I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had several issues during my visit.
First, the room itself was not well insulated. There was a noticeable gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, which allowed cold winter air to come into the room. It made the space uncomfortable, especially during this time of year. The shower water was also barely lukewarm and only just tolerable, which was disappointing.
When we booked the room, it stated that there would be a lake view and a fireplace. We did not have a lake view, and there was no fireplace in the room as advertised. That was frustrating, as those amenities were part of the reason we chose this property.
Additionally, if you book through Expedia, be aware that the reservations may not be ready upon arrival. This created confusion during check-in. The man at the front desk was quite rude and not helpful. Thankfully, a woman came down shortly after and assisted us professionally, which we appreciated.
The breakfast area was very small and did not appear clean. Because of that, we chose not to eat there, as we were not comfortable with the condition of the space or the food being served.
If you are simply looking for an inexpensive place to stay and are not concerned about amenities, room comfort, or customer service, this may work for you. However, based on our experience, I would not personally recommend this hotel unless someone is specifically looking for a very budget-friendly option and does not mind a lukewa

It was an okay place to stay for one night. The only thing is when we got there no one was at the desk and the same thing when we tried to check out, so we just left the key cards on the desk.
Room was a good size with a really good view of the lake. It is near a busy road so it is kind of hard to sleep, as well as the dripping on the shower and all the other noises in the room I found it really overstimulating.

The room was nice but a little small and drafty. The family was really cool though, once you got got to know them. For the price you really couldnt complain. It averaged about 90$ a night, waffles, cereal, fruit and yogurts for breakfast, coffee, ice and microwave by the office. Really nice on the deck in the morning to have coffee in the sun, especially on those chilly autumn mornings.

I'm in construction. With a background in facility's maintenance. I notice things that people without my background, or unless your a lodging snob, wouldn't notice. So i see why it's 2 star on Google.
-
That said. We were happy. Quiet. Nice view. Quaint old building. Just be aware, narrow halls, and stairs. Very reasonably priced. The bed was oddly comfortable. No bizarre smells and stains. reasonably clean.
-
Bonus, waffle maker fer breakfast.made the old lady happy. we get round to just getting away, wouldn't be a bad spot to spend a few nights.

whole facility is neglected and only fills rooms because it is across the road from a lake in a popular resort area. The road is a very busy state route and noisy. The room had no closet/hanging place, no chair, no glass or cup for drinking. The towels were skimpy and everthing felt dirty and old. I will never return and will advise anyone I know to avoid this property.was so disgusted, I claimed illness and left a day early barely stopping to inform whoever was on duty that I felt sick and had to leave.I didn't asky for a refund knowing it wouldn't happen anyway. I just wanted to get out of there!

No hair dryer provided and had to go ask for toilet paper since was only given bare a half of a roll for two nights. The breakfast provided was just ok. I walked into my room and it smelled like the bedding and carpet had not ever been cleaned. Carpets in the hallway are dirty and stained. The room I stayed in looked NOTHING like the photo online. There were holes in the wall where wall hanging units had been removed (or torn?) out? I got there around 8pm and had a hard time locating a staff member to check in. Said staff member disappeared after I was checked in again.

We arrived for one night. The room we were given was not clean. We were immediately changed, with many apologies, to a larger and more spacious room.Overall it was nice, the room we got was very large, with a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, a few dishes. The maintenance is not good, the taps were leaking all night. But, and this is a big but! The view was worth it all. We saw the sunset, the sunrise over the lake and it was amazing and spectacular!

The smoke detector was missing. The towels were tiny and very thin and had many brownish stains. The bedspread had blood stains. The bedside lamp was broken and not working. The decking and stairs were warped, slanted, cracking and peeling and did not feel safe at all. The private beach is located across the busy highway and there was no crosswalk or lights making it very very unsafe to cross.

It was a rainy chilly day when we checked in. We turned on the heat. After half an hour of blowing only cold air my husband went to the front desk. The young man came upstairs and held his hand for several minutes then declared we would have heat in 20-30 minutes. After another half hour of cold air I went to the front desk and requested a room change. I am sensitive to cold and will awaken if the room is cold. The man said they were fully booked. So I returned and turned off the cold air machine, closed the curtains, and opened the room door so the warm air in the hall could come in. We were fully dressed and reading. A woman soon arrived with keys to a much nicer room. They were not fully booked. The hall was noisy until after 10 with young children running around but eventually quieted. I arose early and went to the dining room where I fixed a cup of coffee and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise over the lake. It was apparent breakfast would not be much so we went to a terrific diner for breakfast. I would stay again just make sure there was heat.

Lesson learned! I should have looked at the bird's eye view of the hotel. It may just be me, when looking at the photos of the hotel I was led to believe that you step out of the hotel onto a deck and you're lakeside with an outstanding view! Lakeside is across a major roadway in the region! We booked for a week, for the Nascar race, and our room was very small, no chairs or desk to sit at! Floors are extremely uneven, bathroom door gets hung up on the floor! Shower is really small! Don't drop anything, you have to open the door to pick it up! No vent in the bathroom! Our main reason for the stay was to be close to the race track! That was excellent! Staff are very kind and excellent people, the over average to negative review is for the place itself! Photos are misleading, at least to me! We were \"catfished!\" Know what you're getting into, I will be more diligent in looking for a place to stay! Some rooms looked to be sizable, ours was not! I was planning on staying there for the week and have a nice quiet relaxing time! Our room was not conducive to that!! Disappointed!

The price was very reasonable as I didn’t have much money to spend on a room so it worked just fine for me. I’m sure I will look at staying again once the weather gets cold. the place was very run down walls needed painting could hardly move around in the bathroom the vanity would slid off in your lap as you try to sit on the toilet. there is no lake view and as a picture showing sitting by the beach not true the inn is on the other side of a busy road from the lake. the gentlemen that ran the place was amazing and he was very kind when we told him that we weren't staying and got a room somewhere else. he asked what he could do to make it better and gave us a refund.

We made our reservation a year in advance, but just a few days before our check-in date, I called the hotel to confirm — only to be told they had no record of our booking. They claimed we had canceled, which we absolutely did not. To make matters worse, Expedia was no help at all in resolving the issue. We were left without answers or support at the last minute. No fire detectors in room, items left in room from previous boarders. Bed spread had a foreign object on it - i could see it being missed- no place for clothes no closet no bureaus. Nice enough bathroom. The owners dont understand its ok to wash exterior windows. They prob dont understand you can wash from inside They looked unwashed for years. Air conditioner was great! The picture of this place is not what it is. The place is not in great condition. The breakfast that was included with the room price consisted of old fruit and stale bread. We did not eat there. The room was very basic. No glasses for drinking water in the room. The tv did not work. The stairs leading from the office to our room was ready to fall down. This place should not be called an Inn. It is a motel with 2 floors. Finally it was way over priced for this type of place.

I wish i could share pictures of our room! This place was so disgusting! We would've rather slept in our car! Bugs flying around in the room stained towels, disgusting stains and hairs onthe chair in the room, no shower curtain. We had to use our clothrs to cover the disgusting pillowcases! We have stayed here years ago andit is total trash now! They show pictures from years ago on the site. DO NOT waste your money staying here. I could share so much more, but it infuriates me that i actually spent my money here! Expedia should be held accountable for offering this hell hole!

When we arrived there, there was a dirty towel folded up. The towels were very small. There were no nightstands. There were no shelves in a brand new shower. The bed was fairly comfortable. The ceiling was low on the 3rd floor. The ramp to the entrance was unsafe. No pool. The owner was friendly.

The photos on the website must be 20 years old. Coincidentally that seems to have been the same time they stopped doing any type of maintenance. The description said the room included a hair dryer that was not present, neither was the shower curtain. Calling 3 bananas and half a loaf of Wonderbread included breakfast is a bit of a stretch, even if it is sitting next to a waffle iron that likely began rusting sometime during the Obama administration. The private beach is on the other side of a busy road where the speed limit is 40mph and all of the chairs are broken and rusted. I could go on but you get the picture…do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

I was looking forward to our night away as the online photos looked like a cute little inn. Upon arrival, the place looked run down. We checked in and put our belongings in the room so we could head out to a concert. Should’ve just turned around and left… stains in the carpets, literally a piece of laminate covering a hole in the wall, bathroom sink drained so slow and just overall sketchy feeling. After checking in and paying the invoice on their credit card reader and being approved(checked my CC statement online), I received 4 calls that my card didn’t go through and she needed my card info. I was NOT giving it as I already paid!
