The room was amazing with the most wonderful view too. A beautiful place.
Should consider breakfast as a buffet for cereals and drinks, serve the rest to order if needs be, but not everything, we were missed out but it’s down to staff having too much to remember.

Poor, old saggy mattresses

The mattresses were in very used and in poor condition, you could see they had a dip in the middle from use. When I lay on the mattress it would squash totally flat and my body would actually be resting on the hard bed frame.

Tried to get a VAT receipt for what I paid. Was informed that the hotel could not do it. I paid £286.28 to hotels.com for two rooms. The hotel could only give me a receipt for £236. Scandalous.

The waiter serving 13/08/25 is fantastic.
Stayed here a year ago, he remebered me, is very polite and attentive but not overbearing, profelfessional and down to earth. The reason I enjoyed my 1st stay.
The front of house Charlie, is also fantastic, down to earth, personable and professional.
The chef, begind closed doors is also clearly very good at their job, having stayed a few nights and sampling various parts of the menu, everything is very nicely cooked, presented and tasty.

Hotel did not have water on the Saturday morning and unable to get shower prior to wedding. Breakfast on Sunday.. Breakfast between 8-10 am. We arrived 9.30 and despite F&B manager opening up the heat pots when we arrived to choose hot food then containers were empty. After requesting a full breakfast this was served.

Was disappointed overall :(

Friendly staff first at the reception. The room unfortunately wasn't the best. It was small for the price, and had light coming through the main door because of a large gap at the bottom at night. It was really noisy with the music and hallway until late as there was a wedding perhaps. The breakfast experience unfortunately wasn't the best. We got a really nice table with a view, but surprisingly the staff who took us to the table didn't clean the table as it still had a bit of a mess from the previous people staying there. We got toasted bread which felt wasn't freshly toasted. The service felt rushed and some staff felt they were quite under pressure maybe because of being short staffed?

This place is old and run down. The WiFi is non existent and the hotel has no elevator so be prepared to schlepp your luggage up a bunch of stairs. Our room overlooked the garbage bins ( and we booked our room 11 months ago). The best part of stay was a server name

Ok, but wouldn't stay again.

The setting for this hotel was amazing, the building and grounds were lovely, but once inside the hotel is very tired, i know its old and probably part of its old charm but tread bare carpets and broken bathroom floor tiles plus stains on the bedroom carpet in my opinion really lets it down plus the breakfast at £25 a head is really below par.

Lovely hotel & brilliant staff

Alway love to stay at this hotel.
Fabulous staff, Richard & Emma are brilliant.

Unfortunately I won’t be back and loved staying here.
Thought £25 for breakfast was ridiculous considering I only had a coffee and scrambled eggs on both days and I asked for a child’s portion as don’t eat much in the morning.
I normally book B&B, but must have missed it on Hotels.com this time. Maybe a paid menu for breakfast would tempt me back, but not the way it stands unfortunately.

Fantastic property but was let down by stained carpet and a loo that barely flushed. Our £10 credit did not even cover 1 drink as prices were outrageous. I understand it’s a quality property but pay less in 5 stars hotels elsewhere. The dinner was excellent quality and the room itself was beautiful. The grounds immaculate so we understand thus also costs money. I feel breakfast should be built into the price also

Peace and quiet.

A very relaxing stay which was just what we needed.
I was disappointed there were no pillow protectors.
Having been in the egg industry, the eggs at breakfast were beautiful and cooked to perfection. I assumed they would have come from a local producer (you have a large one at Strichen) I was shocked to hear they were from Nothern Ireland. This is why I marked you down a little on “eco”
I appreciate larger hotel groups buy this way but perhaps from the “green” perspective this may need to be reviewed.
We would love to stay again.

We had booked our stay for our 5th wedding anniversary after getting married at Pittodrie House. After checking in there was a lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary in our room however there was also a cot set up in the room & the room was roasting. The radiator in the room had been turned up to 30 & the room was very stuffy. There were only 2 quite small windows in the room & the one which looked like it would open had a dressing table in front of it.
As we went out to collect our belongings from the car we asked at reception for the cot to be removed & if the window could be opened. This was done immediately & the receptionist apologise for the cot being in the room.
We had a lovely dinner & due to a function being on were the only ones in the dining room. When we were ready to leave there was nobody there so we just went back to our room as we weren't sure we needed to pay anything. As a gold hotels.com member we should have had a £10 food and beverage credit so I didn't think we had anything to pay.
When we got up the next morning I noticed a stain on one of the towels in the bathroom. There was also a cobweb behind the bedroom door.
Breakfast was fine. When we came to check out I asked about the walled garden which is looking very untidy but this is due to staff shortages over covid. I was still disappointed not to be able to find our plaque/rose. We were also asked to pay for the drinks from dinner. I didn't want to complain any further so just paid.

Room for improvement

For a hotel that offers weddings, overall we would have expected certain things to be better:
- for a premium breakfast of £19 per person the porridge was made with water and was very bland and inedible, I would have expected some proper bakery standard bread not processed 20p loaf.

However, the muslin over the lemon was a fantastic touch, the dining room was clean and the service was good.

The interior design of the hotel is beautiful, very warm and welcoming and appears comfortably premium - However a small touch such as painting the back of the ladies bathroom doors would change it from back alley pub toilet to luxury hotel. I really appreciated the splashback below the hand dryer and the premium hand soap and lotion. Again the decor is lovely, warming and has that special feel about it.

Our room was fantastic and initial impressions made me feel it was clean however the shower cap box in the bathroom was empty (although not required) yet had clearly been used by someone to rest their toothbrush on!

The size, decor and layout of the room itself was beautiful and we had a very comfortable stay. We really appreciated that the curtains close properly! I appreciated the premium drinking glasses in the room but found there was actually no drinking water provided with them - drinking tap water from the bathroom was a big no no.

Overall, the hotel is beautiful, the staff are friendly however I will not pursue this location for our wedding unfortunately.

Overall an alright stay, but overpriced for what it is. The inside of the hotel could do with a refresh. The bedrooms were more modern and clean. We did notice that the fire doors were propped open which we weren’t too happy with.
Overall the room was good, but quite noisy as we were based near the kitchen.
Everyone who worked at the hotel was friendly, however, service a little on the slow side.
Breakfast was average.

It would be nice to see local gins and whiskies on the menu. I was a bit disappointed by this as the website alludes to a Scottish feel, but the menu seemed too based the standard brands of spirits.

Toilet had marks in the bowl - if this bathroom was refurbished, I fail to understand. Shower was not very strong especially if you had to lower the head. Meals were rather expensive, soup £7.50 and same soup 3 nights in a row, but chef did oblige and make a different one. When checking out they were going to charge for breakfast which was already included. Also, they were going to charge other extras which they had slips for but fortunately I had paid each night for any meals and drinks that we had - not impressed with their admin.

Perfect Pittodrie

Pittodrie House Hotel is situated in extensive grounds at the end of a long tree-lined Avenue. The building is Scottish Baronial and has a walled garden at the foot of a large lawn.
The welcome was warm and room was comfortable. I had dinner at the Mither Tap restaurant two nights, some of the best dishes I have been served including Tonka Bean Panna Cotta.
The ambience of the hotel was relaxed and the service attentive. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Pittodrie House.

Great for a weekend away

This is a fabulous hotel if you’re looking for a peaceful break in the Scottish countryside. Rooms and food are lovely, scenery is beautiful, but the stand out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, one of whom took us to hospital (and stayed with us until 1.00am) after my elderly father had a bad fall. Really, they couldn’t have been more accommodating to our group’s needs including changing us to more appropriate rooms when needed. Being a very old building that’s been extended at different periods, it’s rather a rabbit warren with lots of staircases, no ground floor bedrooms and no lift. So, perhaps not an ideal spot for the less mobile it those with lots of luggage. But despite our mishap we had a lovely stay and would go back.

A real pleasure to stay here

If you are thinking of of booking this hotel, I can only recommend it. Book now.
When we arrived we were greeted by Shannon, who was very helpful.
Our room was unavailable, however, the room offered as a replacement was excellent. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and tidy. The Elemis bathroom products were an appreciated touch.
We had a meal with 3 friends in the bar, the staff were very friendly and the food was well cooked and good sized portions.
The setting of the hotel is wonderful, you can understand why it is used as a wedding venue.
Would we stay again? DEFINITELY

Class with Character

We spent 3 nights at this lovely venue, were up for a family wedding at nearby Logie House. We love these historic country house hotels, of which Pittodrie House is a lovely example. Rooms have obviously been recently refurbished, very comfortable, great en-suite facilities.

Public areas are comfortable and period furnished to a good standard. We did not have dinner whilst there ( beautiful dining room) but, if breakfast is anything to go by we missed a treat ( best black pudding I have tasted in a long time). Everything cooked to order, staff very friendly, first class experience really and the fabulous weather certainly helped, would go back in a minute

Very quaint, exceptionally quiet which was nice.

Not too far from Aberdeen, and we knew how to get there, but noted the satnav struggled to locate, suggesting we park on A96

lovely hotel of great character, a former castle with quirks and historic features. Terrific landscaped grounds. No lift which was a problem for us elderly folk but we persevered with the many stairs. Cosy décor and beautiful modern bathrooms. Comfortable beds, TV and tea making facilities but no phone signal. Great breakfast choices included in the cost but dinner was expensive and of small quantity with little choice. There was a dispute over drinks which seemed to have been added to our bill but were not ours which we reluctantly paid in order to keep the peace. Overall a lovely stay.

Lower rating for this hotel unfortunately. As I drove up to the hotel I was delighted how excluded and aesthetic the property was. When I travel for work I seek hotels slightly excluded from the bustle of the city.

On arrival I was greeted by a very polite member of staff. However on arrival to my room I realised the promise of ‘free wifi’ was untrue. The WiFi was so sore that it took over an hour to send an email - making this hotel a night mate for travelling businessmen. Additionally, although the room was spacious and clean - the walls were so thin I was kept awake all night by a dog barking in the room down the hall, then rudely awakened as the dog ran past my room at 6:45 barking all the way.

I must say however, the staff are unbelievably good, and the waiter I had at dinner was the epitome of class and professionalism.

Would not recommend for solo travellers however, a technology free stay may be sought after by s traveimg couple

Pittrodie House

Nice quiet hotel set in beautiful grounds. The walled garden was amazing. Food was average in my opinion. Staff seemed to be very scarce, especially if you wanted a drink from the bar. But staff were very friendly and attentive. Wasn’t too impressed with all the laundry bags bring left either side of our room door for two days!!

Lovely hotel

Lovely bedroom although hotel was older fixture and fittings were up the date . It had a nice drawing room with real fire and comfy chairs. It is in the country and is a lovely setting .
We also had meal in restaurant which was rather expensive but I feel the meal and service was worth the price .

Beautiful hotel but Horrible WiFi

Love this hotel, it was gorgeous, friendly staff and great food, but my only complaint was the wifi was horrible. I would get kicked off multiple times and that's if I could even connect to it. This hotel would be the best if it could fix the WiFi issue.

Unjustifiable food prices

Absolutely fantastic hotel only let down by the horrendously overpriced food and drink.... seriously £18 for fish and chips and not a particularly decent portion either, £7 for a bowl of soup prices are ridiculous, not to mention £5.70 for a pint of lager, I declined breakfast which was another £18 and went 3 miles to the local Morrison's and had a hearty breakfast for £5

Stayed overnight as attending wedding nearby, wished we had booked two nights! Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished in keeping with the character of the building. Food excellent, very comfortable room overlooking the gardens. Roaring fires welcome in chilly March weather. Highly recommend.
