAKING. Also the complementary breakfast brought to your room every morning was a huge plus. The pool compared to the other pools at nearby hotels could use some upgrading. Also some rooms aren’t as private as others so I would suggest requesting a room in a corner.

This hotel is amazing!
Location: It's an ideal location (5-7 minute walk from Mykonos Town and Little Venice).
Accommodations: The room is slightly small, but still very nice and very clean. We had a sea view room and the view was amazing.
Breakfast: the breakfast selection is great! TRY the Nutella donuts. Heavenly!
Service: above all else, this hotel will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. They provided free transport to and from the airport and ferry port. They also were nice enough to take us to meet a boat tour one day.
Pool: The pool area is beautiful and the bar/restaurant next to it is also excellent.

Fantastic rooms with best views on the island

Tholos Resort treated us to amazing views from every step of the property, including from our own balcony and even from our own bed. The staff was great, the room-service breakfast (included) was delicious, and the rooms were very comfortable. The location is also top notch, close enough to Fira and Oia, but removed from the massive crowds of tourists. Definitely recommend staying here for anyone who wants to enjoy a romantic getaway.

Amazing views from classy hotel rooms

The hotel itself was beautiful. Our room was spacious, classical Santorini style with tasteful decor. Directly facing the water, we had unobstructed views of the famous Santorini Island from our private balcony. The dinner at the restaurant was very enjoyable as well - nothing extraordinary for the price, but absolutely nothing to complain about either. The breakfast is served in the room and having it on the balcony was just a highlight of our stay. We would definitely be back.

Picture perfect hotel and view

My boyfriend and I took a day trip to Santorini from Mykonos so we only stayed here for one night but we once we saw the property we never wanted to leave. It's located perfectly in the cliffs so the view is breathtaking. The food, staff, and service was amazing. It's a very romantic hotel so if you plan on going with a lover this is definingly the place to stay.

Nice hotel with beautiful view. The decore is charming. Took the honeymoon sweet, very nice decore. However, when turning on the indoor jacouzy, sewer smell took over. Embarrassing. If you are with kids, difficult to get around due to many stairs and far from the main city. Not a walking distance to anything. Hotel is over priced for what you get. For the money I would go else where but hey it is Santorini and everything is over priced. One thing you must know. There is no greenery around. Rocks, mountains and lots of stairs.

Loved the room, especially the private balcony with amazing view. We were down two flights of stairs from main path so had tons of privacy. Only complaints - bathroom had bad smell (which is not really hotels fault - water on island - but it's not great). Also breakfast portions are small so order extra (you fill out form night before). But room was great and view exceptional!

I loved my stay, would recommend it, and would love to come back. Tholos was exactly what I was looking for. The location was perfect - close enough to Fira, good walking distance from cafés, restaurants, shops, and access to hiking spots. But quiet, with an amazing view. Loved how close it was to Skaros - easy walk to a great hike. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had a great view. Breakfasts with a view were incredible. Everything was very relaxed, and high quality. Also had a massage in my room (by Maria Preka, who requested recommendations - and who deserves one!). The food was also very good. Loved sitting by the pool, enjoying an amazing view and good snacks.

The reception misled us about the morning transfer

The location is excellent with great views. The breakfast was reasonably good. The service was not as promised. On our last day we requested airport transfer and porter service at 6.00 am. Till 6.10 am the porter did not show up to carry our luggage to the town square and there was no way to contact the reception as they did not show up till 8.00 am. So we had to carry our bags ourselves to the town square. There are about 40 steps on the way. The shuttle arrived at 6.40 am. Though we got our flight but it was too close. We were one of the last ones to clear security. If the hotel could not arrange porter service and transfer as requested they should have informed us of their inability to meet our request and we would have made alternate arrangements.

Excellent Facilities and Amazing staff

Family (2 kids) spend several days at Tholos Resort. It was excellent - the views are absolutely amazing. The staff are incredibly helpful and you feel that you are staying with families and friends. The front desk (Ms. Lamprini) and her staff are always willing to help. The other amazing thing about this place is the food. We ate at Michelin star restaurants and still feel that this hotel room service and the food might beat that experience.

No details on the amenities in the room

No explanation on how to operate the jacuzzi or how to turn up the water temperature. The water was room temperature so we couldn't use it the first night. Complained but it was only slightly warmer the second night. We paid SO many hundreds of euros for this particular room and it was NOT worth it. The \"Villa\" room was so hot and humid we could barely breathe after they attempted to increase the water temperature in the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Very poor service as there was a charge for everything!!! Spend your money someplace else and get pampered. The only thing this place has going for it is the excellent front desk staff and the view - but the view is the same everywhere in this area. We shouldn't have been charged for the first night.

Amazing hotel with incredible views

Before our stay at Tholos had even started we were met with incredible service. Previous to our stay I had emailed to organise the hotel's shuttle service to collect us from the Port. The van was waiting to collect us and we were whisked away to the hotel. The hotel is in a perfect location with picturesque views of the Caldera (yes there are many stairs but that's the nature of Santorini). Our bags were carried from the top of the stairs right down to the hotel. Margarita in reception greeted us on arrival and took us to our room. She explained everything to us in great detail. She also helped us significantly with our room as we had booked through Expedia the superior room but were given the standard room on arrival . This issue was fixed in a timely manner between the hotel and Expedia and we were eventually refunded the difference in price. The pool and bar were amazing, with the bartender providing us with welcome shots of ouzo. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and delivered to our balcony every morning (at our chosen time interval). We found no issue of walking distance to minimarts and the bus stop to take us to Thira and Oia. We had absolutely no issues with our stay at Tholos and would highly recommend the hotel.

The staff was fantastic and willing to help us with anything that we needed. They even called in a delivery food order for us. The receptionist would set up our ATV rentals and the daily cruise we took to tour the island. The hotel does have over 120 steps that we had to walk every day to get to the entrance so that was quit tough. Would not suggest for an elderly couple that has a hard time with steps. Loved everything else about the hotel and service.

I have not seen the other units, but for the price that we paid for the room (honeymoon suite), it should be better furnished - kitchenette (plates and glass difficult to wash in the sink) is not complete as there is no detergent, or cloths to dry with. Kitchenette is small. The bathtub is large, and towels are well furnished. The beds are very comfortable and clean. The room is spacious.

The food quality for breakfast is fantastic - plenty of food and very fresh.

I would stay here again, but at a lower price.

Not getting what you pay

hotel is far from road down the hill.and it's not a 4 star not even 2.if you wand breakfast you must tell the people from night before.inside room are steps paint all white like the rest of room and it's hard to see very dangerous.

Positives:
The area and views are beautiful
The staff was nice when we approached them for things and tried to be accommodating
Negatives:
We were brought to our room and the staff did not tell us anything...dropped our bags off and left. Given the place has multiple resorts in one small area we had to ask around to find reception. Even once we spoke with reception they offered no suggestions or simple directions on the resort. Could not fax documents, etc. We weren't sure if room service was available, etc. When directly asked for something (I must have called them or visited reception 6x's) they were helpful, but from the onset no structure.
Internet in the room kept on cutting out. Got better reception outside by the pool than the room.

Overall- it was the very start of the season and it showed as the process was disjointed. Hoping during high season they are more structured and organized as they were nice.

I will tell everyone I know to go to this hotel. Everything about it is spectacular. The location is the best--less busy than either Fira or Aio with a million dollar view. The staff couldn't have been better. There were porters readily available to carry our luggage. There are an extreme number of stairs so if you have trouble walking this is not the place for you. We arrived on the ferry and I arranged in advance with the hotel to be picked up--I would strongly recommend you do this (the only reason I thought of it was from reading someone else's review). It made getting there very easy and inexpensive. We originally booked the hotel for 2 nights...but it was so outstanding we changed our plans and stayed an extra night. I can't say enough positive about every aspect of this hotel.

Very Nice & Great Location

Staff was very cooperative and helpful. We were there at a slow time of year (1st week of October) and the weather was cool, breezy, and required a jacket at various times. My rationale for giving the facilities just a 3, was based upon several factors, none of which would prevent me from staying there again. We were in room 102, which looked out, un-obstructive to the crater, as promised. The view was great. However, simple improvements would be to add a shelve to the closet/cabinet. There was insufficient shelf space for 2 people to put clothes out of site. Adding 1 or 2 shelves would have helped greatly. There was no shelves in the bathroom. Adding several coat/towel/shirt/pant hooks in the bedroom, bathroom, and living area would be a simple and inexpensive solution to get clothes out of site. Lighting was rather dim and the living area could use a chair. Morning coffee was a problem as the coffee cups were not replaced use. Consequently, it wasn't possible to make hot coffee or tea until breakfast was served much later.

Perfect getaway

Staying at Tholos was an amazing experience. The staff was super friendly at all times and always will to help and accommodate our needs. When we got there, our room was upgraded for free and that was such a nice surprise. We had dinner at the hotel that night and it was one of the best dinners we've had in all of Greece. It was just the two of us and we were able to watch the incredible sunset. Again, the staff was arguably the best part. So eager to help, it doesn't get much better than them! If I am ever back in Greece, I will definitely be making a stay at Tholos Resort.

Tholos has it all. Wonderful view, great little pool, clean and comfortable room, and great service. Above all, the staff is sweet and attentive. There are a decent number of stairs from the road to the resort, so that should be taken into account for those with limited mobility. The benefit though is that you have more privacy relative to many of the other resorts we saw in the area. We loved it.

Amazing view from every room!

Highly recommend this hotel as it had an incredible view from every room. The staff was also exceptionally friendly.
The included breakfasts were amazing as well. If/when I go back to Santorini, I would stay here again. I also liked the location - slightly removed from the crazy busyness of Fira with all the cruise ship passengers, but still a short walk there if you want to go in for dinner or something.

Great hotel with a fantastic sunset view

Had a wonderful stay at Tholos. The staff is really helpful, especially Marlena who helped us with a lot of bookings and explanations of how to get around the island.

We stayed in a superior suite one night and 2 nights in the honeymoon suite. Both rooms were lovely - airy with beautiful views of the caldera and Skaros rock. The outdoor hot tub in the honeymoon suite was really great. The view from the pool is great and so is the view of the sunset from the restaurant of the hotel. Breakfast on the balcony was a great start to the day.

Highly recommended hotel, but don't stay here if you're not ok to walk down several steps, though if you do, the reward is well worth it! :)

Great stay

The hotel was amazing. The receptionist/hotel manager does her best to keep you satisfied throughout your stay. Ask for advice with trips and she will let you know all the information you need. They'll also arrange airport transfer for you. The rooms are well equipped, a little pricy but to be expected from santorini at this area. The breakfast is very good, it is made to order and sent to your room, but they missed an dish which was a small blotch on an otherwise perfect service.

Excellent location, perfect view of caldera.

We really enjoyed our one week stay on the magnificent island of Santorini. Photos do no capture the grandeur of this volcanic island . We stayed in room #101 at Tholos Resort and we feel it was the best one for us, it was private as no one walked through our balcony to reach their suite, we had sun on our balcony from 9 am in the morning to sunset and it was lovely being served breakfast on it every morning with a friendly greeting.

Tholos + Dom Combo is Best.

The Tholos staff are incredibly friendly and warm, with very personal service and always ready to help in anything. Got an upgrade to their brand new sister property at DomResort-- which has a great pool and luxurious private rooms like a villa. I enjoyed the Tholos caldera view and sunset over drinks at Tholos which was wonderful instead of the crowded Oia or Fira locations; and stayed and swam in DomResort : Best combination! Tholos is great value for the price, and best service!

Nice hotel, great staff, great breakfast

Stayed for four nights in May. Great time to go since the weather was nice and the area is not as crowded. Imerovigli and the hotel is in the middle of the other main towns of Fira and Oia. This allowed us to walk to the busy downtown area of Fira where we could do shopping, eat at small casual places, and find good cheap street food. We also would take a local bus (1.60 euros per person, comes every 20 min) to Oia which is a nicer area in general and has a nicer downtown area with better and more expensive restaurants and stores.

Awesome place for your money!

Excellent location. Great staff. Awesome view of the Caldera and the sea! They also have daily breakfast, delivered in your room so you can have \"breakfast with a view\". The room comfort was rated 4/5, obviously 5/5 is something like Ritz Carlton. Tholos is very good value for your money, excellent service.
The only downside was that the reception area closes from 12 am to 8 am to if you have a 9:15 flight, you must give the staff a heads up to assist you with your early check out.
All the staff were great, the guys who helped bring the luggages up/down 50+ steps! and the reception ladies are all very helpful.
Will definitely come back to this hotel if prices remain descent :-)

Great Value and Location

Had a nice stay here in October towards the end of the season. The location in this part of Santorini is very nice and less crowded compared to Oia and Fira. The hotel has unique views of Skaros which enhances the views of the caldera and makes for good morning hikes. We booked the basic standard room which was a bit used, but still offered good value compared to the other rooms and hotels around. Breakfast was average and served on your private balcony in the morning which was nice. Service was ok, and could help with hotel transfers and motorbike rentals very easily. Summary, great value for the locations and views, but room quality is average compared to other surrounding hotels. Depends on your budget range.

We had the most wonderful time and loved the hotel. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Perfect location since it was overviewing the whole island and it was super peaceful and quiet. The staff was more than excellent and helpful. Breakfast on the porch was great. You will have to walk lots of steps up and down, nothing for lazy people :)
