I am writing to share my recent experience at Rainell Dolomites Retreat and advise against staying there.

The cost of the room was disproportionately high given its quality and the extremely poor amenities. The actual condition of the property and rooms bears no resemblance to the images displayed on their website.

Furthermore, the owners, who also operate the business, demonstrated a complete lack of customer service throughout my stay. The room itself had several issues, including a leaking shower and no body wash provided. The location is also incredibly inconvenient, making it difficult to access.

There are many better alternatives available nearby, offering superior accommodations and more convenient access to local restaurants and the town. I strongly recommend choosing a different establishment for your stay.

The family and staff of Rainelle are so welcoming and delightful. The Silent Room with the incredible view of the mountains was a special experience that sets this hotel above the rest. The rooms are especially large and comfortable. There is a taxi stand in town that we took one evening after dinner since the bus had stopped running, to avoid the long walk up the hill. We walked the hill twice and it is challenging but totally doable if you are in decent shape. We are in our early 60s and in the area to hike so it didn't bother us too much.

Absolutely wonderful stay in the Dolomites!

This hotel was amazing in every way! From the impeccable service, the kind and helpful staff, the beautiful rooms, delicious food—the Rainell is in a league of its own. Be sure to check out the gorgeous pool/spa area.

This was a beautifully maintained property. All the staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to assist the guests. Lots of ammenities too! We were given some great hiking advice from the front desk. The town was so cute and we were able to take the gondolas/lifts to the top for some spectacular hiking. Highly recommend this family owned hotel!

Amazing hotel, amazing view, would stay again!

We stayed here for two nights and I only wish we had stayed longer!! The local area is fantastic for scenery and hiking and the town of Ortisei is so charming! We picked this hotel because of the location, ease of parking and the spectacular views and I can only say that we made a fantastic choice!

There is a spacious parking lot, and the top area fills up so check down below if there aren't any spaces up top.

Our room was beautiful, we were upgraded to a room with a balcony and an amazing view of town so we could sit out on our balcony and enjoy the view and fresh mountain air! The bed was super comfy too! The main downside was the shower. There is a glass partition to help keep the water in, but it doesn't do a great job so the floor gets all covered in water, so be careful, don't leave clothes on the floor.

The amenities at this hotel are fantastic! They have a pool, a sauna and various other spa features, including you can book massages. They really cater to people who stay longer, offering guided group hikes in the nearby mountains (one reason I wish we had stayed longer).

The breakfast spread offered by the hotel is fantastic! Hot and cold food, cheeses, cold cut meats, pastries, fruit and veggies, yogurt, eggs, juice, everything!

We also ate dinner at the hotel one night and the food was amazing, definitely worth it, and after a long day of hiking in the mountains, it was nice not to have to leave the hotel in the evening.

I loved this hotel!!

Perfect Hotel in a Great Town

The hotel was a true resort hotel. From the moment we walked in they led us to our room and explained our dinner options, transportation, and other activities. Because Ortesei is not a large town and there is plenty of space the room itself is very large. It was great having the extra space after the tiny rooms in Venice.

The pool is kept to a nice 87 degrees so you can use it even when it's chilly outside. Dont forget your pool towels and robes when you go.

As far as location Ortesei is a great home base in the Dolomites. The gondolas go right over this hotel and if you plan on hiking to Compatsch it's mostly downhill. The town had numerous little shops and restaurants.

One cool thing was they gave us weekly bus passes so we were able to go up the lifts in Ortesei, go down at Suisi, and bus through the other small towns. At a minimum it's a free ride back to Balzano where the train station is.

Wonderful location, although tough walk into the town when you have to walk up the steep hill to get back to the hotel. Dinner in the in-house restaurant was imaginative and well prepared. Staff was extremely attentive.

Great 4-star hotel!

Great breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. Especially the four-course gourmet dinner at 15 euro per person was excellent, convenient, and more than reasonable priced.
The hotel is a remodeled charming old hotel, with tasty deco and a feel of history. The location is great (5-10 walk to the town, a little on the hill)The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking right at the hotel, was free and easy.
The saunas and pool were also included. They are new and very well maintained. It was very relaxing to use the sauna with incredible views after a day of active hiking.
Everything was great except for the slow and unstable wifi from the room. But it did not bother us very much.
We enjoyed the big room with view, the food and the town, the nature very much.

A wonderful hotel just off the beaten path from the main square. 15 minute walk to town. Very amicable and helpful staff except maybe the one bartender/waiter who tended the bar the evening we were there. Would highly recommend.

highly recommend!

the hotel is absolutely great. Everything was perfect including the service of both the owner and the stuff.
the location is ok, not the best, as the hotel is situated up on the hill so in order to get to the center, you would have to use your car or go by foot which might not be so comfortable.
(there is a free shuttle service that operates mornings and afternoons)
We used our car for getting to the center and to go to more remote sections of this amazing ski resort.
breakfast was great too.
Dinner was nice and Reasonably priced.
All in all, I was very happy with it.

Superb hotel

Superb hotel you feel welcome from the moment you arrive until departure. Large selection buffet breakfast and the 5 course evening meal is a must. the rooms are very large and immaculate. Hope to get back again some day.

Greate hotel but be prepared to walk allot

The hotel is greate, the staff is very nice, the room we had was a junior suite and it was ok, there was no coffee set that was a bit of a disappointment. The hotel is located on top of a steep hill - there is parking near the hotel but unless you want to drive up and down to the town center you will have to walk 10 - 15 min uphill

Wonderful mountain retreat

Clean, quiet, large rooms & bathrooms, every room has at least one deck, ours had two with beautiful views of the mountains. Great location for gondola ride to walk/hike in the grassy fields of de susi surrounded by Dolomite mtns.
We had the half board and enjoyed the service & food. Very helpful staff. The main town is by the gondola, then across a pedestrian bridge, it was quite a bustling small town, we liked the quiet of our hillside and hope to return for longer stay and explore the area more ... Special place in our memory.

This is how hotel service should be

This is one of the best experiences I have ever had in a hotel. Room was large with a large balcony. Hotel staff were excellent . The breakfast buffet was superb . Opted for dinner in the hotel the first night and the 5 course meal was so good we had dinner in the hotel for the remaining nights of our vacation. Also if you are arriving or departing by bus hotel will collect or drop you to bus stop in Ortisei. Will Definitely be back.

오르티세이중심가에서 언덕위로 꽤올라가야한다. 우리는 렌트카가있어 별문제는 아니었지만 기차나 버스를 이용하는 분들은 불편할수있을것같다. 숙소는 언덕위에 위치하여 뷰도좋고 특히 사우나에서 보는 뷰가 아름답다. 조식도 맛있음

Sentralt og idyllisk hotell

Hotellet lå stille og vakkert til i Ortisei med kort vei til spektakulære turområder! Hotell rommet var stort og fint, maten var nydelig og betjeningen kjempe hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Skulle jeg kommentere på noe, må det være at sengene var litt harde. Vi vil gjerne bo på Alpenhotel Rainell neste gang også!

Gostamos tanto deste lugar que prolongamos nossa estadia neste hotel.
os donos Giorgio e Uli nos recebereram com tamanha hospitalidade que tornou o lugar ainda mais especial. Eles foram demais! A vista, do hotel é linda, ela pega Ortisei toda de frente e é uma boa escolha de base para conhecer a região fora da temporada de neve. Adoramos!!

なだらかな山の山麓に立地しており、街に出るにはきつい坂を下りねばなりませんが、私たちには散歩にちょうど良い程度でした。バルコニーからの景観もすばらしいです。レストランの食事は若干少なめですが、安くておいしいものでした。毎日スタッフによるツアーガイド等イベントがあるようで、私たちも利用させていただき、大変満足しました。次回も利用したいと思います。

This is a great family owned hotel with a very friendly and service minded staff. We enjoyed our four nights on a ski holiday in the Dolomites. You can ski from the hotel to the main ski lift from Ortisei to the Alpes de Suisi, a great ski area. The Sella Ronda area can easily be reached by bus or on ski through the Seceda area. The hotel staff was a great help for tour suggestions and had a good arrangement with a local ski gear rental service which brought and picked up our rental gear to/from the hotel. We booked a room with half board and were very happy with the good hearty meals, local style, prepared by the hotel chef.

Nærhet til flott skitereng både alpint og langrenn

Vi har bestilt samme Hotell også neste vår (først på mars) Formål med turen var å stå på slalomski i de flotte Dolomittene.Hotellet ligger meget godt til rette for skikjøring i Saiser Alm med gondol som starter 200 m fra Hotellet. Vi skled ned til påstging og ble hentet hver dag med minibuss som fraktet oss opp bakken til Hotellet. hkjøte til og med Heiskort på hotellet. Vi disponerte leiebil så vi kjøret opp dalen til Wolkenstein for å starte på rundturen \"SellaRonda\" som er en flott alpintur i mange slags løyper også for oss som nærmer oss 60 år og ikke har kjørt alpint siden ungdommen. Ortisei er en hyggelig landsby med små koselige forhold på butikker og spisesteder. Vi var innom museet (sjelden) og fik historen om Dolemittenes oprinnelse. til og med fruen syntes dette var kjekt. Vi hadde rom med halv pensjon og det velger vi også neste år da maten var både god , variert og i hyggelig omgivelser blandt andre som var ute i samme erend.

Superkwaliteit in hotel met zeer vriendelijke mens

Heel goed, super, hotel, heerlijk gegeten (al moet je het personeel wel een keer vertellen dat tussen de gangen door iets meer pauze mag zijn). Geweldige kamer. naast het hotel skies aanklikken en naar de gondel skien. Wij hebben ons bijzonder goed vermaakt en komen zeker terug, ik kan dit hotel aan iedereen aanbevelen.
