This inn was just fine for one night. One piece of furniture did have a stain on it but otherwise it was clean in the room. It was quiet and easy to access, we stayed here after hiking at Pinnacles National park. The parking was easy and staff checking in was pleasant, they have a key drop which was nice for an early departure.

Hollister Inn vs. Hotels.com

Hollister Inn is an older motel. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked.
The problem was with Hotel.com. I booked the room though them and was confirmed via email a couple days before my stay. When I arrived on 8/30, the hotel could not find my reservation. They finally found an email they showed Hotels.com had canceled it. Problem is, I never canceled and I did not receive an email confirmation of the cancellation. It was my birthday and I had reserved a winemaker dinner for six people and needed to get ready. Luckily the motel had two rooms left. But they wanted $50 more than my original reservation. They finally agreed to lower the price a little. I ended up paying around $45 more than my first reservation. I complained to Hotels.com twice, they called hotel to confirm what happened and said their resolution team would contact me. They never did. I am very unsatisfied with HOTELS.COM!

Great for Simple Travel Plans

This motel is kind of right up my alley for travel. Checked in with my girlfriend hammered after a wedding and the staff was more than gracious to me. I believe a lot of the negative reviews probably come from before the hotel was bought, maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I would say the only thing that could be improved is the water pressure and the bathroom needs a little love. The beds were actually very, very comfortable along with fast Internet and great TV.

It was also quiet.

We didn't see any bugs in room 140.

Clean, quiet, comfortable. A great budget friendly stop on the way to Pinnacles. It’s a 2 star motel so it’s nothing fancy but for the price you can’t beat it. Fridge, microwave and coffee in room. Could not hear and street noise. Check in staff was friendly.

The stay was good, quiet. If anybody says road noise keeps them awake they're full of nonsense you can't hear the road. The shower/bathtub faucet controls were broken and not existent I had to take a sponge bath. Took too long for hot water to get to the sink. That's unacceptable. Staff is excellent I will stay there again.

Very comfortable bed and great pillows. The towels were soft and the fan and heat worked well. The building is older but we had a very comfortable nights stay conveniently located just 40 min from the East entrance to Pinnacles National park . I accidentally left my phone charger behind and the office staff was helpful and kind when I returned many hours later to pick it up.

Disgusting, would never return

The Room was filthy. There were yellow and brown stains on the sheet and we had to call management to either give us new sheets or a different room. They tried to give us a different room, but it smelled like smoke. The manager emphatically told me that it did not smell like smoke and I requested they change our sheets to clean ones Or give us another different. He was not super friendly and was extremely rude to the housekeeper. The carpet was oily, and there were red and brown splatters of some kind of liquid dried on the walls and the smoke detector. Basically we were afraid to touch anything. I cannot believe this hotel got seven star reviews – the railings are rusting, there were piles of discarded clothes at the bottom of the stairwell, an open can of some kind of canned vegetables sitting on the railing when you go down the stairs.

I also can’t believe that they are charging $140 for these rooms. I paid a bit less because I had a credit but I’m very sorry we stayed here and would never come back again. Also, the pictures in on hotel.com are ridiculous: there is no breakfast and the rooms are not sparkling clean as the photos show.

Basic stay without surprises

I came here for a swim meet. This motel is pretty old, however the staff are so friendly. I like the hotel owner's grandpa 's smile all the time. Even the hotel owner, a young lady, is nice. Her husband looks nice also. It looks like a family business. My daughter seems to be ok. And I am okay to stay here. I feel like traveling to the countryside somewhere like another undeveloped country. I booked 1 king bed, but the bed looks like Queen bed. The mattress needs to change. The bed mattress springs are pretty old. There is only one table chair. The electric power went off when we heated up food in the microwave oven. The toilet function is not well. Even though uncomfortable matters, I am glad to stay here. Because we are safe and peaceful. This is the most important to us.

I had to stay in a hotel for 3 days and 2 nights due to construction on my home when i reserved my rome i requested a standard room with a king size bed. The room was standard but the bed was maybe a full size. So for my wife and i who are both plus size people was a dufficult stay. Not to mention i paid fir a king bed room

Traveled about 100 miles to attend the Northern California Renaissance Faire, and spent one night. This hotel was well-located for our needs, quiet, clean, basic but comfortable enough, felt safe for myself and my friend, both women. The young woman who checked us in was very nice. A/C was on the noisy side, but effective. Only thing was the outlet near the bed was not working. I didn't realize this when I plugged in at bedtime, so in the morning my phone was dead.

Staying at the Hollister Inn is like coming home in many ways. The owners and family are just charming. The property itself is simple, but clean and very pleasant. The room is well appointed. The owner, Nick, and his extended family, are eager to assure that all is well. We return again and again.

We had a very positive experience. It was amazingly quiet and very clean. Plenty of hot water. Bed was comfortable. Nice table for two for breakfast with window with shutters, not standard hotel drapes. The fridge had a large freezer compartment, which we did not use but should have! Tub! Ice! Staff was nice. Right on the main drag but no car noise where we were. Everyone was up and out early and we didn't hear anyone leaving. Cheery yellow accent wall. Wifi was great and easy to access.
Only things that might have been nice add-ins: tub plug (used towel), second coffee packet in room, real half and half or milk instead of powdered. The areas where the coffee maker was, above the microwave had a layer of dust. Other than that, everything was spotless!

Checking in was a nightmare, the woman in the office was rude as hell. Then the TV in my room didn't work, when I went to report it and get another room I was treated as if I'd just stolen something. I should have turned around and left but after my drive I was falling asleep and needed a bed. I'll never be back there!

I've stayed at many places in Hollister, but the Hollister Inn was the most restful and peaceful. Their beds are so comfortable. The owners are also very nice and there to make you feel at home. I recommend this place to all travelers.

I liked that the owners, are very nice and understand the situation you are in, and are not there to make a buck. I was there for 3 weeks and so were other families because of being homeless. They were awesome hostesses. Thank you Nick, Sam and Myube!
