Clean hotel room, nothing fancy, but good overall

I had a good stay, loved my very quiet and clean room and comfortable bed. This hotel is good for 1-2 nights stay. It is reasonably priced and for this price you get very basic and clean hotel room, clean linen, nothing fancy. My only major problem was that the Internet was not working, and I could not use my lap-top to do online work. I have read in other reviews on this same hotel that their Wi-Fi is either very slow or non existent. In my case it was the latter : ( The shower space is also very tight. I am slim and I did OK, but for folks who have a few extra pounds that would be a big problem.

Overall a good stay...

Good hotel very close to the downtown area. Room was confortable although the online description was not accurate, we booked a 3 person room which was featured as having one double and one sigle bed, when in fact the 3rd person slept on a pull out sofa.
Breakfast had good options and was satisfying. Surprisingly there was no shampoo or hair conditioner in the room which had us search for a shop that is still open on Sat evening...
Some noise in the evening from the club next door, no a problem if your room is not facing the street or if you close the window (it was a hot evening so we would have loved to be able to leave the window open). Free parking was included which was great, but you must be a good driver as the underground parking spots are narrow and on these metallic

We have booked triple room and they gave us double room. When we mentioned it to them they said: this is not their problem? no one was helpful. i has to sleep on the floor?
The hotel wasn't clean and the photos in Expedia don't match the reality conditions of hotel at all.

great place to stay in central Karlsruhe

We booked this hotel for one night , It has a very convenient parking garage in the basement of the Hotel with access by lift to the reception. The Hotel was in a great location,the staff were friendly and helpful, The rooms are very clean, bright,spacious and nicely furnished,,quite and with super comfortable beds.In the morning breakfast is served in a lovely bright breakfas room looking into a garden. The breakfast is absolutely superb,with everything you can imagen on the buffy, tastebudds goes wild and diet goes down the drain.It equaled to any five star property and we were looked after by immaculate service..I would be hard pushed to find anything negative t say about this hotel,,,perhaps i would mention that the lobby aerea does'nt have the ambiance of a luxury hotel, but for the price you can hardly expect this...All the posetive aspects makes up for this by far ! ,This hotel was fantastic value for money,.. Highly recommend this hotel

Very nice stay

Hotel appears to be no frills when you walk in, but the rooms are very nice and spacious, with comfortable furniture and plenty of hot water (a welcome change from my stay elsewhere that week). Reasonable prices for local wines and mini-bar items, and a nice TV. I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth and quality of the breakfast offering, really excellent.

This hotel provided a perfectly good stay for a work trip. The rooms are clean and the breakfast had a very selection. The gentleman on reception who greeted us was not very cheerful and didn't exactly go out of this way to help us with our queries!

Friendly hotel close to the city centre

The hotel is very close to the centre of Karlsruhe, within easy walking distance of Kaiserstrasse, the main shopping street. Transport links are good, and it's possible to walk to the train station in 30 minutes - a very nice walk, as long as one is travelling without much luggage.

The check-in process was smooth and friendly, and the room was quite spacious. There were all the basic facilities one would expect, and I had no problems connecting to or using the WiFi. My room also had a balcony which I would imagine would be very nice during the summer, but as I stayed in October I didn't use it.

Very well situated in the city. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Something to remember in Karlsruhl is that some restaurants don't take credit cards or US dollars. The hotel lent us money to eat on!

OK / disappointing

Hotel was clean but the decor was very dated. It looked much better in the pictures. It was located in a side street near the town centre which was just a short walk away, which was convenient but the immediate area didn't seem particularly nice: full of graffiti and chicken joints.

The breakfast area was clean and the food was quite good.

I wouldn't recommend the hotel but at the same time, it wasn't terrible.

Great Downtown Location

Its a typical small German business hotel: small lobby, small elevator, small rooms... but in a great location, excellent choice of breakfast items, the staff were professional, room was clean, wireless internet speeds were super, and you can't beat the rate. My only complaint was the mattress was a bit hard. The hotel is hard to find (on a one-way street) and sits in the middle of a neighborhood. Lots of drinking and eating establishments within easy walking distance. I would recommend the Dudelsack restaurant one street over for superb German cuisine.

Excellent decor, stuffy room, rather expensive

Our room was a modest size, included a tiny balcony and a compact shower room. Excellent, comfortable furnishings and stylish decor, but no air conditioning made it stuffy and uncomfortable - even with the window open it was hot an uncomfortable despite the fan provided by the hotel, and the street noise was distracting. Limited parking - book a car park space in advance if you don't want to park on the street like we had to.

The hotel was impossible to find. I think we saw every hotel in the city before this one. The rooms were clean, but that's about it. Elevator was quite old and I definitely thought it would break every time we got in it. Parking cost 9 euros for the night. Breakfast was alright, nothing great.

Surprisingly good hotel

The Ambassador Hotel is fantastic. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Karlsruhe. The hotel does not look like much from the outside, but the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Rooms are not huge, but above average and more than adequate. The 24hr staff are always friendly, helpful, and multilingual. The morning breakfast buffet is surprisingly extensive and very nice quality. The hotel is located perfectly in the inner-west side of the city and is walking distance to the Marketplatz, Ludwigsplatz, and the countless shops, restaurants, and bars in the area.

After a long drive, we decided to stop at this hotel(random pick) for one night. We arrived around midnight, but checkin was quick and easy. The decor isnt that great but room was simple, clean and tidy, so was the bathroom which is comforting. They only had handsoap/bodywash, but we had our own shampoo, toothbrush etc. so it wasnt an issue. Definitely had a great nightsleep and woke up very refreshed. Te breakfast buffet was good, staff were friendly. Overall, a surprisingly pleasant stay.

A standard hotel

Hotel Ambassador is what I would call a standard hotel. Nothing more, nothing less. But the staff is very friendly and helpful, they all speak good English. Rooms are classic and without any \"extra\" items, but functional and spacious. Rooms are also clean. An extra plus for the complimentary internet access. Breakfast is an extr two pluses. It was a very good buffet breakfast with everything one might wish to start the day. Overall a good hotel, but many things still just at standard level.

An sich ein sehr gutes Hotel. Leider war unser Zimmer sehr hellhörig und es hat im Bad nach Zigarettenrauch gerochen (wir vermuten es kommt durch die Lüftung, da es ein Nichtraucherzimmer war). Die Klospülung ging von alleine jede Minute an und es kam etwas Wasser raus, was vor allem nachts etwas gestört hat.

Unser Zimmer im 1. Stock war nach hinten raus und sehr ruhig! In der Nacht konnte man das Fenster und die Balkontüre gekippt lassen um frische Luft reinzulassen, so dass die Klimaanlage abgeschaltet werden konnte! Auch die Lage des Hotels ist praktisch, das Stadtzentrum ist in wenigen Gehminuten erreichbar und in der Nähe des Hotels hat es auch ganz gute Restaurants!

Sehr gute zentrale Lage, trotzdem ganz ruhig (Zimmer nach hinten raus). Ausgezeichnetes, reichaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Tiefgarage beim Hotel für 9 Euro/Nacht. Erfreulich: wir durften unser Auto am Tag nach dem Auschecken ohne zusätzliche Kosten bis zu unserer Abreise am Abend dort lassen.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral , was für uns wunderbar war.
Der Check in war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert.
Das Zimmer hat alles was man braucht, etwas kahl da es kein einziges Bild gibt, was uns aber nicht gestört hat.
Leider war es nicht richtig sauber, sehr staubig und mehrer Haare im Bad auf dem Boden.
Was uns etwas geärgert hat ist , dass die Tiefgarage 9€ extra kostet, wir aber nicht darüber informiert wurden. Erst beim Check out haben wir es auf der Rechnung bemerkt.
Das Frühstücksbüffet zwar abwechslungsreich und lecker.

Normales Hotel mit tollem Frühstücksbüffet

Nach der Geburtstagsparty eines Freundes hat sich dieses Hotel mehr als angeboten. Die Lage ist solala, für unseren Bedarf aber perfekt. Das Hotel mach von außen keinen besonderen Eindruck, das Interieur ist nichts besonderes. Unser Zimmer war sauber. Besonders überzeugt hat uns das sehr vielfältige Frühstücksbüffet. Alles in einem definitiv zu empfehlen!

Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, professionell und zuvorkommend. Unser Zimmer war leider zur Straße hin gelegen und daher bei offenem Fenster nachts etwas lauter aber völlig im Rahmen. Die Ausstattung für *** überdurchschnittlich. Besonders beim Frühstückbuffet zeigt das Hotel sehr viel liebe zum Detail. Wir hatten in 5* Hotels schon wesentlich weniger Auswahl und Qualität. Ich würde das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.

Die Hotelauswahl haben wir keine Minute bereut - das Personal war zu jeder Zeit sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend (eine Bedienung wusste sogar jeweils unsere Bestellungen vom Vortag vom Frühstück und fragte, ob wir dasselbe wollen!). Das Zimmer erfüllte unsere Anforderungen vollständig. Der einzige Mangel war das Bad, bzw. der Boden im Bad, welcher ein bisschen schmutzig war.
Auch der Standort des Hotels ist super - innerhalb von wenigen Minuten ist man im Stadtzentrum!

Für Leute die mit offenem Fenster schlafen ist das nix, da die Gegend, vor allem abends und am Wochenende wegen den vielen Party und Restaurantbesuchern doch recht laut ist.

Parkplätze sind ja auch wie in der City üblich Mangelware. Das hotel bietet zwar eine tiefgarage aber diese kann man nur mit org.Fahrzeugen befahren, also nix für tiefergelegte Autos. Ausserdem finde ich 9,50€ pro Nacht schon recht teuer.

Nicht wirklich empfehlenswert

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und hat auch eine Parkgarage. Das Frühstück war gut und der Service freundlich. Das wars dann aber auch schon mit dem Positiven. Die Zimmer und Flure sind eine Zeitreise zurück in die Siebziger und leider müffelt es auf den Fluren und auch im Zimmer sehr stark, trotz ständig geöffneten Fenstern. Ich komme definitiv nicht wieder.

In centro a Karlsruhe

Hotel in fantastica posizione al centro di Karlsruhe. La struttura è un po' datata però decisamente pulita e arredata in modo sobrio ma con mobili nuovi e funzionali. Letto comodo e zona silenziosa. Personale cordiale e disponibile. Colazione abbondante e variegata, come spesso all'estero caffè e cappuccino tanto amati da noi italiani è meglio lasciarli stare e scegliere altro.
