I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a good experience. The location was absolutely amazing — convenient and close to everything we needed. The hotel itself was very clean, and I appreciated how well-maintained the rooms and common areas were.

The front desk staff were particularly friendly and helpful, making check-in smooth and offering great local recommendations.

However, the service during breakfast and with food in general was disappointing. The staff in the dining area seemed disorganized and inattentive, and the food service did not meet the standard of the rest of the hotel.

If the food service improves, this place could be excellent. But for now, it’s best suited for those prioritizing location and cleanliness over dining experience.

Property is not the nice beautiful castle it shows on pictures. Its a prison with pretty buildings around it. Parking is super tight. Watched a lady make a 30 point turn trying to park. Tv in room didnt work. The other room i had, didnt have a working refrigerator. No ice is avaliable anywhere.There is absolutely no a/c. Maintance also doesnt work the weekends. So if something is broken, well its broken. Otherwise staff was friendly. Fairly clean rooms. Very nice views.

Would stay again. Just needed fans or the ability to keep the windows open all night without bugs or mosquitoes. So a screen and the window opening from the top. Being on the bottom floor with the walking path by our window made it uneasy to keep the window open at night to cool off, that with people and bugs.

Reservamos una habitacion familiar por una noche pensando en tener mas espacio (Vaya error). Habitacion Familiares son habitaciones con capacidad de 4 personas.
Las Habitaciones familiares son un calabozo o me imagino que en una epoca lo fueron.
El servicio del hotel es cero, al check in te entregan una botella de vidrio con agua para la habitacion la cual a parte de tu equipaje tienes que llevar por todo el hotel hasta tu habitacion o calabozo.
En la habitacion te ponen una nota en el baño indicando que cualquier cosa que necesitas avises a la recepcion, pero la habitacion no habia ni jabon para lavarse las manos ni en la ducha, tampoco papel toallet; tienes que pasar por la recepcion a pedirlos y subirlos tu. Y sonara raro, pero por el olor de las almohadas, creo que ni las sabamas o fundas de almohada habian cambiado, un olor a usado terrible.
El desayuno tiene que reservar mesa, a la hora que llegues y a pesar que tengas el desayuno pagado o incluido, sin reserva no te dan mesa. Tienes que esperar que terminen su servicio y luego te acomodan.
Ojo No hay aire acondicionado en las habitaciones

The hotel is typical, soulless and commercial.
Claustrophobic design with long carpeted hallways. Capacity is prioritized over comfort. Lighting and sounds in pool area hectic. The spa is clean but badly designed.
The sheets and towels are nice: white, clean cotton.

After a full day of driving we arrived at 20.30 to the hotel only to find out that they were overbooked and that they had booked us at another hotel in the city. This other hotel was at lower standard (3* compared with 4* and no pool) but we were assured that we didn't have to pay for the higher rate (!), thank you very much.
I still don't understand why the hotel couldn't have called me during the day letting me know about the overbooking, total lack of customer focus.

We were in Fulda for a family wedding. The location was perfect - right in the heart of the old city. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We had a baby and stroller with us. It would have been better if an elevator was present to the lower levels.

Would suggest looking at a different hotel

I'll start with the good, the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Now for the rest:
The property felt a bit worn overall. When we arrived the elevator was malfunctioning so we had to carry our luggage to the top floor.

The room was incredibly warm and, as with many hotels in Germany, there was no air conditioning and it took keeping the balcony door open to cool it down. Additionally, the room's furnishings felt a bit shabby, and there weren't enough power outlets near the bed for us to plug in things such as our phones while also keeping the bedside lamps plugged in. The bed was not at all comfortable.

Perhaps the worst individual thing about the hotel, however, was the hotel's WiFi. It was perhaps the worst out of the different places in Germany we went this trip - the free WiFi was barely useable and limited to three devices that all used the name of the person who reserved the room and the room number to authenticate. My partner and I kept kicking each other off the WiFi because if our phones went to sleep for even a few moments they would disassociate and it appeared the hotel's systems weren't good enough to keep track of if an individual device had just reconnected or if it was a new device entirely.

Finally, the booking image you see is NOT of the hotel itself, but rather of the hotel's restaurant. The hotel itself is adjacent (connected by a long hallway) and is very much of the time it was built (likely sometime in the 1990s).

The room was clean tidy, well equipped, if a tad dated. There was a beautiful garden with flowers all out well tended with a fountain in front of the old part of the hotel.

Breakfast is also served in a beautiful room with amazing decorated celing and plenty of choice. Large choice for breakfast.

The bar is a cosy snug type bar great service and very friendly barman. Thank you. The food in the bar, which is the same menu as the restaurant, I thought was very good.

The railway station is nearby by, I would leave 15 mins if going by taxi for a train. The recommended 5 mins was not enough.

Overall: Nice hotel, staff very helpful and talkative, comfortable room and good food.

A friend recommended us the restaurant of the hotel so we started our trip in Fulda at the Maritim Hotel. The gardens are great. The main building is also beautiful, use for banquets. But the rooms are located on a side area, so you don`t really sleep in the ancient building. The restaurant is located in the basement, a real cavern, very nice. No wifi there. The food is just good. The staff is very kind, not very good english spoken.
I wish the staff had told us about the walking tours offered by the tourist information office to visit the city. By the time we found out about the guided tours, the office had closed and we miss the explanation of the city. Which is beautiful. Much more than we expected.
The Cathedral very interesting. The Michaelskirche is unique, beautiful. Couldn`t visit the episcopal Palace. Very much to see.

Spending five nights at the Maritim enhanced our trip to Germany. The location of the hotel in the center of Fulda was lovely with the beautiful gardens and quiet view off the balcony very peaceful. The convenience of the parking on site made our daily outings much easier. Being within walking distance to the center of historic Fulda really pleasant.
The cleaning staff was very considerate of our needs.
The design of the room with a entry/storage/bath all able to be closed off from the sleeping quarters made my habit of early rising much more palatable for my companion. Even though there was a major wedding on Saturday night, I heard no noise because of the room design.

However, the male desk clerks have not had sensitivity training on dealing with women. When \"Herr Doctor, Professor Whomever\" interrupted my discussion with the clerk, I suddenly disappeared from the mix until \"Herr Doctor\" was satisfied. This is unacceptable in this day and age. Not surprisingly, the women on the desk were always helpful and pleasant.
Likewise I found the breakfast setup most confusing. While the setting is elegant, locating the various offerings of grain, meat, fruits and vegetables was a challenge. I felt like a \"hunter/gatherer\" as I tried to find my choices. Each morning things had been rearranged, so whatever I had learned the day before was of no use. The other guests seemed to be equally confused

Hotel was fine. Location was beautiful and staff was friendly, but none of that is of any value if the hotel is going to double bill it's patrons (once on expedia and once at the time of check out).

I am trying to get a refund from the hotel.

If I do then I will change the rating.

A modern hotel but with a Baroque Orangery as its breakfast room, and a view across the gardens to the Schloss. It was also a conference venue but for small, discreet groups. We were sad to leave.

Loved our stay in Fulda. This hotel is adjacent to the Schlosgarten, and we were able to enter and exit through the gorgeous garden.
Internet wifi did not work in our room, so the staff immediately moved is to another room across the hotel closer to the lobby. They offered us free breakfasts to compensate.
A very very nice experience.

Great Location but Lacks Air & Wifi

The hotel is located right by the Schossgarten and near the Dom. The gardens are beautiful, and a short walk through them takes you right to Central Fulda. The Maritim is so close to the Cathedral that with our window open we felt as if we were at the Elton John concert, and on Sunday morning we could hear the Cathedral bells reminding us it was church time. It was pleasant during our stay, but imagine it could be uncomfortable without air conditioning at times.The room was adequate, but did not have a flat screen tv and only offered 2 free channels in English, both news channels. The biggest disappointment was in the lack of wifi; they advertise wifi (with a surcharge) but in actuality the room only has a T-Mobile hotspot, which we were unable to access because we didn't have a German number or US t-mobile. The room had wired internet access but since they advertised wifi we had not brought our computer. That was a major bummer. The front desk personnel were friendly and very helpful. The food from the restaurant was good, and the bar was pleasant.

Awesome hotel!

This hotel is in the perfect place for site seeing, restaurants, and shopping. The room was clean! The bed was comfy. Breakfast - there is something for everyone. Dinner - this restaurant was like having dinner in a palace! The food was great and the service was absolutely awesome!

We were made extremly welcome and as we were traveling with our small dog, there was a dogbed and foodbowls already in our room, as well as a special Pet food menu. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again.

Der Wellnessbereich hatte wegen Renovierung geschlossen. Wir hatten das Hotel extra wegen des Schwimmbads gebucht, was somit nicht nutzbar war. Es gab keinen Hinweis über Expedia oder die Homepage des Hotels direkt. Das ist ein absolutes NoGo. Man hätte zumindest eine Preisreduzierung anbieten müssen!

Het hotel doet enigszins gedateerd aan. Bedden heel comfortabel. De verlichting in de kamers is niet goed, lampen geven te weinig licht. Er is maar 1 lift en die is tergend langzaam, gelukkig zijn er maar 3 etages. Het ontbijt is wel goed en uitgebreid en wordt geserveerd in het paleis zelf. Al met al een goed verblijf maar er zijn verbeterpunten.

Exzellent und deswegen komme ich gerne wieder

Im Maritim Hotel mache ich gerne Pause auf meinen langen Fahrten zwischen Mecklenburg und der Schweiz. Ich kann mit meinen Katzen kommen. Habe ein sehr ruhiges und schönes Zimmer mit einem sehr komfortablen Bett und am Morgen ein wunderbares Frühstück in der hochbarocken Orangerie.

Ich werde freundlich von allen empfangen und mach kurz vor der Abreise noch einen Spaziergang durch den Park. Für mich ist der Aufenthalt eine wunderbare Insel der schnellen Erholung.

Nydelig hotell, men skuffet over rommet!

Utrolig flott hotell, men ble skuffet over rommet. Vi var forberedt på at rommet ikke var i selve slottet, men med to små barn + barnevogn fikk vi ett rom hvor vi måtte gå ned to trapper til en \"kjelleretasje\" (uten heis). Vi ble dog tilbudt hjelp til bæring, og kunne sette vognen i resepsjonen. Synes likevel at dette var noe som gjorde det ekstra strevsomt da vi hadde hatt det mer komfertabelt om vi kunne ha kjørt vogn med barn + ting i ut/inn av rommet som vi ville. Rommet vårt lå på bakkeplan. Det var dårlig ventilasjon og fuktig. Ingen vifte eller aircondtion. Veldig mørkt og slitt rom. Føltes ikke helt komfortabelt å ha vinduet oppe om natten når rommet lå på bakkeplan, men vinduet hadde heldigvis \"lås\".
Kjekt med basseng, selv om det var ganske kaldt vann og utrolig god frokost i nydelig frokostsal. Kjekk beliggenhet.
Alt i alt nydelig hotell, men skuffet over rommene. Føler ikke rommet gjenspeilet det flotte hotellet

Solides Hotel in fantastischen Ambiente

Nettes zuvorkommendes Personal, komfortables Zimmer, kleines, aber feines Schwimmbad. Das Highlight: ein Frühstück der Superlative im historischen Barocksaal der Orangerie. Die Lage: absolut zentral, am grünen Schloßgarten. Insgesamt ist das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Was aber in diesen Zeiten gar nicht geht: keine Klimatisierung und deshalb im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes heiße Nächte.

Men familjerum 2 trappor ner i källaren utan hiss, hur kan man ha det? Barnfamiljer har väl oftast både barn och packning att släpa på, sen ska man ju upp och ner flera gånger!

Das Hotel hat eine sehr schöne Lage am Schlosspark. Gebäude und Einrichtung nicht ganz neu aber gepflegt. Hervorzuheben ist das immer freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal und die wundervolle Orangerie, in der das super tolle Frühstück (Buffet) serviert wird. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert für einen Aufenthalt in Fulda.

Das Schlosshotel verdient die vier Sterne auf jeden Fall. Allein das Frühstück in der traumhaften Orangerie mit fantastischem Blick in den Garten ist eine Reise wert.
Die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet, alles super sauber. Das Bad lässt dagegen Wünsche offen. Duschbadewanne ist nicht für jeden geeignet, das weiß man aber ja vorher bzw. kann es erfragen. Der Druck der Dusche ließ zudem zu wünschen übrig, auch die Temperatur hätte etwas höher sein dürfen - es soll nach Hinweis aber sofort Abhilfe geschaffen werden - ebenso wie bei den Balkonen, die mal mit dem Hochdruckreiniger bearbeitet werden müssen. Aber das ist Klagen auf hohem Niveau. Das Hotel mit dem tollen Personal, Pool, Sauna etc. Ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen und das Geld wert!

Eine frühere Abreise ( 1 Nacht, aus gesundheitlichen Gründen) wurde vom Hotel mit dem Hinweis auf die Abrechnung mit EXPEDIA nicht erstattet. Damit war kein Vorteil mit unserer Buchung über Expedia mehr vorhanden. Bei solchen Randbedingungen im Notfall ist eine Direktbuchung vorteilhafter.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel

Meine Erfahrung im Hotel war mittelmäßig. Das Hotel ist insgesamt etwas in die Jahre gekommen, die Ausstattung ist recht alt und mein Zimmer war ziemlich klein. Auch das relativ teure Frühstück war höchstens durchschnittlich. Einen Aufenthalt in der Qualität hätte ich wesentlich günstiger bekommen können.

Kurzes Missverständnis zu Beginn, dann alles super

Nachdem ich erstmal in ein falsches Zimmer geschickt wurde, hat man dies nach meiner Aufforderung das richtige Zimmer anzubieten, sofort und unkompliziert getan. Dann hatte ich einen sehr entspannten Aufenthalt mit einem äußerst guten Abendessen!

Zimmer war angenehm groß und vor allem sauber. Gut ist, das die Familienzimmer nebeneinander liegen und selbst wenn es mal lauter ist man auf Verständnis bei den Nachbarn trifft da bisher alle auch Kinder hatten.
Ansonsten ist die Einrichtung ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen aber vor allem heile und sauber.
Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Zimmer ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen aber sehr geräumig und vor allem sauber.
Preis Leistung stimmt
Personal war super nett und man hört nichts von anderen Gästen obwohl die Familienzimmer direkt nebeneinander sind nichts.

Comfortabel verblijf in Fulda

hoewel je niet in het slot slaapt ontbijt je er wel. Ook het park staat ter beschikking.
We zouden zeker weer hier slapen.
Dicht bij centrum en handige p-garage.

Spektakulärer Frühstücksraum und auch top Frühstück. Von Pool und Sauna waren wir allerdings enttäuscht - zu klein zum schwimmen.
Lage ist super, direkt gegenüber des Doms und toll für Besichtigungen in die Stadt.
