This hotel was advertised with spa services food, and in close proximity to ski lifts. What they do not say is that the spa services in the pool they charge per person per day, the ski lifts are not even close and are not within walking distance. To eat at the restaurant you have to reserve it the day before and pay an €18 fee per person. They don’t serve lunch only breakfast and dinner on certain days. The front desk people were extremely rude and not helpful at all. Parking was another area of contention as there is not enough parking for the guests and the road to get to the parking spot is very narrow.

The check in was terrible. The absolute definition of not to be customer oriented right from the get go. The person at the reception was rude and was very argumentative about the check in time after I proofed her wrong and she diverted to impose to sign the reservation……horrible bad! The next surprise was that we had to get our luggage back in to the car and had to drive to an offsite location/biopsy not as advertised. We had to go 2 floors up to enter the two rooms we booked. To me I don’t understand how the have awarded the 4 stars ….unbelievable! My list of criticism could go on and on……cleanliness smell building issues you name it. Normally I do not write any reviews, but in this case I had to just for the simple reason to warn people to book that fake accommodation!

Spacious, nice apart. Fantastic kitchen with everything you need, so it is convenient when you stay longer. Gives an 'at home' feeling. Huge TV for long evenings if you go in winter or cold season. Convenient location. Walking to restaurants, shops.
If you have an apartment in the ground floor, don't park your car in front of the building, you can take your luggage inside directly from the terrace in the rear parking.

The apartment we rented was not in the resort. Rather in a separate building which was fine with us due our wanting to have our own meals and more room to move around in, than a basic hotel room.
It was well equipped and clean. The furniture was very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and there was a great TV (even if there were only 2 english stations) even thought we did not really need it.
The front desk people were very helpful and the language barrier was really not an issue. All in all it was a very nice accommodation.
We would recommend the Avital to anyone visiting Winterberg.

Goed hotel maar neem geen comfort room op 3e
Wij hadden een duurdere comfort room geboekt omdat die groter zou zijn, maar de extra ruimte bestond uit een grote hal met een extra bed waar wij niet veel aan hadden en de kamer zelf waarschijnlijk kleiner is dan een normale kamer., Bovendien was de kamer op zolder op de 3e verdieping en had hij daardoor erg schuine wanden, waardoor hij nog kleiner werd en ik voortdurend mijn hoofd stootte. Ook gaat de lift maar tot de 2e verdieping en moet je het laatste stuk je koffer omhoog sjouwen. Op de tweede dag werd onze kamer niet schoongemaakt.wellicht omdat hij helemaal boven is. Het ontbijt was erg goed. De locatie was ook goed. Kortom goed hotel maar geen comfort kamer op de 3e verdieping nemen!

Ganz wichtig: wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Die Einrichtung ist allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wobei das Restaurant gemütlich ist und der Frühstücksraum modern. Unsere Suite war hingegen etwas karg eingerichtet, aber sauber. Die Küche könnte noch ein kleines Bisschen drauflegen. Aber die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter sind richtig nett. Das macht sehr viel aus.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist perfekt, alles konnte zu Fuß erreicht werden. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind super. Parken konnte man direkt vom Haus. Die Empfangsdame hatte uns am ersten Tag ein paar Tipps gegeben wo man gut weg gehen kann und es wurden uns für einen Tag Tickets gegeben für den Bus im ganzen Kreis Sauerland sowie eine Karte für Vergünstigung der Ski Ausrüstung und dem Skipass. Die Küche In dem Apartment war voll ausgestattet mit Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Eierkocher, Toaster etc...Die Unterkunft hatte gute Betten. Wir hatten ein Ferienhaus und zu dem Preis hatten wir aber nicht den Wellnessbereich. Für 8 Euro (Inkl. Handtuch) konnten wir es für einen Tag auch mitbenutzen. Leider war es etwas enttäuschend, weil der Wellnessbereich sehr klein war. Wir hatten nicht mal einen Ruhrbereich. Liegen waren zum Teil alle reserviert von Leuten die im Schwimmbad oder in der Sauna waren. Leider etwas schlecht, da man nach der Sauna auch ein paar Minuten entspannen wollte. WLAN Verbindung war sehr gut. Für einen kurzen Trip Oder langen Trip ohne Frühstück (da man dafür ins Hauptbaus gehen muss) war das super.

We hadden er niet goed op gelet, en bleken dus een appartement te hebben, ipv een kamer in het hotel. De appartementen liggen niet bij het hotel, je hebt geen gebruik tot de hotelfaciliteiten of de spa/sauna. Er is geen lift. Alles ligt nogal ver van de actie in Winterberg. Voor een appartement was alles wel OK: mooie grote slaapkamer, comfortabele leefruimte, keuken+sanitair dik in orde.

We hadden een zeer ruime kamer met balkon, koelkastje, bureau en een zitje. Er lagen op de kamer een paar appels en er stond een fles bruisend water voor ons klaar. De badkamer was modern en in de douche hing een sproeier waar een heerlijke harde straal water uitkwam. Min puntje was wel dat er in de hoeken schimmel zichtbaar was. Op de kamer lagen ook een paar badjassen en badslippers klaar voor de spa. De spa is niet groot maar goed te doen, vanuit je kamer kun je rechtstreeks met de lift of trap naar de spa. Jammer dat je in het zwembad badkleding aan moest en in de spa geen badkleding aan mocht. Het ontbijt is uitmuntend te noemen. Het avondeten zag er goed en netjes uit, op het menu stond ook spaghetti carbonara maar de kok wist niet hoe hij dit moest maken.

Wir haben in einer Ferienwohnung übernachtet - bestehend aus einem Schlafzimmer, Wohn- und Essbereich, Küche und einem kleinen Bad mit Dusche. Die Wohnung befand sich in einem Appartementhaus, ca. 250 m vom Haupthaus entfernt. Das Appartement war frisch renoviert und an sich gut ausgestattet, wirkte aber etwas kahl (das Resort ist hier mit vier Sternen ausgezeichnet). Es verfügte über einen Balkon, es fehlten jedoch Stühle/Tisch zum Draußensitzen. Letztendlich haben wir die Stühle aus dem Esszimmer genutzt. Im Badezimmer fehlten Pflegeprodukte - die laut Auskunft der Rezeption lediglich in den Hotelzimmern zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Man hätte uns aber welche gegeben, wenn wir darum gebeten hätten. Vielleicht hatten wir die Beschreibung des Hotels falsch gelesen. Das Appartementhaus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und noch nicht gänzlich fertig renoviert, die Außenanlage wenig einladend (die Fotos zeigen wohl die Außenanlage des Haupthauses). Sicher wird es irgendwann mal eine schöne, gemütliche Anlage werden, aber im Moment ist sie es leider nicht. Bitte nicht falsch verstehen, für den Preis von 85 € für eine Nacht und zwei Personen (das Frühstück ist exklusive) war die Unterkunft in Ordnung. Trotzdem waren wir etwas enttäuscht - anhand der wunderschönen Fotos haben wir etwas anderes erwartet.
