Love the quaintness of the old, feeling the seclusion, the game room, the living area. The only problem was there was hardly anybody there (which was very nice) but then when somebody did come in, they put them right across the hall (3 feet) from us.

This property while beautiful is a camp not a resort! Coffee always cold as chunky mugs sitting under A/C so they are very cold - thus cold coffee . Noticing this is not rocket science. Dining room not open for lunch or dinner early in week. Never did see the lake! Great place for families with kids, not for pampering.

Wonderful place for rest and relaxation. Went for our wedding anniversary and loved every minute. We stayed in the Woodard House room 7 Exceptionally clean. So cozy, just like home. From the kitchen, to the living room area, to our room, every single detail was outstanding. (Only thing to mention, when heat kicked on in our room it was kind of noisy and woke us up during night) The breakfast at Season's was amazing. Cooked fresh and staff was so nice. The grounds well kept and clean. Enjoyed canoeing on the lake amd the swings. Walked the trails and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The goats and sheep were a nice cute added bonus. Exceptional place to stay. We've already discussed maybe staying next years anniversary as well. I highly recommend.

Stayed in the Woodward House, the room was charming and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Went in the off season so many amenities were not available. The grounds were well kept. We were able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and had a great experience staying there.

It was in a beautiful setting. The breakfast hot brunch was good and plentiful. The room was quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was close to Brevard, Hendersonville, and Lake Lure. Flat Rock had a very good restaurant (huba huba ) with great brisket. There was also a bakery that had good food and two cute shops all in a town square. We liked the jump off rock park for a great view, the St Johns in the wilderness historical church and cemetary and Carl Sandburg house. Al in all a great stay.

It’s a nice place much older than I expected but the staff was excellent. Did not like the idea of climbing stairs. There needs to be lights installed along the walkways. Walking to dinner at night there is very dangerous. The breakfast was excellent and so was the meal we had for dinner. Our room was fine and very clean but landscaping needs a lot of work.

Though the stairs were a bit difficult for me, being older it was worth the climb to sleep in a lovely room with a comfortable bed that was very clean! Lots of things to do here including pool, pool table, ping pong etc. Beautiful setting for a nice walk and the breakfast was excellent and the dining room setting lovely!!

Highland Lake Inn was a very beautiful location. However, parking was somewhat of an issue late in the evening as well as our fridge did not cool down to temperature. Other than that, everyone was super friendly, Season Restaurant was amazing, and it was a very nice experience.

This is a charming, historic lodge that has been updated. Our room was lovely and had direct access to a large shared balcony with tables ans chairs. The grounds are beautiful and great for walking! All the accommodations EXCEPT for the pool-front cabins have a fabulous buffet breakfast included in the price. All I would wish for wish for is an elevator...the stairs are steep and there are lots of them. We'll definitely come again...

This was exactly what i was hoping for when i planned a mini vacation for my husband and myself. It was quiet, gorgeous, and relaxing. The staff always smiled. I would skip the brunch; sticking to their amazing breakfast, which is included. While the brunch is nice, it's expensive. The restaurant is very good for dinner.
We plan to stay again.

We loved this stay! We had a small, shared balcony that looked out on peaceful trees and blue sky. The grounds are lovely and lush. Our room was quiet and clean. We appreciated the quiet policy from 11 pm to 9 am, ensuring that we could rest when we wanted to. While they were sold out, you couldn't tell because there are cabins, cottages, and the lodge rooms to spread out. We had a tasty breakfast buffet each morning, and our one other meal there was terrific! Service is excellent too! We were already planning additional visits, including during the holidays, before we left for home!

This was the first stop on our honeymoon. I didn’t realize we would be staying in a duplex, but that’s no ones fault but my own! We checked in late and checked out early to get on the road headed to the beach. Everything was very clean and just what we needed! I wish I would’ve got the guys name working the office because he was super nice and friendly! We plan to be back when we can stay long and actually see everything in the day light. 10/10 recommend!!

Historic Getaway in a beautiful area

Quaint getaway. The cabin we stayed in is 100 years old, very cute on the outside. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The restaurant, Seasons, is 5 stars in my book. Breakfast buffet was expansive and phenomenal, the dinner and wine list was exquisite. The free kayaks gave us access to the small lake and it was fun to paddle around. Setting expectations- the cabin interior was cheaply renovated, which was fine for us, but for the price you pay, you might expect something better looking. It is RUSTIC, but does have a/c and hot water. There are newer cabins & small houses on site that could be in much more updated condition, the exteriors look good. The Kayaks were missing backrests making them quite uncomfortable after a while. We would bring our own kayaks next time. And we would return!

The woods and location were beautiful! The building we stayed in was in need of repairs. The furnishings are very dated. Looked like 1985! The gounds needed maintenance....lots of weeds and grounds unkept. The restaurant was delicious. Lovely staff!

Heater kept me up all night

The temperature is controlled by a window unit that apparently cant be adjusted because no matter how much I tried to turn it off or adjust the thermostat it blasted on and off at full force all night and woke me up continually, was incredibly hot and dry as well. Woke up dry mouthed and groggy. Literally everything else was fine. Just couldn't sleep.

This Place was Amazing. 25th anniversary Getaway. Picked the Balsam room. Everything was really clean. The property has so much to offer. A Hidden Gem. We are already looking at a return date. The lake and Falls in front of Lake are beautiful. Food at Seasons onsite restaurant was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you are on a Romantic getaway or a family getaway. This place is something I Highly Recommend.

Second time staying here. Wonderful short term get away. Took advantage of pick-up from restaurant on site. Cozy. Lovely views. Enjoy walking the trails. Stayed in the lodge this time with access to pool table and pong pong. Will say you so hear people walking above as well as the water from showers which is loud. Thankfully there were not that many guests so not too frequent. Can imagine could be more annoying with more people. That being said. Great get away and look forward to an extended stay to take advantage of pool and other amenities when able

Moldy, insecticide smelling 1950’s cottage. Sheets looked clean, but everything else real questionable. I ACTUALLY slept in my car that night and checked out the next morning. The website quoted 139$ with full breakfast, restaurant closed, coffee in room , stale and only decaf. They refunded our second night reservation but it was positively disgraceful to be charged 204$ for an absolutely horrible room, delightfully depicted on the website. Also, pool was closed, virtually should not have been open for business- period

This property is near Hendersonville even though it comes up in the search for Asheville, it’s about 20 minutes outside the area. The resort really stands on its own and is quaint and cute. Staff is outstanding and the on site restaurant is 3 stars. Great location if you want to be out of the thick of things.

The groundsman was very nice. The others were polite, but certainly not outgoing. The gentlemen who checked me in was not particularly forthcoming with information.

The actual grounds were very nice. I stayed in a cottage and it was quite dated and dark. The cottage itself had two rental units in it. I could hear everything in the next unit.

I found the food at breakfast to be very good.
